Mystic Defender is a two-dimensional action run and gun video game released for the Sega Genesis in 1989. Originally titled Kujaku Ō 2: Geneijō (孔雀王2) in Japan, it is an action platformer game developed by Sega and released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive in 1989. The game is the third installment in the “Kujakuou” series.
The game can be played on any of the Megadrive emulators available on CoolROM.com. The game’s controls include pressing the 1 key to start games, using the Arrow Keys to move up, left, right, and down, and three buttons, A, B, and C. The game has versions 1.00 and 1.01.
Sega Genesis game ROMs have revision 1, 2, A, B. The logic behind this logic is that the bigger the number, the better the ROM. The game can be downloaded from Project 2612 and converted to FLAC with Foobar2000 v1.5.3, using foo_gep v1.217, during July 2020.
Mystic Defender is a reskinned version of Kujaku Ou 2: Geneijou, known in Brazil as Mystic Defense and in South Korea as On Dal Jang Goon (온달장군). The movie syncs fine with both REV00 and REV01 versions, with the only difference being a few pixels of more nudity in the end with REV00.
Mystic Defender is a video game published in 1989 on Genesis by SEGA Enterprises Ltd., SEGA of America, Inc., and Tec Toy Indústria de Brinquedos S.A.

I liked this game a good bit back in the day. When it comes to hidden gems I think this is the first one I would mention to people when it comes to the Genesis as I feel it is as good an example of that as you can get. I remember wanting sequels to it but sadly it never happened. The controls are weird at first cuz of the spell charging but once you get use to it fun 16 bit game.
