Do planets change houses in astrology?

The birth chart consists of natal planets that remain stationary, but the planets in the sky move through different Houses. Each House has its own orbit, but due to the sun’s 365-day cycle, we experience a complete solar cycle through all Houses yearly. Each House has a significant influence on our lives, with the First House representing our physical appearance, temperament, and body. Planets in this House, such as Mercury and Moon, can bring new projects, ideas, or perspectives.

The Second House, corresponding to Taurus energy, relates to personal finances, material possessions, and the concept of value. It rules money but also deals with emotions that live inside us and often affect us more than money. Transiting planets in this House indicate changes in resources or self-esteem, and can influence our emotions and relationships throughout our lives.

Maraka in Hindu astrology refers to the planets that cause death at the end of a particular life-span. If the assessed life-span is not over, they cause accident, ill-health, poverty, and misery during their dasha or antra-dasha. Each lagna has a fixed maraka or marakas, with the Sun and Moon, and the lord of the 9th house generally not becoming marakas. Primary determinants of death are malefic planets occupying the 2nd and 7th houses and associated with their lords.

Secondary determinants include benefic planets in association with lords of the 2nd and 7th house, benefic planets in association with lords of the 3rd and 8th house, or the lord of the 3rd or 8th associating with the lord of the 2nd or 7th house. Tertiary determinants include Saturn associating with any of the aforementioned marakas, the lord of the 6th or 8th associated with a maraka, and the least powerful planet in the horoscope.

The results of good and bad karmas collected by man between intervals of birth become known in this birth, and the aggregate of man’s karma shape are comprehended with the aid of Jyotisha. The Amsayu method is used to determine the possible span of life if the Lagna is vested with strength, the Pindayu method for the Sun, and the Nisargayu method for the Moon.

Longevity is determined on the strength of the horoscope and the dasa of planets. The planets most afflicted by maraka-propensities are the cause of death. Diseases alone are not the cause of all deaths, but diseases resulting from bad karmas cannot be cured. The grant of term of life depends on Bhagya (luck), and a person not blessed with good health does not enjoy to any extent their granted term of life.

What do the planets mean in your birth chart?

Astrology associates each planet with a specific energetic force, such as the sun representing identity, the moon representing emotions, Mercury representing communication, Venus representing values, Mars representing motivation, Jupiter representing expansion, Saturn representing responsibilities, Uranus representing innovation, Neptune representing spirituality, and Pluto representing transformation. When multiple planets meet via aspects, different energies fuse, creating a powerful aspect known as a conjunction.

Aspects are divided into two main groups: “soft” aspects (positive relationships between planets) and “hard” aspects (challenging planetary connections). Most modern astrologers focus on the five “major aspects”. When the planets meet at the same point in the sky, such as during a new moon, the planetary energies blend together, forming a powerful aspect known as a conjunction. This aspect is neither soft nor hard, as the impact depends on which planets are involved. For example, a Mercury-Venus conjunction can help communicate values, while a Mars-Pluto conjunction may lead to destructive behavior.

  • new sub: thank you for breaking this down. i have recently gotten into astrology and am realising just how ‘in depth’ you can go. i am making notes of planets, houses, aspects etc to be able to read my birth chart at a higher level and how all the houses and planets correlate with one another and the influences they have, determining our personalities and so on. thank you once again. p.s. you are so cute/pretty

  • Here are some timestamps for anyone who wants them: 0:00 – intro 0:49 – difference between inner and outer planets 2:45 – * The Inner planets 2:53 – The Sun 4:15 – The Moon 5:14 – Mercury 6:06 – Venus 6:59 – Mars 8:20 – * The Outer Planets 8:29 – Jupiter 9:16 – Saturn 10:12 – Uranus (Does anyone else think that the sign for uranus looks like an anus or is that just me lmao) 11:25 – Neptune 13:05 – Pluto Have a great day 🙂

  • 0:50 basics, inner and outer planets inner planets : sun, moon, mercury, venus and mars. these planets orbit around the sun fastest so they’ll go through every zodiac constellation very very fast. aka the personal planets because they affect us each individually like our moods, our daily habits and the things we do on a day to day basis. when any inner planet goes retrograde, it has a direct effect on us for a short period of time because it passes very quickly. outer planets : jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune and pluto. these planets each take about one ( 1 ) to fifteen ( 15 ) years to move through zodiac constellations and which means their orbits can take hundreds of years sometimes. their effect is felt on a much larger scale because there are generations of people born under the influence of these planets based on where they’re placed

  • Hey Marisa, I enjoyed linstening your explonation about the base of Astrology tho a few things I do not understand clearly and would be nice to get an asnwer for it. So I just don’t get the deeper meaning of “how does planets influence our daily life, I mean what kind of force or interaction is actually happening that the planet what is so far away actually interacting with me on Earth and fills my day/week/month/year with different kind of emotions and actions . Is it just simply because the mass, then we would talk about gravitational force which is impossible to have any interaction with us or of course some but very little since gravitional force is too weak and we are just so far away, basically the nearest tall building’s gravitational force is bigger on me than any planets. You talked about Pluto’s influence which is a dwarf planet so as 15 others, then would it be possible that those planets also interacting with us differently ? So as of course much further but much larger black hole Sagittarius A. So I don’t know if there is any explonation about the “force” the “energy” words what people use often but never really talk about what kind of force, energy interaction is really happening there in astrology . So if You or somebody could bring me closer to truth or undersanding I would appreciate, have a lovely day everybody! <3

  • Mars is awesome. It’s usually more about your personal war, the greatest war, your struggle to achieve your personal vision. You are not here to learn lessons, Your here to discharge your energy, and you are in a struggle to impose this vision on the world. Achieving it is the greatest treasure you could ever imagine. The passion and will to fight in a person are both the same thing. Mars is here to help you with this.

  • I’m glad I found your website, I paused when you said and I’m a aries with moon aries venus aries mercury aries and Mars Taurus, and Mars definitely intrigues me cause I have a lot of creative energy and I’m very much a aries in all aspects except for when it comes to big ambitious things or goals I need to accomplish I tend to put them off and procrastinate, is this the effect of my Mars in Taurus?

  • I have a question all the nine planets &sun, moon elements inside our body right. Human is all the body systems chemical substances. Whatever we can eat that’s some minerals give planet root inside planet Earth plant we eat. Earth have whatever elements all our body am i right. If we try all is balanced. And merged with cosmic belt energy. Please answer. I will waiting.

  • My birth chart doesn’t match who I am. Then I noticed that every time the planets move, my energy changes with it. Neptune rules the subconscious mind. And I can see how it does it. Neptune carries the minerals like calcium. Which make their way into the nerves and bones. I can see everything that’s happening in the spiritual realm. Then I noticed that I was born on the mayan wayeb. July 23. Which means earth God, spector. I guess I’m a God.
