What do you mean by ritual?
A ritual is a set of actions or words performed regularly, often as part of a religious ceremony. It can also be done without thinking about it. The liminal dimensions of material elements in a ritual relate to fire as a medium of transition. As groups identified with specific parts of the landscape, it took on ritual and symbolic meanings. Transformation is a key concept for understanding ritual practices.
What is ritual in daily life?
A ritual is defined as a regular action or behavior with a specific purpose, often performed with intention, mindfulness, and meaning. This is in contrast to routine tasks, which may be completed automatically.

What is another word for ritual?
The text posits that the snake, potentially a mineral natron, may have been employed in ancient Egyptian rituals due to its rock structures in its open mouth, indicating a robust correlation between ritual, custom, formality, habit, liturgy, observance, practice, procedure, rite, routine, and stereotype.

What is the meaning of morning rituals?
A morning ritual is a meaningful activity that starts the day off right, focusing on its intended purpose. It provides a sense of fulfillment, satisfaction, or enjoyment for those who engage in it. On the other hand, routines are a series of actions completed to achieve a goal, focusing on the completion of the activity. An example of a morning ritual is spending 10 minutes meditating before pouring coffee.
Why is it called a ritual?
The English word “ritual” originates from the Latin word “ritus”, meaning “that which pertains to rite”. In Roman and Vedic religion, ritus was the proven way of doing something or “correct performance, custom”. The concept of ritus may be related to the Sanskrit word “ṛtá”, meaning “the lawful and regular order of the normal, and therefore proper, natural and true structure of cosmic, worldly, human and ritual events”. The word “ritual” was first recorded in English in 1570 and later used in the 1600s to mean “the prescribed order of performing religious services” or a book of these prescriptions.
Rituals typically involve special gestures, words, recitation of fixed texts, music, songs, dances, processions, manipulation of objects, use of special dresses, consumption of special food, drink, or drugs. Catherine Bell argues that rituals can be characterized by formalism, traditionalism, invariance, rule-governance, sacral symbolism, and performance.
What is the simple morning ritual?
A morning ritual can be a relaxing and luxurious way to start the day. Drinking a cup of coffee or tea can help jumpstart the day and is often accompanied by water. Adding lemon or other fruits to the water can make it refreshing and rejuvenating.
If yoga and meditation are your passion, it is an excellent way to start the day. These practices can help reduce stress and prepare you for the rest of the day. You can either practice yourself or use a guided class, such as Glo, which offers free classes on YouTube or virtual options from local teachers.
Journaling and reading are also great ways to start the day from within. Many people wake up with their phones on, sending their brain into autopilot. Using these simple practices allows your mind to begin functioning for the day and check in with yourself. A helpful guide for journaling can be found in Glennon’s Get Untamed Journal.
In summary, a morning ritual can be a powerful way to start the day and ensure a healthy and balanced mindset.
What is a ritual example?

These actions may be observed in a variety of contexts, including religious ceremonies, rites of passage, and purification rituals. Additionally, rituals are performed during significant life events such as births, marriages, and funerals.
What are the three types of rituals?
There are three principal types of rituals: mythological reenactment, rites of passage, and family rituals. Each of these has a significant impact on society.

Reading the news in the morning can be a desctructive ritual. It’s basically a negative affirmation which works on a subconscious level. You will start with a bad image of the world full of terror and death. Depends on what you read of course but most media is filled with negativity. If it worked for you it’s ok but I would not recommend it to everyone. My morning looks like this: 5 Minutes motivational speaker audio while brushing teeth. Cold Shower Breakfast: Protein porridge 20 Push Ups, 15 Squats, 5 Jumps as high as I can. 10 Minutes meditation 5 Minutes affirmations 30-60 minutes of reading a book about personal development.
My one: 630 wake up, 20 minute walk in the perfectly straight posture(without a phone), making breakfast (listening to eductional vids on yt like yours), cold showers, afirmating while putting the clothes and reading books on the train. but I set my day the day before, writing an agenda of the next day, making food for the next day, offline, book, meditation, (I can’t start journaling but I will start this habbit), things that I’m grateful, sleep 6-7hrs
Mr.Bet-David, I’m not one to believe in idols and I don’t admire just anyone because I know I am wise;but you have stolen that and corrected my thinking. I’m a Gemini and I’m not always in the mood to here anything, but I’m always ready for your particular wisdom. For the first time in my life I tell people I finally found a Great that I would be honored to shake his hand. Your wisdom is profoundly, steadily changing me from inside out. Hope this reaches you Sir.

I have started perusal the articles you posted and really changed how I was as a person and how I thought about money. You are really an inspiration to me not only economically but as a person! I’m a United States Marine and always thought about how little I got paid. I changed how I thought on what to do with my little income and I’m about to buy my first rental property and working on how to increase my assests. You are amazing keep making articles and keep motivating me, I really believe perusal and understanding you will make m rich soon enough!
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and i work for myself, i absolutely adore the fact that you mentioned getting a massage is highly recommended. I listen to your articles a lot, and Gary V as well, i think being an entrepreneur as a LMT is a little difficult, some of the advice i hear on these articles can be hard to apply to my business since my ‘product’ is my practice. Id love to hear a article that is aimed for people who are like me
i’m still a Sophmore in highschool ( which means Nothing). I dont want to spend the rest of my life living someone else’s dream, working for some else, and living my life based on someone else. I’m still trying to find what interest me: I like to understand and learn more about the world around me, My Purpose, Our Purpose( meaning If we rule out all this Life BS… what is left is what i’m after) I dont currently know what to do to get there, all i am doing right now is trying my best (i think). Any advice? ( any constructive advice appreciated no matter how short ) I mean what do i do first ? WHere do i begin? I feel so lost that it frustrates me sometimes. I want to make myself and the people that are and will help me proud. I know, life isn’t all about money, but what ever life it ( what you make it to be) i want it. What can i do ? where can i start? ANY HELP PLEASE>
My ritual is: I wake up (usually, no later than 11 am, I’m more of a night owl) Clean my bedroom because I work from it, straighten up my desk, drink a lot of water, brew some coffee, Do my yoga stretches, meditate, use my roller to get the kinks out of my body and a tennis ball against a wall to get the kinks of out of my back, if there are some. Make breakfast, and read a few chapters of whatever book I’m reading while I’m eating. Shower then get on my grind. Around lunch is when I get my exercise in.
🌷 It is now Year 2020 and this article is still fresh and relevant for businessmen and women. I’ve just learned of Valuetainment in 2019, and what got me is how REALISTIC and forthright you are about what it really takes to compete. You don’t allow anyone to feel like they’re a victim or that some force is going to magically rescue them. You tell it like it is and show people how to fix what’s broken in their outlook and behavior so they can be empowered to win. Thank you 🙏🏽
Dear Pat, how can I be successful if I have a chronic illness? I have a small bz and so much potential to be successful and I work from home but I suffer from fibromyalgia and I have pretty bad flares where I can’t work for days or weeks. Can I still make it to a successful life knowing I don’t have an strict schedule? Thank you dear.
omg. you’re articles are so awesome. I wished I would have listened to you as a kid. I have a question regarding my business. I’m in the twelfth grade and I don’t really have a business. I go to different craft events and that’s where I make most of my money. seldom it is that people contact me through my business account to get some Henna tattoos done. I’m supposed to be saving for post secondary and I’ve never had a part time job. is it still worth spending money on massages? also, should I spend on a real business page on Facebook where they give me valuable statistics?
This article turned a switched on for me and it was the part of building momentum in your day. I have struggled with waking up early and I know that’s the only way to attain my goals as I am a dad of 2, have a full time job, run my own Single Operator Entertainment Company, and a husband. Thank you sir!
Patrick, another great article! I loved how you said this life is about creating. How this life is not just for us but the next generation and what will our impact be over the next 80-100 years? I also really liked how you went into detail about your morning ritual with prayer, meditation, affirmations, thinking, gratitude and visualization. And, lest I forget! What a great comparison of how we need to take care off our bodies, like they were a car! I really enjoyed this article and got so much out of it. Just terrific. I’m looking into what successful people do in the mornings. Your routine aligns with what I’m creating mine to be. Thank you for making this!
Meditation into priming in the shower (burning hot to frigid cold to boost the immune system). I love doing breathing exercises and especially thinking of 10 grateful things that are unattached to money. After that, blog + podcast + instagram and hit the gym before I teach. I’m at my best in the morning, and if I win the morning, I win the day.
Hey Pat I to truly believe in what you said about doing it for the next generation. What you said about how you raise your kids and how you treat your wife that was very inspiring man. As an entrepreneur i think its important to provide the world a good example. And yes sir you’re very correct energy matters and so does momentum, from one project to the next.
Most of my best coding work & breakthroughs seem to happen in late afternoon or evenings. I like to rise early, enjoy the morning, do light chores then start working around 9am. The creativity just won’t flow properly until after lunch, so I know to build up towards it. If you rely a lot on creativity & new ideas, maybe they sometimes hit when you least expect. Set up to capture them properly at ANY time. The idea you have as you’re nodding off, maybe be your biggest winner! Some of my best days were started by a scribbled idea, written at 1am in bed, the night before.
Patrick, I just want to give you props on the website! I discovered Valuetainment a few weeks ago and I think it’s great. After perusal your last dozen articles, I decided to subscribe. Only 1% of business related websites are putting out information that’s relevant, honest, and duplicable like you guys. It’s clear to me the website is aptly named. I’m definitely going to recommend the website to my friends and colleagues! Hoping to get you a few more subscriptions.
My new improved morning ritual. I get up between 430-445, read until 5 or 515. Go to the bathroom and drink water. This helps to refresh me and get ready for the day. At 5am I text a good morning text to let them know it’s time to get up. I also prepare my lunch and breakfast and I’m off to work with a book to read on the morning commute.
Great insights about the importance of routines. I’m encouraged that you take the time to talk about affirmation and maintaining the mind-body-spirit. You’ve talked a lot about harnessing your life’s energy, the ability to not burn out, and that viewing food-as-fuel helps keep the engine that is your mind and body functioning at peak capacity. Now, I’m just a random guy on the internet, but I want to share with you what I do and how it has changed my life. I switched to a ketogenic diet a few months ago and have embraced 16/8 intermittent fasting. The boost to mental clarity, body function, and laser focus is amazing. I don’t eat “breakfast” until 11:00 AM and I’m to get more done in a morning than most people accomplish in a week. It has been an amazing change that impacts the mind-body-spirit in amazing ways. Just thought I’d share since you’ve talked about health and weight loss. I’ve gone from 233 to 183 in the last year between paleo, now ketosis, and exercise.
This is so awesome! I too believe that our generation is (I am ) responsible for the next generation. That we should leave a legacy for them, and make an impact in their lives, or create the infrastructure (or values and ideas) that will help them live better and more fulfilling lives and lives of purpose! Stay blessed mate, you and your team. All the best!
I usually wake up between 5-630, read my bible verses and give thanks, make sure my daughter is awake for school at 6:30. While she’s getting dressed I check emails, then listen to Les Brown while getting my fitness clothes out and get dressed. I mix my vitamin c and apple cider vinegar together drink it grab a water, drop my daughter off at school bus stop. I go power walking around the lake while listening to affirmations and gospel music give thanks and praise again before going back to my car and go run errands. My day consist of listening to gospel music and motivational messages AT LEAST 3x a day. I really try to keep my energy balanced especially while creating content for my startup youth development program🧘🏽♀️
I find it interesting that you mention cryotherapy. I’m a self taught animator and I’m currently in the process of preparing to market one of my commercials to the cryotherapy industry. I’ve been beating myself down because I did 9 years in prison and I just have trouble shaking that sometimes. Yesterday and a new friend of mine shared your “The Life of an Entrepreneur in 90 Seconds” article with me and it reignited something in me. Thanks man. I’m more than just some damn ex-con and its time I confronted that fact and stopped hiding it.
Thinking we are not the body is a spiritual perspective. We should be aware of that. There are so many spiritual ideas being spread through the business world under the disguise of self-development. The Christian perspective through what it believes is revealed truth is that we are body + soul, equally. “Man, though made of body and soul, is a unity.” It makes a difference of how we live our lives and live with our body. What you do with your body matters. So even more reason to get that bi-weekly massage!
Wow dude! I’ve been following your website for quite some days now and I think this is my 4th or 5th article. But the knowledge you shared in this article was some real heavy and useful knowledge for those that got the essence this is some very powerful stuff. Thank you so much for sharing! I will now go on to apply this knowledge being a successful entrepreneur myself
My morning ritual involves listening to at least one of your articles on my drive to drop off the kids at school. My 6 year old twins are listening too! Now they’re asking me tons of questions about how to become millionaires, what’s insurance, who is Warren Buffet, and what does buying stocks mean… 🙈
6:30 wake up with the best song!! Dance, sing, shower, coffee, fruits, 7:00 drive for an hour to the office, 8:00 be first to open the office, work till 18:00, dinner, talk to friends, family, drive home, prepare for next day, course, lecture, 9:00 shower, 10:00 pm check news, YouTube, updates, 11:00 sleep. Saturday no phones, no computers, no tv, no radio, no screen just fun, hugs, cuddles, love!!!
Great article, though I’m not sure about separating spirit from body – and I’m not talking about some metaphysical concept like “Your body is the representation of your inner sell/will/power” – it’s as simple as the better one’s health is, the better one feels, thinks, able to concentrate, focus and hold awareness. Basically “I” in a bad body and “I” in a healthy and strong body – different people.
After perusal some minutes of this article, I find the title is, if you read it closely, a little misguiding to the extent that it suggests that there are certain morning rituals that make “the” entrepreneur. I like the article because you suggest people to handle it their way, instead of proposing a routine.
I get up between 9 and 11. I grab the phone and check emails, news see a few YB articles. I want to go to the kitchen but someone difficult will be there so I delay getting there by a few hours. Have breakfast between 10.00AM and 12.00 AM. I then go back to bed and think about exercise, going out, showering etc. Am usually stressed and read or take a nap.
Great article with great delivery and thanks for sharing Pat. I am your newly found follower from Johannesburg South Africa. I love your energy its been two days with lots learning and i am counting to day 30 of daily dose of motivation from you. I know my life will change for better. I repeat i know it will
Dude, thanks for posting this. I literally was about to ask on my LinkedIn what are morning rituals you do before you start your day and before I even posted that, this article appears on my YouTube. #Insane | Thanks for everything you do, you’re helping fuel my drive to sell and expand my client-base. I hope to one day meet you and just hang out and learn more. Stay blessed!
True words right here, you’re so serious about this man. Very wise also! Inspiring a lot of people with these words, no doubt your website will grow beyond thought and imagination if you keep doing what you do to lift people up and let them know 🙂 Peace and successful wishes from The Netherlands brother.
One tip spend more time with your kids when they are in their teen years where they need that mentor parent more than ever. There is soo much more you can share with them when they can understand and hopefully absorb. My success is based on my kids being good people citizens and caring for the world they live in. That’s real success
Great vid, Pat! Love the health tips! You probably know this but here it is: you never listen to a regular MD for general health, you use a naturopathic/holistic doctor. You only use the regular MDs for blood tests, etc, so insurance pays 🙂 Medical doctors are clueless about general wellbeing, they’ll give you the pills for anything and after you’ve been on 4 meds for 10 years your liver and kidneys are clogged, and disease sets in. MDs are only good for emergency procedures/surgeries, and they overdo this too, they almost carted me in for neck surgery for a herniated disk in C4 vertebra, which improved itself with only 1 day of therapy!!!
Our mornings (and all day) are intense. In our house I am a parent, wife, homemaker, homeschooler, fulltime caregiver of elderly inlaw(cancer/broken hip), 1/2 acre gardener, and I’m trying to start my own business with handmade custom items. I wish I could have a schedule! I only take 1-2 hours a week for me and it’s usually at the library.
hey man I feel good perusal your articles. I use to wake up early every morning for high school and my brother would say “what the fuck? why do you even wake up at that time what do you even do?” well it was obvious you have so much time in the morning it’s not even funny. you don’t rush to school and you can even use the restoom without even being disturbed or having to use the school bathroom which in fact are horrible bathrooms. I use to wake up at 4:45 aswell but I can’t do it anymore because I have sleeping issues now but I’m gonna try to go back to my old schedule because it was an awesome powerful schedule to have. it also helped me lose wsight so because I’m perusal your articles now I’m gonna force myself to go back to my old ways. last two months of high school and I will be graduating. I will not become an entrepreneur but still your articles motivate me thank you so much !
I generally wake up around 9 or 10 a.m. Drink a coffee and energy drink and eat some left over pizza or can of spaghetti O’s. Then, by noon I’m mostly awake. Usually by 1p.m. I’m ready to get moving. Not really wanting to work, but I force myself to at least pretend to want to and I sometimes do. So, I really, really need to change my entire life habits.
This is the first time I watch this episode. I literally do your Monday to Saturday stuff, what I mean by that is waking up early and winning the day before my competitors even can swipe their asses in the morning :p. This cryotherapy is new to me. I strongly would recommend you to do floating aswell or try to switch in between. All the premier league players use floating to destress the body and be rest out in one hour. Go check it out if you are curious, and no, I’m not working on commission or am the creator of floating. Unfortunately not :).
Got a question ~ I do morning exercise because I’m good for nothing else. My favorite job was construction because I did t have to think, just work and I’m built for that. I do my best, most creative thinking at night, despite what the ‘experts’ say concerning brain fatigue throughout the day. Feedback please.

GREAT episode, Pat!! “you look like you got a 1 pack” haha I NEED THAT TOO! I need people to tell me the truth, I WANNA GROW! IT IS SO HARD to find that though!!!! I LOVE your sports analogies! like “you gotta last longer, like in boxing, they’ll get knocked out but if you keep your energy up you’ll knock out your competition”
Excellent Excellent article Patrick! I just discovered you and I know the alignment came at the Perfect Time and Speed. I really enjoyed perusal your article and the content you shared in it. Thank you for such great article.. I actually wanted to ask for an advice.. Is it advisable to start an industry now, by that I mean I’m just 22 now.. recently graduated. I have interest in starting a chemical plant and become entrepreneur in that sector. but I lack in experience. still in dialama, should i wait for 3-5 yrs work in other companies or start working as entrepreneur now.. I feel I should start but others say to get experience. I wanna ask can’t I get experience while setting up the industry? Your advice would be very valuable.
