Memory Maker Instructions Without A Magic Band?

Memory Maker is a service that allows guests to collect photographic memories from Disney’s parks without the need for a MagicBand or MagicBand+. It works by scanning a PhotoPass card or theme park admission card, which photographers then scan to collect photos. To use Memory Maker without a MagicBand, guests must link their Memory Maker to their Disney account and scan the KTTW card or photopass code in the app.

For off-site guests, Memory Maker works the same as on-site guests, but they need a MagicBand, ticket, or QR code from their phone to scan. They can access to view and download all photos and videos taken by a PhotoPass photographer in the parks and on rides and attractions. To link ride photos to your account, turn on Bluetooth on your phone and allow My Disney Experience (MDE) to use it.

Magic bands work the same way as PhotoPass, connecting to the Bluetooth on your phone instead of your phone. For non-ride pictures, you can scan the KTTW card or the photopass code in the app. Memory Maker includes photos taken during the Memory Maker window and linked to the Memory Maker Guest’s Disney account. However, a Magic Band is required to receive photos.

Key cards can be used for Memory Maker without magic bands, but they may not always work. If you don’t have a Magic Band, you will need to scan at the end of the ride or get a camera to scan for you. The photographers may only work with older bands, but some may still work with their daughters’ bands.

  • I am so excited that I opted for this photo pass. I was originally only going on my trip with my son this coming November for his fifth birthday and I didn’t want to have to keep asking people to take her photos. My mom has now decided she’s gonna come with us and all of us get to use the photo pass which I am so excited about.

  • Thank you so much for this article! My husband (we’ve been married two months woohoo) has NEVER been to Disney, we are going in July and we will be at Magic Kingdom on his birthday! I only pre-purchased Memory Maker for our day at Magic Kingdom but after perusal your article I am going to get it for all 3 parks. Thank you!
