Foxcroft School, founded in 1914 by Charlotte Haxall Noland, is a top college-prep high school for girls in grades 9-12. The school combines tradition with forward-thinking programs, outstanding facilities, authentic community, leadership opportunities, and an independent boarding and day school. Every member of the Foxcroft community is either a Fox or a Hound, and since 1914, Fox/Hound has been a favorite tradition between the two spirited groups.
The school’s motto is “Help every girl explore her”. Foxcroft Academy is an independent boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12 and the postgraduate level, providing numerous pathways to career and post-graduate education. The school’s athletic offerings span fall, winter, and spring seasons, as well as year-round options.
The Foxes are the team that competes in student-run competitions throughout the year, while the Hounds compete in student-run competitions. The school’s motto, “We are the Foxes. We are the Hounds. And together, we run”, emphasizes the school’s commitment to community, connection, and discovery.
Foxcroft Academy is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and is located in Middleburg, VA. The school’s athletic offerings include athletic events during the fall, winter, and spring seasons, as well as year-round options. The school’s motto, “Meet Oakie, Our Mascot”, is named after Louis Oakes of the class of 1892, who generously deeded his horse when the school needed to expand its campus.
