In Hogwarts Legacy, the choice between keeping the ancient magic repository contained or opening it depends on the player’s moral path and the desired ending. If the player is following a moral path, they should keep the magic contained to achieve a neat conclusion. On the other hand, if the player is following a darker path, they should open the repository, leading to an evil ending.

To choose the good ending, click “I intend to keep it contained here” to get the “good ending”. The game will still involve fighting Ranrok as the final boss, and both players will try to contain the magic, but Fig will overexert. Keeping the Repository contained will seal the Ancient Magic away for good, giving a good ending. Opening the Repository will give unfettered access to the magical items.

If the player is playing on the moral side, they should choose to contain the repository and allow the story to wrap up cleanly. However, if they are playing on the bad/dark side, they should consider destroying or opening the repository. Destroying the repository could set off a bad ending, while opening it could lead to an evil ending.

Players must respond with “I intend to keep it contained here”, to which Professor Fig will react positively. He will then ask them how long they intend to keep the repository.
