A turkey neck, saggy neck, and wrinkly chest are common issues for women. To combat this, an anti-aging skin care routine, including neck creams and lotions, can help minimize collagen loss and tighten the skin. Laser skin resurfacing is a milder method to reduce turkey neck signs, but may not be as effective as traditional procedures.
As you age, collagen production decreases, leading to less firm neck skin. To prevent turkey neck and reduce its appearance, daily application of retinoid can boost collagen production and promote skin cell turnover. Firming neck creams often double as moisturizers with peptides, retinoids, and other antiaging ingredients to soften fine lines and wrinkles.
Collagen creams can effectively firm skin and are highly hydrating. Algenist’s rich formulation is infused with fortifying collagen, which helps restore elasticity and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Collagen can strengthen and thicken the skin, but not all collagen products are effective.
Collagen firming creams contain a nourishing formula that tones and firms neck skin, restoring elasticity and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Some experts suggest that collagen can strengthen and thicken the skin, which can help ward off turkey neck causes. Collagen supplements can also help restore lost collagen and promote more elastic skin.
In summary, collagen creams and skincare products can help minimize collagen loss and tighten the skin, while laser skin resurfacing and collagen supplements can help restore lost collagen and promote more elastic skin.

Loose crepey skin at the neck bothers many especially after the age of 35. Prevention is key but despite one’s best efforts loose …
Does collagen cream help turkey neck?
Turkey neck can be reduced by using topical products containing collagen, which forms the skin’s foundation. Maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise can prevent excessive weight changes that weaken collagen, elastin, and other skin components. Additionally, applying a retinoid daily can boost collagen production and promote skin cell turnover, reducing the appearance of turkey neck. Prevention is better than cure, and a healthy lifestyle can help prevent and reduce turkey neck’s appearance.
How can I tighten my turkey neck naturally?
In order to remove loose skin situated beneath the chin, it is recommended to adopt the following position: one hand should be placed in a parallel orientation to the surface of the floor, while the other is positioned on the elbow.
Do creams work for turkey neck?
StriVectin’s latest formula is known as the holy grail of neck creams, offering a patented Alpha-3 Peptide that improves elasticity and lifts the skin. This cream is a great preventative approach to take, as it has an immediate tightening effect and makes the skin on the neck impossibly soft. Dr. Karan Lal, a plastic surgeon and dermatologist in Arizona, recommends using this cream to minimize wrinkles, firmer texture, and an overall smoother finish.
The cream also contains brightening clary sage extract and antioxidant-rich spilanthol to reduce inflammation. An ELLE editor, Katie Berohn, praises StriVectin’s neck cream as a “great preventative approach” and highlights its immediate tightening effect and softening effect on the neck.
Is collagen good for your neck?
Turkey Neck is a condition where the skin loses its firm, plump, youthful appearance due to slowing down collagen and elastin production. This results in deep wrinkles, an undefined jawline, and a wrinkly neck. The skin in the neck loses its natural support and elasticity, leading to a wrinkly appearance that may make you look older or give away your true age. This can happen naturally or prematurely due to damage from pollution, smoking, and sun exposure. Key factors that can cause Turkey Neck include:
- Sun exposure, which can cause sun damage and dryness.
- Environmental factors, such as pollution, smoking, and sun exposure, which can also contribute to Turkey Neck.
Do collagen creams work?
Collagen skincare is a popular treatment for fine lines, hydration, and elasticity, but it is unlikely to treat deep-seated fine lines. As we age, our body loses elasticity and collagen in the dermis and deeper fatty tissue, leading to wrinkles and dry skin. Collagen is a protein that helps form flexible and structural fibers in our skin, tendons, bones, ligaments, and muscles. As we age, our body starts to produce less collagen, causing wrinkles and dry skin.
Collagen skincare products, applied topically as creams or serums, aim to replenish collagen loss and restore a more youthful appearance. However, collagen skincare is not a miracle anti-aging product, as it likely only moisturizes the skin and improves skin texture without providing true anti-aging benefits.
Can I tighten my saggy neck without surgery?
Collagen supplementation, topical treatments, electrical devices, neck exercises, and facial rollers are all methods to treat turkey neck. Collagen supplementation increases skin thickness and strength, while topical treatments like firming creams and collagen serums help firm visible signs of aging, such as saggy neck and fine lines. Electrical devices, such as neck toning devices, use small pulses of electricity to exercise neck muscles, strengthening and improving muscle tone.
Neck exercises, such as facial yoga, can improve tautness and lift the skin around the neck. Facial rollers, like jade rollers or facial rollers, can also help lift the skin around the neck. These treatments are ideal for those with minimal excess neck skin, but if the neck has a more severe loose skin appearance, ultherapy is a reliable option without invasive techniques.

How do celebrities get rid of turkey neck?
Turkey neck treatments are innovative methods for enhancing the appearance of the neck and chin. Ultherapy® is the FDA-cleared, non-invasive device that uses ultrasound technology to lift the skin on the neck and chin, stimulating collagen remodeling and tightening. This results in a smoother, younger, and fresher neck. Thread Lifting, a 30-minute procedure, is popular among celebrities and offers a refined, lifted, and natural appearance without surgery.
It involves placing fine threads under the skin’s surface with local anesthesia, lifting and tugging up the tissue in the area needed. Results last approximately 18 months. Judy Murray, the mother of tennis star Andy Murray, has also undergone a non-surgical facelift to target her own turkey neck. Before and after photos of turkey neck treatments can help redefine the shape and structure of ageing skin around the neck.
What is the best skin tightening treatment for turkey neck?
Anti-aging skin care routines, including neck creams and lotions, can minimize collagen loss and tighten skin. Laser skin resurfacing, Ultherapy, microneedling, radiofrequency microneedling, Kybella® injections, fat freezing, and nonsurgical body sculpting like CoolSculpting® can help rejuvenate skin. Deoxycholic acid injections dissolve neck fat, while fat freezing and nonsurgical body sculpting devices like CoolSculpting® destroy fat cells. To improve neck muscle quality and tone, consider these treatments.
Does collagen cream tighten skin?
Collagen is crucial for reducing sagging and promoting skin firmness. It is essential to use products with potent antioxidants and skin-repairing ingredients to help the skin produce more collagen. Sun damage destroys elastin and collagen, so daily protection is crucial. However, many people forget to apply sunscreen to their necks and faces, leading to a ‘older’ appearance. Anti-ageing skincare doesn’t just focus on the face; medical procedures like lasers and light therapies like Fraxel or Ulthera can also improve crepey skin. Instead of expensive firming creams and facials, setting aside funds for these treatments can help you achieve desired results.
Cosmetic surgery, such as facelifts, can make a dramatic difference without appearing too tight. When combined with a great skincare routine, the results can be impressive. While skin firming and tightening from skincare products is possible, they may not work as well as the claims on product labels or from cosmetics salespeople. Overall, a combination of skincare and medical procedures can lead to impressive results.
Can turkey neck be tightened without surgery?
Lasers can heat and tighten neck skin without surgery, resulting in mild to moderate results. Treatment usually requires multiple sessions, with minimal recovery time and lasting results for a few years. A facelift is a surgical procedure that tightens and lifts facial and neck muscles, removing excess skin for a smoother, toned jowl. An incision is made behind each ear or below the chin to hide scars. Patients wear an elastic compression bandage to reduce swelling after the surgery.

With this effective massage you get rid of sagging neck, turkey neck. And get rid of flabby skin on your neck and reduce that …
Just use castor oil. That liquid gold has so many uses! Check out YouTube vids on it. I’m 54 and started using this nightly before bed on my neck and face. I have a very young no wrinkles face, but my neck bottom center got wrinkly. Began routine June 1 and I already notice a marked difference. I also encourage women to drink plenty of water. We hear that all of the time. If you aren’t absorbing the water, and it just goes right through you or down to your legs, you need to add minerals to your water. Check out Barbara O’Neill for the science behind this, and her other great vids on health. I also suggest doing face massages. Enjoy!
I have always moisturized the neck. I have no lines, like others my age. That show shows how old a person is. That is the big thing. I do excercise, even on the neck while weightlifting. Lifting even a 10lbs barbell above the head. Which gets rid of under arm fat is good. I do 60 lifts, five days a week. Drink water and take your vitamins. Also, collagen. Start taking it. When going out, use SPF! ❤Great job Anil. Gonna try see how coconut oil does. Just use Vitamin creams.
I use jojoba oil on my neck at bedtime I am 75 but my doctor says I look 45-50 my husband is 60 but looks older than me Being Italian with good genes helps great diet lots of veg and low sugar fruits no alcohol no smoking lots of exercise 15,000 steps a day cardio weight lifting and circuit training saunas and meditation daily I have a BMI of 18
I tried Nectifirm for I think about 6 months. Did absolutely nothing for me. I took careful before and after pics in the same lighting and there was no difference. Perhaps it’s because I already was using retinol, vitamin C and peptides on my neck. Maybe it’s more effective for people who aren’t already using these products? Lately I’ve been using pomegranate seed oil and avocado oil at night, both of which I really love.
Great article One question: HOW exactly should products be rubbed in. Even in the article, I noticed the models, one using circular, the other on using upward strokes? Wouldn’t loose skin “bunch up more” with going upwards? I applied my creams with strokes downward. Now questioning what is the proper technique This would also be a cool next article. Hint, hint😅
I appreciate all your advice and what you are doing for ladies to help them look good at any age. But i have a question, I m 72 and i still don’t have sagging skin on my neck, no wrinkles and just lately some jawls. I m not using anything on my neck and only some moisturizer on my face. Why am i dong so good and so much younger people are doing worse than me? I m from south Europe and have been on the sun a lot. I heard just lately that eating a lot of tomatoes protects skin from sun damage. I admit, i eat all my life tones of tomatos because i love them and can’t live without them, but i didn’t know this protection about them. Is there a truth to tomatoes protection from sun rays?
For years I’ve carried a tiny dropper bottle in my purse I fill with coconut oil to pat under my eyes mid-day when concealer starts looking dry and wrinkles showing…it hydrates beautifully and refreshs the concealer! I will definitely start using it on my neck, I just bought a Gua sha last week so will use the two together 😊
I had to come here as im rushing for work but I HAD TO COMMENT, i purchased your face wash and sunscreeen and OMG how is my skin already this goood! Im actually shocked and i cant even use niacinamide and the sunscreen is like silkkkkk the facewash just calmed my skin and cleaned everything! I was having a skin crisis a week ago
To have said it, Ascorbic acid is the shell only of the vitamin C complex. It is not Vit C. Without full complex VitC, wrinkles and muscles pulling off bones (had it happen). Check the label on supplements. If it’s not intelligible or ascorbic acid, it’s not Vit C. Thank you kindly for the website, best to all.
PURE argan oil has more vit E, vit C, and vit K than coconut oil. It is lighter so acne prone skin does well with it. The problem is you can’t buy pure Argan oil over the counter, even if the label says 100%. You need to make a Moroccan friend and have their family send it to them. Argan in its pure cold pressed form is a game changer and VERY expensive. Anything less than $300 a liter has been stepped on/diluted. It is the most expensive edible oil in the world.
Great article Dr. Rajani ! As always ! perusal from France 🐸🇫🇷…Very informative 🙂 Thanks 🙏 ☺️ Organic Argan oil also is quite effective… It s very popular here…Easy to find…Mostly imported from Morocco… It s a very popular skin care, sold by many famous/recognized cosmetic brands … It can also be used for hair and nails…
Borage Oil full of Gamma linolenic acid: Amazing inside and out as it’s important on a hormonal level. Non-comodogenic. I treated my acne away with it by taking it for several months. Taste is neutral, so I just take a coffee spoon during the day. Now once a day, but to level hormonally I took it twice per day for almost a year. Get capsules and take it internally as well as squeeze one out every couple of days to mix in with your facial cream. Another great one: Black Cumin Seed Oil. Nigella sativa. Queen of oils. The seeds were put into the graves of wealthy people in ancient Egyptian times. Third one: Evening Primrose Oil. Strong taste, so highly dosed capsules to take as well as squeeze one out into your skin care regimen. For cleansing and massaging I use my own blend of organic sesame seed oil, parsley seed oil. When it’s finished, I switch to Chamomile or carrot seed oil in a base of sesame seed oil.
I recently got a bottle of Bio Oil, I apply it after my wrinkle serum. I press my thumb under my chin and flex and stretch my neck, I elongate my neck as I tightened and release the muscles.I have been doing this for quite a while and compared to other women my age my neck is smoother and less saggy. I do have terrible little bags on each side of my chin and I have scars I would like removed along with the jaw bags.
You are so close to the Holy Grail you don’t even know. I won’t go into all the comments and shock I get about my skin and how young I look, etc. I’ll just give you and your audience the mother of all youth elixirs. Very easy and inexpensive as well. Here we go: Do this before bedtime but not before your face hits the pillow in order for the ingredients to work their magic. Massage into your face, neck and chest: *Hyaluronic Acid (NOT the thick kind, it should be thin and watery) *Retinol (the stuff you get from the supermarket is fine) (Perlessence used to make a great jar of both of those ingredients combined into a gel, but it’s hard to find now. However, I do see other brands coming out with it as well. Use that if you can find it since it turns this 3 step routine into a 2 step process). Let those 2 ingredients sit on your skin to absorb for a few minutes then slather Cold Pressed Unrefined Coconut Oil over your face, neck and chest. Swing hands upward to massage it in, especially the neck area. Make sure to get it on your eye lids and under eye area. If it gets into your eyes it does not irritate. Also, be sure to not go to sleep right away. Keep it on your face, not your pillow. An hour is enough. Look at your face in the morning and enjoy the jaw drop. You’re welcome. (-: Thanks to you Doc for the best advice and knowledge on the internet.
Yes coconut oil brings me acne as does olive oil. I like organic cold pressed grapeseed oil on your recommendation, it just feels really nice on my skin, I use just a little on top of moisturiser in the evenings. Dr Rajani how can we tell if skin tightening from retinal is due to inflammation or if it’s actual skin tightening please? Thank you 😊
So far the seed oils are still not working for my skin and I have just hit a pretty big age. Just this year I was able to have face care with any oils. I wore an oil free and still have Clearsil in my drawer for those occasional breakouts I didn’t have as a teenager. I broke out in my twenties and tried retinol to my horror. I’m so glad there are better versions. I’m excited to try everything you have including your warnings and attention to proper combinations.
Love your articles, Dr. Rajani! I’ve been using Nectifirm for about 4 months and I’m pleased with it. I’m 69 and despite spending way too much time in the sun when I was younger (haven’t been in the sun in 30 years now), thankfully, my neck isn’t as bad as my peers, so I think the Nectifirm is “halting” the neck aging process a bit. Question: I’ve also been using 0.05% tretinoin for 30 years. I didn’t realize that Nectifirm could tighten the jaw, so is it a problem if the tretinoin on my marionette lines overlaps with Nectifirm along my jaw line? Tx!
What about castor oil? It’s supposed to be the most healing oil on the planet. I just looked this up, so does this count? “The fatty acid profiles present in castor oil are ricinoleic, oleic, stearic, palmitic, linoleic, linolenic acid and among others. Among them, ricinoleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid is the dominant acid constituting about 75 to 90% of the total oil composition.” “Composition. Castor oil is well known as a source of ricinoleic acid, a monounsaturated, 18-carbon fatty acid. Among fatty acids, ricinoleic acid is unusual in that it has a hydroxyl functional group on the 12th carbon atom. This functional group causes ricinoleic acid (and castor oil) to be more polar than most fats.” Does anyone know? If I can use castor oil in place of coconut.”
Dr Anil, can you make a article on what to do with “mouth jowls”? I’m really not sure what to call this/right terminology. They are located right under the mouth, very close to the mouth corners and it seems this stems from a general sag of the face. Unfortunately I can’t add a photo here for illustrations.
Not bragging but I look amazing for my age. I’m sixty two and I respect The Lord, I exercise, take great vitamins and minerals, do facial exercises daily well as well as moisturize. I look fifty at best. My skin looks tight and glowing. I apologize for sounding boastful but others are always complimenting me. I give God the Glory! 😃
I was born whith film star skin and a beautifull neck just starting go now through lack off sleep trough jealous person if that had not happed my skin and neck would be stunning skin not too bad verey few sed too me you have stunning skin jealours people out there orr neaver sed a lovely figure thats people fore you,
Doctor, how can I grow my hair longer? My hair has stopped growing. What is the solution? I have had split ends in my hair for twenty years, and I am now 40. Is there a treatment for split ends? Also, my hair was soft, now it has become rough, very dry, and very curly. It is not smooth and beautiful hair, and it has large pores. What is the solution for large pores on the face? He has a very, very, very thin face. Is it possible to keep my facial fat from sagging? He has pimples on his chin. What is the solution? He has soft milia pimples under the eye from the damned corner down to the cheek. I am from Iraq and we do not have procedures to do like the one you mentioned, Doctor. Please help with this comment.
Dr. Rajani, if that’s true about Coconut oil then my neck should look like I’m 21 because my hubby and I use it all over our bodies if you know what I mean. Hubba Hubba Hubba 😁 Aldis organic cold pressed virgin is amazing for everything else but I do need to order your neck cream. I’ve been following you from when you first started it’s time to get this neck looking better! Also taking a stretch break from looking down at our phones and leaning back doing loins face yoga pose does help a bit!
I’ve been using my prescription retin-a on my neck and I also add Vanicream with it. I also use Versed body retinol lotion on my body. I will give cold pressed coconut oil a try and massage my neck area. I do apply sunscreen from Colorscience on my neck and eyelids/eye area – the face also. I do want to share with you when I asked my dermatologist of his thoughts on growth factors, peptides and he said there is no scientific proof that it works, just retinol. If I can afford peptides and growth factors, I wii buy it, but not the past couple of years due to essential basic needs inflation. That is eating up any extra money I would have normally saved. As for using cold pressed oils, I haven’t been using any. Many years ago, when I first started with prescription retin-a, I used Sonya Dakar omega 3 oil. I think it provided the right moisture balance from staring off on my prescription retin-a.
@Aysel – I’ve started the towel massage on my double chin that started to sag after me loosing 10 pounds too quickly. I starting using your towel method around a week ago and my double chin has seemed to have gotten soft and squnchier and a bit looser in elasticity. Is it supposed to do this before it gets better? And At the same time, I do think it is just a little higher than what it was. Please let me know. I look forward to your response. Thanks.
