Model Magic® is a versatile clay that allows you to create your own colors by mixing different colored balls. You can experiment with different amounts of each color to discover the results. For example, two balls of yellow and one ball of red will make a large yellow orange ball. Another way to create color is to rub a Crayola® marker on moist Model Magic®. To add color before modeling, knead drops of watercolor, tempera, acrylic, or washable paints into the compound.
To add color to white Model Magic, you can paint dry Model Magic® with Crayola Watercolor, Tempera, Acrylic, and washable paints or decorate with them. The four new hues introduced are inchworm, jazzberry jam, and teal blue. The squishy, lightweight clay in vibrant colors offers endless possibilities for creating colorful designs.
To add more color to your creations, ensure that the Model Magic® has dried for at least 24 hours. Crayola Watercolors or Washable Kids Paint work well with Model Magic. When two primary colors are mixed together, they create a secondary color, which is Orange, Green, and Violet. Students can break each primary color into three pieces and mix 2 together to get their secondary color.
Crayola Model Magic comes in many colors and can be mixed together to create even more colors. It has the ability to take acrylic paints and other paints, making it an effective and fun way to teach color mixing in the classroom.
