I should’ve checked with dr Dray First. lol i just ran out to buy this and it was sold out so i had to go to a few places before i could land a 65 ml 1.0 fl oz. My reasons. My moisturizers arent working. I was using cerave moisurizing cream (tub and pump) as not to spend too much jut i guess its fine in the summer but i need a little something more during these winter months. I have clinique dramatically different, tatcha dewy skin cream, first aid ultra repair, dermatologica intensive moisture balance and recently i purchased kiehls ultra facial cream and charlotte tilbury magic cream. I almost bought the LaMer on clearance for $97. So im trying. I am still using the other products as not to let them go to waste. So far I like it but its only been 3 days so it’s too soon to tell not sure if it’s worth a repurchase but I like to treat myself occasionally and this was on my treat list.
Hi Dr. I’m just wondering if maybe you could talk about how certain types of water affect the skin. I live in a soft water area and unless I use foaming agents on my skin I literally cannot get my sunscreen moisturiser off my skin including my face. My skin does not tolerate the chemical sunscreens at all. And they are far from harmless. Some of them are absorbed to the bloodstream and thus forbidden to use on small children. I wonder why isn’t this discussed more? Probably because it’s so big business worldwide. Could you do a article about the subject perhaps, please?

I tried a tester of it and it plumped up the back of my hand but I wasn’t going to pay $100. Lol. I might as well just use the Cerave psoriasis moisturizing cream.
I couldn’t agree more with your review, Dr Dray. I did an in-depth review of the Charlotte Tilbury skincare line youtu.be/gi1MLRoW0MQ a while back, and while I have to admit the Magic Cream has a beautiful smoothing effect on the skin, the inclusion of fragrance is extremely irritating and overpowering. I find that the CreVa Moisturizing Cream provides a similar effect without the unnecessary irritation 🙏
I have always loved Charlotte’s lipsticks (still, LOTS of fragrance). I lost some respect for her however when I read an article where she advocated for women wearing their eye make up to bed. Yikes- I mean, who are we trying to fool here? If my husband/sig other cannot handle the fact that I was not born wearing eyeliner and mascara …….anyway- I just see the whole make up line in a different light. As much as I love her highlighters and lipsticks, its just not a brand I look to for skincare.

It’s used to prep the skin for makeup application it’s not exactly your night time moisturizer…yes, it’s pricey but I actually like it and her whole makeup line. I can see why you or someone who doesn’t wear makeup doesn’t care for this product. I understand the confusion on the high price point but it is a higher end beauty product.
I bought a $400-something Charlotte Tilbury set of magic cream, magic eye rescue and night mask. This was the WORST choice. It offered only irritation and dehydration, both to my skin and my bank account. Don’t get sucked into the CT hype. After using simple drug store moisturizers (per Dr. Dray’s recommendations) I now have the best version of my skin.

People, please help me with your experience! I have severe dry skin which always makes my foundation look cakey. On top of that dry skin, I also really easily break out (no acne though). I have tried so many things, but I just can’t find a good skincare routine that makes my makeup look okay. Ok, so I got a full size Magic Cream in a Charlotte Tilbury mystery box. I used it on my face twice but it’s so heavily fragranced that I couldn’t apply it again without hearing Dr. Drays voice “CONTACT DERMATITIS!”. So now I’m using it as a neck cream until it runs out. But after perusal this article I might just use it as a foot cream…thoughts?! 😓🤣
I deliberately don’t purchase any of those over over hyped skincare brands or makeup products. You will find all of those ingredients in other brands at a fraction of the cost. Also you can find excellent drugstore dupes for most of the over priced makeup brands. The makeup artists and cosmetic companies make millions of dollars reproducing and repackaging more or less the same products but with what they might say ‘new improved formula with added ingredients’. There are far too many new cosmetic lines and new makeup products that are put out too quickly. All done to make as much money out of men and women. Obviously it’s up to individual how and what they spend their money on. I’d rather save that money and book a holiday at some point.
If fragrance affect the vitamin a I wonder why skinceuticals always recommend that people use their retinol 0.5 with the triple lipid restore 2-4-2 which has a very strong fragrance 😣😩😵🤢🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ I just wasted my almost $180 cad for that. 🙄🙄🙄😤😤😤 What better moisturizer can I partner with acne prone /sensitive skin dr. Anyway, now i want to you ask you some question because i will start to use “Tretinoin” the next month and i have NO IDEA so deep how is the proper use and which products can do mix and don’t mix. So, if you or someone here that knows pretty well can help me i will appreciate so much, because i am living in Japan and here actually Retin A is banned and dermatologiest doesn’t know pretty well, so i will buy by internet. Btw, my questions are: 1-I am using twice a day(3 in summer season) a cleanser “Low Ph by Cosrx 5.5ph”, but has salicityc acid, my question is: Do i need to continue use it at the moment i start to use the Retin A or i’d avoid, in that case which cleanser can you recommend me??? I was thinking the “Purito barrier Ph 5.5” 2-I used to exfoliate my skin 2 a week with a AHA 7% by Cosrx. I heard that the first month when i start with Tretinoin i don’T need to use any chemical exfoliator(or peel) because the Retinoids already exfoliate the dead skin and using bith will irritate my skin: what is your opinion??? 3-I will start with 0.05% Tretoin, is okay for anti aging and anti wrinkles or i should skip and take the 0.5%??? 4-My night routine is: Double cleanse(oil cleansing, face wash). Toner(balancing 6ph). Essence and Emulsion(i have oily skin and sensitive). When i start to use Tretoin…Essence is really necessary or i need to stop using, if the answer is yes i’d apply the Essence before or after Tretinoin?
I love the luxurious packaging. No matter how good a product is if packaging is not nice and if it doesn’t have fragrance I would not use it . I love fragrance in my skincare, hair care makeup everywhere. And I hate any citrus or fruity fragrance. I prefer floral or woody fragrance. I would even use poison if the packaging is nice and luxurious, I love glass or crystal jars with gold caps and it must smell nice . 😂😂😂 I want that old world nostalgia. I want to die luxuriously with my lead based makeup laced with fragrance.😂😂😂
After trying and ADORING a few of the Charlotte Tilbury make up products (unexpectedly) I have just ordered this cream to try. I don’t know if I will like it and before I turned 35 I never used a moisturiser or cleanser, just soap. I have beautiful skin and many products cause me to breakout or irritate me. Except for the Japanese brand Suqqu – which is AMAZING!!! I think wveryone has to find what works for them – trial and error. Simple and routine is best so your skin can adapt to it. But although I appreciate your detailed review, I’m sorry but it’s a bit depressing. People invest in these products because they want to ‘buy’ anti ageing products that actually work. Why not make a article – expensive luxury products that ACTUALLY work and will help you do A B C…? Not everyone wants a cheap deal. Women enjoy beauty and make up and being feminine and want to invest on special occasions into products that are considered luxury but also produce some sort of recognisable benefit. Please make a article not on saving money but on ‘if you’re rich what should you buy to look amazing…’.
