Alcohol and magic mushrooms are often combined to lessen adverse effects, such as paranoia and nausea, especially for those new to the drug or taking higher doses. However, adding alcohol to the mix can increase the risks, as the depressive effects of alcohol can amplify some of the sedative effects of mushrooms.
Alcohol is a central nervous system (CNS) depressant, while psilocybin, the active compound in magic mushrooms, can cause impaired perception. Drinking alcohol while taking shrooms can lead to serious health problems due to the depressant nature of alcohol and the sedative effects of psilocybin. To optimize the integration of magic mushrooms and alcohol, it is recommended that alcohol be abstained from for at least a week before taking them and stay off for a week or so afterward.
The effects of psilocybin mushrooms are subjective and vary widely based on factors such as dosage and individual sensitivities. While it is theoretically possible to drink alcohol while taking mushrooms, this is usually not recommended due to the special qualities of psychedelic mushrooms.

As a person begins to dabble in certain drugs, they may begin to mix different substances to feel more intense effects. Psilocybin, the ingredient in magic mushrooms, has been found to help people with alcohol use disorder reduce drinking, according to a new study.

📹 The Dangers of Mixing Shrooms and Alcohol
Shrooms and alcohol make up one of the more common combinations that young adults try. Many of these individuals are …
This is true. I was an alcoholic, the war is not over, but since I’v taken shrooms, I dont drink everyday anymore. I dont desire to drink, but on occasion I get trap by alcohol (since it was part of my everyday routine). I take shrooms every two week and meditate. It help a lot. Alcohol is very dangerous and destructive. Shrooms are the absolute opposite.
This needs more support.. I quit massive daily alcohol abuse overnight by Microdosing shrooms. As soon as I started to take the doses, I didn’t want to drink any more.. it didn’t seem desirable at all anymore. I’ve had exactly half of one vodka since then (I didn’t set out to “quit”, was just a happy side effect of exploring mushrooms for other purposes), when the friend who was visiting my family left, I tossed half the drink in the sink in front of my mother and she almost fainted because she knew I was a big drinker. It literally was the second day dosing and I was done with the vodka. Most amazingly, I had ZERO withdrawal symptoms aside from a little trouble falling asleep here and there. I was worried I’d die. Probably won’t work for everyone but man oh man am I glad a trusted friend told me he was trying it and he was feeling great. I’m as well as ever, working out again, and coming through. To me, it’s a miracle.
I’m an alcoholic and I’ve been clean for a year and a half now. I don’t have the same likeness that I once did when I was in my 20’s and early 30’s. Switching gears ⚙ I started smoking marijuana at the age of 33 and I liked every bit of it untile I couldn’t get high anymore. And knowing the fact that I couldn’t get high made me very angry and that anger turned in to depression. So I went to the liquor store and bought some alcohol 🍸. And that was a bad mistake. All it did was made my anger and depression worse.
I’ve had a problem with alcohol for the last 20 years and I did 2 large dose trips just for fun, to see what it was like and without even thinking about it, id say around a week after the 2nd dose I just stopped drinking alcohol, it’s still the weirdest thing, I can’t quite explain it, it wasn’t my intention to try it to quit alcohol with mushrooms it just happened by itself. I ve quit so many times and this is the longest I’ve gone without alchohol, 7 months so far, and I don’t really having any cravings, once and awhile I think about it, but it passes.
Apples, ripe apples, we’ll pick from the trees, But cider – no cider for us, if you please. Grapes, purple grapes, for your eating and mine, But we’ll turn down our glasses where pours the red wine. Barley, fresh barley, we’ll welcome as bread, But when made into beer it is poison instead. We’ll enjoy all the good things God maketh to grow, When men change them to poisons, we’ll bravely say, “No.”
The day I stopped drinking was the day I broke the spirit of alcoholism in the name of Jesus the Son of God, the King of the Universe and commanded it to be GONE. I tried literally EVERYTHING else, including mushrooms, and AA, which I still attend. But without the power of the Son of God, I was never, ever able to heal. I feel like someone needs to hear this.
OK, these are some good reminders, there’s no question that increasing your mental clarity and boosting your drive, comes with quitting. Yes, there are many ways to kick the habit, Steffon Barkload’s Quit Drinking Forever is what worked for me, best shortcut I go’ogled that took days without withdrawal.
“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17 “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Matthew 5:38-39○
We seriously need to legalize shrooms like seriously im sick and tired of weed and shrooms being illegal meanwhile drinking is so socially acceptable while being way worse. I micro dose twice a week since june when i go to church or out with friends along with weed mixed in and honestly I loved it so much that i quit drinking 2 weeks ago with 3 weeks to go and honestly I don’t really miss alcohol much 😂
Alcohol addiction is the result of a problem, not the problem, I’m fairly sure we have science that proves giving people a better life solve alcohol addiction, because no one is addicted to alcohol. They are addicted to feeling good about themself. The problem here is that you are NOT dealing with the problem, you are giving people LESS harmful ways function as a worker drone, while AVOIDING giving them a better life. Trying to solve real societal problems by drugging people into being functionning “worker drones” is sick.
My main concern is that it might work TOO well. In fact, the patient even hints at it when he said it was like an antibiotic. Pharmaceutical companies don’t invest too much money into research and development for new antibiotics mostly because after you take the antibiotic you don’t need it anymore which means no financial incentive. If psychedelics work to well we could run into a similar problem.
Did this one time as a punishment to myself and yeah felt horrible I was so drunk prior to eating a whole 8th of shrooms And it was like my body needed me to use any last bit of my real self to replenish and start the healing of the body after a very heavy night of drinking And instead I ate the shrooms Started to trip But didn’t have control at all My head started rocking back and forth I was laughing uncontrollably but like a scary laughing Finally my body gave it up Ran to the rr and puked saw my head as big as a pumpkin 🎃
My personal experience was I was taking shrooms with some buddies a decent amount where i was seeing cool things and being confused the entire time, but im unsure as if the shot was spiked or not because an hour after the shot (like 6 hours after i took the shrooms and i was still tweaking a little bit) i was walking down a gravel pathway and me and my buddy who both took the shot with some random guy (he said he wasnt tripping anymore)we both looked at eachother and asked each other if we were feeling alright and my vision kind of faded and my buddy ran into a camper and that was kinda the last thing i seen. i felt like i was dying and every like minute id think i was fine then think i was dying again but i was almost numb and freezing, coldest i think ive ever been in my entire life and i was seeing like devilish red letters in my vision and sometimes id hear something that wasn’t actually said. After an hour somehow we got back to the place we were staying ( a camper) and layed down the dude who gave us the shot came into the room and said are we feeling alright and i yelled at him and said he laced us. for like a while after i was still feeling it and feeling like i was dying every so often.
So everyone here saying they do this and it’s fine, 2 months ago I microdosed and drank beer, which I have done numerous times before, but this time I woke up to having a seizure, which I have never had. So for everyone out there saying it’s fine, just keep your mental health in mind next time mixing the 2 .
