Anointments are used to anoint amulets or rings, similar to enchantments for accessories. They can be applied by the player via Cassia to blighted maps, rings, amulets, or blight unique items to add a notable passive skill. In Path of Exile, anointing anointments can be done by crafting/rerolling items with many annointments. Sister Cassia offers anoint service, allowing players to apply anointments to three types of items: amulets, rings, and blighted maps.
A stat filter on pathofexile.com/trade called “(Enchant) Allocates” can be used to set the min and max number of anointments to a certain value. By talking to Cassia, players can add anointments to their amulet or ring, and profit anointing adds a mod, even on a 3×3 modded item.
Combining oils on an amulet unlocks a passive, and combining any three oils with no Prismatic Oil will result in a rare amulet with four oil anointments. To anoint an amulet, players must take their oils and the amulet to Cassia, where they can be anointed. This process allows players to allocate a big passive skill on their amulet and access other items with many annointments.
