Which Ranch Appears In The Conspiracy Theory Film?

Conspiracy Theory is a 1997 American political action thriller film directed by Richard Donner, featuring Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts, and Patrick Stewart. The original screenplay by Brian Helgeland revolves around an eccentric taxi driver who believes many world events are triggered by government conspiracies. The movie follows Jerry Fletcher, a paranoid cab driver who becomes a target when one of his theories turns out to be true.

The movie is set in the 1950s and 1960s, with the C.I.A. MKUltra program being a key factor in the plot. The secret C.I.A. MKUltra program, which ran from 1953 to 1973, is well documented. The movie also features a pre-Q anon rose-tinted version of conspiracy theories and a sympathetic Mel Gibson.

Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura is an American television series hosted by Jesse Ventura and broadcast on truTV. It ran for three seasons from 2009 to 2010. Adriana Caselotti, the voice of Snow White, couldn’t work in movies or music after that movie.

A conspiracy theorist cabdriver stumbles onto a sinister government plot and finds an unlikely ally in a federal lawyer who’s not sure what to believe. The film Operation Avalanche tells the story of a team of CIA agents who fake the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing. Skinwalker Ranch in Utah is one of the most famous paranormal hotspots in the world, and its reputation is attributed to its reputation and the involvement of Gus Van Sant in his shot-to-shot remake of Psycho.

  • My grandmother’s house in Kerry Ireland was built on a leyline or as folklore calls them fairy paths, only one entrance. Supposedly there has to be a back entrance in order for these things to pass through. A lot of strange things happened there. Noises late at night, voice’s, temperature fluctuations. It felt like the center of the universe to me as a kid. Hard to explain why it felt like that. It was sold, twice I heard nobody had luck there. Last couple, passed away as far as I know. And they were quite young too. I’m going to be passing there in a few weeks. I might see if there’s anyone new there. And ask can I Walk the land just for old time sake and take some pictures.

  • You did a fantastic job at presenting all the information you obtained without inserting a biased opinion. Honestly, when I searched this subject, I avoided the History website series mainly because they too often sensationalize things. You did just the opposite, which I greatly appreciate. Great job!!!

  • Thank you for not wasting over an hour of my time with squishy thinking and nonsense regarding Skinwalker Ranch. Your treatment is impressively thorough, and based on honest examination of the history and claims — an approach I find frustratingly rare these days. This satisfied my search for information that did not assume prior knowledge and conclusions, and you have gained my respect with your eventual focus on the question of evidence. Liked and subscribed with gratitude.

  • Congratulations on producing an even-handed account that avoids the sensationalism that’s evident in what I’ve seen of the current TV show. For me, the most compelling evidence that something odd maybe did take place there in the ’90s is that Sherman sold the property at a loss, so anxious was he to get his family away from the ranch.

  • Man, I just love the way that you cover paranormal type stuff, you seriously have the most well rounded and reasonable takes that I ever see on these kinds of subjects. I completely agree with what you said at the end about how people need to be careful to be neither pseudoscientists, nor pseudoskeptics.

  • Because of the absence of data, that has been collected by Fugal’s Team, such as, temperature anomalies, radio frequency outages- anomalies and magnetic field flucuations aloft etc., your hard work has been rendered obsolete, in a sense. They have collected lots of data, documented “strange” phenomenon and experienced physical effects from some type of influence. Very detailed, well researched, well edited and spoken. I appreciate your comprehensive approach from all perspectives and not trying to sell me your opinion. I will subscribe and 👍

  • Thank you for producing something about Skinwalker Ranch that I’m not embarrassed to watch. Those of us who’ve experienced anomalous, inexplicable events are perhaps more curious than folks who haven’t. On the other hand, finding information not churned out by woo believers or close-minded skeptics. It’s frustrating. Glad to discover your website, too. Subbed.

  • Your talk at the end really summarises why I like your coverage of cryprids/aliens/paranormal, you strike a great balance of explaining peoples accounts and evidence for and against it while also not being insulting to the parties involved. So many websites that do tend to do this content lean heavily on one side or the other and more often than not it leads them to overlook things because they either want to dismiss everything or believe everything. I look forward to seeing more of this series as well as your regular history articles, they’re great watches.

  • This was some seriously great sleuthing on your part Fire, I’ve looked into the Skinwalker Ranch numerous times and I’ve always felt that some aspects were being played up/played down depending on the motives of the people involved. Really impressed with how thorough and meticulous you’ve been on this one. When those responsible for reporting the facts also happen to have motives of their own regarding the information I become immediately skeptical as to the veracity of the claims so having someone take the time to look at all of the different angles to this decades long mystery while having no stake in the ranches success is something that’s definitely appreciated. (I wouldn’t mind a part 2 down the road) Just subbed, great website!

  • The way you presented this and dissected all the evidence is honourable to the point that I really think you could be on mainstream TV and change the way others present paranormal cases. So so many do not keep logic and are so obviously biased but you ensure you do not take biased slants to the evidence and fully represent both sides. This is how documentaries on subject matter are supposed to be presented. You are a credit to the field and when I can I’ll donate. This is a joy to watch and will be my go to article for anyone who asks me about SWR. Please try to produce part two, I wait with baited breath.

  • I once had an oilfield job deep in farm country usa and saw a few creepy things described in this story. I woke up to a bright orange light outside my window and when I checked it out from the back porch I could see that the back yard was lit up with those multicolor lights when it should have been pitch black dark outside. The light looked like a sheen of oil on a mud puddle and there were no shadows. It left as soon as I opened the back door and then I saw an orb in the sky and it disappeared and reappeared instanly somewhere else at first it looked like a meteor until it did that and it flew south then east really slowly for like 15 minutes. I also saw a gigantic wolf one night while driving a tank truck it walked up to the road as I was driving by. One thing i noticed about it is that it’s eyes were blacked out instead of having reflective cones that all animals have when they stare into headlights. This happened in Divide County, ND. I worked there for alot of years.

  • Did you see Accidental Truth just released in 2023.? They asked Bigelow about the new addition on his building to accommodate a craft. Then they asked if he had a craft or material at his building and he said no he never received anything. They asked if he’d seen it and he started stumbling for an answer that started to be coy or not knowing how to submit the right answer. I found this part interesting as far as interviews go and answering simple questions.

  • I have watched 3 of your articles now. These are what we need. I have seen the history website ones for example and they go from 0 to bullshit in less than a second. Balance. Just because we dont have an answer, doesnt mean it confirms the craziest ideas. It means we will get some crazy theories, but the more theories that arise, the more things to attempt to prove or disprove and maybe, eventually, find the answer.

  • I’ve seen things with my own two eyes that sound similar to some of the happenings at Skinwalker. Lifetime skeptic until I started having weird things happen over the years, that I’ve had others with me to witness. Sometimes you just have to see it, to know it. Words and illustrations don’t do it justice, when you witness what some of the things moving around in our skies are capable of.

  • Skinwalker Ranch sounds like a terrifying place so why on earth would anyone want to voluntarily go there, then there’s the even more terrifying “Hitchiker Effect” associated with Skinwalker Ranch as well where, anyone who has been to or stayed at Skinwalker Ranch and then when they leave and go back to their home, they now find that the same kind of paranormal events that happened at Skinwalker Ranch is now happening to them at their home. It’s sounds terrifying.

  • Ive always wondered about the financial end. I was raised in ‘cow country’ and my father ran a small cow and calf operation let me tell you the profit margins are not very stable its feast or famine as they say. The expense of buying a run down ranch and stocking it with a high end cattle breed even back in the early 90s can be a massive investment

  • As neither pseudo skeptic or “believer”, I found this to be as balanced and thorough an examination of the subject as is probably possible in a article. We humans want answers to every conceivable question about our world, the universe, and consciousness. Too many settle for believing what serves an emotional need when perhaps the mysteries that envelope us are best approached in silent awe…and continued sober exploration.

  • I watch Skinwalker ranch documentary, the men involved are not actors, some are scientists who started off as skeptics, I believe each and every one of those men are genuine in their reactions and that they might not even believed any of the previous documentation. I know, that not even out of curiosity would I want to visit that ranch. It is truly alive with forces we do not understand. Maybe, as the narrator suggested, some do know exactly what we are dealing with, but not the men we see in Skinwalker ranch, what I would love to hear though, is from the men behind the show, those who are filming, sound men, all those that make the show possible, what are their experiences? Besides myself, I have met many people who have had experiences that they cannot explain, they will not speak about it openly for fear of ridicule, they talk to me because I can identify. Its always a good thing when you can narrate an experience that was really out there.

  • up here above Kentucky ive seen one, and then a couple years later an old head told me he knew someone who saw the same thing in the same area. i never told him, then he outright says it and i stand up out of my seat instantly and demanded him to tell me the rest of their story. it was a short incounter but so was mine. im usually doubtful but as soon as he said the area it was in i got goosebumps

  • thank you so much for this piece. I love much of your work on both websites + always appreciate your perspectives / presentation of facts AND the little asides you provide as well (that is how I know you’ve not turned to AI. jk! not really). anyway. this piece in particular was awesome because I have seen a lot of stuff on skinwalker, feeling like I’m constantly trying to ascertain the ‘what’s and ‘who’s etc. etc. of involvement. every other piece I’ve watched seems to elude giving those specifics, and refuses to spell-out what’s known (and NOT known) the way you have here. I find they are either too short (basically just sticking to ‘phenomena in NE utah’-type language) or too long (really playing-up the unknown pieces + trying to ‘hook’ viewers / readers). someone else said ‘at least a sane documentary on this subject’ and YES. that is the jist. THANK YOU!!!

  • A very interesting tale, and a tale is all that it is. What many people tend to forget is that those that talk about what they’ve seen, heard, felt can make it up. People lie, people want attention, or just want to tell tall tales. Pictures and articles are always missing in these stories. So I see them as interesting stories but nothing more. I do enjoy the articles but obviously I don’t take any of it seriously

  • This was my first exposure to your work. Being on the believer side of perspectives, I nonetheless have become bored with much of the material out there and have been seeking for coverage which is at once more deep in its investigation as well as earnest in its coverage (My assessment of Fugel’s “show” is consistent with your own–sensational). I have been consistently and diligently reading, perusal, learning as much as I could in the topics of UFOs, metaphysical reality, NDEs, paranormal, etc the last decade roughly. As much as a normal busy life can permit. I can say I am CERTAIN there is an aspect of reality we as yet do not even come close to apprehending in our normal understanding of science–that much has become clear, even after weeding out all the chaff out there. Consequently, it is also my conclusion that all these topics: UFOs, abductions, NDEs, Cryptids, paranormal events and phenomena, metaphysics, space travel–are all related, all part of the same incomprehensible quality of reality, we have yet to understand. So, I am happy to say, your handling of this, the Skinwalker Ranch topic, was exceptional, and I am inspired to investigate your other offerings. Well done!

  • I would love a Part 2! Part 1 was fantastic, unbiased and informative of a variety of viewpoints of most involved. However, I still feel there is much more to this story/events/timelines that might explain, completely, what is or isn’t really going on. Perhaps, one could merely hope, or not, for the simple truth! Thank you for your presentation!

  • This is a really well put together documentary. It is unbiased which is a nice change from sources trying to convince you it’s real or debunk it. It’s rare you get an unbiased telling of the stories. I’ve kept up with the TV show and I find it quite interesting. It is over dramatized of course, but it does have some peculiar incidents which seem to back up some of the witness accounts mentioned in the article. They’ve done actual scientific experiments and found some inconclusive yet fascinating things. I do think that there is a lot of information that is kept classified about it. The government has had a heavy involvement in it and on the show they had one of the members from Bigalow’s team as a guest. He had to be careful about what he said because it was heavily implied that a good bit was classified. If you ever decide to make another article on this I highly recommend looking into the TV show, the later seasons have some more interesting phenomena take place.

  • This is the first article of yours I’m perusal. I subscribed after you explained both sides without completely dismissing any theory and after the last couple of minutes, I’d like to say that I thoroughly appreciate that approach. I’ve always believed in the supernatural somewhat though in less fantastical way that I did as a child and I’m currently studying a science degree. What struck me in some of my classes is the approach that a lack of evidence doesn’t definitely disprove the existence of something and that this lack is really what drives scientific research forward. It shouldn’t be about winning arguments or being cynical, but curiosity, though I realise many people use it the first way. I like that this is more or less what you did here too. I never dismiss something “unscientific” outright as my train of thought is usually “how did someone reach this conclusion?” It’s infinitely more interesting and rewarding to pick up information that way and form a picture rather than shutting it down from the start. I love mythology and the associated mystery but I really like learning more about the reasoning behind it, no matter whether that mystery is debunked or not. It’s just fascinating to me to learn and understand how phenomena happen.

  • This has to be the most legit documentary about that ranch. I watched some episodes of the “Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch” and I admit I was most intrigued at first then I found that it was a complete waste of time doing it and perusal it. The “investigations” never amounted to anything that was made public or even made aware. Maybe things happened that we weren’t meant to know about. Maybe those elaborate tests and experiments did in fact find out something but we aren’t supposed to know. Regardless this documentary here is very informative and the content seems quite sound and legitimate. Lastly the narration was also on point and kept my interest and it spoke in normal debunking human terms rather than “speculation with hope”. Great vid. Thank you 🙏🏽

  • This is very interesting my family experienced the same thing but our cows never went missing nor did our equipment randomly move (according to my family I wasn’t born yet) my dad and grandma interacted with the lights more than the others that experienced it but the lights was at a much smaller scale similar to a fire fly. It’s a lot to type but long story short they never caused any harm and the last time my family seen them my grandma and dad looked out of my dad’s bedroom window and see a light shine over the pond in the field behind the house then in the blink of a eye it was shining directly into the window. They stayed as still as possible then they never seen the lights again. I could talk alot more on the subject when I was a kid I was fascinated by the story. I would have grandma tell me it repeatedly

  • Netflix has a “Skin Walker Ranch” show. There are actual scientist testing of some of the phenomena and it would be great if they bring back a follow up to continue the work of what they started and goes on on the ranch and keep weeding out facts from myths. It left you with ok, now finish testing and give more of the findings that back of some of the phenomena one way or the other. Definitely left you looking for more.

  • I saw one of the orange orbs in south central Texas on 1/2/2024 I’ve seen the marfa lights and every human light source, it was about 20x the size, maybe a mile away on the horizon, and went out as soon as I saw it After a big lightning/thunderstorm Just a solid orange light, exactly like the pictures

  • So if the creatures skinwalker comes from this ranch I will just inform that this creatures exists in Sweden too. I tried to take a picture but my phone shut down, 5 times I tried to restart my phone but as soon as I turn the camera on the phone shut down. My dog did not like the thing who starred att us behind a tree. I have two friends who have seen it too. Perstorp in Sweden is where we seen it. 😱

  • Finally! A report that presents the facts (as they’re understood to be), and not exaggerated hyperbole. I have read the ‘Hunt for the Skinwalker’ book and, to tell the truth I am somewhat disappointed that George Knapp might have been involved with some less than professional activity regarding his investigations therein. He has always been, at least for me, a bastion of investigative integrity. I have always felt that the fact that Robert Bigelow’s assertion that he never experienced anything out of the ordinary there was rather telling. Regardless, this article simply leaves us, as usual (when it comes to the subject of the Paranormal/UFOs/UAPs) somewhat empty-handed!

  • When I was a kid in the 60’s, sitting in my back back yard one summer night, a golfball sized, flourescent green orb zoomed about 15 feet across from me. It hovered there & I just stared at it, part alarmed/part fascinated. Then after about 5 minutes or so, it just booked out of site . I didn’t tell anyone because I had no idea what it was, still don’t. But I’ve never forgotten about it.

  • I have a theory So Kenneth Myers didn’t dig or want anyone digging, right? And if I recall correctly, Terry Sherman lost his post digger in the tree. All of the floating light thingies have to defy gravity somehow, and stay afloat, you need something on/in the ground repelling you into the air. There is definitely something in the ground there. Another theory is that in the start, he explains that Skinwalkers can control your mind, and I can’t remember if he said that they’re immortal, but if so, that would explain how they survived the gunshots. Also, the Canadian researcher claimed that when he said “It’s got me! It’s saying we are perusal you!” something was controlling his mind. Like maybe a Skinwalker. Also, all those animals they saw on the side of the road in the trees might as well be more of them. The Navajos summoned the Skinwalkers to drive off the Utes and/or any enemies on that land, correct? I guess the Shermans and the research team identify as enemies. Now I know that these theories may be kinda far-fetched and may or may not be true, but they’re just thoughts that occurred to me at 48:21. Maybe something later may confirm or reject these ideas, but I haven’t even finished the article yet.

  • There have been recent reports by local sheriffs telling ranchers that something ” un natural and un explainable ” was mutilating the cattle in the area and it made the news. The sheriff was fed up with him and the ranchers who know more about attacks and their cattle than anyone else being called normal when they all knew they were not . I am not sure what I think is happening at this ranch but the mutilations have been happening for a very long time and are going on in other areas besides just on that ranch.

  • Remember on the Show the crew at Skinwalker Ranch have actually had Public Companies come on Ranch with their Scientific Equipment and they placed their reputations of their equipment and themselves for the public to see and they saw and noticed failures which they said they never had problems as happened on the Ranch.

  • Kolm kellehur is my best friend’s dad we grew up in the bay area. I pretty much lived at there house and I knew his was into chemistry and science and had written some book my friend described as “fucked up” we were in middle school but all the way through high school I can only remember meeting his dad very few times. It was always just his mom at the house. I know colm woul not lie and is as trustworthy and educated as someone can be.

  • What I find strange in this story and I’ve just finished the book is that the owners of the ranch doesn’t seem to have provided pictures or article of these hundreds of occurences. This was in the 90s and good camera and article equipment for home use were readily available. I don’t know about you but my first thought when having these experiences would be to try and dokument it.

  • Your documentary is fair and balanced in its approach in explaining The Ranch. Unlike others, you have gained nothing in sharing your opinion. You have a healthy skepticism along with an acceptance of somethings at face value. My compliments (for what that is worth) on your work. I shall now follow your website yo see other interesting things you offer. Thank you for your work and honesty.

  • I like the balanced tone you have on this topic and you pretty much summarized how I feel about Skinwalker Ranch as well. The issue I always had with it is the complete lack of any sort of evidence despite how the claims about the place make it sound like the wildest stuff ever was happening there on the regular, yet at the same time it’s hard to understand why all of these people would just make up a hoax to no profit. Like is it just a botched Amytiville-type grift? I doubt it, but in this case it seems like the more likely thing as long as there’s no extra ordinary evidence presented for these extra ordinary events.

  • Kudos, for such a riveting, fact based account of the phenomenon that is apparently Skinwalker Ranch. It had my uninterrupted attention from the first minute, with many incidences left open to interpretation, which I appreciate. Many so called ‘investigators’ or creators of this type of documentary, dare to insult the intelligence of the the viewer, with the assumption and presentation of nonsense. Your viewers will appreciate, as do I, the obvious indepth research involved in presenting such a detailed, credible account of the happenings at the Ranch, and it’s history. I venture to suggest, (and am no doubt not the only proponent doing so), that the orange orb, through which can be seen blue sky, may be a portal through which Extraterrestrial craft enter Earth’e atmosphere. Again, appreciation for work well done.

  • I have been perusal these for years and the similarities are undeniable. So crazy. I saw a disco ball about 7 years ago and I thought I was hallucinating….. but my friend was on article with me and he Saud he looked crazy to him…. I fel fear once he confirmed I was not imaging it. It got bugger and I was too scared to stay. I went inside and was suddenly very tired. I slept well and have never forgotten it.

  • I’d recommend the “Twin Paranormal” 1st article they did from Skinwalker ranch. They definitely caught some sort of humanoid creature, perhaps spirit-esque that was in the treebrush perusal them and very difficult to see (it was like 3am) but definitely there that also ducked down like a poof. This was also filmed in 2022.

  • The Skinwalker Ranch show on History website is probably the most fascinating show I have ever watched. The scientists there are inching closer and closer to discovering what the weird energy phenomenon is, and they are starting to suspect that there is, in fact, some sort of portal capability on the ranch. Not only here on Skinwalker Ranch, but I believe these “portal energy fields” are located all over the earth, and as our science and technology advances these portals will hold the key to exploring the universe, and perhaps, other realms…Kinda spooky stuff, honestly

  • Amazing documentary. You even nailed my first and most skeptical perception: WHY did Terry wait one year? And yes, if I think about it, people “would wait” some length of time before they could come to grips with WHAT to do about something they can’t define. Your thoroughness in presenting ALL credible doubts makes this the BEST piece of journalism I have yet to hear. Knapp, Lazar, Bigelow, Rogan are never that thorough. Also, Stanton Friedman is so “egghead” and impressed with his doctorate that he spends more time leveraging his doctorate to eliminate alternate explanation, that his viewpoint becomes myopic. Thank you for this wonderful documentary!!!!👍👍👏👏🙏

  • Thank you mr learning for this comprehensive investigation into this interesting subject. This unbiased, un-sensationalised report is/was great and the focus on the prior owners and peripheral characters in this whole saga make it suitable for a miniseries. The final analysis was cool and a “like” is coming your way. P.s Twice mina’s beauty rules okay?!

  • I have seen these creatures on Backus highway above the town of Magna Utah. I was sceptical about being that close to them but me curious, I stood eyes locked. When one turned to look at me I began and moved on. But what I seen I called a moose giraffe. Ten years later I learned what I seen we’re infact skinwalkers.

  • Nearly 30 years, millions and millions of dollars, over 100 people, several books, a couple movies, a TV show, and ZERO evidence. Just stories. The most remarkable thing about Skinwalker Ranch is that we’re still talking about it. Great article, though! A few further thoughts. The most likely true account of the dire wolf encounter goes like this. They were out on the ranch one day and a kind of large wolf came walking up, and seemed oddly non-aggressive. They were like “Huh. Cool.” Then the wolf got aggressive with a calf, so he fired a few shots near it and it ran off. That’s it. The whole true story. Everything else has been embellishment after the fact. Regarding animal mutilation, I do find it interesting that 100% of mutilations have occurred on private ranches with valuable livestock. Not one person has ever stumbled upon the carcass of a wild animal and said “Clearly aliens have operated on this thing”. Finally, as regards the ‘inter-stellar boogie man’. Even Einstein still enjoyed a good d*ck joke. Just because aliens are highly intelligent, doesn’t mean that they don’t like screwing with people. 😉

  • I grew up on a 1,200 acre farm. Had many friends come over, most of all lived in the same town, but in a normal house with a little lot you know? A few city slickers came by from Columbus Ohio and it freaked them out. Anywho.. my point in saying all that was, people that ain’t used to country like that.. they tend to get scared once they’re out in it. Their minds make things up to rationalize their fear to common things that they’re simply not used too. Had a buddy once that was convinced he saw a ufo in the tree line a couple miles away on a neighboring property. It was around 1 am .. around 2 miles away. We were on our back deck perusal it, smoking, and drinking. Our house sat about center of the property that was a huge rectangular plot around 4~ miles long by 1/2 mile wide (rough guesses guys give or take) anyways.. There were lights and the trees were glowing. I messed with him for a few and hyped him up then told him it was a combine and the neighbor was just taking corn in. He didn’t think I was messing with him about the ufo but the combine he didn’t believe so .. I said “let’s go, I’ll show you.” Had to grab a rifle and a few flashlights to make him feel better lmao .. I walked him all the way there through the woods, figured it would be more dramatic than a four wheeler if we walked. Man he was petrified of the woods at night. I messed with him the whole way.. probably took 45 min or so to walk there lol through a flooded creek that I made him walk.. hahaha anywho I made him talk to the neighbors when we got out there too!

  • I will say it, I truly wonder how much of this is mass hysteria. I remember me and my friends in high school would explore this old abandoned property where we lived nearly every weekend for several years. My friends would freak out and say they saw something which got my mind worked up as well and I was convinced I would see things too. Later now in life, I realize that I never saw anything but was playing off of the fear and curiosity that my friends were playing up. What is strange to me is how the family members began to witness things too even though they were there. It makes me think about how matters at work might be brought up at home, causing curiosity and fear among the family members and made them see things that weren’t there.

  • 1:01:30 this question about alien intelligence required for interstellar travel vs possible lack of intelligence displayed once they arrive, may have been answered by the late great novelist Douglas Adams: who explained the B Ark was filled with the people with Arts degrees, marketing execs, telephone sanitisers etc. The smart people and the actual workers stayed on the home world (& promptly died out from a disease caused by an unsanitised telephone). So, basically, the B Ark crash landed on Earth.

  • What is becoming more & more apparent to me is that some things cant be photographed for whichever of a variety of reasons. Studies such as this varify that, if little else (positively) through their data results. Ppl put so much weight on photographic ‘evidence’, the collection of it & so forth. As if that is the pinnacle of proof. Which has always been funny to me bc even when a photo is captured no one believes it anyway. Its a paranormal catch 22

  • I always found the tale of Skinwalker Ranch interesting, i love creepy stuff, creepypasta, folklore, etc, so it caught my attention. I don’t know what’s going on or went on there. There was clearly research done there. It was bought up by people who wanted to do research. It’s been investigated by the gov, along with many others. Supernatural? UFO? Other? Idk, all i do know is something that, at the very least, is going on that warranted the attention that place got and has. Besides, if it is something crazy it’s not like the public would be told about it. The gov would have a field day if there was actual paranormal shit going down there.

  • I remember listening to an interview with NIDS researcher Kelleher and he said the hardest, but most infuriating evidence they have is the three separate field article cameras which pointed at each, all went offline at the exact same time. Trying to find out what happened they went to the cameras only to find that the article and power cables of all of them were simply ripped out. At the exact same time. I imagine that would count as evidence of something truly strange, even though the cameras were too far out of range to record who or what ripped them out. I guess you could explain it away by saying some hoaxers synchronously ripped them out or that Kelleher is lying. A couple other issues: a) Hal Puthoff is an actual scientist, though he has researched paranormal phenomena also. b) Bigelow is most well known for being the CEO of Bigelow Aerospace.

  • Great article, very well balanced, thank you! That vanishing and reappearing pole-digger reminds me of the alleged poltergeist-activity in Stans reported by Melchior Joller in his diary in ca. 1850. He claims that one night he and his wife heard loud noises from the wall behind their bed and found, on inspection, that an ox-harness had found its way into the chimney. They actually had to have the wall opened to get it out, so no way could that have been just placed there as a hoax.

  • Cogent and pragmatic analysis. Aside from the unusual carcasses the human immagination and or mental illness seems probable. I believe some places don’t agree with some people. I guess l’m too agreeable because in my years being now retired I have yet to witness anything supernatural, if l were Mr Bigelow l would have made it my holiday resort through curiosity

  • Thank you especially for the wonderful treatment of the “sceptic camp” vs the “true believer camp”. It is all too easy to call everything an owl or people being ignorant, and it means a great deal that you don’t take this approach. Likewise, it is good to see that you aren’t willing to swallow everything without at least looking at it first. This is also all too easy, and frequently done. You are a true investigator and researcher. You look for the truth. If that’s something unexplained, you’re glad to find it. If it has a reasonable explanation, or at least does not prove to be as “incredible” as accounts claim, you’re equally happy to find that as well. My congratulations on a job well done. Keep up the good work. Just subscribed to hear more.

  • I’m familiar with everything you’ve said. Linda howe, george knapp, rich dolan, whitley strieber, john lear have all spoke about the same alleged stories. I think you did a good job narrating. The ‘glowing orbs’ in my opinion are drones for lack of a better word. Did the mention the four bulls packed like sardines in a small shed, can’t quite remember?

  • Very well done and thank you for looking at such controversial subject matter from a scientific, balanced and rational perspective! As someone ‘new’ to the topic who doesn’t believe in anything regarded by us (Humans) as supernatural, and as someone has had absolutely no supernatural experiences, nor have I seen anything that could be deemed as ‘other worldly’, I really appreciate it when such subject matter is not further stigmatized by bleeding-heart believers with wild testimonies, as there might yet be something absolutely worth discovering, something telling about who we are, where we come from and what is out there, whether interdimensional, extraterrestrial or even terrestrial, and that should not be further pushed into the fringes of frantic fanatics, if we hope to come across such a discovery anytime in our foreseeable future, as a species.

  • George Knapp did quite a bit of investigation on this ranch. He has stated that the activity went down quite a bit after Bigalow bought the ranch. The scientists came to the property with a lot of technical equipment to monitor every area. Others who have investigated cryptid type activity have reported that activity usually goes down quite a bit when motion detection lights are put up as well as trail cameras OR the equipment is ripped down continually discouraging their use. I guess it depends upon how much the things want to stay and harass people. I have seen actual “paranormal” activity. It exists and there are areas that are more prone to it. Whatever is creating this kind of strange activity does not want to be famous. There is a good article of George Knapp at a UFO convention giving a presentation. He explains a lot of what went on by his own personal experience. By the way, Sherman is not the real name of the people who bought the ranch and had so much trouble. They did not want to be hounded by the press or anyone else. They had invested a lot of money in expensive breeding livestock so I doubt that he was damaging his own investment. Also natives of that area claim that the area is cursed if you believe in that kind of thing.

  • Really enjoyed your interesting history and commentary on the ranch. Thank you for the work you did to provide this narrative. There’s one aspect of the story that there seems to be some disagreement about though- I recently listened to a George Knapp episode on Mystery Wire in which he said that the part of the story (not your story particularly) about the three strange spots left after the three dogs disappeared is not accurate. I don’t know which version is correct, spots or no spots, but there’s a discrepancy in the stories. I of course don’t know what to make of the reports about Skinwalker Ranch since I don’t have access to concrete data or personal experience. It certainly generates intriguing stories. At the very least it’s fun and at the most we are living in a very weird and spooky world. I much prefer hearing about it from people like you and George Knapp over things like the History website show- thanks again!

  • I think you were right. The likely explanation in this case is that someone unknown may have wanted to frighten the family off the ranch. When researchers came the activity seemed to not be so present. That alone is a very interesting fact. Perhaps whomever the perpetrators were, didn’t want their technology to be studied professionally. Perhaps area fifty-one being so near is something to consider. Perhaps the area is ideal for flight tests of vehicles that appear alien to us. Who knows?

  • 🟠 I am familiar with the “fiery orange orbs” from living in Idaho through the turn of the millennium. In 2001, I camped out in my yard for the summer. On the most notable night, I was bewildered by this massive & solid sphere of light/plasma. The warm light radiated inward unlike any example I can offer. I initially thought it was the moon for lack of a better reference. However, this moon was at least 2x magnitude (1-2 degrees of arc length vs. the moon at 0.5 arc). I quickly realized that none of these observations were characteristic of the moon. As soon as this registered, I noticed the embering death star was slowly & silently crossing over my neighborhood. It seemingly sat somewhere over trees yet under mountains. It kept a fixed southeasterly vector maintaining speed & altitude as it crossed closely overhead. I never found descriptions of bolides or luminous events maintaining such a perfect sphere without any trail or breakup wandering lazily over rooftops. It was too exotic to be a lantern and would have been within 100 feet to create such a degree of arc for a lantern-sized object (~1m). “Earth Lights” seem to be a fitting name for these plasma balls (i.e. Hessdalen, Marfa, Min Min, Naga, etc.). But a natural piezoelectric effect hardly does justice to their orchestrated movements. The only hint of resolution I’ve found has been from researching NUFORC reports. There are several similar “fiery orange orb” reports from my small area and thousands of these anomalous fireballs from Idaho alone.

  • I have listened to Knapp’s presentations on SR for a good few years and you have basically said everything that I think of as I work away with it playing in my headphones. I don’t think Knapp, Bigelow, the NIDS guys or even the Sherman’s really had anything to gain from hoaxing but with no evidence it comes down to faith. As much as I do believe weird stuff went on even Knapp admited that when he or Bigelow were there they saw absolutely nothing. Superb article though.

  • Great work – and just in time for spooky season. I found your explanations very reasonable and well thought out. Just by the way, I have experienced the ball/orb sighting myself at the military college I went to in Virginia (its a very old school and a well known civil war haunting site with frequent reports). It traveled purposefully along an open air corridor and up some stairs. Not sure why they take that form, but it seems to be common for some reason. On a clear night too – so I don’t think it was ball lightning.

  • I have been to this ranch before and I saw basically nothing super natural or wierd the whole time I was there. Closest thing to anything wierd or odd was a portal opening up and a delta shaped craft battling with some spherical craft at around 3am, and then a shape-shifting alien who’d been wounded and was apparently trying to get back home. Anyway that’s pretty much it, the rest of the time was just boring nothing-burgers out there so I have to say this “Skinwalker Ranch” thing is an urban legend at best.

  • Would be cool to hear your opinion on season 2 and 3 of secrets of skinwalker ranch on history. I agree, it’s sensationalised, but as the series progresses, and their experiments begin to focus on specifics, it does really appear like they are onto some potentially mind boggling stuff. Especially towards the end of the last season.. Personally cannot wait for season 4, as either they are on the brink of something epic with actual proof, or just messing with us with an elaborate, made for TV hoax..

  • This is a fantastic treatment of the topic, great job. It’s important to not be credulous and to put bold new explanatory theories through the wringer of falsification, but it’s just as important to not fall into denialism, either, and decide a priori that you already know “things don’t work that way.” It’s frustrating to watch these investigators, however, who ostensibly do currently believe there’s some kind of mentality at work in the area, not actually internalize their own idea and just try to communicate with the damn thing. They keep trying to catch it with its pants down as if they think it’s still ultimately just exotic versions of the unintelligent phenomena they’re used to, instead of taking their own ideas seriously and “opening hailing frequencies.” I dunno about you, but if I sincerely believed I was in the presence of some kind of alien intelligence, the very first thing I’d do is try to figure out how to communicate with (and hopefully befriend) it. I suspect they’re either 1) still to embarrassed, 2) it’s too outside their training to occur to them, 3) they already tried everything they could think of and nothing happens and they don’t talk about it because they don’t want to look silly, or 4) something did happen and the results are some of the things Knapp and the others “can’t talk about”—After all, if some hyperdimensional superintelligence tells you “keep this conversation a secret,” you better keep that secret.

  • So Terry saw the dogs follow the orbs in the afternoon/evening, and then the next morning he went to check what had happened to them? Wonder if this was just a mistake in the script. I’ve watched a lot of articles on Skinwalker Ranch, but can’t recall whether he followed the dogs at the time they chased the orbs, and came to find this goo on the ground and the dogs missing. Just seems odd that he saw them chase it, and just went to bed

  • I think it is perhaps a combination of different possibilities like you said. 1. I cannot for the life of me understand why no one talked to any of the native elders of the Navajo or the Ute tribe to understand more about the history of the place? I imagine they would have a wealth of information of what the shapeshifters are capable of and whether they have supernatural abilities beyond shapeshifting like being unhurt by bullets. The creature they saw in the tree could also be another version of a shapeshifter. It would help to know if the Navajos still exist in some form in the area or are the extinct? I saw a Native person briefly come to bless the Skinwalker ranch and he said if your equipment is malfunctioning it means its a higher power telling you to stop. But I think a huge opportunity was missed in the wealth of information on the paranormal and metaphysical Natives have. 2. From what you briefed about the Navajo tribe, they appear to be similar to Aghoras in India who feed on the dead. It would fit their nature to feed on sexual organs of the cow, mutilating them, drinking their blood or even that of the dogs. Your intro said they were malevolent and into black magic and these actions do fit their bill. But that being said, I cannot speak for the surgical mutilations ( was this verified?) 3. I believe the Myers could have experienced all of these and perhaps was warned by the Natives not to dig on the property. Why else would he say bad things happen when you do? He must have experienced something that must have terrified him.

  • Have you seen Skinwalker ranch season 4, and Beyond Skinwalker Ranch? Both of these shows have scientific equipment used to catagorise, document and record the phenomena. If the phenomenon doesn’t drain their batteries or other such annoyances! Many of your arguments against the phenomenon being real, are covered. However you pose intriguing questions about the US MILITARY involvement. I really enjoyed your informative and questioning style. Thanks ☺️

  • I’ve been perusal The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch ALL the way through and it’s too bad you didn’t. There IS much there you have missed. I hope others WILL base their opinion on completeness and not partial as that’s like basing everything on the first 10 people in the door. That and the Mystery of Blind Frog Ranch show that there IS much going on in the Uinta Basin in Utah and people are putting boots on the ground to try to show people that. I for one appreciate their efforts as they catch a lot of criticism and not enough appreciation for what they’re trying to do. People say it’s for the money and yet they’re losing more than they’re making to try to prove this stuff not to mention the invasion of privacy on their property and added harrassment. P.S. I tried to continue perusal but couldn’t. It had gone from giving recorded facts to personal opinions. I hear enough of those.

  • This is far from the only place in the four corners with many, many wildly strange happanings. I was with the San Juan County Fire Department for just ubser 5 years, and I’ve seen many weird things all over that area. Where CO, NM, UT, and AZ meet is by far one of the strangest places iive ever been; and I’ve lived in 15 states and been to every state in the lower 48.

  • I appreciate this article, however… I do take issue with you forming a sceptical opinion of the series. Based on what? Viewing the first couple of episodes? There are 3 seasons available & despite the dramatics included in reality TV, the scientists working on the project are certainly methodical & credible. It sure held my interest & I went into it with a very neutral view of the subject. No, they didn’t meet E.T., but to say they found no hard evidence is blithely dismissive.

  • I’m open minded and level headed and I have interest in anything “paranormal” “unusual” “unexplained” and “spiritual” “theological” Furthermore, I study history, the sciences and psychology. As well as the standard reading, writing, and mathematics. From weather to social studies. I have an interest in everything. One thing that I have witnessed with certain people is they can have hyper interest in or a fear of a subject. Whether it be ufos or Bigfoot, ghosts . I’ve seen people psyche themselves up into a frenzy and claim to see Bigfoot and ufo everywhere. Even misidentify known objects. In their minds they %100 saw these things. Some people just make up shit and lie to get attention. Other folks will ignore the obvious if it doesn’t align with their beliefs. I’m one to listen to anyone’s story or experience . I’ve heard many that I believe and many I don’t and a few I’m undecided about. There is something or many things real out there I have no doubt about it. All I want to know about skin walker ranch is the information Bigelow and AAWSAP Have decided to withhold from the public . That sounds like they found answers. But who knows 🤔

  • They are opening portals to the regions of Hell or other dark dimensions.(That’s why they smelled sulphur at the site.) And they can do this because human beings have assisted them using Black Magick rituals to open passageways. Jack Parsons opened a portal along with Hubbard, spending several days in the desert doing Satanic rituals. Then he was killed and couldn’t close the portal. It’s been open, in the desert, ever since. This was decades ago in the SW desert areas of CA. Who knows what other areas have been used for Black Magick. Coincidence? For some kinds of portals or cross overs, it takes PEOPLE to assist demonic beings to accomplish their goals. Just like it’s taking human beings to help set up the Beast System of the coming Antichrist, which we, humanity, can see and feel being implemented all around us, in every country – he’s certainly not accomplishing this all on his own. Demonic beings work together with people to accomplish their goals of enslaving and destroying ALL of mankind – unfortunately, FAR too many human beings seem to be spiritually pretty retarded, downright STUPID, assisting their own mortal enemies in their OWN eventual horrific slavery and torture and DEATH – in exchange for some pretty trinkets and beads. And some cash and prestige, of course. I wonder if and when these IDIOTS who are helping demons to enslave and kill our WHOLE SPECIES, not to mention destroying our countries, and nature, and our world, will EVER actually wake the bloody hell UP and realize what they’re doing.

  • Over in Idaho we kids were having a backyard sleepover in the 1960s. A blue orb appeared in the dark hovering over our fence. Similar to what’s described here. We kids were absolutely still and silent for the minutes it was there until it moved across two yards and over the neighbors’ fence. Then we burst out screaming, kids jumping out of their sleeping bags and running home. I and another girl stayed awake as long as possible in case it returned. I was 10. We didn’t have all the movies then that kids now have grown up with or read comic books on these topics.
