How To Accurately Pronounce Chakra Pitch?

The word “chakra” is often pronounced incorrectly, with a “SH” sound at the start, like “ship”, like “SHA-kruh”. However, the correct pronunciation of this Sanskrit word is “CHUH-kruh”, with a “CHUH” sound at the beginning and a “kruh” sound at the end. This is a common mistake, especially among yoga teachers. The sacral chakra seed syllable or bija sound is VAM, pronounced “vuhm” or “vung”, and is defined as the seat of the self and the relationship of the soul.

Heaven of Sound uses the Western 7 Chakra system, which originated from the Hindu Yogic system. The vibrational frequencies of the chakras are used to align energy centers and improve well-being. The third-eye and crown chakra do not have a designated elemental bija mantra, but the sound OM is often used at the third-eye. The power of sound therapy with singing bowls and the 7 chakras is also explored, helping to align energy centers and improve well-being.

In conclusion, the correct pronunciation of “chakra” is crucial for understanding and communicating this vital concept in energy healing and spiritual development.

  • It is true, I’ll share my experience, one normal morning around 3.30a.m I meditate and went very deep into meditations, I was experience the sound of silence and I started chanting Aum unknowingly. After the meditation I felt something different in myself. Especially in between my eyebrows and nose. I would have not known if I didn’t watch sadhguru explanation. Glad for sadhguru. Aum Namashivaya

  • Is there any specific Frequencies than one can try to hit when chanting Aum to help release Chronic Anxiety(Generalized Anxiety Syndrome)?. I know about the Solfeggio already and it is very interesting. I just had an idea, If i listen to a specific(hopefully a “Right one” Solfeggio frequency on my speakers while simultaneously chanting Aum at another resonant frequency wouldn’t it help the frequencies resonate deeper into the cranial structure, like via the teeth and throat(upper spinal cord)?. I would imagine that it can work much like the “Brain-Hemisphere” synchronisation during such headphone sessions? Just wanted to share my somewhat eccentric ide. Hope you all have as much of a great life as possible with fulfilling adventures of the mind 💌🤫

  • Totally wrong interpretation, I feel!! अ + उ = ओ (गुणसन्धि) Any primary Sanskrit student knows it!! अ + उ + म् = ओम् Should be pronounced as प्लुत of three मात्राकाल “अकार उकार मकार इति, तानेकधा समभरत् तदेतदोमिति” from Narayana Upanishat. Ask any traditional vedic scholar about it. Why Sadguru is misleading the seekers??????

  • He is arguing about the difference between aum, om and now he is saying that amen is the same thing. He is naming different religions and saying that they are wrong in their amen. And he is right in his aum. It’s funny how he believes his story and subtly wants to impose his belief. To my way of thinking it doesn’t matter what it sounds like. It matters how much love you put into it. Once again I personally am not convinced by Sadguru.

  • Why do we have to put accent on a sound? How does this will help us? In Christianity Jesus is the son of the Father, true God. He didn’t say to hum sounds. Humming sounds, one is entering in a relationship with something that does t know what that it is, but in Christianity one enters in a relation ship with a person, not with a sound. That person is the Creator of the universe. You put accent on a sound, the Christians put accent on the Creator. In Hinduism one puts accent on the created light, in Christianity one puts accent on the uncreated light which is Christ. If one looks for sensations, the demons are experts in providing that. One can sing Amen or just say it. It is a word, it means something, in Hinduism the sound “am” is just a theory ” the sound of the universe”. can you show me the label? Salvation is Christ, a person, not a sound. Amin!
