Is It Wise To Heed Astrological Advice?

Astrology, often considered a pseudoscience, is a fun and harmless tool for learning about one’s self. It offers forecasting of a person’s future and advice on daily activities via horoscopes, which is particularly popular. However, following astrology for personal guidance can be harmless if used for entertainment or reflection rather than making critical life decisions. Some people believe that the stars and planets rule our behavior, and understanding how astrological signs offer tailored guidance for life’s challenges can foster personal growth and wise decision-making.

To spot red flags of inaccurate horoscopes, it is important to look for a trusted source and understand the importance of astrology aspects, rising signs, and personal resonance. The difference between sun sign and rising sign horoscopes and how to interpret them based on birth charts are essential. Virgo, Capricorn, Pisces, Libra, and Scorpio are the top zodiac signs for providing reliable, honest, and practical advice for various situations, including relationships, careers, and fashion.

Clinical psychologist and author Terence Sandbek, PhD, advises people to trust their intuition and not consult astrologers if they have a god-realized guru, awakened, wise, and follow shastras. As people follow the advice, the predictive powers of apps will increase, creating an ever-tighter electronic leash.

A belief in astrology can be a coping mechanism, helping people make sense of things during times when life feels complex. A new test has been designed to see whether astrologers can truly gain insights about people from entire astrological charts. Astrology is more about gaining a deeper understanding of oneself and the world around them, prompting reflection and action.

How to identify a fake astrologer?

In astrology, it is crucial to choose an astrologer who follows ethical practices and doesn’t exploit vulnerabilities. Trustworthy astrologers focus on providing guidance rather than instilling fear. Reviews and testimonials from others who have consulted the same astrologer can provide valuable information about the astrologer’s reliability and accuracy. Many reputable astrologers offer trial sessions or consultations at a lower cost, allowing individuals to experience their approach firsthand without a significant financial commitment. The upcoming Astro event “The Open Mind Astro Summit 2023” organized by The Times of India will provide more insight into how astrology helps us grow in life and how to use its magic in our favor.

What does the Bible say about astrology?

In Matthew 28:18, Jesus asserts that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him. This contradicts biblical wisdom, as chasing after false gods is a sin. There is no biblical evidence that God has given authority to stars or astrologists. Pursuing predictions about our destiny or personality is biblically sinful, as it takes power from God and gives it to something other than God. A horoscope cannot change what God has already ordained before we were even created.

Do billionaires use astrologers?

The practice of astrology is not founded upon the principles of conventional empirical evidence.

Is astrologer better than prophet?

The Prophet class in Elden Ring has a high Mind stat but is more focused on Incantations than spells and spirits. They have higher Vigor and Strength, making them suitable for co-op gameplay. Incantations in the game are effective for healing allies and setting things on fire, making them perfect for co-op. The Prophet has a spear, shield, and two spells: Catch Flame and Heal. They can summon as well as the Astrologer, but have higher Vigor and Strength. Xbox Live Gold for co-op access is available at OffGamers.

Should you believe astrological predictions?

Should you believe astrological predictions?

Astrology is a belief system that suggests a connection between astronomical phenomena and human events or personality descriptions. However, it has been criticized by the scientific community for lacking explanatory power and scientific testing has found no evidence to support its premises or effects. The most famous test, led by Shawn Carlson, concluded that natal astrology performed no better than chance. Astrology has not demonstrated its effectiveness in controlled studies and has no scientific validity, making it regarded as pseudoscience.

There is no proposed mechanism by which stars and planets’ positions and motions could affect people and events on Earth in the way astrologers claim, which contradicts well-understood aspects of biology and physics. Modern scientific inquiry into astrology focuses on the correlation between astrological traditions and the influence of seasonal birth in humans.

Can astrology predict marriage?

The institution of marriage is not a predictable phenomenon; rather, it is shaped by a complex interplay of attitudes and circumstances. Nevertheless, based on accurate birthdates or horoscopes, a favorable period can be predicted, although there is no guarantee that it will occur. While indications are provided, it is not possible to guarantee that the outcome will be as anticipated.

Can astrologers be wrong?

Can astrologers be wrong?

Astrology is a complex field that involves the study of celestial events and their effects on individuals’ horoscopes. However, some astrologers may attempt to connect these celestial events with individual horoscopes based on their rashi, which can lead to the failure of predictions. This is because the system of Medini is not always applicable to the prediction of individual events, and dasa systems may support survivors in surviving.

Ignoring divisional charts in making predictions about individuals has become a common practice among recent astrologers. This is due to the need for accurate time of birth, skillful calculation and interpretation of divisional charts, and the need for time-consuming analysis. In today’s fast-paced world, this is not possible, and birth time rectification is necessary for proper use of divisional charts.

Another cause of failure in astrological predictions is the error of the astrologer. A professional astrologer with depth of knowledge and egolessness is essential for accurate predictions. The science of astrology is complete in itself, and human interpretation can be questioned.

Divine intervention in prediction is another significant factor. In the Mahabharata battleground, Lord Krishna showed his Vishwaroop to Arjun for counseling and reminding him to his duties. However, God concealed this information from Arjun, and no astrologer could predict what God wanted to conceal. A competent astrologer who meditates or prays regularly, is egoless, knowledgeable, and thinks themselves as a Nimit (conduit).

The failure of prophets of doom predictions has also been a concern. Western astrologers have often made predictions about the end of the world due to specific planet arrangements, but this has also failed. Some western astrologers argue that astrology originated in Babylon, Egypt, and Rome, while Vedic astrology is considered a more competent system for analyzing future happenings.

Finally, the importance of considering country, time, and individual factors in predicting predictions has also been emphasized. While child marriage was once the main practice in Vedic times, it has become illegal and astrology should adapt to modern times. Astrological predictions should correlate with the changing nature of society and the astrologer should understand the trend to make relevant predictions.

In conclusion, astrological remedies may sometimes fail due to various reasons, including the use of divisional charts, egolessness, and the need for accurate predictions.

Is face reading astrology real or fake?

Physiognomy, a practice that has been widely accepted since ancient times, is considered pseudoscience by academics due to its unsupported claims. However, popular belief in physiognomy is still widespread, and advances in artificial intelligence have sparked renewed interest in the field. Physiognomy was popularized by Johann Kaspar Lavater and later fell into disrepute in the 16th century. Today, physiognomy is a subject of renewed scientific interest, particularly in machine learning and facial recognition technology.

The main concern for scientists today is the risks, including privacy concerns, of physiognomy in the context of facial recognition algorithms. Physiognomy, also known as anthroposcopy, dates back to antiquity and is often referred to as anthroposcopy. Notions of the relationship between an individual’s outward appearance and inner character date back to antiquity, with early Greek poetry and ancient Indian texts defining personal characteristics with body features.

  • I had the worst experience with astrology . My boyfriend’s and my parents kept running from one astrologer to another showing our kundli matching and they all gave us horrible points -2.5/36 and said this marriage won’t work at all . Thankfully my bf was level headed and we decided to get married anyway . And that was the best decision of our lives . 7 years of beautiful marriage and still counting . I guess planets also fail when u have love in your heart ❤️

  • This is indeed true, my dad’s an astrologer and many of his predictions about my study-related thingies came out true and then i found myself becoming too much dependent and addictive on astrology thus missing out lots of opportunities thinking about bright future instead of studying, so what i really want to put up is astrology can predict what can happen in future but you certainly have the power to ruin it or make it better

  • Your words save my life.❤️ I am very depressed because of the prediction of my future. It made a negative energy in my life. Sometimes I can’t do anything because of this future prediction thoughts. Now I am very confident. I believe that Everything is depends on our hardwork. If I work hard & smart, I can achieve my goals. ❤️ Believe in karma.

  • Astrology for me is a Divination tool to explore myself – mostly my shadow/ the unconscious part of me, and to heal the trauma (from past life and early life). Btw, it helps me to see “myself” as an objective being – by that I transcend the self. I use Astrology a long time ago, but now, I no longer need it for myself – neither transit chart (which is used for prediction) – when I settle in the present moment and trust in the totality of life. But I still use Astrology to help some of my friends who are too trapped in their psychological process – because via Astrology, they view themselves objectively and not take their “ego” too seriously anymore. In my opinion, that’s the most meaningful way to use these Divination tools – as a guidance, not a prediction. Co-create with the Divine, not to be a slave of fate.

  • I think astrology shows you what’s happening inside of you and around you so that you can grow and mature. You choose. I think there are different kinds of astrologers maybe. I am in my sade sati period and I thought I was going mad, i then read about astrology and I new I had to take my life in my hands and stand up again. Astrology actually saved me.

  • I feel very distracted after hearing my uncle’s talk about astrology, planets and how they influence us.Eventhough I am not a believer of it I became very depressed after hearing it.That time I watched this article, really felt relived. I like the points mentioned by Sadhguru.Really people like Sadhguru led us to right paths.

  • I think a lot of people aren’t listening to his message with an open mind. He’s saying that astrology as a practice/astrological predictions/the relationship between astrologer and client or audience influence the outcome of certain situations. This is definitely true. The planets he acknowledges have influence- and he also asks the question if you are going to understand what your influence is. By looking too much at the stars and anthropomorphizing their motion and then taking on that anthropomorphization, you’re taking away your independent energetic potential. “Let the stars go anywhere”- this is wisdom that astrology as a practice/study/science can use. Let it go.

  • That are the exact words of Jesus and my grandmama: love today; one day at a time…Without consciously trying, I live one second at a time. It’s too much exhaustion thinking of later, tomorrow, of events or what I will eat. I do take precautions and live life within my means but I am ok if things don’t work out as planned. Because of this, I now know what freedom is and I truly see God’s artwork on this planet

  • I think we should balance how much importance we give to your horoscope and to your own efforts. One should not look at horoscope as a rule book and do everything as per that. But it can be used as a guiding light to decide the macro dynamics of one’s life. Also one must use it to be patient when in struggle and learn to be grounded when is too much success. “Sakala graha bala neene sarasijaksha” goes a Purandara dasa song. Which in essence echos concentrate on the almighty God than the getting bogged down by other influences. You can cross every hurdle in your life.

  • I am addicted to it, instead of going to a doctor I will go to an astrologer. One of the astrologer told me you have certain placement which makes you do lit of research like astroligy. So instead of doing somebody with my research habit I am always on Google searching for astrological remedy.it made me hypochondriac also.

  • If astrology, predictions are not needed. Then why we need God, why we need culture, then why we need temples, why we need to believe in good karma, why we need to fear to bad karma, then why we need Sadhguru preaching. I agree what he said we can change our destiny ourselves. But not with telling something nonsense. Astrology is not only for predictions it is a mathematics calculating the past good or bad karmas of a soul to improve its future wellbeing. I was thinking he is well versed in everything By this article I understood Sadhguru needs more spiritual practice to know what to know. (A yogi Even after elightenment he should think he is a kid to learn more and more. otherwise whenever he thinks he knows everything then he will be called yogabrashta)

  • Well said… We create our own future… To create our future we have to work on our present… That’s what his message is… He is very smart… He always explain things… He doesn’t say this is wrong our this is right… We have to take that decision… We have to choose… That’s the main thing I love about him

  • In fact astrology is so powerful, that even if prepared at times you can’t do or see everything that’s coming to hit you ! I wouldn’t comment on astrology so carelessly. It’s becoming very popular on you tube . Lots and lots of people are studying for the obvious reason- it’s not some bogus – it’s way more to it then You let it !

  • For those who want to know the Science behind Astrology, read the below excerpt(it’s very long): In March 1951,an American radio engineer John H.Nelson discovered that there was a degradation in propagation of radio waves with respect to different position of planets and at different angles. Now,what has radio waves has to do with humans? Well, radio waves as we know is a form of electromagnetic waves. Now even human brain emits Electromagnetic waves which are better known as brain waves(EEG-electroencephalogram). Now both radio waves and brain waves are a form of electromagnetic waves. Here brain waves are weaker form of electromagnetic waves which are very hard to measure unlike radio waves. Now,if certain position of planets in space can cause disruption in propagation of radio waves, then it can also affect humans too. Dr.Percy Seymour(British Astrophysicist and Astronomer),PhD states that the revolving planets plays a very important role in the development of foetus and in brain development of a human baby. The revolving planets orchastrates solar activity and geomagnetism. “An English astronomer named Percy Seymour has formulated a scientific theory of astral influences that describes the solar system as an intricate web of planetary fields and resonances. The Sun, Moon, and planets telegraph their effects to us via magnetic signals, says Seymour, an astrophysicist and respected authority in the field of cosmic magnetism. Omnipresent throughout the universe, magnetism is known to affect the biological cycles of numerous creatures here on Earth, including humans.

  • Parnam, 🌺🙏 Well shared and fully agreed with each word you shared it’s all about our inclination and positive attitude which compel the things around….to happen on positive note Astrology is a Devine science a science of God …. Astrology never been meant to predict daily routine and materials around …. but was to know how we can smoothly complete Karmic Chakra from birth to death….to attain Moksha…. Even if any ask to predict at last seek only solution for problems which astrology define as per planet position….. 5 Basic karma complete the astrology for common person …… Put Trees Feed birds Feed watery creatures Feed animals Feed the needy who can’t earn Regards 🙏

  • I am very interested in astrology and spiritual growth. I have been told by random strangers years apart the same thing. I am and old soul, my light around me is pink, I am a ” dead mother”and my energy is “different” or advanced . I listen to Clair Nakti and klara delpeache, they have a Great understanding on astrology and how it works. I don’t look at horoscopes and the Western astrology community never appealed to me, even though I had a feeling that something about it was true. I discovered Vedic astrology and realized how different it was and how spot on it is, it clicked in ways that western astrology never did. I don’t look at astrology to tell me who to love or date, that’s ridiculous. I don’t look at astrology to tell my future either because that never felt” right” to me, “right” meaning this is not important to my spiritual development. I use it to understand the energies In myself and the energies in the people around me. I like to know at what stage the soul is and why is that I feel connected to this person or not connected to this one. Astrology=energy.

  • So far astrology helped in to know myself. And it was accurate. To trace my past & now starting journey to make peace with my past. But it is true if you delve to much in future you’ll get depressed especially if your future have some bad things. And one must always remember that bad or good we are just experiencing our past or this life karna. So we should just keep doing good.

  • Astrology is not a enemy of humanity. Our rishes urge this extraordinary knowledge for human growth only. People should understand what they did wrong in past n how they do right Karma’s for their happy life or for their next birth. It’s not a joke when a astrologer say that do respect yr father, mother, sister etc n ur planets will be give you good effect.

  • As an intuitive astrologer I don’t use the tool for future predictions although I can see the possibilities. After an intense and mystical experience I was forced into it. Uranus came into Taurus and my Vertex activated. I use Astrology now to help people heal from trauma. I show them the whys and give them tools to let go. I barely make it as I am down to the bare minimum but I was in real estate and did very well. To be pushed into this was divine. I see it in my chart. Creative forces within us push us through life to go in the direction the soul intends to go and the birth chart does indeed hold merit. The soul is destined to overcome and the chart makes that clear. We all have a purpose and this purpose is always in sink no matter what kind of life they lived. It was set in the stars. As above, so below.

  • Because of astrology my love is getting separated. I can’t marry the person. But we never fought for even small things. We never argue. We understand each other so well. Still why astrology telling we can’t be together. If we are together. Someone will die between us what the horoscope told. Is that all true # sadhguru # against horoscope horoscope stop separating lovers

  • What he says is sooo true…we become wt v beleive. And finding genuine astrologers is very difficult these days. Most of them try to create a sense of fear and make money out of it.So if somebody predicts sumthng negative, v wud just think”oh my god!!!its gonna happen!its gonna happen!”and bring dt negativity into a course of action. So just beleiving in divine power and ourselves is much more better.thts just my opinion😄👍i hv nothing against astrology

  • To me Astrology is a guide. We have free will. Astrology cannot predict the future. It can show our relationship to each other. A snap shot spiritually where have been and where we may go. There are positive and challenges in every aspect. We can let it teach us. Just like life. We are connected to each other and everything. Astrology is an example of that and a reminder that we truly are one. My thoughts.

  • Astrology is like any occult practice, neither good nor bad and it’s effectiveness depends entirely on how receptive the person is to it. Anyone in the path of yoga, in total control of the mind, deep in consciousness is free from depending on faith of any kind. Usually the reason people visit an astrologer is when their lives are in turmoil, they are seeking some kind of divine guidance ’cause they cannot figure things out themselves. The main utility of faith is to help you forgive yourself and surrender to the “divine purpose”. It’s a matter of going from seeing life as a glass half empty to half full. Astrology shifts the blame from yourself to the influence of planets and your past life’s karma. If you are incapable of understanding the problems of self hate and guilt, feeling like a victim, then any belief helps you forgive yourself, remove fears and gives you confidence to move on. It doesn’t matter, strong faith in God or any occult might help you in some way, but it is limited. It’s a damn shame that people who are in the path of yoga, seeking higher concepts of God n consciousness still get deluded by faith. When you are in a process, you must surrender to it and only then will you get anywhere. People go from bhakti to divination ’cause they have not surrendered to their higher self.

  • Astrology is real, but he is correct when he talks about how we know more about someone by looking at them. But this is because every sign, house and planet works like a cube- each has different flavors to it. It’s like Pluto having different shades of gray. Which shade is the correct one, well who knows, but that’s why it’s important for an astrologer to use both her intuition and her knowledge of astrology. If on top of that she uses psychology, bingo. She’s easily one of the top astrologers, because astrology ALONE won’t give you everything and anything. You need your intuition about the person too. Also- Astrology isn’t deterministic. You can change your destiny and your beliefs etc. Most people don’t, they just go with the flow of their own determined traits which is why astrology works. As soon as someone becomes very self aware and is able to change his mentality, attitudes, beliefs, behaviors etc., then astrology can’t easily predict his future. A lot of astrologers give it a bad reputation because they call themselves professionals, but few are those who possess the gift of true astrological knowledge.

  • Astrology is a guide not a manual. People often ask if there is free will in astrology. But let’s not forget that our will and karma of past lives have formed the chart in this lifetime. Past might influence us now but present can also influence future. Besides here Sadhguru talks about spirituality which consolidates the 9th house of astrology. The most powerful and benefic house of astrology. If you strengthen your 9th house, automatically things will fall into place. They often say that vastu and astrology don’t influence spiritual people. Not that their lives will be perfect but they have enough core strength to take on anything that previous lives karma throws at them.

  • Astrology helps you to know what you can do in comfort way it also alerts you about your future through astrology you may not do miracles but you can manage the time. To be Frank I am learning astrology but still we can change the future by doing penance and repentance because, of him has no image he is omni present.

  • If you hear him carefully Sadhguru is saying don’t let such things (astrology) influence your life simply don’t get carried away with those and do your work sincerely. However he also says yes to some extent astrology can predict few things for you but still just focus on your work else you will just sit quietly doing nothing.. getting too much under astrology is also similar to other substance abuse

  • Wel i came here because i ws so depressed after i got to knew that i am going to die if i marry the girl now i am in love with. Honestly i do not believe those stupid things however some people in my family and some people in my girlfriends family believe in these things. So we are in a tough situation. But now i feel so relaxing after listening to sadhguru.

  • “I could tell you what will be your future for the next ten years, …. within three days half the city will be standing in a queue” 0:00- 0:58 – so true! Responding to a comment below the original yt article about astrology, by Sujal Shrestha:- “I am astrologer from Nepal. He says astrologers doesnot look at stars. Astrologers tells u by looking at peoples behaviour. Sadhguru is telling very wrong thing in this. He should be shamefull on this.” Sujal Shreshtha – he isn’t writing off astrology, and nor is saying every astrologer is fake. Where most people cannot see the point or work, there is more chance for fraud, but it happens and can happen in places such as allopathic medical practices too. He is telling people to rise above the effect, which a yogi can and many do.
