Is it good to do a Tarot reading for yourself?

📹 How to Do a Yes / No Reading | Tarot Cards
Hello, I’m Ellen Goldberg and I welcome you to a Tarot Moment for the School of Oracles. This segment is a variation on one …
I loved your article. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I am a spiritual reader, I go by what the “voices” the universe tells me. Recently, I just started Tarot, because I no longer want to TELL people, but moreless, become an interrupter. (If that makes sense.) I appreciate the article. Lastly, I want to note the crazy orb in your article so casually floating by, when you began. That was your Grandmother. A wise woman she was. And although so small, and at a young age, she taught you the “ways.” Thank you and God bless. Love and light
I realize this article is years ago. I used to dabble slightly with tarot 25 years ago or so. recently I decided I wanted to pick it up again and truly learn. I stumble on to your article and there are your table is my coffee cup. lol the one sitting right next to me at this moment. I believe it’s a New Orleans French Quarter cup. I think I’m going to learn a lot from you. 😉
This was a great and informative article! Thank you. I have a few questions: 1. Do you recommend practicing tarot readings on oneself before reading others? 2. Is there a way to get your cards intune with your own energy? 3. It seems like the cards help read past, present and future. Lots of people hope to just get a better understanding of the future through tarot cards, but do you reckon that the cards are a good way to understand your past life as well? I hope you’ll be able to help me with these!
I first watched this about 2 years ago when I got my first deck and I didn’t finish it then, why I’m not sure. I just had this article come up in my suggestions and watched it not realizing until you started talking that I’d watched before. I finished it this time. All that to say thank you for your time and for making these articles. Many blessings to you
One funny reading that I did was a one card draw thing with my friends, mostly just for some curious laughs. The card I got proclaimed to me that I might be forgetting something that is rather important to me and my future. I couldn’t pin point it for a moment as my friend read out the description, ‘What could I-… !!! SHIT I forgot about that meeting!’ It was rather funny as I grabbed my bag, dropping the card in my friends pile and rushed outside the doors to meet with my teacher about my classes for next semester. My friends through it was the funnest thing in the world.
i kid you not i swear i see orbs and spirits in this article lol xD i want to say they are specks of dust or bugs but i highly doubt any bug or speck can move like that lol o.O Am I seeing spirits? 3:55 when says “the appearance” and it spins across the screen and earlier when was explaining how to flip the cards there were specific words that they appeared to where they trying to say something? lol can…can anyone else see these? is it just me? kinda freakin out here lmao xD
can you please, recommend a good book that goes hand in hand with the tutorial you just did… ( a book that interprets the cards in an easy to understand format) … I have the Ryder-Waite 78 card set ( yellow box set, original set), i love them but the guidebook is really small and difficult to understand ( does have a nice mat for Celtic Cross)
I tend to read all the cards in the spread together not individually, like a story. Each position represents a different aspect of the story the starting point, past, what crowns, issues that might come up etc etc. so there is a overall moral, point or direction. 10 of swords I read as the ” everything is wrong my life is over I will never get back up!” Over reacting that the problems are self created worrying and self defeating thought patterns. It is really not as bad as the person believes it to be. (Hence the light in off in the distance) and not so much death in family or death at all. Since swords are about intellect and thought of mind. and the card that preceded it, 9 of swords, tormented by worries loosing sleep over it etc.. what do you think? Am I on the right track?
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed your article and your wilingness to share with us abiut your own life, insecurities and troubles with family. I’m sorry that your relationship with family isn’t great, but yiu seem to have a beautiful partner, so you are blessed! We are all human and we are all connected. Take care!~
Super helpful article thank you!i brought the gothic tarot cards illustrated by Anna Stokes today so quite new at it. I saw them a while go passing by and was drawn to them ever since. The store clerk told me to browse for a while and think about which of the packs i was most drawn to. Having a good time learning already 🙂
I try to keep my cards in the upright position at the start. When I start to shuffle tho, I make a conscious effort not to pay too much attention that they stay upright, so if it comes up reverse, I consider it more carefully. But, is that wrong? I like them to all be upright when I put them away or take them out. I’ve wondered, however, that by doing so, I’m influencing the reading more than I should….Advice? Suggestions?
Check this out i used a tarot deck for the first time yesterday in the Celtic cross and my question was… will my marriage survive? First card 5 of pentacles cross card 9 of pentacles subconscious card knight of pentacles conscious card 6 of pentacles past card 5 of cups reversed near future card 5 of wands the cards going up on the side from the bottom 7 swords ace of cups the high priestess out come king of wands
I got the 7 of cups as a outcome of my Celtic cross. My question was a business related question and I am trying to start a company. I am guessing it means if I don’t take action towards my dreams they will stay dreams. But from what I read it could also mean that this dream is probably hopeful or won’t pan out?
I know this article was done years ago but I’ve recently been looking to practice tarot and I just got my first deck! As a very beginner doing a reading on myself, I find it hard to 1) interpret the card initially, 2) once I read the “definition” I can’t seem to separate the reading from my intuition. When trying to reflect on the card, I find myself trying to “find” what fits.. I know its not right though. Do you have any recommendations?
hello, i am not sure if this is late or not but i recently bought a tarot and the way to lay it out is by using the a pentagram as shown in the little booklet that came with it so i would first get the significator card and then the rest would go from 1-5 which would be spirit earth water fire and air im not sure weather i should set them out like you do or keep on doing the pentagram method please.help im very confused
