In Yugioh, the mystical space typhoon (MST) is a card that destroys a card when an opponent tries to end their turn. MST does not negate a card’s effect or stop it from activating, except when activated in response to the activation of a spell or trap card. It destroys the card but the effect of that card will still resolve, making it meaningless.
Cards like Dust Tornado and Mystical Space Typhoon do not negate the activation of the card. However, they can be used to destroy Continuous Trap Cards like Imperial Order or Equip Spell Cards like Premature Burial before their effect can resolve. “Mystical Space Typhoon” is the simplest of the Spell/Trap removal cards, and all others are variations on what it does.
MST does not negate the effects of cards it destroy, so Spell and Trap Cards that “Mystical Space Typhoon” is chained to may still resolve if they are in the Graveyard. MST is used to destroy normally continous trap and spell cards, and “Mystical Space Typhoon” and Dust Tornado do not negate the effects of cards they destroy.
In Yugioh, there are various ways to negate mystical space typhoon, including any card that can negate a spell activation. MST destroys S/T cards, but it is the game mechanics that prevents a continuous S/T that is not on the field from resolving. Night Beam, for example, is not quick play, but it cannot activate cards in response to it.
