Does Spell Bfa Damage Depend On Weaponry?

The Battle for Azeroth Alpha (BFA) has changed the formula for spells, affecting only melee auto attack hits and reducing the impact of damage on other classes. Spell damage is calculated based on dice shown on the spell, and it is the highest source of damage increase on most melee classes. Damaged spells and abilities can cause a target to ooze blood, dealing 70 of Attack Power or 70 of Spell Power damage over 7 seconds. Casters are not affected by this change, as their spells currently gain no value from weapon damage on live or in the Battle for Azeroth Alpha.

Class abilities that formerly scaled with weapon damage now scale with Attack Power. Many spells from Build 26010 specify that while active, offensive spells and abilities sometimes increase Mastery, Haste, or Critical Strike by 100, stacking up to 5 times. The highest stat is always chosen.

Spell damage is only affected by +skills on the weapon, synergies in the skill tree, or the spell level itself in the tree. Weapon-based damage is not affected by physical/magic spell damage, and weapon damage does not affect the damage done to skeletons, golems, poison, and bone spells.

The only effect your weapon has on spells are the stats on it, like intellect or haste. Weapon damage and speed do not work for you. The game is skewed towards melee and away from spells, and there is no way to make “+ Enhanced Damage” work on spells.

Does weapon matter in BG3?

In BG3, weapon proficiency is crucial for effective weapon use. Proficiency comes from your Class, Race, or a Feat, and it is a flat bonus that scales off your level. Weapons use either your Dexterity or Strength modifier for both the Attack Roll and Damage Roll. Ranged weapons use Dexterity, while Melee weapons use Strength and generally have a range of 5ft. “Finesse” Melee Weapons use whichever Ability stat is higher – Dexterity or Strength. Thrown Melee weapons can be turned into a ranged weapon and can use Strength instead of Dex.

To gain proficiency, choose Ranged or Finesse Melee weapons if you have high Dexterity, but any Melee Weapon if you have high Strength. Compare weapons as you acquire them to compare range, damage, and special qualities.

Finesse weapons use the higher score between Dexterity and Strength when calculating the Attack Roll and Damage Roll. Thrown weapons can be turned into a ranged weapon and can use Strength instead of Dex. Versatile weapons can be two-handed or single-handed, with two-handed weapons dealing more damage. Light weapons can be dual-wielded.

These lists are adapted from the D and D Player’s Handbook, but not all information has been verified.

Does adds damage apply to spells?

A local modifier on a weapon only counts the weapon’s damage, while global modifiers work with attacks or spells. Local modifiers increase the weapon’s attack damage but do not affect spell casting. Global modifiers, on the other hand, work with all actions related to attacks or spells. Some global modifiers, such as the “Adds 1 to 160 Lightning Damage if you haven’t Killed Recently” enchantment on boots, come from jewels or passive tree skillpoints and have a “global” tag. This can be confusing, as it can be confusing to understand the difference between local and global modifiers.

Does enhanced damage apply to spells?

The ED statistic is exclusively applicable to physical damage inflicted by weapons; it does not extend to elemental damage from jewels or magical abilities. Nevertheless, the presence of rainbow facets has been observed to enhance the potency of elemental damage. Furthermore, Concentration Aura ED enhances the damage inflicted by the Blessed Hammer, though it is not a weapon attack or a physical one.

What does 1d10 1d8 mean in BG3?

In order to determine the damage inflicted by an attack, two dice are rolled. The 1d10 die results in 5 points of physical damage, while the 1d8 die results in 8 points of psychic damage.

What is the best weapon for spellcasters in BG3?

Baldur’s Gate 3 offers various weapons for spellcasters, including the Spellsparkler, Staff of Arcane Blessing, Staff of Interruption, Mourning Frost, Woe, Staff of Spellpower, and Markoheshkir. These weapons can increase the efficiency of spells and provide extra spells. They are best for Sorcerers, but can be useful for Wizards, Warlocks, or Monks. Spell attacks work similarly to weapon attacks, meaning a bonus increases the chance of hitting your spell attack. These weapons are best for Sorcerers, but can also be useful for Wizards and Warlocks depending on your build.

Can I use weapons if I’m not proficient in BG3?

Characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 can use weapons without proficiency, but they miss out on two important bonuses: Proficiency Bonus to Attack Rolls and Weapon Action. Proficiency in a weapon unlocks its unique ability. There are three types of armor: Light Armor, Medium Armor, and Heavy Armor. Light Armor is low AC armor that allows players to add their full Dexterity modifier, Medium Armor is moderate AC armor that allows players to add a max of +2 Dexterity and sometimes gives disadvantage on Stealth checks, and Heavy Armor is high AC armor that always gives disadvantage on Stealth checks.

Do spells get critical damage?

In DND 5e, spells that require an attack roll, such as the Firebolt cantrip, can critically hit. However, spells relying on a saving throw, like Sacred Flame, cannot crit. To guarantee a critical hit, exploit conditions like Paralysed and Unconscious, which automatically make attacks into critical hits. Gaining an advantage on attack rolls can also increase the chance of getting a critical hit, such as flanking, using the Greater Invisibility spell, or using class-specific abilities like Reckless Attack.

Does weapon and spell damage affect healing?

The damage inflicted by weapons and spells is increased by the damage of light and heavy attacks, as well as the majority of proc sets. However, there is a limit to this scaling. An increase in weapon and spell damage (WD/SD) results in a corresponding enhancement of damage inflicted by skills, light and heavy attacks, and healing.

Does weapon damage affect spells in BG3?

The dice on a weapon refers to the damage done with melee or ranged attacks, and is affected by strength and dexterity. Some weapons, like the Mourning Frost, add additional melee damage but do not directly affect spell damage. Spells are not weapon attacks and have their own damage dice. Some weapons, like the Spellsparkler, indirectly affect spells, such as the Spellsparkler, which grants lightning charges on successful casts. The Mourning Frost, for example, deals 1 additional cold damage, affecting cold damage from any source, including a spell.

Does weapon matter for wizard bg3?

In Baldur’s Gate 3, wizards have the largest pool of magic available, relying on their magical abilities in combat. They have a forceful spell arsenal and extensive knowledge of the arcane. Various weapons can enhance their magical abilities, such as the Staff of Crones, Melf’s First Staff, and Mourning Frost. Powerful weapons like the Staff of the Emperor, The Spellsparkler, and Markoheshkir provide unique abilities and bonuses for wizards. Although they don’t deal much damage in melee combat, wizards can find compatible weapons, particularly those proficient in quarterstaves, to heighten their power as they travel to Baldur’s Gate.

Does rage spell increase damage?

The Rage Spell is a spell that increases the damage of each unit by a fixed percentage, which increases as the spell upgrades. It is the third spell unlocked when the Spell Factory is level 3 or above, requiring the Town Hall to be at least level 7. It creates a translucent purple ring on the battlefield that boosts the movement speed and damage of friendly Troops and Heroes inside the ring. Healers also gain healing by a similar amount. The Rage Spell’s effect lasts for 18 seconds, but has a reduced effect on Heroes, only granting 50 of its damage and speed boosts.

Siege Machines cannot be affected by the Rage Spell. Once a troop leaves the Rage Spell’s area of effect or if the duration expires, the rage effect will wear off until they return or another Rage Spell is cast. The damage increase is additive, meaning troops under the influence of a level 1 Rage Spell do 130 more damage than those without. The Rage Spell is less effective when placed on low-damage troops like Archers, as they do not do much damage compared to higher-damaged troops like Wizards.

  • Well, i have a trouble with sim. I’m outlaw, 361 ilvl, 24% crit, 20 hast, 2 poly, 18 mastery. When i sim my character, raidbot tell me mastery are better than haste. Mastery for outlaw… seems the worst stat. Weapon DPS 9.15 Agility 1.89 Versatility 1.64 Critical Strike 1.58 Off Hand Weapon DPS 1.39 Mastery 1.18 Haste 0.95 So, i know my charactec miss many versatility but mastery ? Better than haste ?
