I mean, this is a more customer friendly version of the story bit that Triumph of Ferocity and Triumph of Cruelty depict. Show Garruk playing up the board in Arena and Liliana wiping the board and seizing control is pretty flashy and less uncomfortable than Garruk ambushing Lili, grabbing her by the neck and demanding she fix what she did to him and her summoning some zombies while he focused on her that end up pulling him off. Glad that Eldraine brings Garruk out of his rough patch. I wonder how he’ll react the next time he meets Lili now that he has no reason to pursue her? Especially since she’s gone from selfserving villainess to roaming antihero.
Standing in the area, ready to fight, and in walks this immensely beautiful woman in a deep purple dress and a gold crown. Throw down, trade some shots, but you’re on the rise. Then she starts doing something and her skin starts to glow with bright purple runes. “OK, this has to end now” and you go full-bore. Not rushing in, being a little cautious as you build up a strike. You’re winding up and she summons thousands of tongues of purple fire, sorts through them for a moment, touches three of them, and suddenly you’ve lost. Those cursed purple runes leap out of her skin, and this time even her eyes take on that unholy blaze as a cruel sneer creeps across her face while the darkness closes in.
Great trailer. Got better throughout and well executed the point of this being a heavy strategy game, unlike the competitors. Music is fine with good pacing and is clearly targeting masses. Anyone who doesn’t see that is a pretentious nerd who WotC is not trying to sell to because you’re already sold.
Any one else think it’s weird that after “Millions of Combos,” it’s just Kaya’s Wrath and Command the Dreadhorde? Or that she somehow gets a Barkhide Troll instead of a Nullhide Ferox, which insinuates the game is bugged? Or that the music is absolute trash? Love the game BTW, but this trailer is straight ass.

Yea that about right. I had like 16 life and an army of tokens plus some other creatures (planeswalker including), and my opponent had 5 lives with no creatures or anything. All of the sudden he/she played that one card destroyed all my creatures and used all my creatures from my graveyard to finished me off. He only had 1 card in his/her hand, ONE CARD! Happened to me almost in every games.
Does anyone know if the legacy legal deck that basically builds a computer is possible in this game? In other words, I wanna know if this has all the right cards you’d need to build the legendary turing complete magic the gathering deck set and then, should you get the one card you need to build it, begin building the TCM in the digital version… And yes, the deck is actually totally fine and you can, if you let the staff know what your about to do (or dont just to be an extra pain) just stone wall an entire tournament by setting up a turing complete machine out of your deck (If you dont know, the short of it is, you draw your entire deck and they cant play the game so the turn passes back to you which leaves you with playing the only card you have due to maintenance)
Honestly Arena is pretty fun but for spending 200$ on Arena I literally have almost nothing to show for it. Thats pushing 40,000 gems worth of packs that Ive opened. The entire point of me spending money was so I WOULDNT have to mindlessly grind games (that I cant even find opponents to show up for a lot of the time, sitting in que for 40 minutes or just never ending ques). So I could (like paper magic) spend the money and have cards to play with. A FULL DECK. For 200$ and getting ZERO paper magic cards in return, I have one mostly completed deck, and another deck that would love to be more colors and less basic, run some rares; but that takes hundreds of dollars worth of wildcards or hundreds of hours of gameplay to grind at it without being able to play a full deck. For 200$, why do I not have enough to make 2 full decks? I could have made a paper magic version of my deck and had it foiled out entirely for almost 140$, but for 200$ I cant even make 2 decks? Really wizards? Wouldnt I feel MORE encouraged to spend money on your game if I actually felt like I was getting some value in return? Case in point: I just cracked 20 packs of Crimson Vow and Midnight hunt: 0 ‘rare’ lands (aka the only card I cared about). NGL its starting to become a theme with this game. I feel like ‘maybe I could try to spend a bit of money’, then I just regret it. IDK why you guys have to squeeze us so hard for $$$ for even basic shit like lands. Why do I have to spend 300$ PER NEW SET for NOT EVEN REAL CARDS just so I have the damn lands I want to use?
You know what I hate? The game officially released in fall 2019 but it’s been in closed beta since fall 2017 and open beta since fall 2018. Sets like Ixalan have already rotated out and the progression is so slow in this game that you have no real chance of “making back time” and collecting past sets as well even if you would like to, at least not at the expense of not being able to play them competitively.
I say this out of love for Magic and the desire I have for you guys to succeed, this is a really bad trailer. The music is just weird, the animations are just kind of boring (like seriously, who thought Liliana pawing at the air awkwardly would look cool?) and I feel like cutting more out would make this a better trailer. I think a trailer with different music and just showing gameplay would get you guys more new players than however many people may have started playing because of this trailer.
MTG: Arena is an unbalanced mess. There are only 4 decks viable with each set released. Red and Esper being constant staples. The shuffler is bugged, rigging games in one players favor.
