For Novices, How Can One Crochet A Magic Circle?

To modify any crochet pattern to start with a magic circle, Ignore the first pattern instruction to make a small number of chains (usually 4) and then slip stitch to the first chain to make a ring. Start by making a loop as you would make a slip knot. Insert the hook from the back toward the front and wrap the yarn around the hook to pull through the loop.

This magic circle crochet guide contains techniques, tips, and step-by-step instructions for making a magic ring, the most common way to begin crocheting. • When you slip stich at the top of the third chain at the end, do you insert the hook under the two loops of the chain or just the one at the back? It looks like you insert the hook under the back loop only, but I’m not sure. It’s difficult to do both loops in that chain since there’s no hole under it.

  • Hi sorry for asking questions. My pattern says a magic circle with 6 SC in the hole. If I were to do it in normal way. Chain 4. Join with st, and do 6 SC in the hole do I need to do a chain before putting 6 stitches in. I hope I’m making sense lol. I’ll think about a better way of explaining it. Sorry to bother you. And thank you x
