Palm suggests using drugstore formulas like Nair and Veet for arms and legs, but if you’re trying Magic Shaving Powder on your body, do a patch test first. This is especially important for those with sensitive skin. Nair may be easier than shaving in most cases, but one should always be cautious before proceeding with their decision.
TikTok is obsessed with SoftSheer-Carson Magic Fragrant Shaving Powder for chemically removing leg and arm hair. The SoftSheen-Carson Magic Razorless Shaving Powder was created with men’s beards in mind, but shoppers have been using it to remove unwanted hair from legs, underarms, and bikini areas too. Magic Shaving Powder is a depilatory powder that can be mixed with cool water to form a paste, applied to the skin, let dry, and wipe off.
Nair hair removal cream facilitates nearly painless, quick, and comfortable hair removal. However, shaving is often the go-to method due to its convenience. Nair is a highly effective and easily available cream that helps break down hair, making it more efficient.
Magic shaving powder is better than Nair in terms of effectiveness, speed, and gentleness on the skin. It comes in a tin that looks like custard powder but a white grey powder and is mixed with water in a 1:1 ratio. The powder is stronger than the pre-mix but works well for coarse hair.
Depilatory creams like Nair can be harsh on the skin and potentially cause chemical burns, especially if used on sensitive areas like the genitals. A less than $3 “magic shaving powder” has gone viral for its incredibly effective results that rival that of Nair.

She uses a plastic spoon to spread the cream over her skin and pat it on water as it dries. Then, she gently scrapes off the hair and cream.
The product makes skin smooth and silky for two days, and on the third day, she uses the powder again or lives with the stubble until she decides to remove it. However, she has experienced a “burn” on her upper lip after leaving it on for only three minutes.
Despite not using Magic Shave on her face, she has never had better results with anything else. She used to use the Mach 3 razor but will never switch back now that she has found Magic Powder. Overall, Magic Shave is a great product for removing hair and preventing razor bumps.

Which is better, Nair or shaving?
Nair™ products provide smooth, hair-free skin that lasts days longer than shaving due to their chemical removal of hair below the skin’s surface. For even longer-lasting results, Nair™ waxes can last up to 4 weeks. However, Nair™ does not make hair grow back thicker, unlike other methods like shaving and waxing. Regular waxing can cause hair to grow back finer than before. Nair™ products come in light, fresh scents with ingredients like orange blossom and Damask rose, and the Men’s Nair™ line offers bold, cutting-edge scents developed in collaboration with top fragrance houses.
Is magic shaving powder safe for pubic hair?
Before using any depilatory cream, it is essential to test the product on the legs and arms, using the upper thigh near the buttock as it is hidden. Avoid applying the cream to the genitals as it is sensitive and risky for a strong depilatory cream. If patch tests show no negative reaction, proceed with caution and follow the product’s instructions. Repeated applications in a short period increase the risk of sensitivity, so wait at least 24 hours between applications.
Avoid applying the powder on underarms while wearing antiperspirant or deodorant, use a razor after 36 hours post-removal, and avoid using the depilatory after extended sun exposure or with alcohol-heavy products. These recommendations can be found on the product itself, as they are on the packaging.

I just want to throw a few things out there -It IS sold in Walmart -Do NOT leave it on for 10 minutes. You’re just asking for chemical burns. It’ll burn your fingerprints off if you don’t use gloves or some type of applicator. -Be careful using it on your face. You don’t want this stuff in any mucous membranes! Goes for naughty bits too! -I definitely notice the smell at first. It reminds me of the smell of a perm but it does mostly go away once you shower. It just leaves a pleasant scent kind of like baby powder or something. -I noticed a very nice feeling on my legs afterwards where it’s almost like you used lotion to make them soft but it doesn’t wear off as quickly. If I had to guess, I would imagine it’s because this is eating off skin cells like it does hair. But it feels nice! I have only had one can but I used it all really quickly testing it out so I thought I might share my limited knowledge in case it helps someone.
DONE #HAIRPROBS My worst experience was with Nair and my “nether regions” (front and back lol) OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE I’M SHARING THIS! So I decided to use it “there” even though it says right on the bottle NOT to SMH 🤦♀️, keep in mind that I was only 19 and thought I knew better than everything and everyone else lol! So at any rate I’m all slathered up and waiting for the time to be up, oh yeah and I also decided that it would work better if it stayed on longer than the directions said 🤦♀️🤦♀️. So yeah all slathered up and it starts to BURN!!!!!! I’m not talking about the skin on the sides or in front, but the “IN BETWEEN” because yes I went there….. But beauty is pain kept ringing through my head so I just waited…… Yeah so when I rinsed it all off everything was bright red, evidently I gave myself a chemical burn from stem to stern…. Dresses and skirts were a way of life till I could at least tolerate underwear….. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ It was so gross!! I even peeled!! Well I don’t know if you wanted that detailed of a recount or not but that’s what ya got lol. Hopefully other young people read this and it makes them think twice about making the same mistake I did.
“Done” I’m actually a hair removal specialist! (Waxer) and one time I did a Brazilian on a client and I removed the wax so fast and quick it fell out of my hand and onto the ceiling! 10 foot ceilings. I actually had to get the maintenance ladder and remove a hairy wax strip off the ceiling.. this actually happened more then once 🤦♀️ LocNessaMonster
Oh my goodness!!! I now know the world is back to normal!!! My guys are back!!! Strange and unusual, but back!!! I know people have changed a little over the three months we’ve been locked up, but uhhh……..🤪!!! So very glad to see you again!!! It’s been a long three months!!! God bless you both!!! With love always!!!❤️🐸😘💜💜💜
I remember waxing my legs for the first time after trying an epilator (which hurt like hell)😰😠, bottle of red wine in one hand applying wax with the other, it went like this ……big glug of wine then ripping wax strip off, glug then rip, glug then rip, by the secong leg I was drunk so I went into the shower and shaved it haha. Next morning hangover from hell with bloodied leg from ripping strip off and razor cuts on the other leg. I just stuck with shaving ever since lol.
When i was a teenager, i talked my mom into waxing our mustaches. Im 40 now, so this was before the internet and tutorials. We got the wax on all thick and spotty, and after the appropriate time, went to take it off. Right from the first attempt at pulling up a corner, we knew we f’d up. What followed was hours of painful tugging, we cried and thought about leaving it. We figured out later that we should have bought strips to use with it.😖 Hilarious article guys!!!
Done!! When I was 12 I attempted my first leg wax whilst staying at a friends house, with a Nair Wax pot that you microwave. I accidentally microwaved it too long and I ignored the applicator stick that said “too hot” when I dipped it into the wax. Well I went to apply the wax on my leg and it was so hot!! It burnt me so bad! My reaction was to jump which resulted in my dropping the ENTIRE POT of boiling wax onto my foot, toes and my friends long shag pile carpet ☹️ I ended up with blisters and bubbling skin and a horrible story to tell mum when I told her about ruining my friends carpet 😫 Funnily enough, I am now a teacher at a beauty school teaching girls how to wax!! KirstyCatania
Left the Nair bottle in the shower. Young son decides to be a big boy and shower by himself using the Nair as shampoo.😱 so great he told us what he had done right after we find him in the shower. I proceeded to clean that boy head to toe hoping all his hair doesn’t fallout. Last time that bottle was ever left alone in the shower. His hair was fine, he’s now 23, with a great head of hair. A story to tell throughout his years. Love your vids great to see your back at it. Stay safe.
“Done” this experience must be about 15 years ago, my sister was moving to New Zealand for a few months, we are from ireland, her boyfriend was already out there, so she hadn’t seen him in about 2 months, so eh she just took a break from shaving her legs I suppose 😅 so the night before she was to head off, she asked me to wax her legs, super hairy !! Well I laughed so much as she screamed in terror, our poor grandad walked in, looked horrified didnt say anything and just walked back out 😂 it was a good laugh be fore she headed off to New Zealand, although I dont think my sister thought the same 😂
“Done” Never had a “bad” shaving experience. I started shaving legs in 3rd grade due to being a gymnast with older girls. Regret starting so young. When mom found out 2 years later she had me try to use Nair. Found out my skin hates that product and actually burned my skin. Pretty painful and red for a week. Lesson learned. Angela_Barrington#3267
Done! My worst hair removal story is definitely when I ended up giving myself a fairly large (about 6 inch long) scab on my leg after attempting an at-home wax. I knew I had sensitive skin but this was how I learned just how sensitive it was. It did not hurt at all until several hours later but the damage was already done. My leg was scabbed for several weeks before it completely healed. You live and you learn I guess
DONE! My worst hair removal is also my first. My mom had me try Nair when I was in 5th grade, and we left it on too long so my legs started burning and itching and when we finally got it all off I was chemically burned on both of my shins. I went to school in shorts because pants hurt them, and everyone thought I was disgusting and had a disease that was contagious so I was avoided by my whole grade at recess for 2 weeks.
My worst experience with hair experience was when I last used Nair. I applied and then waited the amount of time it suggested. When I removed the Nair, I noticed the rash on my legs. For some reason, after about three years of using it, I had an allergic reaction. I had welts and very red, tender skin for about two weeks. 😐 I mean, the bonus of it, is that I haven’t had much hair grow on my legs since then.
You guys are great! I did a hole body hair removal. It took 2 tubes to cover my body. I did it in one go, not in section. Big mistake. I did not read the directions till after I applied it all over. First mistake was, I applied it to places that it said not to and got a very bad chemical burn on my twig and berries. Second mistake was I left it on to long. My tub drain was clogged from the all the hair. It was in the dead of summer I had to walk around like I road a horse for 2 weeks and had scabs on my twig and berries. My coworker will bring it up now and then. Worse idea I had about removing my body hair.
First, my name is Bridget 😂😂. I LOL’d all the way through this article!!!😂😂😂. My WORST hair removal experience BY FAR was when I almost shaved my own damn nipple off shaving my armpits!! Lmao. My husband still razz’s me about that!! Lol🙊🙊🙊🙊. It was like a drive-by de-nippling lol. Needless to say…. I take my time now and watch where that razor is every second it is in my hand. Lol. Thanks for making me laugh so hard. I needed this right now!!❤
I love you guys and I love that stuff. Your supposed to keep it moist through the process and one can is just enough for my arms legs and somewhere else. It’s amazing I just wash it off in the shower. It does leave your hands feeling weird but I’ve never had hair left over. Y’all didn’t use enough. And my worst experience was the first time I used an epilator. Those things are a nightmare. I’d never shaved my pits before and ran it through. I bled for a day and couldn’t put my arms down for 4 days.
oh my gosh, it’s been so LONG XD could not stop laughing the whole time this was going on XD #HairProbs kinda embarrassing, but was sleeping over my friends house a few years ago and we decided it would be fun to try waxing for the first time (melting wax yourself), of course we jumped right in to try a bikini wax … we ran out of strips on my turn so I had to pick the wax out in clumps myself XD ;-; never again XD
I have been using the black and gold can of Magic Shave for several months. I have not used the white and red tube he is using. I use it EVERYWHERE (legs, arms, underarms, chest, nutz) on my body except for my face because I have a beard but. I do use it on my neck without any problems but my razor works better on my neck. But for the rest of my body this is the way to go! I use it on my “boys” without any issues whatsoever. The only place that I experienced irritation is the area around the taint and the fold where my legs meet my butt. I leave it on for 7 minutes. Most people think it’s only for black guys but I’m white so go for it. I love it.
I was on the floor crying! 😂This was so funny, I missed these articles! Hair removal lesson 101….. I thought I’d save time shaving 🪒 and bought some nair cream! Well let’s just say I found out why a patch test is so important! I washed the cream off and the hair was gone! Great, only my skin was swollen and slowly getting bumpier by the second! I was covered in a fire red rash!😂 Not so funny at the time. I was going on a first date with a guy I really liked!! He just laughed when I showed him. He was really nice about it. So…. patch tests! So happy men try articles are back!!!
Woo, entered! That was so hilarious! But I hope you NEVER have to go through what I did.. My worst hair removal experience meant I have never ever tried to wax anything again.. The first (and last) time I ever went to have my legs waxed, I was actually a bit sunburnt and I didn’t realise. When the hair came of.. so did the first few layers of skin. OUCH. Since then I have been far too afraid to ever try waxing again – even if I haven’t had my limbs exposed to sun for months.
you guys are the funniest guys! omgosh! the worst experience I had with shaving experience is when I went to Korea and asked to get my legs waxed. I didn’t know in Korea they don’t really do a lot of waxing but instead they do a lot of threading but she took out her wax machine and started to place the wax on my legs and placed TISSUE PAPER on top of the wax and I’m sure if you put two and two together you can imagine my horror sitting there with wax that is now covered in tissue paper so it makes it impossible to take off.
At the age of 15, I decided to use Nair on my bikini region as well as my armpits. It was specially formulated for “sensitive areas”. I ended up with chemical burns on BOTH areas. To make matters worse, I was going swimming with a bunch of friends including the guy I had a major crush on. I didn’t even have a coverup. That pool was nice and cool, but not on my parts. I toughed it out, because it was better than my crush seeing my red nethers.
You guys are so funny! My worst hair removal story was my first and only adventure waxing my legs. I put on the wax, rubbed on the provided fabric, then…..RIIIIP!! Off came the wax on the fabric, with a few hairs here and there, but worst of all…arrgh…I was bleeding!!! Little spots of blood sprang up everywhere! And it stung so bad! No more wax for me!!!
DONE! there was this one time I was shaving (let’s not say where) and I had a mole there. I’ve shaved over it multiple times before without anything happening to it, but it’s been sticking out upwards more and more and one time I nearly shaved it off. It didn’t hurt with the actual shaving, but just the sheer fear I shaved off a part of my skin was just frightening and went total NOPE. It kept bleeding as well and I was foolish enough not to have bandages. Worst thing that happened so far.
My worst hair removal experience was at a figure and day spa. I wanted to get my sideburns and eyebrows waxed and the technician got wax IN MY HAIR! They called the owner in to help salvage my hair and came up with some weird solution to soften the wax so they could wash it out without yanking out a chunk of my super long hair. My eyebrows were on fleek though.
The second time I shaved my legs, the shaver/razor acted like a peeler and shaved off a very long strip of skin off the front of my lower leg! The strip was as wide as the razor and the length of the part of my leg from below my knee to my upper ankle area. It just stung a little and luckily I was young enough that it didn’t scar at all. But it was disturbing.
DONE! My worst experience is a tie. 1) using Nair creme for the first time, at 15, and when I went to wipe it off the hair just STRETCHED instead of coming off! It didn’t break off, it stayed like that and I had to shave it off! 2) I was 13 and angry at my mom, went to shave before swimming and pushed the razor a bit too hard going up my shin. I took a 2 inch long slice off skin off, which got stuck in the razor. I of course didn’t know that, because I was freaking out over the crazy bleeding! Later that day my sister found the razor in the shower… with my skin still attached!
My worst hair removal experience was when I found out I was allergic to it and gave my arms and legs chemical burns in the 7th grade before I really needed to use hair removal of any kind honestly I was bright red and botchy for 2 weeks and then all the dead skin peeled off and I was fine and have always done a patch test first.
Done! I’m not sure if you’ve ever tried to wax yourself in the land down under but I sure tried to do it myself when I was younger. I waxed my own armpits so I didn’t think it’d be too bad but I was so wrong. The first quick yank I had to stop halfway through cause it hurt way more than what I was expecting. I was home with my mom and called her over to the bathroom crying, I don’t know if I ever heard her laugh so hard at something stupid I did but she passed some olive oil through the door to loosen the wax so that was sure something.
My worst hair removing situation was probably in grade nine? We didn’t have anywhere to put down our razors in the shower, so I’d usually hold it with the handle in my palm, but razor head sticking between my fingers (so the blades were resting atop of my fingers like a multi-finger ring). It would allow to to grab things and rub shaving cream on my legs without putting down/loosing my razor. So this time, I was spraying the shaving cream into my hand and I sneezed, getting some on my forehead. So I used the back of hand to wipe it away, forgetting about the razor. SSHNNNK! I took off my eyebrow in the process. My brows are thick and dark; not at all easy to hide or recreate when you have no bangs. Another time, I had my leg up on the wall to shave, sneezed my self forward where I head-butted my knee/kneed myself in the face, lost the support, and fell forward while in the tub. Came out of that with both of my eye brows though. Shaving is dangerous #hairprobs
Oh my gosh I missed y’all so much! I think the “sass” built up from not recording for so long! 🤣 and the extra little editing touches were top notch!! Extra funny stuff right there! My worst hair removal story would have to be the first time I used Nair. I was maybe 15 and didn’t think I needed to read the instructions thoroughly and left it on for too long and ended up with horrible chemical burns all over my legs! I still have a scar on my knee from it over 15 years later! I have definitely learned my lesson lol #hairprobs
Hahahahaha 😂Thanx for the laugh i really needed that! Oh i tried the hair removal Veet…It sucks, and the wax they have sucks to. Tried wax my legs with that shit and yeah I didn’t just loose my hair, i lost some skin to. And i cursed like hell. I wonder what the neighbours thought🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙈Well i cried i laughed and cursed.
I had a few bad experiences with hair removal. When I had extra sensitive skin so a lot of the lotions and creams that you supposed to put on to remove hair without a razor ended up irritating my skin or breaking me out in rashes or welts. The worst one was Nair and I not only had a bad reaction but it smelled awful and it was just the most atrocious thing I’ve ever done in my life to my body and I shave with a razor because of my sensitive skin. When I put Nair on I end up having the odor just assault me in then as I put it on my legs only started feeling a little warm but I was told that that is a possibility that it should be that way so I just went ahead and finish putting her on it as I waited for it to do its thing it started to go from worm you hot to burning and when I ended up taking it off I had welts and rash and just really red angry legs that were not happy. I had to get the strongest and the only cream that I could use is a like antihistamine type thing like that’s Desitin or that kind of thing to counteract the allergic reaction or irritation. After I got my prescription I got it I had to take Benadryl for a whole day and a half and I put this cream on daily several times a day for about a week. The only other one. I had a really bad bad issue with I mean I had other body issues but this is deeper of the two worst is the one with the wax in The Ripping. One thing I have baby fine hair in so it’s really hard to get all the hair sometimes like with the razor and that I was told that the wax would work better so I did this thing and pulled it up and hurts where the problem is he took off about half and I go back several times to get hair that missed.
I have dark, coarse hair, and when in high school, I decided to try Nair, on my VERY SENSETIVE SKIN. I slathered every hairy place, from my armpits down, and ended up with fiery red, blistered skin, right before a trip to the beach, where I proceeded, to get a sunburn, on top of the blisters. Fun times….
My #hairprobs happened a month into me dating, my now husband. I bought this at how was strip kit. Apparently I didn’t warm up the strip enough so when I went balls to the wall full force ripping that crap off my bikini line, it barely came off! After finally removing it I saw that the hair was STILL THERE along with instant black bruising! I’ve often thought about rockin the 60s bush after the PTSD from that whole situation! Loved the article! I was dying laughing!
My worst experience I had was I used an air bladeless hair removal kit I put it on my legs and I waited however long and when I looked to take it off I was bleeding and it came with a razor that didn’t have blades on it and I used it like I was supposed to and it still gave me razor burn but the cream actually made my skin bleed
