Which Is More Significant In Astrology, The Moon Or Mars?

Astrology is a complex field that involves the study of planets and their impact on an individual’s character. The Moon, the second most significant planet in the natal chart, serves as the lesser light to the Sun, but still holds a crucial role. The “Big 6” or “Big 3” in astrology refers to the most important planets in a person’s birth chart: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and their rising sign.

The Moon is genderless, affecting both sexes in the same way. It represents emotionality, security, pattern recognition, and pattern recognition. Mars, on the other hand, represents physicality, sexuality, movement, and decisiveness. Moon-Mars aspects reveal passion, sexual chemistry, ease of relating, and friendship.

In Vedic astrology, the Moon is considered the most important planet, as it affects both sexes in the same way. Mars is involved in the horoscope, making a ton of aspects in a single day. The Moon and Mercury make the most aspects due to their quick movement.

Mars is the planet of outward activity and animal passion, including sexual drive, aggression, and anger. It rules Aries and is exalted in the Ascendant, Midheaven, Descendant, Lower Midheaven, and other signs.

Aspects are angles that planets make to each other in the horoscope, as well as to the Ascendant, Midheaven, Descendant, Lower Midheaven, and other signs. Understanding the significance of planetary aspects to Mars can help individuals unleash their inner warrior and gain deeper insights into their sexual inclinations, assertive tendencies, and relationships.

Which planet is most important in astrology?

The Sun, a symbol of the conscious ego, self, power, pride, authority, creativity, spontaneity, health, and vitality, is considered the “life force” in astrology. It has been worshipped since Mesopotamian Religion and is associated with the heart, circulatory system, and thymus. The Sun also plays a crucial role in vitamin D production, aiding the body’s immune system and bone health. In Ayurveda, it governs life-force, pitta, stomach, bones, and eyes.

In modern astrology, the Sun is the primary native ruler of the fifth house, traditionally in the ninth house. The Sun sign is composed of 30 degrees (0-29) and is associated with Sunday. In Dante Alighieri’s music, the Sun is associated with the liberal art of music. In Chinese astrology, the Sun represents Yang, the active, assertive masculine life principle.

What is the most powerful house in astrology?

The angular houses in the chart are the most powerful, while succedent houses, less powerful but more powerful than the cadent houses, have a quality similar to the angular houses. The second house, which succeeds the first house of the body and personality, signifies the things that belong to the person, while the eighth house, following the seventh house of the partner or spouse, represents the belongings of the other person. Succedent houses have a stable, unchanging, fixed quality, deriving from their central position in each quadrant of the chart.

While some houses have malefic or weak connotations, they are productive houses where matters normally take root and flourish, such as possessions or children. The second house signifies the possessions of the person or event for which the chart was cast, and this meaning has persisted unchanged for several thousand years. Modern astrologers may perceive a correspondence between the second house and the sign Taurus, but traditional astrologers did not. Hellenistic astrologers considered the second house the “Gate of Hades”, leading to the houses beneath the horizon of the chart.

What are the top 3 of astrology?

The big three in astrology are sun signs, moon signs, and rising signs. These luminaries provide insight into one’s personality, present, and future. The rising sign, in layman’s terms, represents the consciousness within the human body. Each sign has its own significance, with the sun sign representing the ideal self, the moon sign relating to one’s environment and emotions, and the rising sign defining one’s character, psychology, and personality.

The sun sign, based on the position of the sun during birth, changes signs every thirty days and reflects one’s ideal self. As one grows older, their connection to their sun sign grows, as they learn to accept themselves and develop a deeper understanding of their own unique characteristics.

In what signs is Mars weak?

A weak Mars in a birth chart can result in a reduction in assertiveness and personal achievement. In order to gain an accurate understanding of Mars, it is necessary to consider both strong and weak positions. Mars is the ruler of competitive Aries and the 1st house, but its influence is less pronounced in controlled Scorpio and the 8th house.

Why is the moon better than Mars?

Human missions to the Moon are attractive due to its proximity, resulting in less radiation exposure, communication delays, and rapid egress or rescue. However, the distance to Mars is often viewed negatively due to its complexity and risk. The large distance between Earth and Mars offers increased existential protection, while the small distance between Earth and the Moon offers less protection.

What is a weak moon in astrology?

In Vedic astrology, the Moon (Chandra) is a favorable force that governs emotional and psychological wellbeing. A strong Moon results in good memory, empathy, patience, and luck in work and business. Conversely, a weak Moon can cause anxiety, fear of intimacy, and emotional instability. Physical symptoms may include anemia, dry skin, constipation, or weak lungs.

To improve the Moon and achieve balance in your Vedic horoscope, wear white or silver clothing, especially on Mondays, to harness its benefic powers and improve peace of mind. Avoid dark colors, as they have opposite effects on the Moon’s energy. Transparent, bluish-white clothing represents Venus, so wear solid whites to channel the Moon specifically.

What is the most important thing in astrology?

Ibn Ezra deemed opposition the most powerful aspect in astrology, as it is relational but not unifying like a conjunction. Some astrologers argue that opposition energies can be exaggerated due to their dichotomous quality. All important axes in astrology are essentially oppositions, meaning they can signify oppositional or complementary relationships. A Sextile (abbreviated as “SXt or Sex”) is an angle of 60°, 1 ⁄ 6 of the 360° ecliptic or 1 ⁄ 2 a trine (120°), with an orb of 4-5° allowed depending on the planets involved.

Maraka in Hindu astrology refers to the planets that cause death at the end of a particular life-span. If the assessed life-span is not over, they cause accident, ill-health, poverty, and misery during their dasha or antra-dasha. Each lagna has a fixed maraka or marakas, with the Sun and Moon, and the lord of the 9th house generally not becoming marakas. Primary determinants of death are malefic planets occupying the 2nd and 7th houses and associated with their lords.

Secondary determinants include benefic planets in association with lords of the 2nd and 7th house, benefic planets in association with lords of the 3rd and 8th house, or the lord of the 3rd or 8th associating with the lord of the 2nd or 7th house. Tertiary determinants include Saturn associating with any of the aforementioned marakas, the lord of the 6th or 8th associated with a maraka, and the least powerful planet in the horoscope.

The results of good and bad karmas collected by man between intervals of birth become known in this birth, and the aggregate of man’s karma shape are comprehended with the aid of Jyotisha. The Amsayu method is used to determine the possible span of life if the Lagna is vested with strength, the Pindayu method for the Sun, and the Nisargayu method for the Moon.

Longevity is determined on the strength of the horoscope and the dasa of planets. The planets most afflicted by maraka-propensities are the cause of death. Diseases alone are not the cause of all deaths, but diseases resulting from bad karmas cannot be cured. The grant of term of life depends on Bhagya (luck), and a person not blessed with good health does not enjoy to any extent their granted term of life.

Lord Moon, son of Rishi Atri and Goddess Anusuya, has 27 wives and is associated with mental power, prosperity, motherhood, happiness, femininity, beauty, mind, and water. According to Vedic Astrology, the Moon has friendly relations with the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and neutral planets like Mars, Rahu, Saturn, Ketu, and Jupiter.

The primary gemstone for the Moon is Pearl, but Moonstone can be used as a secondary choice. Remedies for the Moon include drinking plenty of water, respecting one’s mother, taking a bath in the holy river Ganga, wearing pearl, offering milk to Lord Shiva on Mondays, taking blessings from one’s mother, and practicing meditation and chanting “Om”.

Weak Moons can cause depression, mood swings, and negativity in a birth chart, affecting mood, mind, and emotions. To overcome these malefic effects, one must use the mentioned remedies. The Moon also teaches that nothing is permanent, neither happiness nor sorrow, and one should do their Karma and live life with positivity.

  • My boyfriend has this tight conjunction. He is very VERY stubborn. He is kind of close to his mother and family, but the women of his family are quite strong-minded even though they are quite sweet. He is not that easy to get mad, but he has a sharp tongue when he discusses something. Even though his Mars and Moon are in Taurus, he has a fiery approach on things, his energy level is very strong, but he never shouts and gets never aggressive – even though you might think so. He is also very calm emotionally. Maybe it also has to do something with Saturn aspecting this conjunction directly. And he is very sexual.

  • This makes sense. My moon is in Taurus in 7th and Mars in Gemini in 7th. My mother has absolutely no patience and I grew up being yelled at constantly because I had difficulty remembering However I am very patient yet very impatient sometimes. In school I had problems concentrating unless it was an interesting topic like electrical or Information technology. I was not into sports but I loved trying to figure out how to do programming or finding problems with software.

  • I usually the opposite about the bully thing i am the one who’s gonna get really angry with the bully for trying to get power trought another power maybe it is because i have them in acquarious, you’re really right about the short anger things because I can get pretty irritated and i just shout it out, but i have a friendly nature a ” let’s do thing togheter ! Let’s do that! Let’s do this!” I always want to be in an equal relathion where everyone is at the same plane

  • I have this aspect(moon in capricorn and sagittarius mars) thats in western astrology however in vedic its (moon in sagittarius conjunct mars sagittarius) but its at 12 degrees wide orb but I STILL FEEL IT and in my progression chart its grown MUCH STRONGER! Ive always seen my mum as a fighter, strong independent, and had a tendency to be VERY hot headed and occasionally would lash out at me if i was being bad, but my moon in capricorn tries to be calm but i still feel this aspect burning through my personality, I’ve always had bad temper and when i feel threatened or i feel like people get aggressive towards me I FLIP OUT IMMEDIATELY!!

  • I have mars in magha and moon in uttera phalguni. I have it in Leo in my 9th house. During my moon and mars mahadasha i gained a lot of my education. My mother did not go to games or push me. She was pretty detached but me I PERSONALLY pushed my kids to do more. I went to all their school functions and other sporting stuff. I was very aggressive until 34/35. Sex is very high in my mind. I do always feel bad for what i do. It causes someone to become passive aggressive. Think about it. Mars is aggressive. Moon is passive. Mars takes control. Moon needs persuasion

  • I have this placement as a Leo rising. My moon and mars are nicely aspected trineing my Venus in Gemini in the 11th. I feel like it’s given me great strength although it took me some years to tap into that power. I’m very passionate about the things that are important to me and I WILL fight for them. I don’t shy away from confrontation but only when I have to. it takes a lot to push me over the edge (I’m a Taurus sun) but when someone does I FIRMLY stand my ground. Although I tend to cry when I get REALLY angry and frustrated and feel like I have no power.

  • I’ve got this Mars/Moon conjunction in Sagittarius in the 8th house. Mars is earlier than my moon. I had no idea that meant that mars would be pushing my mind! Its like I’m always thinking quickly, acting quickly. Especially if I’m not happy, there’s this unbearable need to get away. It needs to be done A.S.A.P or I feel like my feet are on fire, lol!! I need intensity in my relationships. I need lots and lots of attention or I get bored. It doesn’t help that it squares my Venus in Pisces.

  • This guy said chandra mangal yoga in any house it will provide good results through that house. He said in 8th house (which is a bad house) it will gives sudden windfall of wealth. Then he said that if chandra mangal yoga occurs in bad houses it will be neutralized. Man he just contradicted himself. This guy can be very confusing.

  • So cute! Love the Christmas decorations, your home looks so cozy and fun (Raaj Mahal🤣🤣LOL) I have this exact conjunction in Libra, Mars 11.11 and Moon 11.24 degrees. Yikes. I think being in Libra and in the 12 house tones it down a bit, but I admit I can be low-key controlling in relationships and I need a little confrontation to feel that spark. But still, this attracts TOO much agression and power struggles in life in general it seems. I listen to hard rock or metal music privately in my bedroom to “process” some of my more angry emotions. Looking at me you might never guess how much I struggle with these feelings privately. Its kind of hidden in the 12th house I guess.

  • I’ve noticed men are more likely to have issues with women with that conjunction. Not all of them of course, but a higher percentage tend to be misogynistic. (And while I know you’re not in to the Outer Planets, but there’s also tendency of men with conjuncts or hard aspects between the Moon or Venus with Pluto to have similar problems even when they lack Moon-Mars aspects. Outer Planets are useful, just shouldn’t be used blindly).

  • Nice easy to follow. Moon mars are going over Neptune as I speak. June 9/20. Pisces. 12th. An excellent driver I almost ran a red light and potentially didnt see the pedestrian waiting either. Realizing it all released my pent up gut emotions which sure felt better. Then I applied the first chakra lesson red of Safety. Yup. Watch out for Neptune.

  • 11:21 It’s funny that he says that our mother made us stubborn and angry since we were born. My mother is really the person who makes me most angry. It seems like she does things on purpose to make me very angry. And both she and I are stubborn with each other. If I suggest something for her to do or a solution, she does the opposite of what I told her. Even if doing the opposite is the worst alternative and she will end up in a lot of trouble, she makes a point of showing that she doesn’t accept “obeying me”. I’ve had several angry outbursts provoked by my mother

  • Hi KRS I am a great admirer of yours and read 2 of ur books, conjunctions and aspects … one question – if Moon is at 27 degree in third house and mars is in 4th house, 2 degree than it should be considered as a conjunction … But, which planet is to be considered holding the lowest degrees ? moon or mars .. Thanks Taron Agarwal

  • Kapil sir please help me what is my destiny after Saturn return i know what Saturn wants to say in 12th house but Saturn ignored me to don’t tell the devine knowledge u got through lot of struggles faced in ur life in dream i am very inclined to cinema than my job i don’t know why i want to bring revolution change the world why I don’t know i feel very sad when I look anyone sad please help me kapil why I don’t know please help

  • that was very exact but now we have IR blaster(one remote). I have moon Mars and RAHU and in 8th house in Libra.I also have Jupiter in 9th house.I have very short attention span in studies.Though I understand everything maybe because I have mercury in Virgo(retrograde).Kapiel please help with my studies to score high marks

  • If fully conscious Im working on myself I feel that with the years even tho im 26. I have learn to not always speak out bc not everyone thinks with the same speed like me. And to own up to my mistakes and to stop the repetitive cycle. Now how can you work into manifesting a career of your own with this placement. I know I want to do something with communication and how is this going to be posible and when. My sun is in Aries and my rising in Cancer. they are my ruleing planets* so I’ve learn to connect with the pure and highest energies of them. Please help me It would be such an honer if you can respond back, Thank You!

  • You said that Mars represents your fighting skills so you don’t need to call him a fighter, as that is redundant. “Mars is your self-esteem” why? “Discipline comes through energy” this explanation is vague, can you elaborate? You forgot to mention that Mars represents your brothers and male friends. When you stated that Mars and Moon will provide good results in any house for a Cancer ascendant, what if they’re in the infant or old degree stage (e.g. 0-2 degrees or 25-29 degrees)? Why does Mars represent sexual passion? Wouldn’t how quickly they become angry or agitated depend on the sign they’re in? “Penetrate through” that’s a confusing phrase, I think you mean the mind understands sports and other physical activities quite well, which allows them to excel. If Moon is merely a reflection of any planet that is conjunct with it, then isn’t it like Rahu? Also, If Ketu or Rahu is conjunct with Moon, would Moon be a reflection of them even though they’re technically not true planets?

  • So interesting I was perusal this for a ribbon cutting chart..and then realized that I have moon at 9 leo and Mars at 28 Leo aligned with Regulus..in my 10th.. Yes my mother was abusive..verbally and physically…I bet this crescendoed with my progressed chart? I was more of a hot head as a youth..likeyou said..but I do suffer terrible guilt if I am sharp or angry with someone..normally I stand calm while they lose their mind… I do feel like I should have been capable of more with this Mars…but I did have a huge drive to be a good mother (leo ..5th house) I do think quickly..

  • that’s interesting… my dad is pretty much the opposite!! why?? 😭 mars holds the lowest degree. he’s capricorn rising, moon and mars are in the 12th… i mean, i assume his mind is quite noisy and agitated, ’cause he’d suffered with ocd. his mom btw struggles with bipolar disorder. idk about his mom, but he’s THE calmest person i’ve ever known on this earth.
