Does The Rellana Cameo Impact Incantations And Spells?

Rellana’s Cameo is a new Talisman in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, found in Castle Ensis, one of the first locations of Shadow of the Erdtree. It enhances attacks executed after maintaining the same stance for a while, useful for Weapon Skills and Ashes of War. Players can use this talisman to boost a weapon’s damage and increase its damage impact.

Rellana’s Cameo slows down the pace and allows players to “charge” their stances by holding them active for a second before engaging. The talisman also increases the damage inflicted by 15 after holding a stance for 1.5 seconds. To get Rellana’s Cameo, players must make it to Castle Ensis.

The Talisman is best combined with Rellana’s Twin and can be applied to various weapons and skills. To my knowledge, only Clawmark Seal and Frenzied Flame Seal get any spell boost from Strength, and this only applies to damaging Incantations.

In summary, Rellana’s Cameo is a new Talisman in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, enhancing attacks executed after maintaining the same stance for a while. Players can use this talisman to boost their weapon skills and ashes of war.

What does Rellanas cameo boost?

The Rellana’s Cameo Talisman is a powerful tool for players who frequently use stances. It provides a boost in damage output when holding a stance, akin to a red aura that appears around the player after two seconds of holding in a stance. This aura remains until the player attacks or breaks their stance. Players can continue holding their stance, ensuring they receive the first hit without losing the damage boost.

This simple-to-use boost in damage is ideal for those using stances like Ash of War: Wing Stance, as the change time is minimal and almost unnoticeable for those not trying to work a stance into an active combo.

What does Rellenas Cameo work on?

Rellana’s Cameo is an advantageous enhancement that can be utilized to augment attacks that are executed after maintaining a consistent stance. This is a beneficial strategy for those engaged in Weapon Skills and Ashes of War, as it allows players to maintain a stance until they are prepared to unleash it.

How much does rellenas cameo increase damage?

The latest patch of the game has introduced a psychotic buff to the talisman, reducing its charge activation time to about 6 seconds. This buff increases damage by 45, and when combined with Alexander’s Jar Shard, it increases damage by 67 before any additional buffs. This change is a significant improvement from the long charge time on the original game, which was intended for use with stance weapons in the next playthrough.

What is the purpose of a Cameo?

A cameo in movies and TV is a brief appearance or role performed by a well-known actor or celebrity, often uncredited and unexpected, adding an element of surprise to the narrative. The significance lies in the recognition factor and the impact it has on the audience. Cameos can be performed by actors playing themselves or in character, and are typically used to enhance the viewer experience or add a certain flavor to the storyline. The term “cameo” originated from a method of carving, where an object like a gem or stone is engraved to reveal a design in relief.

The concept of a cameo in performance arts borrows from this idea, providing a “relief” or a distinct element within the larger narrative. The use of the term in the film and television industry began around the mid-20th century and has since become a popular trope in storytelling.

  • I might’ve missed it if you mentioned it, but it’s worth noting that equipping these swords in your left hand uses the fire sword primarily, using it in your right uses the magic sword (obviously if it’s in your offhand, it’s still an offhand) so I’ve been using Milady in my primary slot and swapping that between frost or holy, and you have the option of using fire/magic, fire/holy, etc. You can just mix n match between the 3 swords based on where they’re equipped. Might be too obvious but just something I’m having heaps of fun playing with

  • Hello. I just want to say that your articles are very helpful and straight to the point. But I just wanted to ask if you can make an updated dragon incantation build with the new incantations that the dragon communion got. I understand that it takes a lot of effort to make these articles but I feel like you make the best build articles that I have seen personally. Again thank you very much.

  • I definitely think this is where I will pivot to once I have felt like I have done all I need to with farming cool enemies for drops with the Arcane build I went into the DLC with on purpose. It’s just such a cool and flexible weapon. Very few things will resist physical, fire, and magic at the same levels.

  • Very cool build! I started with my dex/arcane guy so obviously he’s not suited for this.. But I have my “everything bagel” wizard in the wings just WAITING for this weapon. She already puts the Prince of Death staff to good use, and I couldn’t contain my excitement when I saw this. (Now if we could just steal her boss music for our own character…)

  • This could possibly be the BEST weapon in the GAME… My only complaint is, it does more Elemental Damage compared to Physical Damage – LOW POISE DAMAGE – if this weapon get a Poise Buff – it will be devastating. Yet, it scales better with Str/Dex – most enemies/bosses are weak against Physical type damage, so this weapon will shine the BEST in certain situations. To get the most damage output from this weapon – you will need to balance Str/Dex/Int/faith – example, 80str/80dex/80Int/80Faith…

  • This is a very stat hungry build so if you want to stay at level 150, it might be a good idea to use Radagon’s Soreseal on top of Godrick’s rune to further enhance your attributes. I’m able to get to the 55 STR/DEX soft cap while maintaining the reccomended INT/FTH values in the guide by allocating some points from Endurance and Mind. Soreseal also helps make up for the stats allocated out of Endurance to make this work as far as Stamina management goes

  • I lowkey wish there would be an option to have one of these swords separated from another. Dont get me wrong, these two paired are damn cool, but the magic sword would absolutely fit to my current character, but i have literally 7 points in faith (what do you expect from an melee int build?). Also i dont really understand why someone related to Caria is using a weapon that requires faith and deals fire damage, but thats probably just me

  • This weapon really starts to shine in a level 200+ build. I have 40 str, 30 dex, 38 int, and 42 fth, which allows you to use damn near any weapon in the game if the Twin Blades are a bad fit for the encounter. I pair the Twin Blades with a greatshield with Shield Bash equipped, to give myself a safe interrupter attack that has good poise damage (something the twin blades are absolutely terrible at with standard attacks).

  • This weapon reminds me of the Blueblood Sword in the Original Demons Souls game, in that, both of these require str/dex/Int/Fth in order to use the weapon properly. The Blue blood Sword did high Poise damage, and you were able to buff it…. Those were the good ole days of Demons Souls… :face-red-heart-shape:

  • Bit weird putting hardly anything into Int/Faith, but ur using the weapon arts so much (as you should with this weapon). You would do like 20%-25% more damage with the weapon arts specing into int or faith instead. Then you could use talismans (rotten insignia, prosthesis, etc) to increase the base melee damage, instead of using talisman space to increase skill damage by only 15% (shard of alexander)

  • Does the damage shown in the menu reflect the damage dealt by each sword? It should deal both magic damage and fire damage, but from the effects it is clear that a sword only deals magic damage while the other only fire damage, but this way it wouldn’t deal the damage shown so how does each sword’s damage work?

  • Ok i used this build for a while and it has been horrendously bad. Like soul suckingly bad, it does not do enough damage nor does it have enough mobility in the combos which results in quick deaths most times. If i want to sacrifice my mobility and defensive options i would pick a weapon that does way more damage. Like dual weilding something. I dont know if its a terrible build or a terrible weapon. Im leaning toward the latter. Was really looking forward to the build article for this weapon.

  • I decided that I’d use a DLC weapon for my Carian Champion build And holy good lord in heaven, this weapon fits it well I’m not dealing a lot of damage with my basic attacks, but then again, I need a LOT of Intelligence to use my spells, but if I focus my remaining efforts on Dexterity and Strength, I should be dealing decent basic attack damage by the time I reach level 200 Just in time to beat Radahn, and then put Radagon in the trash again

  • I don’t think weapon is going to be good, specially in NG. Scales with 4 different stats, and not that strong, and it’s also a triple damage spread, which isn’t ideal either (unless you want to focus on one of the swords, but why do that to begin with) Reminds me of the dancer sword of DS3, really cool weapon, but sadly trash tier because of the damage split and subpar scaling.

  • Does anyone know how the L2+R1 light wave attack chain combo ends with a spinning slash variant? Normally its five slashes of waves but somehow the last attack i was doing was a spinning slash completely different from normal chain. It was a unique attack and i found it much more reliable and intuitive than the fifth light wave attack that even has a slight delay in execution. I cant seem to find any information on this variant of the chain attack. Wondering what caused it.

  • You know what I have noticed, is that whenever I try to attack, my combo is slower, I don’t know how I got it last time, but I was attacking with both blades and obviously the combos were more flashy and faster, but I can’t do it no more, idk if I explained myself, my combos as of right now are nothing like the ones you showed that are fast and uses both blades, wtf am I doing wrong?

  • I have tried the build for the whole of today, 5-6 hours. It is enjoyable but not that strong, especially for boss fights. It’s fun and quite strong for clearing non-boss mobs, but it becomes weak with stronger mobs with more hp. Defo interesting and fun! Thanks for the vid! Would like to hear others comments on the build

  • how to get most out of the weapon stat wise? Step 1: be level 500+… Step 2: you know whats next 😀 BUT to be actually honest, imo the best way to use this weapon is full magic build. L2-R1 magic waves deal great damage, have nice range, are amazing in meele range where blade and projectile both hits, and cost only 10FP which is awesome. Focusing mainly on magic damage allows you to use scorpion charm and tear for great effect, possibly with spellblade set and other magic increasing gear. So going like 60vig, 25 end, 20str, 20 dex, 10 or 25 faith (for buffs) and 60+ intelligence is imo way to go for this weapon at level 150. Benefit is that you can also just 1h so you are not using your inferior second sword at all. Then just spam stance R1 ideally in meele range and go to town.

  • Her weapon in my opinion just really isn’t worth it. Generally, when a weapon specializes in four categories you would look for which category it specializes in the most, unfortunately for this weapon it scales with all four categories equally. Making this a stat hungry weapon and practically forces you to farm endlessly for runes just to really make the build work. Seriously, I tried to make a build with these swords work, but unfortunately it just doesn’t, and I had all four stats at 50 and the swords themselves upgraded to max. It’s just not worth it.

  • Hello 👋 I would like to left some question about Rellana’s Cameo. As you said the damage of Rellana’s Cameo is +20% and Shard of Alexander is +15% based on Elden Ring wiki. But I already tried damage test play between these 2 Talismans and the increased damage are the same. I want to know if I use Rellana’s Cameo wrong to not made it meet the max increased damage or not. I would like to know comparison damage test play of Rellana’s Cameo VS. Shard of Alexander to sort things out Maybe it might have some trick to use and i missed it 🥺 Thanks a lot !!!

  • It doesn’t matter how many points is in what. The new scaling system makes points null and void. I’m level 478 and I get 1/2 shot and do no damage. Think my blessing is plus 4 but it’s a terrible system. So tell me straight that I’ve wasted my time levelling to 478. When I get that confirmation I’m done with this game.

  • Immediately fell in love with how these looked the first teaser I saw of them. Finally got the DLC and beat her (only took me 1.5 hours trying to kill her) and … Yeah, Milady is just better for me. Kinda fun powerstancing cold milady with the fire to reset frost, but I really was sadly underwhelmed. Even had run my fresh DLC build as Night and Flame to get used to the int/fth deal

  • I’m lvl 326, 60 str, 40 dex, 35 fai and 70 int. I’m using it with Night Comet as my ranged weapon with a +25 Staff of Loss and I already upgraded the blades to +10 too and I’m running it with that ridiculous armor set you get from that ghost guy in the first area, the one that also gives a greatsword… The DLC went from pretty hard to easy real quick lol. I’m not invincible but as close as can be. This might be the new meta weapon. I can’t imagine anything more powerful, versatile, satisfying and more badass. That said, it’s only the second Remembrance boss lol. Can’t wait to find out what else the game has in store

  • I ended up respecing and lost around 30 points of stats. I even had a rune arc and a scarseal equipped to make sure im not crazy. Now im stuck with a blood Milady missing out on extra points of damage from Arcane while still having the stats boasted in this article Edit: even when allocating all the stats presented in the article, I am missing a LOT of points. What I’m trying to say, is the respeccing mechanic in this game is broken. Or is there something I am missing?

  • I respect to drop my int from 80 to 72 (so i can still use all the spells) and dumped em into dex. Dex is only at 27 but now ive got a fun and very capable sword to use as my caster for when i run low on fp or a boss rushes me too much for spells. Another option and playstyle that still keeps the magic aspect without me needing a full respec to have fun. My vigor is only 40 and endurance is at 20 so after i het dex to 30 i may bolster the endurance stat a bit and then vigor, then start on strength bc thats at minimum rn. Im not great with dark souls stuffs so just wondering if this is a good plan ?

  • If anyone is struggling with Rellana herself If you genuinely want to brute force it, stack Vigor and Strength and grab the Anvil Hammer Her poise is both a lot but also not a lot mimic tear and feda alongside you can help trade blows but be wary you still will need to adapt and dodge Physick had on were the negation and stance break Just brunt through most of her attacks and dodge the magic, you’ll be fine (ish, took me a couple attempts6

  • Try to loved this weapon but i don’t know. Normal and strong is fine but the ability is kinda bad. The fire is hit or miss, the blade start-up is slow, don’t stun and not good for boss fight. I mean if beam blade is what you are looking for, moonveil or moonlight kinda does it better. Also this build is kinda split into you either doing dex/str or Int/faith and doing it with a staff. You could try a hybird build but then you are kinda wasting point on 4 different things.

  • If you want to scale the skill pump faith or int and where shard of Alex . If you want to play this as an AR build stack Str And Dex and use your consecutive attacks talisman. I don’t really understand why he is doing the opposite here. And the weapon actually scales better with int and or faith as a primary if you are doing a skill spam style.

  • I’m running your death sorcery build that you previously went over in one of your articles. 80 int 80 faith with the prince of death staff. Was using sword of night and flame but switched to these twin blades. The build is so fun to use because I can use sorceries, incantations and the special skills of those twin blades.

  • For a better stat spread I reccomend going with Vagabond and the following stats; Vigor: 60 Mind: 21 Endurance: 30 Strength: 30 Dexterity: 40 Intelligence: 16 Faith: 25 This will give you quite a bit more physical damage but sacrifice a bit of Mind, I would just use the carina filigreed crest to counteract that.

  • is it just me, or are the stances impossible to hold and still get the light attack on keyboard and mouse? idk how ppl are doing it, usually the only way i can get the light attack to happen is either by quickly tapping light attack as soon as i start the stance, or very rarely if i do a light attack just as i stop holding the stance. i think it’s because of the binds making ash of wars activate on shift and rightclick, with shift being the heavy attack button, is there a way to get around this or am i just being dumb?

  • This boss made it official for me. Fromsoftware doesn’t care about their solo crowd anymore. You can’t tell me they were even considering a non summoning player. She never stop, her combos start with twils making you miss your punish window. I hate this boss abd if I ever beat her just thinkibg about her will stop me from replaying this dlc.
