A Card That Dispels Magic?

📹 Top 10 “Negate All” Cards in YuGiOh

In this list we’ll go over the best cards in the game which have an effect, that allow them to negate any card effect. So it has to be …

What is negate the activation of spell cards?

To negate the activation of a card or effect is to cause it to not resolve after being activated. An activation can only be negated by a card effect that specifically uses the term “negate”.

If the activation of a Spell or Trap Card is negated, that card is sent to the Graveyard, but it is not treated as being sent from the field. If the activation of a card effect is negated, that card remains in its current location unless a card effect specifies otherwise (such as ” Divine Wrath ” specifying that the monster is destroyed ). If the activation of a card or effect is negated, because it does not resolve, the most previous Chain Link is considered the last thing to happen instead (for the purposes of missing the timing ).

Even if a card or effect’s activation is negated, any activation cost paid is not undone. For example, if ” Lightning Vortex ” is negated by ” Dark Bribe “, the card discarded for its activation cost is not returned to the hand.

If a card or effect has a restriction on how often it can be activated, the specific wording of the restriction affects whether negated activations count towards this limit.

How do you use counter spells?

You attempt to interrupt a creature in the process of casting a spell. If the creature is casting a spell of 3rd level or lower, its spell fails and has no effect. If it is casting a spell of 4th level or higher, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a success, the creature’s spell fails and has no effect.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the interrupted spell has no effect if its level is less than or equal to the level of the spell slot you used.

1 reaction, which you take when you see a creature within 60 feet of you casting a spell.

What card destroys monsters?

Living up to its name, Dark Hole is a Spell card that destroys every Monster on the field when activated. Since this includes your own Monsters, it’s best to play when you’re either at a disadvantage or have Monsters on the field that are immune to destruction effects.

In most decks, the Spell card Raigeki is a better choice than Dark Hole since it destroys only your opponent’s Monsters. However, archetypes that can benefit from having their own Monsters destroyed—like Rokkets—may be able to use Dark Hole to pull off some surprising plays.

This Trap card dates back to the early days of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, but it’s still an effective option for targeting specific Monster cards. When your opponent Normal, Flip, or Special summons one or more Monsters with 1, 500 or more attack points, Bottomless Trap Hole lets you destroy and then banish all of those Monsters.

What does it mean to counter a spell?

Certain spells and abilities can “counter target spells” or similar effects, which are evergreen keyword actions. A spell that is countered is put into the graveyard instead of doing its effect, negating it. Counterspells or permission spells may have conditions, such as forcing a player to pay additional mana. Most counterspell cards are blue, with white being tertiary. Counterspells in other colors only existed in the early days of Magic and the Time Spiral block. The most recent off-color counterspell is Verdant Command from Modern Horizons 2, which is green.

What happens when you negate a field spell?

In the event that the activation of a Spell Card is negated, the Spell will be directed to the Global Youth by default.

A Spell Counter is a counter that can be placed on cards with effects that allow them to gain Spell Counters. These cards, such as “Skilled Dark Magician” or “Pitch-Black Power Stone”, can gain Spell Counters by activating a Spell Card. Spell Counters do not work themselves, but some cards require them to use their effects. Spell Counters are typically centered around Spellcaster-Type monsters, and Structure Decks, Spellcaster’s Judgment, and Spellcaster’s Command contain several related cards.

  • So Invoked Mechaba has the same effect as Arcana Knight Joker, except you can reasonably get it out in a standard duel. Not bad. And for Dragun, you only need one garnet: Dark Magician. Red-Eyes Fusion says that it can only summon fusion monsters that “list Red Eyes Black Dragon” as a material, not that you have to use it. Since Dragun has the alternate summon of using a dragon effect monster, you can run him in any deck with multiple effect dragons by sacking 10 total slots: three Dark Magicians, three Red-Eyes Fusions, one Predaplant Verte Anaconda, and three Draguns.

  • Hot Red Dragon Archfiend King Calamity? Utopic zexal’s effect for the turn you summon it, 4k damage to your opponent, and it’s good revival for scarlight, void ogre, and whatever else meets its requirements. Or maybe it’s not really that good, and I’m just a bit biased because I’m a red dragon archfiend fan 😅

  • Not sure if you’ve ever done this..if you have I haven’t seen it before…I think a cool list would be a top ten on either normal or any monster cards for the cards who look like they should have more attack points than they do or even less..cause there are some cards that are like a bad ass dragon with less attack points than a tiny little plant etc

  • just a correction: if you are playing a dragon deck, you don’t need to play red eyes black dragon, only dark magician for dragun, his material are “dark magian+ red eyes B.dragon OR a effect dragon monster, plus, red eyes fusion doesn’t requires you to use red eyes, it only needs him to be listed as a material

  • lol crossout designator is more for combining with what you want banished. Mist Valley Apex Avian was my favorite pendulum summon card lol Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo would be so abusive with it. 4:10-4:40 not gonna mention how solemn judgment can be used with 1 life point as opposed to solemn scolding? Thanks for mentioning light and darkness dragon, super poly/chainable traps would help (once per chain rule, so you can stop red-eyes dragoon similarly by chaining to its negation effect with another monster removal/negation in response to its negation)

  • Dragonmaid Stahl is also a great omni negate. Its easy to summon, recycles Dragonmaid cards every turn, and when it negates it goes back to the extra deck to bring out its secondary boss monster that can wipe all opponent monsters at the start and end of the battle phase. The only issue is that its not in the TCG yet and its restricted to a currently non-competive archetype. Its a great offensive and defensive card though.

  • I run a Paleo, Aquaactress, Frog deck lol. Though the only frogs I use are Flip Flop and Uni. Getting Toadally out is super easy, and there are plenty of cards like Wetlands to give insane attack to level 2 cards. Also, Aquarium Stage is actually insane if you are up against someone who doesn’t run any water attribute creatures. Flip Flop can’t die lol. Honestly feel like Aquaactress has been overlooked by a lot of people, but the support cards are actually fairly potent

  • As Vampire archetype are my main deck, I personal adore Vampire Domination. If a Spell/Trap/or monster effect is activated while you control a Vampire monster, negate the activation and if you do, destroy that card, then, if it was a Monster card, gain LP equal to its original ATK. Its a once per turn card but its a damn good trap card for a Vampire Deck.

  • i normally dont comment, but i think gamaciel is really underrated. it can have the potential of up to 5 quick effect omni-negate (and banish!) per turn, and you can chain it continuously. as long as you have the field spell kyoutou waterfront and the key spell kaiju files, it can have the potential to continuously stop effects anywhere, hand, field, and gy.

  • Correct me if I’m wrong, but… excluding cards that cannot be responded to, technically, only the lowest three spots on this list are omni-negates, right? Because of spell speed 3, only Counter Traps can be activated in response to other Counter Traps, so the other cards on this list are unable to negate Counter Traps.

  • Question: If (eater of Millions) attacks (slacker magician) Can the (slacker magician) DESTROY (eater of Millions) by using xyz effect because (Eater of Millions) have an EFFECT to banish as it attacks, as (slacker magician) is targeted by an effect monster. That said is banishing cards an effect card? Also with (maiden with eyes of blue)? Slacker Magician and Maiden with eyes of Blue

  • I can totally see Dragun of Red-Eyes being banned in the future, but I think that’s a little bit extreme. The best course of action to nerf it is to limit or ban Red-Eyes Fusion instead because that’s THE card that allows players to go into Dragun that easily in the first place. As a fan of the Dark Magician archetype, I don’t want to see Dragun of Red-Eyes banned. But I’m totally fine with Red-Eyes fusion being banned because it is pretty broken especially if you open your hand with it…….Not to mention, with the new Master Rule taking place, if your opponent does negate your Red-Eyes Fusion (since it didn’t resolve its effect), you can still summon monsters in the same turn which I think made the card even more broken.

  • What about my boy Hoárr, generaider boss of rumbling it has a quick effect where it can negate any effect once per turn and if your opponent adds a card from there deck to there hand not in the damage step or draw phase you can make them discard a card once per turn then it is pretty hard to get rid of and very easy to get out in the archetype

  • Is there any cards that continuously negate/floodgate other continuous spell and traps and or field spells ? I play cyber dragon on and realized that I don’t use any field or continuous cards but I get destroyed by floowandereze and eldlich and other dumb floodgates is usually held up by back row. Would be nice to have a non targeting negate for those annoying continuous back rows.

  • Hold the phone, Galaxy decks can consistently set up boards of Galaxy Lord, Cyber Dragon Infinity and their Link 2 that allows you to bounce your opponent’s monsters. That’s three disruptions, two of which are negates making it almost as powerful as Cyber Dragons especially with master rule 4-20 indirectly nerfing megafleet.

  • Emergeroid call is best used in a speedroid deck with mixeroid (A “roid” monster who just so happens to be wind attribute) who has a GY effect to fusion summon any roid monster by banishing materials from your GY equal to the level of the monster in the extradeck which you can use to fusion summon either Lv 12 “Barbaroid the Ultimate Battle Machine” for an OTK or Pair cycroid for easy access to the omni negate. TLDR: you have a small chance to get a solemn judgement with extra steps if you foolish mixeroid

  • @TheDuelLogs a card that could have made (even though its just monster negating) this list is Destiny Hero – Plasma, special summon from your hand by tributing 3 monsters you control, and negate all of your opponents monster effects while face up on the field, and once per turn, suck up a monster and gain half its original attack points.

  • I don’t really play yugioh. I mainly play modern magic and edh. I have a gimmicky red eyes deck because red eyes was my favorite monster when i first saw it in the early years of the show. That said you’re so underrated, and i hope your website only keeps growing to the point where you can say “fun fact; did you know 100% of people who watch my articles are subscribed to the website.”

  • I think solemn scolding is usable in blue eyes decks because they usually dont have cards in their spell and trapcard zones Lets see further more which cards are coming maybe even a handtrap I had trouble with a Herald of Ultimateness Lastly this is why i am perusal this i couldn’t do anything no summons no activating anything,..

  • No “Herald of Perfection”? That’s exactly what Herald of perfection does, you can negate any card Effect by simply discarding a fairy. Herald of perfection is the most annoying card in the game, and some people surrender when they see it, it’s also super easy to bring out in a ritual deck. Stardust dragon Assault mode should also be on here, it may be a little tough to bring out, but it negates any card effect like herald of perfection, and it revives itself at the end of the turn.

  • There just needs to be a hardcap on how many chains you can do with card effects per turn. Like a max of 3. This would still let you use monster, spell, and trap effects, just not ad infinitum to keep an unbeatable loop of shit going. That and a hard cap on how many resummons you can do. If a monster has been destroyed or removed from play more than 3 times, then it’s not allowed back in the rest of the match.

  • Gotta disagree with the lack of Cosmic Blazar Dragon representation. That crazy motherlover negates harder than anything mentioned in this article. Not only can it negate any card or effect, it negates summons and then just to make sure you’re properly negated can also negate an attack and end the battle phase.

  • Mannn what about Sheou? Pretty good omni negate and she just brings out her normal form afterwards instead of straight up disappearing from the field and it also has a good effect that summons every standby phase for free if theres any dragonmaids to summon. At least in my opinion sheou is top tier omni negate card but either way nice vid Edit: i did not see that this article was as old as it was i feel stupid now 😂

  • When players brings out regun red eyes card they believe they won the game, but I use a spell and trap burn deck, sure it can stop a card, but not all of them if you get all the burn cards in 1 big swoop you won the game regun red eyes weakness is burn effect, that’s why I run burn decks now an I won the tournament with it

  • what about nine pillars of yang zing its an omni negate that works perfectly with the archtype its part of since its activation cost forces you to destroy one of your own monsters which is perfect for the yang zing since they special summon each other from the deck when they are destroyed by battle or card effects

  • Hey man, I still don’t know your name or what to call you, but I’ve been binge perusal your articles for two months now, since I bought the Yu-Gi-Oh PS4 game and I wanted to say that I really enjoy your articles. I’m a noob and I can understand really well your explanations. Yu-Gi-Oh card texts are scary to beginners because they’re all long and confusing, but you make a great job of explaining everything.

  • You probably just forgot about it but if not… Why the fuck is a card like the top 10 and 9 on the list but not Vortex dragon you can bring out in ANY with level 7 monsters, tho granted mostly in Pendulum Decks and there he can be build every single time. It is kind of insulting that one of the easiest to make omni negates of pendulum is not on the list even tho it is even generic because of absolute dragon.

  • 00:07 Normal Spells 02:14 Ritual Spells 03:00 -Continuous Spell with a Continuous Effect: 03:25 -Continuous Spell with an On Activation Effect Ignition Like 05:14 -Continuous Spell with a while Face up Ignition like effect 5:53-Continuous Spell with a Separate Trigger Effect 06:26 Quick Play Spells 08:30 Equipment Spell 10:56 Field Spell 14:32 Graveyard effects of spell cards

  • Question. Lets say its my turn, and I have a quick play spell in my hand. My opponent has a continuous spell/trap face down that they set last turn, and they proceed to activate it during my turn. Am I able to react to that activation with the quick play spell in my hand, or would it have had to be on the board to counter it?
