You can just see how intense and how much tension there is during this dance compared to when she danced with Stefan for practice. Damon and Elena are barely even touching but the chemistry, need, and want there during this dance is enough to make a grown man cry. I can already tell that they’re in love.
Stefan’s “If you ask me, the near touch is overrated.” And fans have the audacity to say Damon and Elena are all sex when they’re most certainly not. Stefan doesn’t understand until Valerie makes it so he can’t touch Caroline. Soundtrack is specific to Damon’s character, and I do consider this Damon’s signature moment. Reeducation vs punishment. The difference between locking him up in the cellar to supposedly protect the town and dancing with him in front of the entire town. Getting Damon to (act) human, they have to make him (feel) human. That’s what Elena did here… while Stefan threatens the town, sinking his teeth into Amber lol.
This show was SO GOOD for the first couple of seasons and then – I don’t know what happened, but the mythology and stuff just got weirder and weirder and more difficult to follow, and characters ‘died’ and then came back to life so being ‘dead’ didn’t actually mean anything anymore, and then Nina left the show, and that was it. If she doesn’t return and DE don’t have a reunion then I’ll just feel that the writers used these flashbacks like waving a diamond in front of our eyes purely to torture us. “Oohh, look at your Delena guys. Isn’t it pretty? Don’t you want it? Oh, wait. No, you’re not getting it after all. Sorry.” The end. I’ll just feel utterly ripped off. I’ll never forgive the producers for doing that to us. Never.
I’m not and never have been a Delena fan, but I liked their relationship better when it was developing in the first three seasons, after that I couldn’t stand it! I always loved Stelena more for many reasons: one being how Elena always fought harder for Stefan than with Damon; she didn’t have to try with him. But I will say that I disagree with anyone who thinks that their feelings for each other began here, because I think it was earlier this season, for Damon I believe it was the end of ep.3 when he’s stroking Elena’s cheek while she’s sleeping and for Elena I think her feelings for Damon started in ep.11 when she and Damon were in Georgia together. I will agree that this is when they both knew that they had more than feelings for each other; love.

Okay, after perusal The Legacies and the scene with Hope when Landon left her during Miss Mysticfalls and Roman stepped in to spare her the embarassment, I can see the parallel. God… these series are gonna be the death of me. To this day I consider this one of the best moments in TVD history… everything was perfect… the chemistry, music… and I also love legacies, but sometimes I miss TVD so much <3

They ruined Damon’s character. I haven’t really liked Damon’s character after he tried to let Enzo kill Jeremy ( season 5 ) I felt like he loved Elena so much he knew how much she cared for her brother yet he didn’t care. Then he killed Tyler THIS PAST SEASONS he doesn’t deserve Elena. I feel like writers did this on purpose to somehow stick with the books. In the books she ends up with Stefan. They’ll ruin delena when Elena wakes up she’ll be upset about Tyler & all Damon did. She’ll end up with Stefan & if not Stefan WITH NO ONE. They will do something stupid to shock fans. ASSHOLES
elena and damon dont need to be a couple they were better off as friends and frenemies coz even after this scene, start of season 2 damon kills jeremy and elena hates him damon feeds her blood again at the end of season 2 and she hates him they were actually better off when they weren’t a couple, coz their relationship was toxic from season 4 to 6 but i cant believe stefan wasn’t there 🤣this was something big that elenas mum wanted her to do, and damon was just there to save the day
