Good Omens is a fantasy comedy television series created by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, based on their 1990 novel of the same name. The series follows an unlikely duo, a fussy Angel (Michael Sheen) and a loose-living Demon (David Tennant), who form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon. The series was co-produced between Amazon MGM Studios and BBC Studios, directed by Douglas Mackinnon, with Gaiman also serving as showrunner.

The first season of Good Omens was based entirely on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch. The series tells the story of agents of God, with Michael Sheen, David Tennant, and Jon Hamm staring in the series. The first season was originally supposed to be a movie, but Gaiman and Pratchett wanted a movie instead.

Good Omens is a comedy about the birth of the son of Satan and the coming of the End Times. The angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and the demon Crowley (David Tennant) attempt to stop Armageddon. The book is partly a parody and partly a story, with the film “The Omen” inspired by the book. In 1999, Kevin Smith and his misfits put together a movie heavily influenced by Good Omens, though not a movie version of the book.
