What Kind Of Conspiracy Might Exist?

Conspiracy theories are the belief that a secret but influential group, such as a political party, is controlling events behind the scenes. Examples of conspiracy theories include the moon landing being fake and the suggestion that the earth is actually flat. These theories have been proven to be true and can provide valuable insights into political upheavals, anxieties about sex, technology, and women.

Conspiration theories can be influenced by various factors, such as political upheavals, anxieties about sex, technology, and women. The author argues that many online conspiracy theorists are not true believers but are acting out fantasies. Psychologists explain why people believe in conspiracy theories, such as the QAnon movement, which claims President Trump is fighting a secret war against a pedophilic deep state.

Despite being laughed about and pushed to the side, research has shown that most Americans believe in conspiracy theories. Some notable conspiracy theories include the dead internet conspiracy theory, 9/11 Conspiracies, Princess Diana’s murder, subliminal advertising, and the moon landing hoax. Conspiracy theories have legitimized violence, impaired public health, and undermined democratic governance. Containing their harms begins with understanding the different attitudes towards conspiracy theories.

Research by the YouGov-Cambridge Globalism Project, covering over 250,000 people across 24 countries, reveals the different attitudes towards conspiracy theories. Understanding the conspiracy theories that flourished during the COVID-19 pandemic, their dangers, and how to identify, debunk, and counter them is crucial for maintaining public safety and democracy.

  • 14:20 Constantine was NOT involved in the formation of the New Testament Canon, nor did the council of Nicea discuss it. The only source for the latter was a footnote in his Latin translation of the Vulgate and in regards to the inclusion of the book Baruch in the old testament. However, St. Jerome, the man who made that footnote, lived over 100 years later in the mid to late 400s, and very likely confused between the comparably more recent council of Constantinople, which briefly discussed Baruch specifically. The New Testament Canon formed organically, and reached general consensus in its modern form as we can tell in the mid 3rd Century. Save for Arianism, most unorthodox branches of Christianity were well into the decline by Constantine’s time, and nearly non-existent by Justinian. The ones implied are ones generally regarded as gnostics, such as Valentinians, or Sethians. These groups were at their most prominent in the late second to early 3rd century, the late 100s- and early 200s. The council of Nicea took place in 325. Justin Martyr speaks of them as contemporaries, and heretics, while Christianity was still illegal in the Roman Empire. So it’s not like there’s this censored trove of Christian corruption hiding away in the Vatican. 2000 years of collecting documents is truly insane, they literally haven’t tallied then up completely yet. Something that we should understand since this library has gone back to antiquity is that thousands of years ago, Libraries served less like they do now is information sources, and moreso an archive, just to make sure that they were preserved.

  • Some of these have already been confirmed in the article (like companies building stuff to break so you buy more product) while other’s are just jokes. I’ve watched one of these compilations where two theories fit together perfectly. Individually they were scary but when you heard them together they sounded like a huge problem; which, on the slim chance it’s true, would probably paint a target on the back of whoever says it…

  • 9:20 apparently the wave of single-word title Disney movies was some marketing bullshit, where they thought a movie with a Princess character had more ~universal~ appeal (ie, the assumption boys wouldnt watch a movie with a female protagonist) if they didn’t actually mention a Princess in the title or as a main character… even if it’d be technically obvious in the, yknow, commericals and trailers. The only-middling success of the Princess and the Frog supposedly spured the goofy concept.

  • Nothing needs to be added to chapstick or lotion to make your skin dry out. Your skin simply detects the extra moisture added and turns off it own oil production because it senses it doesn’t need to make it anymore. That’s why your lips and skin get dryer after using those products. I stopped using chapstick a long time ago, too and haven’t had any major issues with chapped lips.

  • I work in health insurance. Small Group (i.e., small businesses) often have much lower rates than Large Group (i.e., big businesses), because big businesses can be underwritten. Small groups will sometimes hold off on hiring new employees to avoid growing too big to be a small group, which obviously isn’t the best economic policy longterm, but the big businesses absolutely aren’t benefiting from the privatized health system. If it truly was up to the big businesses, we’d have universal healthcare so that the taxpayers would be the ones on the hook for what is one of their biggest expenses. This actually happened in the past; the large mega-corps managed to convince a gullible public to pay for college, so that the big businesses would no longer be responsible for paying for the training of employees themselves. This hoodwinking of the public is the biggest reason why middle class wealth massively shrunk in the past 50 years.

  • 1:20 you can apply straight up (normal) Vaseline like the normal petroleum jelly and it works better than chapstick a lot of the time, you can apply a lot before bed and it can help a lot, to maximize it you can add (unscented) body/face lotion on your lips before the Vaseline and it works better than chapstick i swear

  • Definitely on board with that chapstick one my mother has basically used it religiously everyday for years and constantly has issues with dry lips meanwhile I barely have touched it since I was like five and my lips have always been pretty healthy even in winter That seems to be the case with a lot of people I know the people who use it basically constantly need it but the people who have avoided it never even have lips that would necessitate its use

  • Coke made new Coke so that people would demand to have the original back, and when they did it had corn syrup instead of sugar because it was cheaper. It was close enough people didn’t notice the difference after not having real Coke for months. Seriously, who changes a decades old product just because.

  • Bikini atoll. When it was used for nuclear testing, the people were not moved especially far, and after, were used to test the results of nuclear explosions on the human body. That is fact. The conspericy, is it was accidental. The us gov said oops, we didn’t know they would be exposed. But their own documents on the exact subject of the exact testing on bikini natives was dated before the nuclear testing on the island

  • Chapstick and lotions don’t dry out your skin on purpose. They aren’t meant to be used every damn day. It’s suppose to be like a medicine being used to treat a temporary issue. Your body doesn’t produce what the chapstick/lotions provides. If you do it every day Your body will start to adapt to rely on it.

  • 11:15 Huawei outright nerfed the camera on my P20 after the P30 came out. The difference in quality between the first shots I took with it and what came out after the software update is jarring. Not only that, but they blatantly removed features too, I lost the ability to use the 35mm lens at all, had to resort to third party apps to reunlock it.

  • “Many years ago the beef industry found itself in a financial quandry. Ground chuck, once so expensive it had been jokingly referred to as ‘Charles,’ had plummeted in price. Something had to be done. So cattle ranchers began setting aside a certain percentage of each year’s new calves and naming them ‘Loin.’ When the adult cows are taken to market, the ‘Loins’ are separated from the other cows and taken to a hidden chamber deep within the slaughterhouse. Here, a deposed king touches his scepter to their heads and says ‘I name thee Sir Loin, knight of the kingdom.’ The ennobled cows are then killed and processed as usual, and the meat is sold as ‘Sir Loin’ for huge profits.”

  • What is a FACT is that there are major tunnel systems in every major city in the US. There could of been one underneath the pizza place but if there was, it would never be main stream because too many questions would be asked. Most cities have these tunnels closed off for the same reason. The prohibition was blamed for these tunnels but they were here much before that time. History is what we’ve been told

  • I could actually believe the space shuttle one, honestly i don’t really think most people would want to hear someone’s death rattles or it’s not really that interesting anyway, its just a bunch of people talking and then explosion and the silence or empty air. Idk about you but neither of those sound like something I’d wanna hear and i consider myself an average person.

  • 11:12 that’s not true, because it’s taking out of context. This was about phones they slow down automatically because they had a faulty battery, and Apple tries everything to make the use of the product as simple as possible. They had to add a button a month later, so people can disable that feature and just live with a full speed, iPhone battery will be dead in two hours because they refuse to take care of their hardware. But regarding purposefully slowing down phones, there were multiple studies and one from a source that even promoted jailbreaking, and is therefore at least partially anti-Apple. They tested from the first to the 13th iPhone. And discovered that old phones actually even got faster with newer updates.

  • I don’t have a theory, but I believe more people today are more willing to trust “the science” or whatever officials and educated people say instead of entertaining a theory or idea that comes to mind and do their own research. I think it’s double-edged because it’s good people are more skeptical, but that skepticism is held towards more avant-garde thoughts and ideas, and thus you’re labeled a “conspiracy theorist”, as if you’re crazy or unintelligent and have nothing worth listening to.

  • You know it makes me sad about MLK he would have made the most influential president if he chose to do so and I truly believe from the words he spoke it wouldn’t be based on division it would be best on unity so the FBI assassinating him and maybe they were just thinking about the future and for some reason no matter how hard we try we always get to pick from a pool of candidates that always seemless like therefore the people but the people they want us to think we have control over America’s destiny

  • Months before 9/11/01 an episode of The Lone Gunmen, a spinoff of The X-Files, had an episode where the government attempted to crash planes into the World Trade Center towers, and then blamed terrorist cells from the middle east to spark an endless war, which was all designed to raise weapon manufactoring, which in turn went into the pockets of the men behind it.

  • I believe the neighboring City to mine intentionally set fire to a number of properties. In order to past legislature, allowing them to cease long abandoned residential and commercial property. All of those that were caught for these fires were deemed either mentally unfit or children, therefore not responsible. Everything was pretty well spaced-out, but if you were paying the slightest bit of attention, it kind of made you say hmmmm🤔

  • The state of things here in the US is deliberate. The cost of living, higher education, rent, and insurance have gone up even with government measures to make life easy. New cars and homes progressively get more expensive, plus apartments are popping up like weeds. It’s all about control and leaving the working class in the wind. People try to defend it and say it’s just inflation or people don’t want to work and go about their day. Our money has effectively lost 90% of its value in a hundred years. Even far away counties have it to where you have maternal leave or are encouraged to go travel/have vacation because money has value. Then you have a social divide pushed by activist groups being puppets for those with big wallets to achieve ulterior motives. Can’t wait for the next revolution if they don’t make changes.

  • I’ve always thought Tupac was actually an actor in “the 40 year old virgin”…. Everyone thinks I’m nuts. But if you watch it one of the employees of the circuit city knockoff “ray” reminds me of Tupac a LOT. He looks a bit like him, but sounds EXACTLY Like him. And then that was the only movie or bigger movies he was in? Now that’s a way out there and pretty much not even a good theory. But that’s mine…

  • When independent companies began digging into battery usage for products and software, a substantial amount of cpu and power was being used compared to older infrastructures. The deeper they got the kore they realized the phones were operating sib routines like microphone being used, internet traffic was seediest, it sent wen other internet usage was going on to hide its data use. Google att, metro pcs, few others had a ton of reallllly mysterious shit going on that they xant or wont answer for. It doesnt even necessarily mean they are responsible, Chinese govts been caught rigging elevtronics from refrigerators to wireless lamps even fon vacuum cleaners meant to crack your wifi and allow rhem access. Its fkd up and all documented.

  • I agree with the Gangsta Rap thing. I believe that Gangsta Rap was invented (for lack of a better word) to make an excuse to arrest more black people and drug addicts. Most Gangsta rappers didn’t have prior arrest accept for a few like Eazy-E for example. Dr. Dre and Ice Cube didn’t have criminal records. Every so often some Gangsta rappers get arrested but nothing really comes of (I think this is to keep up appearances). There are who have killed people but few go to prison. If the rappers aren’t convicted, they most likely informants for the police. I think people like Rick Ross is a good example because he worked at prison before becoming a rapperand TI making the claim that people wouldn’t listen to his music if he didn’t talk about violence and selling drugs. And more recent rappers we see are completely lying about their criminality( Drake for example). This is disjointed but I believe it to be true.

  • The whole thing with the ISP setting up publicly available hotspots did not cost nearly as much as you’d think They essentially just started distributing modems that were really two modems in one . One that was a modem for the subscriber and one that essentially was Wi-Fi only that broadcasted a hotspot that anyone could log into It’s why you find these hot spots everywhere even in suburban neighborhoods

  • I don’t “believe it” persay because there is no actual evidence. but I would not be surprised If we found out that Covid 19 Was facilitated to some extent purposefully by china. They have way too many skeletons in their closet when it comes to doing similar things for me to discount it as a possibility.China also at one point tried to deny it came from china at all which trying to deny something like that when everyone already knows the truth is just super weird and suspicious.
