I hate how Catholics pretend their teachings are “so ancient”. Catholicism started to exist in 1054 from the Great Schism, when they devided from Eastern Orthodoxy which is the beginning of Christianity where the true teachings by Christ are still practiced today, a true spirituality. As a former Catholic and now a born again Christian since 1983, you lost me three minutes into this article. Ever since I was saved in 1983, I have never been able or even wanted to go inside a Catholic church. I researched the beginnings of Catholicism a long time ago with the intent to prove to the remaineder of my Catholic siblings and other relatives. Catholicism is a combination of Christianity and paganism, mostly paganism. It is a mother/son cult going back to the times of Nimrod and his mother in Babylon. I don’t even believe Constantine was a true Christian convert either. His mother maybe, but I don’t think he was. There is historical history of the apostle Paul behing beheaded in Rome, but so far I haven’t found anything historical about Peter ever being there, but who’s to say. Paul was specifically chosen to preach the gospel to the gentiles, even though he also preached to the Jews first. The only incident I know of where Peter preached to the gentiles was to Cornelius after he saw the vision of unclean things. Over the years, especially in the dark ages, Pope Leo had to come up with something to link him to Peter and so he falsified so called Catholic “historical” documentation to directly link him to Peter. Everyone should do their own research.

Jesus never placed Peter in a position of command over the other apostles. Jesus is and always has been the only supreme leader of the Church. Did Jesus make Peter Pope? No, Jesus did not make Peter Pope. On the contrary, He said that no one should want to be greater than others. According to Jesus, leadership is serving others, not bossing them around. But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi’; you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. Do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither are you to be called ‘leaders,’ for you have one Leader, the Christ. The greatest among you must be your servant. Matthew 23:8-11 Those who say that Jesus made Peter Pope use three passages from the Bible: 1) Matthew 16:17-19, where Jesus calls Simon Peter; 2) Luke 22:31-32, where Jesus tells Peter to strengthen his brothers; and 3) John 21:15-17, when Jesus tells Peter to take care of his sheep. Jesus does not place Peter as the leader in Matthew’s text. Peter has an important part in the foundation of the church, but it is Jesus who builds it. Jesus is the cornerstone, fundamental to the church, not Peter. Peter himself said that all believers are stones in the building of the church! Jesus did not give the keys of the Kingdom to Peter alone. In Matthew 18:18, He gives the same authority to all disciples, the authority to proclaim the gospel and ask for things from God.
