How To Comprehend Some Astrological Aspects?

Astrology is a complex field that involves the study of various aspects, including conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. These aspects are a combination of energies that form a relationship between two or more planets, which can either uplift or push us. The closer they are to a conjunction, the more powerful these aspects are.

Aspects also describe the distance between any two planets and zodiac signs, also known as angles. They are referred to as “angles” and can influence our interpretation of the planets and signs involved. The five major aspects in astrology are conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.

Aspects are a powerful tool in understanding nuance, complexity, and the flow of energy. They are the energetics of the relationship between two planets and every point in the chart. Hard aspects are considered challenging, while aspects describe the drama of our lives and the complex configurations that influence what will happen to us over time.

In a birth chart, the circle is divided into 12 aspects, each representing a different aspect of the zodiac. Understanding the importance of aspects in astrology can help individuals navigate their lives more effectively and gain insight into their destiny.

How to check Trine in astrology?

In order to ascertain the degrees of a trine, it is necessary to identify the planets that are in the same element and to ensure that there is a 120-degree angle between them. To illustrate, if one planet is in the 10th degree of Aries, a trine would occur when another is in the 10th degree of Leo or Sagittarius.

What is the rarest natal chart?

The Grand Cross is a rare aspect observed in natal charts. It can be classified into three distinct types, each with a specific meaning for individuals born under its influence.

What is the most powerful house in astrology?

The angular houses in the chart are the most powerful, while succedent houses, less powerful but more powerful than the cadent houses, have a quality similar to the angular houses. The second house, which succeeds the first house of the body and personality, signifies the things that belong to the person, while the eighth house, following the seventh house of the partner or spouse, represents the belongings of the other person. Succedent houses have a stable, unchanging, fixed quality, deriving from their central position in each quadrant of the chart.

While some houses have malefic or weak connotations, they are productive houses where matters normally take root and flourish, such as possessions or children. The second house signifies the possessions of the person or event for which the chart was cast, and this meaning has persisted unchanged for several thousand years. Modern astrologers may perceive a correspondence between the second house and the sign Taurus, but traditional astrologers did not. Hellenistic astrologers considered the second house the “Gate of Hades”, leading to the houses beneath the horizon of the chart.

How to analyze astrology?

The Zodiac wheel, a part of the astrology chart, is divided into 12 inner sections, with the ascendant at 9 o’clock, marking the first house. The ascendant is responsible for influencing your personality, physical appearance, attitude, and temperament. The second house represents money, personal assets, self-worth, and attitude towards financial security and emotional well-being. The third house represents communication and transportation, influencing your mental attitude, learning style, self-expression, and manner of speech.

The fourth house represents home, family, and property, influencing your roots, background, childhood, and inner emotions. The fifth house represents children and how you relate to them, as well as your approach to pleasure and fun. The sixth house is the house of health and service, representing your general physical well-being throughout life. The sign and planets in each house greatly influence your personality and relationships.

How do you study astrology charts?

Astrology charts provide insight into a person’s personality and life path by analyzing the planets’ appearance in the house and under which sign. Planets represent what one does and what drives them, while signs represent how they accomplish tasks. Houses indicate areas of growth or change. For example, a Uranus in Aries in the fourth house represents learning and growth, while Aries is associated with ambition, passion, and strong emotions. The fourth house is associated with home, family, and property, suggesting a passion for personal relationships and emotional investment in family.

How do aspects work in astrology?

Astrology uses aspects as angles between planets in a horoscope, indicating the timing of transitions and developmental changes in people’s lives and affairs relative to Earth. Aspects are measured by the angular distance in degrees and minutes of ecliptic longitude between two points. For example, a Natal Chart with an angular distance of 92° between Mars and Venus is called “Venus Square Mars” with an orb of 2°.

The more exact an aspect, the stronger or more dominant it is in shaping character or manifesting change. In Natal charts, other signs may take precedence over a Sun sign, such as Aries having multiple planets in Cancer or Pisces, making the latter signs more influential.

What is the luckiest aspect in astrology?

Trines are favorable aspects in astrology, occurring between planets approximately four zodiac signs apart (or 120 degrees). These planets are usually situated in the same element (fire, earth, air, or water) and create a gentle union distinguished by ease and fluidity. When they sync, these planets understand each other, allowing for easy movement with little external effort. However, too much trining can lead to problems, such as laziness and complacency.

The most notorious aspect is the square, which occurs between planets approximately three zodiac signs apart (or form 90-degree angle in the sky from our vantage point). These planets are usually situated within the same modality (cardinal signs), fixed signs, and mutable signs. Squares are considered hard aspects, creating tension and dividing intentions, leading to emotional or logistical roadblocks. Despite this friction, squares always catalyze action. They are considered motion-oriented, enabling us to easily identify issues and address them rather than sweeping them under the rug.

For example, when Mars (all about spontaneous motivation) and Saturn (all about rules and regulations) square, we may feel that our passions are being dampened by our responsibilities. However, this aspect also creates an opportunity to slow down and become a true master at our craft through refinement, hard work, and strategic planning.

To identify the zodiac signs that are always squaring each other, use the following list: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius (fire), Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn (earth), Gemini, Libra, Aquarius (air), Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces (water).

How to interpret aspects in Vedic astrology?

Parashara explains that all planets cast their aspects on the 3rd and 10th bhava or house, the 5th and 9th (120 degrees and 240 degrees), the 4th and 8th (90 degrees and 210 degrees), and the 7th (180 degrees). However, the strength of their aspect varies at different points. The 7 planets cast their aspects as follows: Saturn casts its 1 ⁄ 4 strength aspect on the 5th and 9th, Jupiter aspects the 4th and 8th with 1 ⁄ 4 strength, the 3rd and 10th with 3 ⁄ 4 strength, and the 5th and 9th with full strength. Mars’s aspect is 1 ⁄ 4 at the 7th, 1 ⁄ 2 at the 3rd and the 10th, 3 ⁄ 4 at the 5th and the 9th, and full at the 4th and the 8th.

Is sextile a good aspect?

Sextile is a romantic relationship between two planets separated by two zodiac signs, with the planets in compatible elements. Sextiles are often happy and chill, bringing good moods and camaraderie. An opportunity may present if we seize the day to take action and uncover it. For example, Venus and Neptune are sextile in your birth chart, bringing creativity and a romantic demeanor. On a random day, you may be more openhearted, likely drawn towards beauty, romance, or art.

Square is a more complex relationship between two planets separated by three zodiac signs, with each planet entering the center of the ring to trade blows. In a square, they share an astrological quality (cardinal, fixed, or mutable signs) but have little else in common.

  • Thank you so much for this very informative article!!! I feel like I can learn so much from you and especially the topic of aspects always confused and intimidated me. Some of the aspects that stand out to me in my natal chart: North node and chiron in exact Opposition 🤯 and I have a Jupiter/Saturn Opposition as you used as an example.. Most of my aspects are squares 😳😅🙈 Sending a lot of appreciation to you 💗

  • This helps a lot, Thank you so much!! I have a lot of Oppositions, my moon (cancer) opposites Mercury (Capricorn) and that is present in my life a lot. I tend to hide my emotions and not know how to express them specially that my Mercury is In the 12H. And I feel like I have to compromise that a lot and keep my feelings to myself. And also Saturn (Aries) Opposites both my north node and Mars (Libra) so it’s a bit of a struggle and I do feel like I have a lot of restrictions and have to compromise a lot. Btw, I love your accent!!

  • Im a single chocolate woman w/8 squares in my natal chart. Ive learned that i rather be n live alone to keep my independence, freedom n privacy. Im superintuitive to negative, external energies n im not a codependent n manipulative person. My challenge is protecting myself n my positive energy from jealous, devious n narcisstic people (men n women).

  • I have a stellium in Scorpio. My Mercury, Venus, jupiter, Pluto and north node are in Scorpio in the sixth house. My sun is in sagittarius at two degrees and that is also conjunct my pluto and my jupiter. My mars is in Leo in my fourth house and that does square my sun, Pluto, jupiter and mercury. I’ve heard mars square pluto people are aggressive but I’m not like that at all?

  • What about if for example you have 3 planets within 9 degrees of each other? I have My Sun(15°31´), Neptune(11°39′) and Mercury(20°43′) within each other in my 3rd house both Mercury(5 degrees) and Neptune(4 degrees) conjunct my Sun so should I look at Mercury and Neptune conjuncting each other even though they are 9 degrees from each other? Astro.com considers them conjunct. It considers Jupiter and Chiron conjunct also(in different signs but in the same signs Aries) though the orbs are separated by 9 degrees.

  • Nice article, thank you for sharing! I would love to hear about how to work with T-square aspects, I have two of those in my chart. And I’ve also been curious about the chiron uranus opposition, from what I’ve read this is a very common opposition to have in the chart so will be relevant for many, what are your thoughts on the meaning or result of this particular aspect?

  • Is a conjunction only if it’s in the same house AND within an 8 degree orb? Or is it also a conjunction if 2 planets are in the same sign and house but more than 8° apart? I have Venus and Pluto in my 4th house Venus at 22° and Pluto at 9°. I also have Mars and Jupiter in my 8th house Mars 23° and Jupiter 17°. With these examples Mars & Jupiter are within 8°, Venus and Pluto are more than 8° but are these both conjunctions?

  • I know looking at the “snap shot” aka natal birth chart is amazing and gives a lot of info but is it important to read the planet placement in the houses? I know transit is the current movements of the planets so the current snap shot is different than the natal chart…. so the transit current day applies to right now and the planet placement in houses in natal chart only applies when your born? Or does it still apply today if your around 30 years old?
