The first chakra, the energy center that supports our foundation and connects us to the earth and everything around us, is often the most common to experience a blockage or weakness. To balance the heart chakra, it is essential to consume foods that resonate with it, such as kiwi fruit, spinach, kale, green apples, pears, and chard. Red foods, such as red apples, beets, pomegranates, and strawberries, can help in energizing and feeding the root chakra.
Critics of the chakra foods chart suggest that cruciferous vegetables, such as collard greens, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and bok choy, are particularly beneficial for the heart chakra. Flaxseeds are especially vital for the heart chakra if you follow a vegan diet, as they provide omega-3s. Leafy and cruciferous vegetables are also healthy.
Foods that support the brain include nuts and seeds, such as blackberries, plums, aubergine, purple grapes, purple broccoli, purple carrots, and goji berries. Green foods, such as herbs, rich green leafy vegetables, avocados, and Brussels sprouts, can help nourish the heart chakra.
In addition to these foods, Anahata, a chakra associated with love, can benefit from consuming green fruits and vegetables like cucumber, spinach, lady finger, coriander, mint, and more. Leafy greens that feed the heart chakra are naturally balanced, acting as a transition point for protein and carb conversion.
In summary, the first chakra is crucial for supporting our foundation and connecting us to the earth and everything around us. Consuming foods that resonate with the heart chakra, such as kiwi fruit, spinach, kale, green apples, pears, and chard, can help in balancing the body’s energy centers and promoting overall well-being.

My favorites are kale and collard greens. Eaten raw. In a salad. Sometimes with a little bit of lemon juice or spices like tumeric, red pepper, cayenne, ginger, garlic, black pepper, curry powder, cilantro and basil (to detox my body of metals as well). Green apples are my favorites too. Green tea. Broccoli. Lettuce. And I LOOOVE avocados! Spinach too.
