What Makes Mudbloods Magical?

Muggle-borns inherit magic from a distant ancestor, descended from Squibs who had married Muggles and whose families had lost knowledge of their wizarding legacy. Magic resurfaced unexpectedly many generations later, and due to heritable traits of magic, Muggle-born siblings are often considered witches or wizards of non-magical parentage. Some Pure-Blood wizards view Muggle-born witches and wizards as “rogue” abilities.

Mudblood is a foul term for a witch or wizard who is Muggle-born (literally “dirty blood”) and is not used in polite company. Draco Malfoy used the term “mudblood” to describe Hermione Granger, who is born of Muggle parents. Ron Weasley and Harry Potter see this as clear evidence that Draco is ruled by Filch and Mrs. Figg. However, if a squib were to marry a muggle, it is possible that their child or future descendants would inherit magical ability from the squib’s ancestry and become a witch or wizard, making them a Mudblood (a witch or wizard with non-magical parentage).

Muggle-borns get their magic from being a descendent of a squib, who is the child of usually two magical parents who was born without magic. They are born with magic because somewhere in their family tree they are descended from wizards and witches. The best theory is that magical ability is like a recessive gene, and if each Muggle parent is a carrier, they can produce a magical child. If Muggles do happen to observe the workings of magic, the Ministry of Magic sends Obliviators to cast Memory Charms upon them, causing them to be the first of their family to exhibit any skills in magic.

📹 How Are Muggleborns Told That They’re Magical? – Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we’re discussing Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it’s student population, how …

How do Muggle borns get their magic?

Muggle-borns are witches or wizards born to non-magical parents, who inherit magical abilities from distant ancestors. These individuals are descended from Squibs who have married Muggles and whose families had lost knowledge of their wizarding legacy. The magical abilities of these individuals are not affected by their Muggle parentage, and many have been among the most powerful witches and wizards of their time. The proportion of the wizarding population that is Muggle-born is increasing as pure-blood families shrink in size and number.

How is Hermione magic if her parents aren t?

Muggle-borns are students whose parents were Muggles and grew up unaware of the wizarding world. They may have sensed their differences from a young age, as magical children often perform acts of magic, especially when scared or angry. Hogwarts professors visit Muggle-borns to give them their school letter and explain their identity. It’s a relief when a professor gives them an explanation for the strange things that have happened around them. To be a witch or wizard, one doesn’t need magical parents; as long as they can perform magic, they can attend a magical school.

How do mudbloods get wizard money?

Both Gringotts and Hogwarts offer financial assistance to students who lack the financial resources to procure the necessary educational supplies. The Grangers exchanged muggle money for Knuts and Galleons, while Hogwarts provided loans for students who lacked the financial resources to procure school supplies. It would be advantageous for the wizarding community to have a currency that is applicable to different countries, as this would facilitate access to resources.

Why do wizards hate Mudbloods?

The worlds of Muggles and wizards intersect in surprising ways, such as intermarriage and the Ministry of Magic overseeing their protection. Some wizards hate Muggles due to their perceived superiority and pure-blood heritage, while others see them as tools to be dominated. Despite some negative opinions, wizards study Muggles to understand their everyday lives and interact better with them. The life of a wizard seems more thrilling than the life of an average Muggle, but the tensions between the wizarding world and the plain world of morning coffee and bagels are always a point of interest for many fans of the Harry Potter series.

How did Hermione get magic?

Hermione is a magical prodigy with near-instant mastery of difficult spells, often self-taught due to her avid reading. Her spellcasting abilities are augmented by her near-eidetic memory, allowing her to recall minor details forgotten by others. Hermione also possesses natural Occlumency shields, which develop quickly under repeated training. However, no casting description is provided for Hermione behind the scenes.

How can two Muggles have a wizard child?

The concept of blood-status in wizarding society is not based on genes, but rather on the person’s birth order. Muggleborn refers to a person having non-magical parents, pure-blood to those with magical parents and grandparents, and half-blood to those with magical parents and grandparents. This construct is a construct of wizarding society, and a magical child of two muggle-born individuals would be half-blood. The term “Muggleborn” is used to emphasize the concept of born.

How do mudbloods become witches?

A Muggle-born, also known as a Magbob or Mudblood, is a witch or wizard born to two non-magical parents. Their magical abilities are not affected by their Muggle parentage. Many Muggle-borns, such as Lily Evans and Hermione Granger, are among the most talented witches and wizards of their age. The proportion of the wizarding population being Muggle-born increased throughout the Harry Potter series, leading to a shrinking of pure-blood families. The proportion of Muggle-born wizards was on the rise throughout the series.

How is Hermione magic if her parents aren’t?

Muggle-borns are students whose parents were Muggles and grew up unaware of the wizarding world. They may have sensed their differences from a young age, as magical children often perform acts of magic, especially when scared or angry. Hogwarts professors visit Muggle-borns to give them their school letter and explain their identity. It’s a relief when a professor gives them an explanation for the strange things that have happened around them. To be a witch or wizard, one doesn’t need magical parents; as long as they can perform magic, they can attend a magical school.

Did Hermione’s parents know she was a witch?

Hermione Granger, a witch, was born to a muggle family in Great Britain. Hermione and her husband, Arthur Weasley, entered the magical world in 1992 to buy school supplies for her. However, Hermione had to alter her parents’ memories to protect them from the Death Eaters. After the Second Wizarding War ended, they returned their memories and had grandchildren, Rose and Hugo Granger-Weasley. Mrs. Granger was born to Muggle parents, possibly descended from a Squib.

Do Hermione’s parents ever remember her again?

Following the conclusion of the Second Wizarding War, Hermione returned her parents’ memories and subsequently returned to England. Subsequently, she entered into matrimony with Ron Weasley, who had two children, Rose and Hugo. It seems plausible to suggest that the Grangers were particularly attached to their grandchildren. Ron, for instance, referred to his father as “Granddad Weasley,” which would imply that Mr. Granger was “Granddad Granger.”

Can a wizard marry a Muggle?

Rappaport’s Law, which was repealed in 1965, permitted unions between individuals of wizardly and non-magical backgrounds. However, it is uncertain whether students from Ilvermorny who hail from other countries were subject to the same regulations.

  • Pure + Pure = Pure Pure + Half = Half Pure + Muggleborn = Half Pure + Muggle = Half Half + Half = Half Half + Muggleborn = Half Half + Muggle = Half Muggleborn + Muggleborn = Half Muggleborn + Muggle = Half Muggle + Muggle = Muggle or Muggleborn depending on magical ability. All magical pairings listed above can also result in Squibs, depending on magical ability.

  • Blood status of wizards and witches are exactly the same as that “one drop” racist rule which suggested you were black if you had even a drop of black genes. Pureblood makes it necassary for you to be pure. One drop of other kind of blood makes you a halfblood. This is why for example if a wizard’s maternal grandmother is a half blood but all the other members of family purebloods except for that wizards mom, then that makes him a halfblood. Because his maternal grandma made his mother as a half blood no matter how his grandpa was a pureblood, and his mother made him a halfblood no matter how far he is related to the halfbloods compared to purebloods.

  • For muggle born witches/wizards if it’s really one gene that decides whether or not someone is magic could they not also become magic because their genome mutated? Not sure if it works that way in the series, but coming from a background with labmice in it, and specifically a bloodline of mice which was bred to all have the same genome ( so practically clones ) it is only possible to have 98.4% of the genome the same 1,6% will always mutate

  • So let me get this straight. James was a pure blood and Lily is a muggle born. That makes Harry a half blood. Harry marries Ginny who is a pure blood, but their children are also half bloods even though it is through the marriage of two wizards. Then Harry and Ginny’s grandkids could be considered pure blood if one of their kids (let’s say Albus) marries a pure blood OR a half blood? But what if the half blood Albus marries is the result of another half blood and a squib? Wouldn’t that then mean that it would have to go yet another generation to be considered pure? It’s a little confusing to say the least. I would give up on the whole pure blood thing if for no other reason than because it seems like a lot of work to keep it all straight. And what about the people that lie about their blood status? Ie: Dolores Umbridge. Not that anyone would want to reproduce with that, but if a pure blood thought they were marrying another pure blood who was lying and was actually a half blood or (Heaven forbid) a muggleborn, that might win them a one-way ticket to Azkaban!! Good thing Voldy was defeated!! I always thought his desire for a pure blood society was pretty rich coming from a half-blood conceived with a love potion!

  • I’ve always compared the magical ability to genetics. Like hair color or left/right handedness….I think someone like Hermione and Lily Evans-Potter (Muggle borns) have had a magical ancestor. Then for whatever reason, the gene becomes dormant and generations pass before it becomes ‘activated’ again. The same for Squibs, but in reverse. Magical ability doesn’t matter if the witch or wizard is full blood, half blood, or Muggle born. This is a really good article!

  • I’m addicted to your articles and thank you so much for so eloquently saying what I’ve entertained myself. I’ve always thought that a squib & a muggle were two separate things (research: muggle-repelling charms that would bar squibs from certain services & entertainment) and the ideas shared in this article perfectly articulate why. It seems like this spawned more questions so here’s hoping you’ll do a part II. Q: By your reasoning, if two muggles can create a witch/wizard, can a witch & a wizard create a muggle?

  • The whole concept of Mudblood hate makes no sense when you think about it for a moment. The very first wizards have been said to have come from ordinary Muggle families, seemingly developing their powers out of nowhere. Mudblood’s are muggle born wizards who gained their powers out of nowhere. Ergo, all wizards are descendants of “mudbloods”.

  • This is very interesting, but it does assume that “the ability to do magic” has a genetic component. But I’m not entirely sure . . . . Wizards speak of “bloodlines,” but I wonder what Muggle science would say? Would a complete DNA Sequencing of a Wizard or Witch show anything “out of the ordinary” compared with a typical human? How about a CAT Scan or an MRI; even one done while the Wizard or Witch actually casts a spell? The overall idea I got from the books and movies is that unlike the “X-Gene” with MCU Mutants, magic isn’t something that may be detected by Muggle Science, and it’s this inability to explain these strange powers and abilities that some people have that makes typical humans nervous. (It also might explain why Wizards and Witches have the irrational fear that magic may be “stolen” from them by Muggles.) Thanks for posting this article, it was very thought provoking.

  • First off let me start by saying that I’m a big fan of you, and I respect your knowledge of the magical world. That being said, some of your points in this article are simply not true. #1-What makes a wizard a half blood:In simplest terms, any wizard with anything besides pure bloods in their family history is considered half blood, meaning if there is any muggle or half blood in your family tree that is a legitimate ancestor of yours (family member by blood not marriage) than you are a half blood. #2-What makes a wizard a pure blood:Pretty obvious I would assume. Any wizard with no trace of muggles in their family line. Only pure blooded wizards marrying other pure blooded witches. Once a pure blood marries a muggle, or a half blood, their child will lose the pure blood status, and instead adopt the half blood status, because their blood line became “impure” sorta speak. That being said, your explanation of 3 generations of wizards marrying witches to produce a pure blood is inaccurate, if there is any muggle or half blood in their direct family line, the witch or wizard is deemed half blood. In conclusion:Pure blood – no muggle or half blood in direct family history (100% magical blood throughout history) Half blood – half blood or muggle in family history (anything less than 100% magical blood throughout history) (That is why Harry is a half blood, although both parents are magical, his blood line contains half bloods/muggles) Muggle born – both parents are muggles (family history can contain whatever, only parents are responsible for blood status) As you may assume, pure blood is extremely rare, that’s why throughout the series your hear people say basically everyone is half blood.

  • I don`t agree, Half-Bloods CAN`T be included in the Pure-Blood. Imagine it like this: for Pure-Blood extremist, being a Squib, is a desease (like haveing down sindrome), and even when a Squib can have magical children, there will be always a chance of someone on their future lineage of being a Squib (like it is with any genetical disorder). So the idea of being Pure-Blood is to marry someone who`s family is Pure-Blood too and have a “lesser” chance of haveing a Squib. That`s why Hagrid says that noone has actual Pure-Blood, as they can`t check the entire lineage of their partner. sorry for the bad speling/grammar 🙂

  • Pure and pure is pure Pure and Half is half Half and half is half Half and muggleborn is half Muggleborn and muggleborn is half Muggle and muggle born is half Half and muggle is half Pure and muggle is half Muggle and muggle is muggle and sometimes muggleborn depending on the bloodline. If there is a squib in the bloodline, a muggleborn will eventually be born generations later.

  • If one add genetics to blood it makes little sense. If described pureblood as sb. without any muggles ever, then no one is pureblood as first wizards must came from muggles as there is no information that wizards and muggles were separate at the origins of mankind. It also raises a questions of how wizards came to even exists? Some fandom theories suggested it was mating of muggles with magical creatures, but I personally believe magic is like special talent, power or maybe some kind of energy few only can control (as we know magic and electricity are not working well, Hermione explained this to Harry in the Goblet of Fire). It is possible that muggleborns might me a descendants of squibs (=squibs being result of inbreed as in case of Gaunts) but it also might something that appear. We heard about “magicians” in our word, people clamming they can read minds (telepathy=Legilemency) or move objects (telekinesis=wandless and non verbal Wingardium Leviosa kind of spell, we also know wands are used to website magical energy but is not magical itself, in hands of muggle of squib wand is just a piece of wood) Harry is halfblood because Lily was muggleborn. Distinction between purebloods and others is cultural: we know from books that Ernie MacMillian (pureblood Hufflepuff) told Harry in the second book that he has nine generation of wizards in his lineage. Also we know that his relative Melania married member of the very traditional family of Black years before Ernie was even in plans, it means theoretically after seven generations of wizards only family became a pureblood.

  • I don’t know why everyone tiptoes around the pureblood ideology I mean if the incentive is to continue magical abilities then it would make sense to only wed and breed with magical people… now, demonizing Muggles should be discouraged but there’s no denying that integration of muggle society and Wizarding society would in fact inevitably cause the loss of magical beings

  • I wonder if squibs are essentially the intersex individuals of the wizarding world. Technically, most people have either xx or xy genes and they generally develop along the lines of the genetics. With intersex individuals, a variety of things can happen where their hormonal development doesn’t match the genetic ID (ex, a female with both genetallia due to the hormones accidentally stimulating both features.).

  • Actually I think blood status is more of a social construct than genetic based. Magic seems recessive as they are obviously more muggles in the world. Genetically speaking I think you can either be born magical, born a muggle or born muggle with a magic carrier, and Squibs may have arisen from congenital mutations, environmental factors yada yada yada

  • Muggleborns are still magical people so therefore, BOTH of Harry’s parents are magical, and with that being said (even though I still wouldn’t call him a pureblood), I wouldn’t call him a halfblood either, I think halfblood should only mean one non-magical parent and one magical parent, like Voldemort and Snape who came from MUGGLE fathers, I would call Harry a 3 quarter blood, because technically, that’s what he really is, JMO

  • 3 generations of magical parents make a pureblood doesn’t make sense. Because for James to be a pureblood that would mean both his parents and all four grandparents would need to be purebloods. But for all four grandparents to be pureblood all eight great-grandparents and all sixteen great-great-grandparents would also need to be pureblood. (I could keep going by explaining that the great-great-grandparents would need another 96 people to all be purebloods in order to be considered purebloods. But I’ll spear the details). My point is that by the definition of needing three generations of purebloods you either need everyone every (in the said family) to be purebloods. Or you need some arbitrary starting point.

  • JK herself has said a Pureblood Witch or Wizard is someone with at least 3 generations Witches and Wizards in their family. So to be a Pureblood all ur parents grandparents AND great-grandparents have to be witches or wizards. So one of ur great-grandparents could be a muggle-born and so long as the other 7 are also witches or wizards you’ll be considered a Pureblood. Any less and ur a Half-blood.

  • no no no, sense Lilly Potter was muggle born no more potters can be pure blood because harry is half blood, how can you be 100% magical when someone in your family tree has only one pure blood parent, essentially, how can you be 100% of something if not everyone in your family tree is 100% as well? Most “pure blood” families are not pure bloods but half bloods who pretend to be pure blood.

  • Pure + Pure = Pure Pure + Half with half parents= Pure Pure + half with muggle born parents=Half Half with half parents + half with half parents = pure Half with Muggleborn parents + half =half Half + muggle born = half Half + muggle = half Muggleborn + muggle = half Muggle + muggle=Muggleborn or more likely muggle All magical pairs above can result in squibs

  • My theory : Pure + Pure = Pure……..Muggle + any witch/wizard ( Pure, Half, or Muggleborn) = halfblood………Pure + Muggleborn = 3 quarter blood……….Pure + Half = Pure (more wizard blood cancels out the muggle)……. Halfblood + Halfblood = 3 quarter blood………..Muggleborn + Muggleborn = Magicblood……It’s MY theory 🙂

  • Genetics are different than social class. In social class: Pureblood: 2 magical parents, 4 magical grandparents Halfblood: 0-2 magical parents, 0-4 magical grandparents, can’t be 0 on both Muggle Born: 0 magical parents, 0 magical grandparents Squib: 1-2 magical parents, 0-4 magical grandparents In genetics: Pureblood: Pure wizard blood, requires incest sometimes Halfblood: Both bloods, not just half and half Muggle Born: No wizard blood, descended from squibs Squib: Some or pure wizard blood, dormant magic gene There are way too little real pure bloods so they use the social class more often

  • The imagery of pure blood played a very important part in Nazi ceremonies. Hitler used the issue of spilt pure Aryan blood at the annual Nuremberg rallies. The so-called ‘Blood Banner’ (Blutfahne) was a special Nazi flag that had been supposedly drenched in the blood of “Nazi martyrs” at the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch. Each year at Nuremberg, Hitler would accept new party colours with one hand holding the new colours while his other hand grasped the ‘Blood Banner’. The Blood Order’ (Blutorden) was the highest honorary decoration given out by the Nazi Party and it was awarded to those still alive in 1933 who had participated in the Beer Hall Putsch – about 1500 in total

  • I don’t get it like if ur a muggleborn where did u get ur magic from? Like who was the very first wizard and how did the bloodline start. If a muggle born got their magic from a squib then ok but like when the muggle born has children with a let’s say half blood, wouldn’t they be considered 25% wizard? Same with real life. Let’s say a mixed woman (50%black and 50% white) has kids with a full black man. Their children would be only 25 percent white.

  • There is much confusion on this issue and it does not help that purebloods take Muggle-borns, squibs and Half-bloods out of their genealogical records. In my observation Half-bloods have the strongest magic (Harry, Dumbledore, Voldemort). As to whether a wizard with two magical parents is a pureblood some purebloods would say yes and others would say no. Blood Status however is a phony idea. However, inbreeding is not as is evidenced in the Black and Gaunt lines. Both became unstable.

  • waaait does this mean since Ron (pureblood) Married Hermoine (muggle born), does this mean the Weasley family isnt a part of the Sacred 28 anymore? Is it now the Sacred 27 or do they replace the Weasleys with a re-established pureblood family name to keep it 28? For those who dont know, the sacred 28 is a list of family names who are sitll considered until the current day as pure blood only. Like the Malfoy’s or the Longbottoms

  • If lily Luna Potter have children with one of Lunar Sons ? Would their kids be pure Blood ?If James Sirius Potter have children with Neville’s daughter if he has a daughter ?would their children be pure blood ?If Albus Potter have children with Cho daughter if she has a daughter ? Would their kids be pure blood ?

  • The things is, there is nothing to get. These are arbitrary classifications that have no actual basis in genetics, magical prowess or anything else. Of course there would be a debate, and there probably is one even in the magical world. Even so called pure-bloods all have ancestors who bred with muggles(as ron tells us) or they simply would have died out. The only true classification is magical or non magical. Half-blood = Magical Muggle Born = Magical Pure-Blood = Magical Muggle = Non magical Squib = Non magical Let’s put an end to blood status discrimination.

  • Isn’t the magic gene recessive? This would make sense since two magical parents can have magical children but magical children can also be born to muggles. Squibs can be caused by back-mutation where the magical gene (which doesn’t actually do anything) mutates to a form that produces a functional product that stops you having magic. Perhaps a more likely reason for squibs is witches committing adultery with muggles. There’s also the possibility of epistasis (one gene covering up the effect of another) or something. If you look closely at Biblical genealogies, prophetic powers seem to be due to a recessive gene and prophets selectively bred (who were the “Children of the prophets” ? What was the argument about in Numb 12?).

  • Funny isn’t it. I wish Snape was added a note for this. Perhaps when he finally giving harry the memories of mission he could of finally revealed even more of his best qualities. I just personally wish we read or saw a moment where when Harry is having Occulmency with Snape and Harry questions the use of the term Dark Lord. And Snape relishes it to him that its “his job” They could of expanded the context J.K and Warner. Snape had to ply his memories like a woven tapestry lest Voldermort ever seen in him the truth. It’s easy to love someone and hate all that tarnishes those chances or what’s already established. I just wish we had a bit where Snape showed him doing this even it was him just thinking to himself. “And yet your mother was muggle born…and I loved her” I always feel like Snapes only tell was the blind hatred of a pure blood and its missed. Snape was just raised in weird home and I love J.K for that alone. But fuck me am I the only one who think Snape could have his own story on the big screen? Or small? You’d be able to make at least a 12 episode one off special on a streamer. Cameos galore and make money and satisfy people like me. The premise could be the Nagini killing him and the whole show being his life flashing before his eyes.

  • In my opinion muggle borns should be considered pure bloods. Before you go on and rage let me explain why I think this. Ok so the original 25 wizards would have had to have parents, who would be those MUGGLES yet some how there considered pure bloods when in reality there were just first of there wizarding line. So why would it be different in a muggle born . Remember this is just my opinion so please don’t rage in comments

  • I and everbody considare Hermione Granger like a Skywalker cuz she was born from non magical parents but she has witch blood in her, making her very powerfull ( Even JK Rollings said that Hermione is better than Harry ) & very similiar to Anakin Skywalker who was born from a non force mother without a father while Anakin have minichronians in his blood.

  • If it there needs to be 3 generations of magical born parents to establish a pure blood line. Say Lily Luna Potter marries a magical born person, their child would be pure blood. But what if that person’s parents were muggleborn? There kid would still be pure blood.. So if Hermione child marries someone on the 3rd generation of magical parents their kid would be pure blood. Where am I going wrong here?

  • People get so distracted sometimes over something’s that are really quiet simple. On a different topic I am wondering who Peeves the poltergeist is. Was he a wizard or a squib at one point? And why indeed was he left out of the movies especially the Deathly Hollows part 2 as Minerva calls upon Peeves himself to fight as well. ??

  • I believe they should make a Harry Potter series the newer one when a muggle-born becomes a wizard never having magical powers before. The muggle works with a dark lord to become magical. very dark magic to make them become a wizard themselves. by taking a life of a wizard. Him or her will gain that wizards powers. tell me you can’t make it happen

  • Wait. So if all muggleborns have a squib ancestor, and squibs genes are inactove….doesn’t that mean that at least one parent of the muggleborn must be technicaly a squib? Because the gene must have been there somewhere because if not the muggleborn couldn’t have one? Thats why I think this pureblood superiority thing is absolute bullcrap. What if once there only were wizards and a few squibs and as their number grew, they seperated themselfs from others because they had developed their own way of doing things. And the first muggle in a family line must be someone who didn’t inherited a magical gene from either parent. Thats how their number got so large? This sounds logical to me at least?

  • Wait, I thinkit’s a bit more complicated. If any of Harry’s children marries a haveblood who was born to a Muggleborn and a pure blood, their children will still be halfbloods because it would only be two generations of magical parents. So they has to marry either a pure blood or a half blood who has magical parents

  • If you think Harry is a pure blood I’m concerned for your mental health, his mother is muggle born so that means his entire maternal bloodline going back at least a couple of centuries (to give the family time to forget their squib origins) were all muggles, how could he possibly be considered pureblood.

  • I love this guy’s articles and I usually always agree with him ( no offense what I’m about to say here ) but genes have nothing to do with magic, ya maybe he found some outside sources that say so but to me genes have nothing to do with magic, if your born with magic, your magical unless yu bang your magical cousin, your kids magical abalities will, have nothing to do with genes because genes are scienctific and we’re talking about GADDAM magic ( no offense love your website )

  • By explaining why my grandmother is still robust is because she’s magical as is her mother and father, includes her husband and her husband on my mothers side. Also how I explain that my grandmother from my dads side is strong then she might be magical too which her parents was too, and same thing for my grandpa both moms and dads side including their parents too. That might make me a pure blood.

  • I think that this article is missing a lot of information on genetics. Genes aren’t JUST a case of being passed down. Environment also plays a role. For example, cancer is something that can be either genetic or due to the environment (ex. Carcinogens like tobacco or nuclear exposure). One thing that isn’t made clear in the series is the lineage of squibs (are they from entirely pureblood lines and are thus essentially a case of inbreeding) or are they entirely random?

  • I have a question. If two muggle, who don’t know anything about magic and the magic world, give birth to a child, who has the ability of magic, how can they know where to find the things on their list they get for their first year at Hogwarts? Is it written in the letter or does someone come by and tell them where to find everything? I couldn’t find anything about this topic and i really want to know that… I hope you can understand what i mean, because i think my english skills aren’t the best.

  • Tabitha Stevens and her younger brother Adam(seen in Bewitched), are clearly half-bloods! When Tabitha turd 11, her grandpa Morice arranged for her, and later Adam to attend Hogwarts, as he missed out on sending his daughter Samantha, as her mother Endora sent her to Hagatha’s school for witches in America instead. Tabitha proudly took her place at Hogwarts and was sorted in to Hufflepuff for being so loyal, like her mom and dad. Four years later Adam joins his older sister at Hogwarts and in Hufflepuff! P.S Endora and Clara are Weasleys-they are both sisters of Arthur Weasley!
