The program aims to empower customers to take an active role in managing their family’s well-being.

Rite Aid Rewards replaces Wellness+ Rewards and continues popular features such as members-only pricing and instant BonusCash promotions. Customers can sign up for the new wellness+ rewards card at any of Rite Aid’s nearly 4,800 stores and receive a card to shop daily. Members over 65 years old can earn 5x points on in-store purchases made on the first Wednesday of the month.

The new Rite Aid Rewards program is digital-first, allowing customers to earn points for eligible purchases. Load2Card, a new coupon management program, will allow all wellness+ members to save, manage, and redeem Rite Aid and Plenti products. BonusCash Rewards are digital coupons earned on participating items and promotions throughout the store and online, loaded automatically to wellness+ or Plenti cards.

To register for a Plenti Card, customers can either go to a store and fill out the paperwork or apply online. For assistance, call 1-800-RITEAID (1-800-748-3243).

What is the Rite Aid scandal?

The US government has filed a complaint alleging that Rite Aid knowingly dispensed at least hundreds of thousands of unlawful prescriptions for controlled substances from May 2014 to June 2019. These prescriptions included the dangerous “trinity” combination of drugs, excessive quantities of opioids, and prescriptions issued by prescribers identified as suspicious. The government claims that Rite Aid filled these prescriptions despite clear “red flags” that indicated the prescriptions were unlawful.

Rite Aid also allegedly ignored substantial evidence of its stores dispensing unlawful prescriptions and intentionally deleted internal notes about suspicious prescribers. The government alleges that Rite Aid violated the CSA and the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by knowingly dispensing unlawful prescriptions for controlled substances. The complaint names Rite Aid Corporation, Rite Aid Hdqtrs Corp., Rite Aid of Connecticut Inc., Rite Aid of Delaware Inc., Rite Aid of Maryland, Rite Aid of Michigan, Rite Aid of New Hampshire, Rite Aid of New Jersey, Rite Aid of Ohio, Rite Aid of Pennsylvania, and Rite Aid of Virginia as defendants.

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) is entering into a Corporate Integrity Agreement with Rite Aid, which includes a prescription drug claims review to have an Independent Review Organization determine whether prescription drugs are properly prescribed, dispensed, and billed.

Can I look up receipts?

To get a lost receipt reissued, visit the original place of purchase and contact the store to see if reprinting a new receipt is possible. Most stores can print a new receipt if the payment method was credit or debit card. If the item was paid in cash, locating the receipt on the store’s system may be difficult due to the lack of proof of identification. However, if the card has the last four digits, you can bring it back as proof of the purchase. There is no connection between the card and the cash payment.

How do I keep my points from expiring?

To keep your rewards from expiring, you can keep your accounts active by earning and redeeming them. Some ways to do this include choosing a credit card with flexible, transferable rewards, getting a credit card or earning elite status that waives rewards expiration policies, redeeming airline rewards for cheaper non-travel redemptions, transferring rewards to someone else, making purchases through a shopping portal, using dining rewards programs, and donating rewards to charity.

Some loyalty programs allow you to reinstate expired rewards, usually for a fee. For example, American Express Membership Rewards allows you to request points to be reinstated for a $35 fee after paying at least the minimum amount due. Alaska Mileage Plan allows you to reactivate your account and reinstate miles if your account has been inactive for two or more years. American AAdvantage allows you to make one transaction to reactivate miles that have expired within the past 24 months on up to 500, 000 miles. Emirates Skywards allows you to reactivate miles from the past 6 months for a fee of $20 per 1, 000 miles, and you can reinstate up to 50, 000 miles per year.

In summary, keeping your accounts active and repurchasing rewards is essential to prevent them from expiring. By choosing a credit card with flexible, transferable rewards, transferring rewards to an airline or hotel loyalty account, transferring rewards to someone else, using dining rewards programs, donating rewards to charity, and reinstating expired rewards, you can ensure that your hard-earned rewards remain valid and valuable. Remember to always do the math to determine if the value of your miles is worth the fee for you.

  • Thank you for the explanation of the new program. Kinda bummed about it. I juggle 5 cards and it took me til November of this year to finally reach gold on all of them. I don’t see how I will be able to get 500 points on 5 cards by end of June 2020. The deals just weren’t there for me this year. Was doing deals a lot at CVS instead. Don’t have a Walgreens near me!
