In the context of success and achievements, the term “in one’s own right” refers to something or someone being in a position or situation that has been achieved by their own ability and effort. This term was originally used to refer to a legal title or claim, such as “She was queen in her own right”, but has been used more loosely since about 1600.
In one’s own right, qualities such as adherence to duty or obedience to lawful authority constitute the ideal of moral propriety or merit moral approval. It is important to note that someone is successful or respected because of their own efforts and talents. The meaning of “in its own right” is due to its own special qualities and not because of a connection with something else.
In the context of success and achievements, the term “in one’s own right” can be used to describe something or achieve something on one’s own, without relying on others. For example, “she’s a rich woman in her own right rather than by inheritance” can be used to describe someone’s accomplishments and achievements.
In addition to the legal aspects of success, the term “in one’s own right” can also refer to something that has been achieved or achieved by oneself, such as an excellent novel in its own right. Synonyms for “in her own right” include “in his own right”, “in her own right”, and “in one’s own right”.
In summary, the term “in one’s own right” refers to the ability or success of someone or something to achieve something or achieve something on their own, without relying on others. This concept is crucial in today’s world where success and achievements are often achieved through one’s own efforts and talents.
📹 FULL DEBATE: JD Vance and Tim Walz argue over issues in vice presidential debate
Vice president candidates JD Vance and Tim Walz went head-to-head Tuesday night at the 2024 Vice Presidential Debate.
📹 LIVE: Walz vs. Vance in 2024 CBS News Vice Presidential Debate I MSNBC
Governor Tim Walz faces off with Senator JD Vance in their first vice presidential debate, hosted by CBS News. Follow …
I grew up with ABC, NBC and CBS. After the Presidential debate, I dropped ABC, after this debate, I’m dropping CBS. The moderators on both are pathetic, they are supposed to report the news, not try to rig and decide it. Not only is Biden & Harris a disgrace to our country, but ABC, CBS and Walz, and other nations see right through it. Vance nailed this debate 100%, as Trump was right again ! ❤Trump ❤Vance❤ 2024👍
Under our Constitution our VP SHALL BE full-time President of the Senate. JD Vance is the best Senate President, not a Walz knuckle head! Easy, Simple, and LAWFUL! PASS: One Subject at a Time Act! PASS: Read the Bill Act PASS: Write the Bill Act VP Vance: Full-time President of the Senate-Per Supreme Law! ROOT OUT: Our 1899 Majority-minority Leadership schemes. End Whips, Reduce Chairs to an as needed basis! GO REDUCE BUREAUCRACY!
I’m constantly in awe that anyone thinks Trump is somehow going to be the path to achieving the American dream. I don’t think Harris is gonna pull it off either, but let’s not pretend there’s a higher probability of Trump doing it. He’s already been president, and yet look at where we are now. That reflects really poorly on Trump.
If climate change was real why do banks and insurance companies keep lending and insuring places, that would actually be in the path of total and certain destruction. Also why would these big global warming and climate change advocates build in these certain disaster areas???? I’ve always been curious to that.
Good debate when candidates were speaking. Except I really don’t give two hoots of what the moderators think. So biased in negative statements about the R policy before the question, and fact checking, and supportive comments Walz ideas etc. Ridiculous. I guess it is their big moment to think they are smarter than others or their thoughts matter more than the candidates.
Nora O’Donnell: “The leading cause of death for children and teens in America is by firearms.” But ONLY when you include teens — 13- to 19-year-olds — in the data. Last I checked, 18-19 year olds are ADULTS, not “children” … and nobody even thinks of them as “teens.” So including them when talking about school shootings and child deaths is deceptive to say the least. Also, most teen gun deaths are due to the victims’ involvement in criminal — read “gang” — activity. According to the CDC’s “Child Health” web page, the leading causes of death of ACTUAL CHILDREN are: Children ages 1-4 years – Accidents (unintentional injuries) – Congenital malformations, deformations and chromosomal abnormalities – Assault (homicide) Children ages 5-9 years – Accidents (unintentional injuries) – Cancer – Congenital malformations, deformations and chromosomal abnormalities Children ages 10-14 years – Accidents (unintentional injuries) – Intentional self-harm (suicide) – Cancer (Check it out yourself, don’t take MY word for it.) So, sorry Miss O’Donnell, but FACT-CHECKED: FALSE … lacks important context.
Walz: “I laughed to myself when Trump said that he has parts of a plan. As a 4th grade teacher, my kids would never get away with that.” Also Walz (being asked about maternity/paternity leave duration) : “Well… We can discuss that. We plan to extend it from a federal mandate, but we don’t know how much.” Huh! Sounds like parts of a plan.
Like this comment so the trump people can learn: Its not Kamala’s fault that Biden cant pass what she wants in a split congress. Remember when JD said Trump couldnt get what he wanted done bc “Congress wasnt good enough.” If he can understand that for Trump, why cant he understand the same thing for Kamala? Almost like he’s biased and lying to the american people about how it works so they’ll dislike kamala for reasons they shouldnt.
I’ve been voting since I was 18 but I’ve always kept up with politics. I knew alot about things that happened in the world but I never really read about the policy, but i always seen what went on under what administration. I’ve always voted Democrat mainly because it’s what ppl around me said to do .once I started doing my own reading/research and as time passed I’ve noticed especially in my own ppl we vote democratic but we are the most conservative ppl when your in direct conversation. This year I will not be voting Democrat and probably never will I didnt vote for Trump at first because I was listening to the news and ppl but once I did my own reading/research I see alot of that was lies and biases. No I dont agree with everything he wants to do that’s impossible to agree with everything, but for the most part the things that everyday working ppl are looking at im voting for Og Trump lol personally I’ve been sayin it for at least a year and a half He already won he campaigned for 4 whole years I would rather see him than Harris and not that she is a woman not that woman
So many subjects I’ll have to go back and listen to each one, for I have a comment for all of them. But most of all, I’m surprised and glad to see the repeat and understand they had for each other and the patience to listen to each other. I have not heard that in a long time. The only part were there was a heated argument was about the election, Vance couldn’t say Trump lost, that would end his chances for VP but let’s face it shouting out you got to fight like he’ll is not a peaceful protest
It’s freaking hilarious how JD Vance has a very even heel answer strong points very informative very assertive and JD walls is flopping around with whatever earpiece they offered him and the people running this debate are always cutting JD Vance off and treating walls like he’s something special like there’s favoritismthey’re not even being discreet about it anymore. They’re so corrupt it’s so freaking evil.
Part of me wishes Walz was the Democrat nominee. I’m voting for Trump, but it’d be a little refreshing to know that the opposition had a decent speaker. He made plenty of mistakes, but the answers he gave weren’t as bad as Harris’s. (Any question posed) “I grew up in a middle class family. My mother worked hard to put food on our table. I understand what the middle class is going through”) I’m glad her mother did so good… Maybe she should run for president. Harris, however… Please go home.
Walz answers the question about the discrepancy in the dates when he was actually in China with a meandering tale that had nothing to do with those dates. Also, he says “look” so many times it’s like nails on a blackboard. In fairness, JD Vance’s very frequent references to the names of the moderators are also slightly irritating, but nowhere near to the same degree.
I watched the debate last night and JD Vance never answer the questions, just ramble, and lied, so I muted him for most of the debate. However Tim Walz spoke to the poor and the middle class so they understood what he was saying and they going do to help them. That why his favoribility went up. He is a very like able guy.
I must admit, tension was sky high prior to the debate coz we expected the usual vitriol and toxic rhetoric, but tonight it was two gentlemen dueling but in a very respectful and civil way. Even when they disagreed, it was not with the usual divisive vile that normally accompanies it. Thank you Vance, thank Waltz and thank you MSNBC!!!
truthfully. Everyone has mentioned healthcare, but no one has mentioned the type of food that is being sold in this country and causing people to get sick with different type of cancers and diseases. Provide health care more funds…. what about providing funds to abolish the Food and Drug administration’s version of healthy ingredients. Why are organic things so expensive, but the food with the ingredients that you nor I could not even pronounce are cheap enough so that we can purchase and then re-invest the money in medicine… can someone tell me why we are not talking about that with elections?
CBS lost their dignity by putting these two buffoons as moderators. CBS,ABC, NBC,CNN,MSNBC,ETC. are extension of the Democrat party. Vote for the freedom of speech, the right to defend yourself, for closed borders, the Electoral College, for the Police to be respected, Federal Judges who respect the Constitution,r American jobs, VOTE FOR TRUMP! Kamala is a continuation of the current administration!! WE NEED CHANGE!
It was refreshing to see a political debate where candidates actually respected each other. This is a stark reminder of the anomaly that Trump is when it comes to respectful politicians. Hde has got to go and disappear from public views, hopefully in jail, rotting for his crimes. I hope that justice won’t be blind in this case.
The “Family Value Party” doesn’t care about families and children when it comes to health care in general and once those children are born. Before Obamacare we had between 50 and 80 million Americans who did NOT HAVE ACCESS to health care, and I am not just talking pregnancy related health care. I am talking about ALL health care for ALL people. The Rep Party tried 70 times to abolish Obamacare, which reduced the number of people without access to health care to something like 20 to 30 millions, which is still way, way to much. In Germany, universal health care and Social Security was initiated in the 1880’s by chancellor Bismarck. Here we are in supposedly the “greatest” country in the world, about 140 years later, and the health care for American families is a sham. The Reps have tried to stop every program and initiative by the Dems to improve the lives of American families.
4:09 well what about Hannibal Directive ? Israeli mainstream newspapers already said that part of the deaths on Oct. 7 were from Israel itself, from indiscriminate containment practices, emptying out the ammo stores of their attack helicopters and tanks into whatever moved on the ground on Oct. 7. Just as Israel has killed hostages in indiscriminate bombing of Gaza.
Good and respectful debate… in my opinion Gov Walz did better because he did tap in alot into his experiences as a Governor, a practical experience JD doesn’t and even Kamala doesn’t have. JD did well to try and clean up Trump’s messy policies but it’s such a tough job because Trump doesn’t make it any essier.. probably JD should have been the one on top of the ticket and Trump in an orange jumpsuit… but a refreshing debate overall. 👍🏼
It’s like Waltz is learning as he goes. Watch his face. He is like, oh yea that makes sense. He doesn’t speak on letting millions of illegal immigrants into the country. Why can’t they just come in legally? I dont understand Bidans reasoning on allowing people to take and not earn? Would this politician let these these immigrants live on his property DAILY? NOPE….
This debate changed my opinion of Walz and changed my mind on politics in general. This is how America should approach the issues. Hopefully one day soon I hope to see both of these guys as their party’s presidential nominee. This is how American debates should look and cant wait to get back to that. We have a couple of children running for president and we need to get back to adulting.
People talk about how respectful both candidates were but, notice how Vance started by thanking Walz for attending. I wonder if it would’ve gone that way throughout if he wasn’t as respectful to his rival. I wonder if Walz would’ve acted more defensive and aggressive otherwise. I noted this at the beginning and shows he led the debate atmosphere
as a former high school biology teacher who taught the water cycle every year to every single freshman and sophomore that came through my room and knowing that every single person in this United States was taught the water cycle as they went through school and the fact that our own government doesn’t understand how that works is uncomfortable to me
European countries generally only see guns as a sporting tools and does not recognize right to keep guns for self-defense. So, using European model as an example of “reasonable” gun control is in fact unreasonable and is a de facto statement that whoever saying it does intend to infringe on our right. Our guns are not merely for sporting. It is for self-defense.
It’s not about pro family.. It’s pro women with children. You’ll get their sympathy because of that but I really want to know how do you go about women without children ??!! It’s like if you don’t have children you aren’t valued!! Single people have the same right and y’all cater to people with children please talk about people without children ??!? None of you talked about that fr… having children is a CHOICE and CONSCIENCE DECISION WHY DO WE HAVE TO SUFFER ? If I don’t have a child(ren)? When we make the decision to not be a mom then we don’t exist ??? Stop trying to put woman in one category not all woman have or want children
JD Vance explained the process how illegal immigrants can be turned quickly to “legal” by using a CBP one application further developed for this purpose under the Biden-Harris administration. The illegal migrants can apply for parole and be granted legal status at the wave of Harris open border wand. This is an interesting issue, but the microphones were cut. Wery strange. Notice that the application was initially designed for simple travel-related services like scheduling cargo inspections, but it has since evolved into a crucial tool for migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.
I literally hate the aca… the only good part was that it made exceptions for pre existing conditions… every part of it raised insurance costs and because of that I had to go without insurance for 5 years… I have insurance now through my employer but aca was never affordable for me, it was a LOT more expensive for me to go through obama care, I had to wait till I found a job that offered it to be able to afford it again 😢
I’m impressed. What a great debate. Get to know both candidates is really good . Also great topics being discussed. Lots of bipartisan work to be done on which both candidates agreed on. Governor Vance a fresh wind blowing and actually Senator Walz surprised me. Not dull at all. Making a lot of notes while Vance was just all calm and kept it all into his head. I never thought I’d see this day with so much positivity coming from both . America is on a good way. Totally agreed with a lot they said. And Vance was right about the censorship. That should stop. Nora and Margaret from CBS did a great job too. Maybe Trump made some mistakes in 2020 but as Vance said he’s looking to the future and has a great team behind him as well. I was very pleased about both their take on the gun law, reproductice rights, housing and well healthcare is still an issue. But I’m very optimistic about how they will turm that for the better. Great future ahead if both stay on. Lots of cooperation and wilingness to changes and make it better fot all Americans. God bless America!
Oh Tim would know all about rural suicides in Minnesota since his running mate ordered the FBI to have my uncle killed and made it look like a suicide… A poorly mocked up suicide to 😂 So yeah I’m sure you know all about rural suicide in Minnesota Mr walz I’m sure you and your running mate and her FBI Hitman her gestapo have a long list
They literally broke every one of their own rules trying to fix this debate and it’s pathetic. If the democrats have such good plans and ideas than why are they so terrified of talking to the public and letting the public know about the legal process?? Because they don’t want you to know what they’re doing because then you see they’re liars
The only part about this debate that matters to me is the decorum and the end. You see how they’re shaking hands and conversing in a civil manner? Remember the person who took civility out of the debate stage? It’s not Clinton, Biden, nor Harris, I’ll tell you that much. I’d be much happier with these two as the presidential candidates instead.
Vance’s argument about housing is ludicrous. Illegal immigration is not the problem for everything, nor is drilling to find oil, he presented no practical way to house people. The housing problem is due to Wall Street and other investors buying up housing and raising the prices. I live in an area where there are at least 50% immigrants, and they’re not the ones keeping people from being able to find homes at all. They can barely get a house themselves and have multiple families and extended family living in one house.
I wish these “moderators” would have just SHUT UP and allowed the debate to carry on….NO KIDDING there’s a lot to get to We know. We all realize they like to hear the sound of their own voice…Just shut up already…..ALSO opinions by moderators….again just shut up–> no one cares about the moderators “Opinions”
As a contractor, I cannot compete sharing illegals that will do my job for minimum wage…because their retirement plan is a Rancho in Mexico and not USA. They’re sending the money out. I’m out of business after losing 10 bids to unlicensed non residents! Trump I had the best four fiscal years of my life.
wow. this was so refreshing, on both sides. this display of bipartisan leadership was so necessary! the younger generation needs to see how Americans use to handle & respect politics. true democracy is our ability to have differences & seek middle ground anyway! both candidates were very good. vance actually surprised me. he is a good speaker, has the strong, young american leader look. walz comes off as very honest & trustworthy. i like them both.
Most important thing for me is illegal immigration and tired of how Kamala handled it, situation in NYC, Chicago, Seattle. Me and my wife supported democrats before as we are first generation legal immigrants. We support democrat vision except immigration. Going with Trump this time, heart says NO but brain says YES. Hope, our decision is correct, we feel sad though.
Honestly I don’t know if I’d vote for walz if he were running unless some of his policies changed a little for his run, but I do like him and unlike kamala I actually wouldn’t have any hard feelings if whoever I voted for lost to him. I’m glad this debate was an actual debate and not a display of who could slander who harder, this should’ve been the kind of back and forth respectful discussion our presidential debate had.
You really have to know something about politics to be able to understand whats going on here. The moderators are slightly bias in the questions asked and the direction they try to push it in. Makes complete sense ofcourse because its a democratic news outlet. And because there isnt real fact checking both candidates are lying a bit about their running mate. Waltz more than jd. Both do.
my country has medicare.Cost 600 dollars a year. If i go to the hospital or not . That is good . 1 night stay at the hospital is about 2000 dollars. Medicare cost me nothing for anything medical. When you work if they have insurance, you can take that and at the end of the year you get a return . All what Harris is running for my country already has . Our taxes in my province are alot 33 percent of your brut income a year . Buying a house you pay a welcome taxe before you even open the door
I think this was a very, very close debate. I was expecting Tim to absolutely blitz this, but Vance held his own really quite well and gave him a run for his money, far, far more competent than Donald Trump to be certain. Personally, I believe Tim did have a slight edge particularly when it came to describing policies, but that’s just my opinion. I can very easily see someone arguing for the opposite.
I really wish they would have asked Vance if he (and Trump) would support a federal MINIMUM access to abortion that could prevent those examples Walz brought up. We shouldnt be in this position, but we obviously cant trust conservative states to protect women in emergency situations. The best answer would be giving women the choice, but if republicans wont go there then at minimum there should be federal laws to protect the health and life of women when abortions are the best option to do that.
Jd Vance constantly side-eyeing the camera “please make this a meme!”. He’s a character and he was portraying micro aggressions while trying to seem respectful and sincere. Being nice and respectful is not sincerity. That’s not being genuine. That’s making sure that spectators cannot judge your performance in the same way they judged Trump.
Moderators were “fact checking” but viewers were not surprised as moderators are not leaders but mommas to their candidate Waltz. They’re lacking integrity & truly bad “journalists”. They protected waltz but his countenance proved he was not a good back up if president is not able to serve as president. The moderators looked like thei wanted to high 5 when they cut off Vance. But it actually helps DJT/VANCE thanks commandants I mean moderators for helping DJT/VANCE 2024.
With respect to the first question of the debate the answer is no Israel should not strike Iran preemptively. But Iran has preemptively struck Israel and Israel wants to strike back…No no no. We are Israel’s defender and we condemn the actions of October 07th but the Israelie have cross a red line In Gaza. and they have cross a red line in Lebanon.. We are permanent Security Council. Members and We should intervene to restore International Order and peace. Let’s. hold the Iranians accountable through the UN.
Completely agree with both their points and one thing that sticks out to me is we need to bring back manufacturing jobs to the USA and America needs to become independent in their own goods again. So many jobs are being outsourced right now and people are unable to buy anything if they don’t have a stable job -even with help. We don’t need more handouts instead we need more job security. Ghost jobs is a huge issue right now and huge cuts in companies trying to send as much work overseas as possible in the next few years. Why are we buying from American companies that plan to lay off 70% of their jobs to move them overseas? I have seen over 100 of my coworkers laid off the last year and continuing to send jobs to Middle East, Asia and Mexico to expand the company. Many of my colleagues have been laid off due to AI saw 30% of their coworkers laid off and saw job loss in the market. We have to go to overseas companies to work for American companies. How is that fair? American companies treat us worse than the overseas companies as well by cheating out on benefits -we need more unions. It’s only going to continue going downhill unless someone does something about it. Vance is correct on this point.
As a contractor, I cannot compete against illegals that will do my job for minimum wage…because their retirement plan is a Rancho in Mexico and not USA. They’re sending the money out. I’m out of business after losing 10 bids to unlicensed non residents! Trump I had the best four fiscal years of my life.
In regards to the gun violence and the difference between Finland and the USA I think it is important to note that Finland has Universal Male conscription. This instills discipline in most folks and also keeps the lessons of World War 2 fresh in the minds of the youth. A lesson I feel has been forgotten by the new generation in the west
Although i do not like Vance at all, due to the things he’s is been saying the pas few months (He just downright scares me). He did show here that he truly is an politician. And he showed how he himself is a million times more suited to run for president then Trump. Vance is doing politics, like you would expect from an politician. Trump on the other hand, Is not running for president. He is running from prison. In my humble opinion i still think Walz was more honest and trust worthy of the two.
@ 1:10:20 Vance clearly doesn’t know that truckers have to EAT those gas costs themselves for the most part, and that it therefore has nothing to do with the price of the ginished product. Talk to any trucker. They WISH they could take credit for raising matierials costs to cover their increased fuel costs.
