Can A Vampire Possibly Still Perform Magic?

Hope Mikaelson, a vampire in The Originals, has been a subject of speculation since the Season 3 finale. Despite her vampire powers being inaccessible, Hope is considered the loophole to end all loopholes. As a tribrid, she can activate her vampire, werewolf, and witch powers simultaneously. Her father, Klaus, was the original hybrid, meaning he was both a vampire and a witch.

In TVD, once a witch becomes a vampire, they are no longer able to use magic. However, Hope’s vampire blood doesn’t affect her ability to do magic. In Season 5, Hope officially completed her transition to vampire, becoming part witch, part werewolf. This pivotal moment in the show’s storyline, “The Tale of Two Wolves”, is where Hope’s magic will be tainted with her vampire blood and aggressive wolf temperament.

Despite the limitations of both vampires in practicing magic, Hope retained her witch powers at an augmented level, similar to how her magic persisted after triggering her Werewolf curse. In TVD, only heretics can use magic, but Hope is not a heretic. Hope is the first of her kind to be a Witch, Werewolf, and Vampire (untapped).

In theory, the minute Hope activated her vampire powers in Legacies, she should have lost her ability to wield magic. However, since werewolf-witch hybrids can still use their magic, Hope technically still has vampire, werewolf, and witch powers activated simultaneously.

Hope’s only magical limitations should have been familial, as she wasn’t part of the Bennett family or any doppelganger line. Without any outside source, Hope can snap the neck of a 1000-year-old original vampire with a flick of her wrist and likely even kill one.

One of Hope’s Tribrid feats is blitzing and fodderizing a 1000-year-old vampire, which is not too weaker than Rebekah.

Is Hope actually a vampire?

Hope is not immortal, as she cannot age and is not a full vampire. She has vampire blood in her veins, which can heal her and other humans, and can turn a werewolf into a hybrid. However, she lacks certain abilities like super speed, strength, and super senses, as she hasn’t transformed into a full vampire yet. Hope’s witch heritage raises questions about her potential transformation into a complete tribrid, similar to how Niklaus could become a complete tribrid. Hope’s vampire blood can heal her and other humans, but she doesn’t have super speed or super speed capabilities. Therefore, she is not immortal at the moment.

Will Hope become an original vampire?

Hope is the only child born to an Original vampire, who has inherited the blood of an Original vampire and the potential to become an Original vampire herself. Following her mother’s demise, Hayley underwent a transformation into a hybrid, with fetal cells entering her body.

How can Hope Mikaelson be a witch and a vampire?

In “I’ll Never Give Up Hope”, Hope is the world’s first werewolf-witch-vampire hybrid, inheriting her werewolf gene from both of her parents and her vampire and witch legacy from her father, the Original Witch. She uses magic to navigate Malivore, but a vortex opens, sucking her in. Before she can escape, she is pulled back into the darkness by Ryan Clarke. Clarke admits that they are not at peace, but inside Malivore, where all creatures are absorbed.

Hope uses a mimic spell to force Clarke to leave her alone. Another vortex opens within Malivore, attempting to suck Hope in. Clarke warns her that the vortex will destroy her and asks her to break the mimic spell. They face a dragon, which attempts to kill them, but Hope scares it away. Clarke admits that he has never been a villain, just a boy who was scared of his father.

Hope casts a calming spell to alleviate Clarke’s worries, and another vortex opens, surrounded by Shadow Creatures. Clarke admits that she has figured out that a vortex opens each time she practices magic, but she has never fully activated her vampire side, so she cannot kill Malivore. Clarke agrees that Malivore is trying to expel her, but he closes the vortex each time he attempts to escape with her. He begs Hope to help him escape, but she declines. When the next vortex opens, she allows herself to be sucked up and released from Malivore.

Will Hope become a vampire if she dies?

The demise of Hope would prompt her to undergo a metamorphosis into a vampire, which could serve to safeguard her magical abilities. This hypothesis is supported by the assertion put forth by Bonnie’s mother, which posits that witches who are transformed into vampires tend to lose their magical prowess.

Why isn’t Klaus a tribrid?

Klaus’s lack of magic before his transformation indicates that he may not have possessed the requisite abilities to become a tribrid, even if the incongruity of being a witch and a vampire was not an issue. This suggests that the capacity for magic may have been absent in previous generations.

Why does Hope never use her vampire powers?

Legacies, a spinoff of The Vampire Diaries, is set in a world where Hope, a Tribrid with the abilities of a werewolf, a witch, and a vampire, has yet to access any of her vampire powers. This is ironic given that the show is a spinoff of The Vampire Diaries. However, Legacies treats death lightly, having killed off and resurrected Landon numerous times. Despite this, Legacies has not killed off Hope yet, making the vampire portion of her powers inaccessible.

Hope’s famous lineage allows her to access vampire blood through her veins, but she cannot become one until she is canonically killed off. The series’ lighter tone, such as “This Feels Kind of Cult-y” (season 3, episode 14), suggests that killing Hope to activate her vampire powers would be an effective plot device that injects real stakes into the series and makes its heroine even more powerful in coming seasons.

The recent light, comic tone makes the twist unexpected, making the upcoming end of season 3 the perfect time for Legacies to see Hope finally die and eventually come back to attain her vampire powers.

Can Hope still do magic as a tribrid?

Hope Mikaelson, a powerful and prophesied supernatural being, is the daughter of Hayley Marshall-Kenner and Klaus Mikaelson. Despite being cursed to suppress magic, Hope’s Witch powers allowed her to become the first Werewolf-Witch Hybrid in history. She is a gifted student at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and gifted. Hope is known for her stubbornness, emo, and bravery, willing to put herself through extreme pain and death to save her mother. She is also smart, possibly too smart for her own good, like her father. Hope is always offering to help save those she cares about and considers family, including Marcel.

  • He was preachy however he is not wrong if the Originals had learned to keep low profiles they would have had fewer enemies and Hope would have been with her family for longer. Klaus’ temper tantrums made everyone know where they were even when they returned to New Orleans he needed attention and to rule just for the sake of it and course, they backed him up. They could have just stayed undercover in New Orleans for example. I think Rebecca will last the longest because she was usually more discreet than their other siblings and if Hope learns that trait she will live much longer and a peaceful life.

  • Hope herself gets to know and use the full extent of her powers. She is, below the gods, the strongest and most powerful being. That’s why she herself was surprised when she just snatched his head away from ala DarthVader. Admittedly, it is not a real original by saying. But it is like an original in terms of blood. In addition, she descends from the first witch as a granddaughter and is a strong wolf as a crescent alpha. Yes, it’s cool. Her current weak point is the perception of emotions as she has turned off her compassion and stress emotions such as love. That scene, and when they screwed this Markus, were my favorites. It’s unfortunate that the main character gets so little screentime.

  • I just imagine how funny it would have been if he were like early Vampire Diaries vampires and had her ominous legends of Klaus, the oldest and somehow immortal vampire who is a sadistic monster known to decimate whole villages for fun and torture whoever he wants. Just imagine: Hope goes “You mean Niklaus Mikealson?” and he goes “No, I’m not taking about just some guy, I am talking about a monster so terrible he haunts monsters’ nightmares” and then her going “OMG, you knew my dad!” Obviously, he wouldn’t have known and survived him, but I just really wanted a call back to the ominous evil Klaus represented, without a wolf side or a family or anything, just real bad vibes.

  • Not relevant. But I like how people hate “evil” Hope. Like bruhh… She turned off her Humanity and if you think about it. Either than Aleric who deserved it. She only attacked her friends in retaliation. Like how Caroline did. She not about the world burn life. Plus if she were anything like her father. The school would be gone. And most if not all of the cast would be dead right now.

  • I do HOPE we get her to see Hope struggle a bit more in later episodes. I get she’s now the tribrid but even before that most of the time Hope just kicks people’s butt easily except when she’s up against an exceptionally powerful or smart being like Cleo or Aurora. Honestly scenes where she’s up against an enemy don’t even feel tense anymore because she’s stronger than EVERYONE! I HOPE (had to pun again) that we get the gods introduced soon so Hope can have a real struggle (or even have Aurora and Hope confront each other again).

  • Why would he assume he was centuries older than her? Did he hear her talking about recently being turned? Oh, I remember, her and Lizzie mentioned being new to this. Otherwise, that dude would be pretty stupid to assume just because they are young looking or well adjusted to current times, they must be younger vampire wise.

  • I wonder how the hell this guy didn’t recognize Hope?! She is the world’s first Tribrid, Klaus Mikaelson’s daugther and this is a big deal. There are people, vampire still alive who seen her before. The Triad people recognized her and in a world were the supernatural comunity seams to be a small town How Didn’t he know she was Hope Mikaelson?!

  • Vampires are really endangered. They used to be extremely abundant in number but 1: mystic falls gang just had to kill Finn and kol, along with their sirelines, and Kol’s sireline was stated to be the most massive among the originals. 2: Elijah is dead now and his sireline also comprised of a lot of vampires. Klaus and Rebekah are the only ones with a sireline left but I doubt Rebekah has as many sirelings, and Klaus’s broken sireline is probably diminished because of Klaus killing all his enemies in season 5. Vampires = endangered and protected species.
