Which City In The Afterlife Offers Healing Spells?

The base cost in gold for purchasing a spell in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is always three times the current magicka cost, taking into account your character’s skill level and Luck. Spell merchants are merchants who specialize in spells and can be found in every city of Cyrodiil, except Kvatch. They typically sell a few other spells outside of their own.

In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Anvil’s mage’s guild specializes in Restoration, with training available at chapels in Bruma, Skingrad, Bravil, Cheydinhal, or Kvatch. To create the weakest healing spell possible at Arcane University, cast it over and over to save time.

By buying the Thieves’ Den official plug-in, casters can access a spell merchant that sells Fortify Sneak and Security spells. Restore Health, Magicka, Fatigue, Attribute, and Skill spells only work towards healing.

The concentration of a certain spell type in certain cities is noticeable, with Chorrol having more Conjuration spells and Anvil having more Restoration. These spells restore life, fortify stats, and absorb damage, with power and effects based on mastery level.

Anvil Mages Guild specializes in Restoration, but they are mostly offensive while the chapels heal. It is important to visit these locations during the day and avoid visiting the Magnus heaven doomstone once your combined Fame and Infamy reach 50. Mages Guild Halls and the Arcane University also sell spells, with each city having an Alchemist in a Mages Guild Hall. Most chapels have three people selling spells, but it is possible to find the right person if you haven’t found the right person yet.

Who trains restoration in Oblivion?

The guide provides a detailed walkthrough of the quest “Save a City”. To start the quest, two advanced trainers, Marz and Ohtesse, can provide a master training reference. They will direct you to Oleta, a citizen of Kvatch, who requires you to complete the Battle for Castle Kvatch quest. Journal entries may not appear in all cases, and stages may not always be in order of progress. If an entry is marked as “Finishes Quest”, it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries. To advance through the quest, use the console by entering setstage TrainingRestoration stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. Un-completing quest stages is not possible.

Who sells Master Restoration spells?

The Dragonborn spell Bane of the Undead will be added to their spell list after completing the Augur’s challenge. The other Master Restoration spell, Guardian Circle, will be available as a Spell Tome for purchase from Colette Marence. Bugs related to Restoration Ritual Spell should be reported by reloading an old save, posting the bug report with the appropriate system template, and being descriptive when listing the bug and fixes. Discussions should be on the appropriate forum board.

Who to buy Restoration spells from?

Where can I buy restore attribute spells in Oblivion?

The Arcane University offers spell sellers with different restore attribute spells. Users can create their own restore attribute spells as long as they know and can cast at least one spell. IP addresses are temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests, with the most common causes being the latest version of the Opera browser sending multiple invalid requests to servers for every page visited. Users using the Brave browser or Ghostery add-on may also experience temporary or permanent IP blocks due to these additional requests.

Some unofficial phone apps may use GameFAQs as a back-end, but they do not behave like a real web browser, triggering anti-spambot measures. Continued use of these apps may cause IP block indefinitely.

Other common causes include using scripts or add-ons that scan GameFAQs for box and screen images, running a “scraper” or “downloader” program, using poorly configured browser add-ons for blocking content, and overusing the search engine with large searches in a short amount of time. If users promise to stop, the connection will be unblocked temporarily, but they will re-block it if additional bad behavior is detected.

Where can I buy master restoration spells?

Master Spells cannot be purchased in Winterhold College or shops. To obtain Master Restoration spells, one must reach 90 Restoration magic and complete the Restoration Ritual Spell quest starting with Colette Marence at The College of Winterhold. Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. Common causes include the latest version of the Opera browser sending multiple invalid requests to servers for every page visited, using the Brave browser or Ghostery add-on, which send extra traffic to servers for every page visited, and using unofficial phone apps that appear to use GameFAQs as a back-end but do not behave like a real web browser. These apps may cause IP blocks indefinitely.

There is no official GameFAQs app, and there is no contact with the makers of these unofficial apps. Using scripts or add-ons that scan GameFAQs for box and screen images, running a “scraper” or “downloader” program, using poorly configured browser add-ons, or overusing the search engine can also cause IP blocks. If you promise to stop, your connection will be unblocked for now, but re-blocked if additional bad behavior is detected.

Colette will instruct students in the intricacies of Restoration spells, guiding them through the process of attaining proficiency at the Expert level. This will provide a foundation for undertaking the quest to learn the Master Restoration Spell when the student nears the Master level.

Which guild is restoration oblivion?

The Anvil Mages Guild specializes in the Restoration field of magic arts, which involves restoring, fortifying, or absorbing physical and magical attributes, cured diseases, and resisting magical attacks. This skill takes the longest to train by oneself and is essential for all characters in the game. Restoration allows casters to vitalize themselves or others, temporarily boost skills and attributes, and increase Willpower, which in turn increases the magicka regeneration rate. Spell effects and spells are also available for restoration.

How to raise restoration fast in Oblivion?

The author proposes the creation of a weak healing spell at Arcane University and its subsequent reiteration to reduce the requisite resting time. It is recommended that Restoration be selected as a Major skill and that Magic be chosen as a specialization in order to facilitate the attainment of higher levels at a more rapid pace. No alternative methods have been identified that are more expeditious. The author is currently engaged in gameplay of two video games: Disgaea DS and Harvest Moon. A Wonderful Life.

How to get better restoration spells in Oblivion?

To find better healing spells, visit chapels or enter the university for mages. If healing after combat, use the Wait feature for an hour. Healing over time is cheaper than all at once spells. What is the cheapest restoration spell in Oblivion?

The best standard restoration spell for practice is Minor Respite, which is the cheapest and easiest to cast on self. Heal Minor Wounds is also relatively cheap and starts with the block button, increasing casting speed. For custom practice spells, Fortify Fatigue is the cheapest effect. Other cheap effects include resistances like Disease, Fire, Frost, Poison, and Shock, which can be used if a character has access to them via racial powers and abilities. The Fortify Attribute effect is almost as cheap as a resist effect and is available from standard apprentice-level spells and certain birthsigns.

To improve skills, players can learn from trainers, pay for restoration lessons, and learn from skill books. Additionally, two quests provide free skill boosts, and there are multiple generic items with the fortify restoration enchantment. However, there are no Unique Items that fortify the restoration skill unless the Knights of the Nine official download is obtained.

  • I think the lore behind oblivion crisis is that dawn cultists believe that Mundus is the daedric realm of Lorkhan, and the rest of the Aedra killed him and took it for themselves (which you know, the last part is kinda true according to most mythologies of Elder Schools). So their idea is to help Dagon, prince of liberation and revolution, to invade Mundus and restore Lorkhan as the rightful ruler. I don’t think it’s communicated all that well in the game though. Either way, mythic dawn do not think that Mundus is part of Dagon’s realm, at least not from what I know. Also, dremora aren’t exclusive to Dagon’s realm, and and neither other types of lesser daedra. A type of daedra can be more common in a certain prince’s domain, but they are very rarely exclusive. From what I understand, most lesser daedra aren’t really creations of the princes, they are just less powerful, less influential daedric spirits. If they so choose, they can probably travel between different realms of oblivion, serving the princes as people serve rulers of countries. It’s actually a bit strange that dremora are so common in Dagon’s realm, as they are supposed to like order and hierarchies a lot, and as I already said, Dagon is a prince of revolution, so I wouldn’t think it would jive with strict social order of dremora. …it’s as if Bethesda wanted to have regular demon-like enemies in oblivion gates, so they just used dremora without a second thought. As a wise man once said, probably a game mechanic. Also, finally some main screen content.

  • I remember doing a Mages Guild run similar to this, focusing on “non-offensive” skills like Restoration, Alteration, and Mysticism. When I did the quest to get the magic staff, I ended up picking Paralysis as the effect, and after that the game was basically over. As long as I had soul gems (or Varla Stones, more likely), I just had to keep applying the paralyze and then swoop in to slurp the HP away. In hindsight, the fact that Absorb Health is in Restoration in this game is kinda funny. My intention with that playthrough was to be a goodie two-shoes Healer type of character, but Paralysis+Absorb feels more like a vampire than actual vampirism does.

  • 28:13 To answer the question about the invisibility potions, it’s a 50/50! The Feydnaz are a special leveled dremora type that only spawn in the great gate for Defense of Bruma. One of their inventory items is “MQ14DremoraInvisPotion”, a leveled list with only a single item: a Potion of Invisibility. HOWEVER, the leveled list itself has a 50% chance of rolling “none” for its item, leaving it a 50% drop rate.

  • Funny thing I use to do as a kid. I’d run around picking up all the weapons in the beginning areas even the daggers bows and all arrows etc. I’d first use the rats at the beginning to level my light armor and heavy armor and then would kill everything and make it to the part where just right outside the room where the emporer dies. They continously come at you. On my old 360 I’d have so many cultists bodies stacked up from killing them that my 360 would be lagging. I’d go and create my class with the max sneak I got from the beginning and armor and weapons skills where higher. I thought I was badass as a kid being level 21 or 22 at the start of the game whenever you started.

  • 5:26 Mehrunes Dagon’s sphere is Destruction, ambition, revolution, change and whatnot; but do consider his sphere also includes hope. So what better representation of his sphere then a violent blighted chaotic battlefield with the occasional boon of healing/aid to keep you and the fight going? Even for mortals who’s souls wind up ensnared there.

  • On the topic of zombies being tanky, they’re extra trollish for mages because they have 30% magic resist for some reason. That makes their 60% weakness to fire have less bite than you’d expect. And random trivia about the deranged zombies in the Skingrad recommendation quest; they’re “clean”, as in they can’t give you diseases.

  • I wanted to let you know that you often keep me company during my anxiety moments. I am ultra familiar with the Elder Scrolls, so hearing your amble about them is soothing to me when I can’t tolerate in-person company during an anxiety episode here and there. Thank you for that, you make me smile in those moments.

  • Gotta make a shoutout to the fact that you properly caption your articles. Thanks for providing actual subtitles, the automatic captions still suck a lot, and sadly many youtubers do not bother providing real subtitles, including websites many times bigger than yours. Thanks for being considerate and making the effort.

  • TDLR; I buy whatever is most cost-effective and will adequately accomplish the job. Carpenter, handyman, blacksmith here; in regards to your materials question, I use whatever will be best suited to the task at hand. If the “cheap generic” thing i need is pretty much identical to the expensive one, I’ll use the more cost-effective option. There are a few areas where I personally don’t skimp and will shell out for higher quality, like plumbing and electrical components. Screws too… I’ll pay top dollar for good screws. I also try to repurpose things when I can, like turning an old ladder that can’t ladder anymore into a storage rack.

  • Just found your website recently, the only bad part about is is the lack of articles. I binged right through all of your content!!!! Thanks for the high quality challenge runs, I just started playing oblivion again because of you because I was scared of the leveling system. I’m having a blast so thank you very much. I’m getting comfy with food to watch this article🎉 thanks again 🎉

  • No but I actually think that assassinating the Emperor was the most important operation for the Mythic Dawn. Think about it: the Daedric Lord of Revolution (and Desctruction and Change) wouldn’t be appeased by killing some no-name argonians for a few years. His whole thing is breaking the established order, so if you’re going to make sacrifices to him, you’d want to sacrifice nobles, lords, dukes, kings. Emperors. The killing of the Emperor and his heirs WAS the ritual that they NEEDED to complete to empower and embolden Dagon, and gain his favor and protection for themselves. That’s why they had all that manpower and organization to overwhelm his bodyguards on their own escape route, but are so ineffective for the rest of the main quest. They spent all their resources, they blew their load, and after finding out about Martin they’re basically just trying to do damage control while still in the refractory period.

  • To answer the question about using cheap products if you’re skilled at a trade, yes. Absolutely. I am a mechanic that has a lot backing up my skills but may favorite car I’ve ever owned was a $25 2002 Subaru Outback with over 300k miles, 3 connected struts, a multitude of leaks patched with layers upon layers of J.B. Weld. I owned that car for 4 years and probably 15 sets of Douglas All Season tires since every wheel had a different alignment.

  • Allright, I’ve been around your website for some time, watched some articles, and there’s been a certain amount of jokes. Kekage level was variable, overall comfortable, but I was still considering subscribing. But at 0:58, after I wiped off the coffee running through my nose, I finally pressed the button and the bell. Great job, good sir, and thank you for another awesome article

  • 11:45 about the last thing I expected was for someone outside of my group of friends to make reference to High King Skovald complaining to Odin that he deserves the prize like he’s a kid pissed that it isn’t his turn on the Xbox. Content just keeps getting better and better. “NOOO it is my turn on the Xbox ODIN”

  • 12:10 The Bravil mages guild quest is pretty cool, because Varon Vamori does have a “silver tongue” and the ability to teach speechcraft, whereas the illusion magic focused guild raises peoples disposition via the magical method. Ardaline is naturally a shy and anxious girl which is why she joined the guild, and Varon stole her charm staff out of spite that his method won’t work on her and make her return his affections. He’s set up as someone more used to having success with girls and unable to accept when he doesn’t than a “nice guy” type. Either way, excellent dynamic for this particular school of magic.

  • Martin actually does mention why he knows so much about daedric stuff if you ask him about it, with him mentioning he was into a lot of daedric stuff when he was younger, and actually then goes “…They say the Divines can make good out of almost anything, and maybe I’m starting to actually believe it.”

  • @11:30 – Funny you should mention that, because chefs will often not want to cook when they’re at home, so they will hunt down places that they like. The Food Network had a show called “The Best I Ever” or something along those lines, where top-rated chefs would gush about places they love to eat at and what they like to order from said places. After all, while it’s economical to make your own food, sometimes you’re just not in the mood to do the work.

  • To your question to tradesmen about products of various quality; It literally depends on what it is. If it is something I am putting in a wall, covering up? Best I can get, made the best I can. I want it to last as long as possible. If its something that wont cause damage, wont make a mess, and is temporary, lower quality is fine until it can be taken care of properly. If I ever work in someone elses home, I give them the options and my opinion and let them make the decisions.

  • For the assassins at the beginning of the game that spawn while the Emporer is standing waiting for death, they do spawn infinitely but there is a limit of how many can be on screen at one time. I quickly checked on the Xbox Series S and it seemed a bit over 30 bodies would be allowed on screen at one time before fading away. It’s either that there’s a limit to how many NPCs can be in a cell at one time or it’s the guard spawn thing, where if you kill a guard another will spawn after a set amount of days with the exact same inventory as the previous as I believe they shared the same NPC ID. Although if you’re gonna try this out there is a chance the game will freeze or crash, as mine froze after about 15 minutes of letting them spawn.

  • I see the idea behind a healer using a health potion as equivalent to ordering take out, but I wouldn’t feel the same way if it was an alchemist drinking the potion, so in the end I’d have to reject that notion on the grounds that it still took some skill to brew/create that source of healing. A healer’s job would include healing others and therefore their own sense of self preservation is an important aspect of that job. Gotta help yourself to be able to help others. Id see drinking a health potion as an extention of that and as receiving a little help from an outside source, and if a healer looked down on being helped while helping others that’d be weird.

  • @5:35 to answer your question, Aedra and Daedra are literally from the same race of immortals, aka Padomaic beings. Aedra are actually mixed, of both Padomay and Anu where Daedra are spawned from Padomay almost exclusively. The major difference between them really is that the Aedra agreed to sacrifice parts of themselves to create Mundus, where Daedra did not partake in it and instead created the realms of Oblivion for themselves. Men and Mer were created from the Aedra, as they are their ancestors, and by some extension, are also related to the Daedra as the Aedra are related to the Daedra. This explains why both Aedra and Daedra can influence the appearances and physiology of Men and Mer, such as Khajiit being influenced by Aedra going from human-looking to basically large jungle cats, and the Orcs (Orsimer) being influenced by Malacath, a Daedra where they were once the last of the Aldmer.

  • fun fact for the beginning the only upper limit to cultist corpses is dependent on your machine’s hardware and the game’s “little engine that could” I once had over a hundred on the 360 version with not too much frame rate loss. edit: this most likely caused later physics to be buggy b/c that run had the most comical gravity effects

  • Electrician here, I don’t put anything in that will fail a few years down the road for safety reasons, that being said, I’m not replacing every outlet with duplex outlets with the USB ports in the center. I’ll buy the $5 Leviton tamper proof outlets and install those in my house, that’s probably the most I’d spend lol

  • You don’t need to Join the mages guild or Upgrade Frostcrag to make spells. The Arch-Mage’s Quarters in the University is free to use. It is considered trespassing to go there but the room is almost always empty so you almost never get reported and time freezes while you are using the alter. So you can just enter the room an use the alter before you even get one warning from the npcs.

  • I’ve always wanted there to be more non combat related quests and interactions in these games but the consolization with oblivion put a rubber boot in the mud for that. You could theoretically become so proficient at restoration that necromancy users start sweating you could put meat back on their bones and maybe even pull the soul back in there but not a single NPC in these games asks you for your expertise healing with any tangible reward. I remember you could heal some of the peeps in skyrim but they’d just get up and nothing else would happen. This is why its so criminal they took out some of the skills in these games like acrobatics because they are definetly just a means to an end but restoration has to “exist” for players to have regenerating health in the most roundabout way. I quite liked what morrowind was going for with pilgrimages and atleast getting better disposition with healing NPCs (i think atleast i barely remember) but those are quest lines barely anyone knows or cares about which is why they never really focused on it anymore. Though imagine playing a hero who mostly does circus shows with their athletics and acrobatics in morrowind to earn their money.

  • If you treat the Oblivion Gates as Sigil Stone Heists then you can beat the game as a thief. If you want to do this as a challenge I recommend a pacifist thief run. While this is possible without downloading the mod that gives you a blackjack style knock out club, it wouldnt be as fun or interesting, so you should get that. There’s also some good mods like Thieves Guild HQ, Vaults of Cyrodiil, and good ol Better Cities that could be combined to really make a true thief run shine.

  • 8:05 Not sure about TES, but in D&D, true resurrection does not require a body. Now, if you were to resurrect someone while they were in the process of being digested… I assume if the person being resurrected was strong enough, they’d tear their consumer apart from the inside, but otherwise they’d just die again.

  • If you jump to the bottom floor in the middle of the Sigil Stone rooms while the cut scene of everything exploding is happening, it’ll end early and you’ll be teleported outside without taking fall damage. Would help with those moments where you avoided the enemies going upwards. I assume this is a fail safe to make sure the player doesn’t leave the room while it’s happening

  • I always go orc with atranoch once you get a grand ring or spell absorbing you become immune to most spells and traps that use spell damage using weak sorcery potions to counter those sword to sword fight and using lighting touch spell and glimpse of death for my side attacks when people won’t stop blocking

  • I scrubbed through some comments in case someone said it first but found none in the 60 or so i read 🙂 at the 1:45 mark you sais you have a net -50% weakness to magic, this isnt the case 🧙‍♂️ You have a net Zero% weakness Using Flare as an example (6×2)-50%=6 A high elf would take 6+25%=7.5 ❤ Hope this helps and to let you know hitting 100% resistance to magic would always full resist magic, the school of restoration has such a spell you start with accesss to as a breton The main reason your dying is because because you have 60 health and most dremora mages use spell of roughly 15-20 damage even in the early game The solution? probably a sigil stone of resist magic even 5% is fine since its as effective as 10% (ie a spell doing 10 damage now is (10×2)-55%=9 and any hard earned gold could be used to make a spell of resist magic 10% 👀 Good luck in future runs!

  • In case you read these, I’m working on a article for a challenge across all 5 elder scrolls games and the content ended up having a lot more overlap with your article on Daedric Armor collecting than I was comfortable with publishing without asking permission first. I learned most of what I know from your articles, the last thing I want is to step on your toes. It’s just about how fast it is to get a million gold in each game and for Daggerfall and Oblivion the methods are very similar. I haven’t started voice or editing work yet so if you’d rather I didn’t, I can just scrap the project and move on.

  • idc about the high elf hate in oblivion and morrowind, playing a high elf with the atronach sign in morrowind gives you an insane magicka pool at the start of the game with lets you spam strong destruction spells right from the get go to deal with difficult enemies. not to mention stacking absorbtion lets you regen a lot of magicka in fights against othe magic users. IT IS GOOD TRUST ME

  • Im not a plumber so when I need to fix a sink I go all out. But, my job is being a computer programmer, so when I do something professionally, I do it right. At home, I make do with old computer parts, the cheapest stuff I can find, and whatever solution I can hack together as quickly as possible is what Im going with. I mean, I could set up a NAS or some cloud storage to put my music collection on, and use a raspberry pi to play to a modern receiver. Or I can just stream it from my ancient PC to my almost equally ancient laptop over wifi, which then connects to my tv over hdmi, which connects to my 30 year old amp with a jack plug, and play it that way. Whatever works. It sounds great, so who cares.

  • I’ve always enjoyed the idea of alchemy in these games where you can customize and mix almost any conconction you have the reagents for… Unfortunately i don’t think it’s possible to do an alchemy only run? you’d need some way of applying the poison and that can’t be done without weapons which would train their respective skills?

  • By the way, rewatching the article and thinking, there may be a way to actually make Restoration into a valid school of magic by spell stacking (specifically buff stacking). It could probably make this build absolutely busted and quite fun to play. I would lose the mercantile restriction though, just to avoid the tedium.

  • Kings fighting alongside their troops is not exclusively a trope – after all, basically all nobility started out as a military elite and there’s quite a few examples of kings being killed in battle, such as Richard the Lionheart who was killed by a crossbow bolt while laying siege to a castle. Wikipedia has a “Monarchs killed in action” category with 249 entries, so not as uncommon as one might think. Then again, I do understand why you’re not a fan of Martin doing it here. There’s a bit of a difference between “If this person dies in battle, someone else will have to lead the country” and “If this person dies in battle, the country is fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked….” and Martin is too important to the setting to allow him to risk his life like that.

  • Try enhancing a skill itself by 100 and not an attribute, athletics or acrobatics by 100 for 1 second will always be superior, especially acrobatics, as it’s your new fast travel from then on. I’m sure you already knew but just forgot, or maybe something else, dunno. But the skills and attributes cap out at 255, so a 100 boost is always welcome in vanilla without a few glitches. Nice run, have a good day mate

  • alright i got one for you, oblivion with only scrolls. no glitches, mods or cheats, no weapons, no staffs, no other spells, hell why not no armor, no potions. scrolls. only scrolls nothing but scrolls. (obviously these scrolls must be acquired through legitimate means). oh and no frostcrag spire. EDIT: before you say it… i only just realised you did morrowind scrolls only, i am perusal that now 😅
