To check if your Apple Magic Mouse is charging, follow these two step-by-step methods:
- Check the battery status by clicking the Control Centre Icon in the menu bar, then click Bluetooth.
- Open the Bluetooth preference pane in any version of macOS. All connected Bluetooth devices show their charge as a graphic.
- Check the current battery level of your Magic Mouse by looking at the battery icon located on the status bar of your Mac. If the battery icon shows a lightning bolt symbol, it means your Magic Mouse is charging.
- Flip the mouse over to check the charging status while the mouse is connected. If the status light is on, your mouse is still charging. If the battery indicator shows when you swipe left from the Home Screen, it only shows this when the mouse is not charging with a wall plug.
- If your Apple Magic Mouse 2 charges, you will see a little charging icon next to the battery level in the Battery widget.
To troubleshoot Apple’s Magic Mouse, click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar and select the keyboard. A box should appear that shows the charge status (in gray). You can check the Magic Mouse 2’s charge level from your macOS menu bar by clicking the Bluetooth icon if present or opening the Battery widget.
