A Scientific Investigation Into Astrology’S Veracity?

This paper aims to determine the universal rules and validity of astrology using various scientific methods, including ZeroR, Simple Cart, and Decision Table classification algorithms. The authors argue that science can test supernatural claims and does not presuppose Naturalism as an a priori commitment. In 2012, the General Social Survey found that 34% of Americans considered astrology to be “very” or “sort of scientific”, with a decrease from two-thirds to around 13%.

The McGrew and McFall experiment was designed to resolve a weakness identified in Shawn Carlson’s 1985 double-blind astrological chart matching experiment. Astrology cannot be tested by any available scientific method, and no test has ever succeeded because science is not developed yet. Modern scientific inquiry into astrology primarily focuses on drawing a correlation between astrological traditions and the influence of seasonal birth. Six astrologers attempted to match twenty-three astrological birth charts with biographical, psychological, and photographic information about the subject.

The paper asserts that astrology makes no claim that can be proven using scientific methods. Astrology’s validity rests on its ability to predict professions using various scientific methods. Scientific investigations into its validity are rarely seen by the public, and most in the scientific community regard astrology as a pseudoscience. The survival and longevity of astrology have been dependent on an astrological community that will not allow it to fail under no circumstances.

Who is the father of astrology?

Astrology in India has its roots in the Vedic period, with the Vedanga Jyotisha being the only work of this class to have survived. It contains rules for tracking the motions of the sun and moon in a five-year intercalation cycle. The date of this work is uncertain, as its late style of language and composition conflict with some internal evidence of a much earlier date in the 2nd millennium BC. Indian astronomy and astrology developed together, with the earliest treatise on Jyotisha, the Bhrigu Samhita, compiled by the sage Bhrigu during the Vedic era.

The documented history of Jyotisha in the subsequent newer sense of modern horoscopic astrology is associated with the interaction of Indian and Hellenistic cultures through the Greco-Bactrian and Indo-Greek Kingdoms. The oldest surviving treatises, such as the Yavanajataka or Brihat-Samhita, date to the early centuries AD. The Samhita (Compilation) is said to contain five million horoscopes, comprising all who have lived in the past or will live in the future. The first named authors writing treatises on astronomy are from the 5th century AD, the date when the classical period of Indian astronomy can be said to begin.

What are the 12 science of zodiac?

The zodiac is a belt-shaped region of the sky that extends approximately 8° north and south of the ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun across the celestial sphere over the course of the year. It is divided along the ecliptic into 12 equal parts, each occupying 30° of celestial longitude, and roughly corresponds to the astronomical constellations Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

The signs have been used to determine the time of the year by identifying each sign with the days of the year the Sun is in the respective sign. The zodiacal system, which has an angular measurement of 360 sexagesimal degree, originated with Babylonian astronomy during the 1st millennium BC and was communicated into Greek astronomy by the 2nd century BC. The zodiac forms a celestial coordinate system, specifically an ecliptic coordinate system, which takes the ecliptic as the origin of latitude and the Sun’s position at the vernal equinox as the origin of longitude.

How to identify a fake astrologer?

In astrology, it is crucial to choose an astrologer who follows ethical practices and doesn’t exploit vulnerabilities. Trustworthy astrologers focus on providing guidance rather than instilling fear. Reviews and testimonials from others who have consulted the same astrologer can provide valuable information about the astrologer’s reliability and accuracy. Many reputable astrologers offer trial sessions or consultations at a lower cost, allowing individuals to experience their approach firsthand without a significant financial commitment. The upcoming Astro event “The Open Mind Astro Summit 2023” organized by The Times of India will provide more insight into how astrology helps us grow in life and how to use its magic in our favor.

How true is astrology?

Astrology, a long-standing scientific field, has been criticized for lacking clear evidence that stars and planets affect us. Astrology relies on stories and ideas that are difficult to prove with science, as it relies on guessing about patterns in the sky rather than conducting experiments. Additionally, astrology’s workings are based on old ideas about the universe, which have evolved over time. This has led to some astrologers’ predictions not aligning with current knowledge.

For example, the zodiac sign may not be accurate due to precession, which has caused stars to move since the first invention of astrology. Furthermore, astrology lacks a clear explanation for how stars and planets could affect us, with some astrologers suggesting it is due to the stars, but scientists argue these theories are too weak to have a significant impact on us.

How does astrology work scientifically?

How does astrology work scientifically?

Astrology claims that astronomical bodies have influence on people’s lives beyond basic weather patterns, depending on their birth date. However, this claim is scientifically false. Numerous studies have disproven that astronomical bodies affect people’s lives according to their birth date. For instance, Peter Hartmann and his collaborators studied over 4000 individuals and found no correlation between birth date and personality or intelligence.

In one famous experiment, Shawn Carlson fine-tuned the method so that various independent scientists agreed it was scientifically sound and fair. As published in Nature, he found that the astrologers could do no better at predicting the future than random chance.

Fundamentally, there are four forces of nature: gravity, electromagnetism, the strong nuclear force, and the weak nuclear force. If an object affects a person, it must do so by interacting through one of these fundamental forces. For example, strong acid burns skin because the electromagnetic fields in the acid pull strongly enough on your skin molecules that they rip apart. A falling rock crushes you because gravity pulls it onto you. A nuclear bomb will vaporize you because of nuclear forces.

Each of the fundamental forces can be very strong, but they all die off with distance. Electromagnetic forces typically extend from nanometers to kilometers. Sensitive equipment can detect electromagnetic waves (light) from the edge of the observable universe, but that light is exceptionally weak.

The placebo effect is a psychological effect that makes people feel better when they believe in a useless method. This effect has been scientifically verified, and many pseudo-scientific treatments, such as crystal healing and homeopathy, help people through the placebo effect. Sticking to scientifically proven treatments gives the benefit of the belief and the benefit of the treatment’s action. For example, instead of reading a horoscope each morning, going for a walk is proven to be good for body and mind, and your belief in its effect will also help you.

In conclusion, astrology and other natural phenomena have no significant impact on people’s lives beyond basic weather patterns. Astrology, on the other hand, relies on the placebo effect, where the belief in a treatment does not actually make a person feel better.

What is the study of the zodiac?

What is the study of the zodiac?

Astrology is a form of divination that involves forecasting earthly and human events through the observation and interpretation of fixed stars, the Sun, the Moon, and the planets. It is believed that understanding the influence of these celestial bodies on earthly affairs allows them to predict and affect the destinies of individuals, groups, and nations. Astrology is based on the assumption that celestial bodies, particularly planets and stars, determine or indicate changes in the sublunar world. This theory is rooted in Hellenistic philosophy and distinguishes it from the celestial omina, which were first categorized and cataloged in ancient Mesopotamia.

Astrologers initially presupposed a geocentric universe, with planets and stars orbiting around the Earth’s center. Later, Aristotelian physics principles were adopted, dividing the eternal, circular motions of the heavenly element into the limited, linear motions of the four sublunar elements: fire, air, water, and earth. Special relations were believed to exist between celestial bodies and their motions, configurations, and processes of generation and decay. These relations were often considered complex, making astrologers more likely to make errors.

Platonic astrologers believed in divine intervention in natural processes through celestial influences upon the Earth, as they believed in the deity’s creation of the celestial bodies themselves.

Does astrology have any scientific validity?

Does astrology have any scientific validity?

Astrology has been largely abandoned in scientific studies due to its inability to establish the validity of its ideas. Researchers, on the other hand, are more focused on testing their own ideas and presenting counterarguments and alternative hypotheses. Astrologers, on the other hand, do not rigorously examine their astrological ideas, leading to a minimal level of research and a lack of critical evaluation of their arguments. Astrology is not a scientific method to answer questions, as it does not attempt to critically evaluate the validity of its explanations against natural evidence.

This is a crucial aspect of science, where scientists evaluate their ideas against natural evidence and reject or modify them when evidence does not support them. Astrologers, on the other hand, do not take the same critical perspective on their own astrological ideas.

What is the scientific inquiry of astrology?

What is the scientific inquiry of astrology?

Astrology is a belief system that suggests a connection between astronomical phenomena and human events or personality descriptions. However, it has been criticized by the scientific community for lacking explanatory power and lack of scientific validity. Scientific testing has found no evidence to support the premises or effects outlined in astrological traditions. The most famous test, led by Shawn Carlson, concluded that natal astrology performed no better than chance.

Astrology has not demonstrated its effectiveness in controlled studies and has no scientific validity, making it regarded as pseudoscience. There is no proposed mechanism by which stars and planets affect people and events on Earth in the way astrologers claim, which contradicts well-understood aspects of biology and physics.

Why do people believe in astrology?

Astrology is a tool for understanding one’s self-identity and self-conception. According to Jennifer Freed, PhD, it serves as a validation for one’s unique gifts and provides confirmation and encouragement. Astrology is likened to a beautiful staircase, where one must walk mindfully and hold onto a solid foundation. Humans tend to remember positive feedback that validates their self-conception over negative feedback, making it easy to accept the ambiguous and positive aspects of astrology. This approach helps individuals develop their unique gifts and take mindful steps towards self-discovery.

Who is the father of scientific astrology?

Alan Leo (born William Frederick Allan) was a prominent British astrologer, author, publisher, astrological data collector, and theosophist, often regarded as the “father of modern astrology.”

  • It can be dangerous in many ways for some people. My mother was very new age hippy type and belived in astrology. Starting at age 8 I became moody, especially depressed. She would just say, “you’re a gemni thats how you are.” Needles to say my teen years were very turbulent and in my 20s I did a second attempt on myself and was admitted for mental health treatment. I am bipolar. It could have and should have been treated when I was younger….but because of my sign my mother brushed it all off.

  • As someone who studied Psychology I think you laid out a lot of the research and scientific method very well. I do “believe” in astrology, though by belief I mean that I was very interested in it as a teenager when I was making sense of myself and those around me. It still plays a special place in my heart but I do take it with a grain of salt. I enjoy reading into it but I wouldn’t claim it as scientific. I’ve always been a bit stuck between my education and belief. I think you’re points and arguments are very valid and I think it’s okay if we want to spend time analyzing the world around us, which I think is what astrology gives people. 🙂 I like your website because we need to analyze from many different lenses!

  • Sorry this took so long to make this… it’s been 2 months since I last posted and this article took probably a month of that and the other month I’ve been working on 2 other deep dive articles that I’m very excited about! (also I’m lazy and good at procrastination) But I hope whether you’re into astrology or a skeptic or know nothing about it, you can get something out of this article. I’ve wanted to make this article since I was traveling in my van over 2 years ago because, like mentioned in the article, I didn’t really know much about astrology but wanted to understand why people believe it since my personal experience did not make me believe it was accurate. If this article offends you, you’re taking this all wayyy too seriously. I was really surprised how many people seemed offended or mad that I wanted to make a article about astrology in my community post. If people who believe in astrology are able to make articles about it, someone who doesn’t believe in it but wants to do research and is open to having their mind changed should be able to as well. I’m not making this because it’s a trendy topic and I think it’ll get a lot of views. I didn’t even know astrology was trendy right now nor do I think I’ll even make a profit from this article considering how much I spent (around $70) getting the birth charts done. And I did not go into this wanting a certain outcome. I have changed many of my beliefs over the past couple years when presented with new information and evidence and there’s no reason for me to treat my views on astrology any differently that other beliefs I have had.

  • as someone in that 2% using it for self reflection, personal examination, etc, I want to talk about your depiction of my group- I think you may have misunderstood some of our motivations! You said “believing in astrology because its helpful, is kind of similar to a wishful thinking fallacy.” and then you mentioned that just because someone offers advice, doesn’t mean we should take it. (which I agree with!) You then went on to give an example of your horoscope from an app being wrong for you, and that natal charts aren’t always accurate. Here is where I think you mischaracterized us. I don’t go to astrology because I’m looking for advice, or an entirely new input on what I need to do. I see it kind of like a set of poetic tools or stencils. When I read that the moon is in Aries, (as it was this past week) and I open a newsletter by one of my favorite writer astrologers, J. Kadlec, saying “This moon arrives on the heels of the second Mars-Saturn square, a moment of incredible friction from earlier in the week that likely brought up themes from late August. It arrives as Saturn has stationed direct, bringing our responsibilities and the life structures that need tinkering back to the forefront.” – I don’t take this as some kind of Word of God thundering invocation into my life. It is a door to the interior – a shortcut to thinking about what is going on in my life, my mental life, and to things that can live under the surface while we are up and dealing with the day to day stuff.

  • I personnel think that astrology is great for inner reflexion if you use the signs and the planets as SYMBOLS. Same go for tarot reading and etc. I think it can be a great tool if you want to see different perspectives about your life and/or if you want to associate a certain trait with a symbol so you can feel more empowered to carry in with you in your life

  • Yes please make a article on psychics too! That would be really interesting to hear. I was into tarot cards for a while – even hired a tarot teacher – went for psychic and energy workshops, all of that to realise that I could not accept money from people wanting to pay me for my tarot readings. That was the first sign – among others – that I believe something was truly wrong with the idea of paying someone so that they could tell you – based on THEIR gut feelings/intuition/ascended masters/ancestors etc etc etc – what the future holds for you, what YOU should do about a personal dilemma, etc… On the other end, I also have witnessed mediums in crowds giving people’s grandmothers first names to the actual person they were talking to – some people will say that it was all staged. I had a reading with the same medium and found that most of the things that she said sounded true which was very odd – only a couple of very specific though. So I do have to say that I’m not black and white when it comes to most subjects and even though it does sound like I’m against psychic stuff in general I do believe – myself included and not in an arrogant way – that some of us have what I now called a very strong intuition and can read people better than others can which I personally think biology can explain. Sorry very long message but just to say that your articles are awesome and I’m looking forward to that one!

  • What are these comments? It seems astrology just gets needlessly more and more complex the more someone says they don’t believe in it. I get people want to believe in things and find answers to explain things we cannot understand but there’s no merit or evidence to substantiate western astrology. Great article! You really put a ton a work into this and I greatly enjoyed it all ❤️

  • I love this! Very logical approach. I appreciate the hard work! Honestly I use tarot and astrology for fun. I would never make legitimate decisions on these verdicates. But I do think they can be great when looking at yourself. I have a book I use for my tarot cards that makes me journal. It is very hippieish but I like it cause it because it makes me ask myself questions rather than give me definite answers. In return I become more hopeful for the future because it triggers to think of more possibilities. I’m a planner so I love thinking what the next thing I could do will be. I use it to challenge myself and how I can better myself. Basically taking it with a grain of salt. Recently had a reading about collaborating. So I started reaching out with friends to do art projects. I typically like to work alone but because I had started asking myself would I like to work in groups outside of school it led me to do something out of character. Nothing “set in the stars” just pushing me to think outside of what I might of before. Astrology is similar. I would resonate with the positive charastics and push to be more like this qualities. The sign doesn’t define me because it’s made up. But me seeing I love cooking, being kind and empathetic, etcetera led me to push to be better that those things. Basically made me look at what I like about myself and amplify these qualities.

  • Coming from someone who’s had a share in beliefs (religion, African-based spirituality, LoA, twin flames, I don’t wanna bore you with more).. I’ve found it healthier to say, “even if such is true – how useful would it be to know”. I.e even if the stars & galaxies affect my personality so much, or tarot cards can predict the future: will it change my personality or future? Knowing it becomes a “ok cool, so then what”.

  • The reading that you got was not a good one. This was a ‘copy paste’ from a collection of the meanings of different placements. That is not an accurate astrology reading. A good reading would include your natal chart as a whole also looking at aspects. Sadly you didn’t get a ‘real’ astrology reading.

  • thank you so much for this detailed analisys. I still havent seen the whole article, but i just wanted to say that I am aligned with astrology. For me, the energies of the universe are all connected and they interact with each other. Astrology is based on the earth perspective, same thing as the moon with different phases affecting the waves of the ocean, the births and other events on earth, because of gravity, attraction and because we are all made of the same elements, just manifested in different forms. That is what happens with the other planets/stars and astrology interpretations, because each of them influence the elements we have on a physical, mental, emotional and energetical level.

  • One of the reasons I think astrology is useful and is helpful for self development is that it provides a model which allows you to reflect on yourself. So whether a certain statement is “true” or “untrue” it’s still shining a light on yourself and asking you to see yourself. It helps you develop and understanding on yourself just by asking you to look at yourself. It’s like looking at a fun house mirror, yes you can recognize yourself in it in an abstract way – but it’s only amusing because you can tell how distorted the reflection is. But regardless if you are someone who has never looked at yourself at all, a “fun house mirror” is good motivation to do so! The outline astrology provides gives you a map of all kinds of aspects and behavioral patterns you may not even think of reflecting on otherwise. If they were never drawn up for you, you may never even think about how you actually are.

  • I love this! It’s obvious you did your homework. You are so honest with yourself and your viewers and I can’t wait to see your other articles. A lot of logical fallacies are present in many people’s arguments but I’m still skeptical when it comes to science on the other side. I don’t believe in astrology but I don’t trust most scientists. I can’t explain why, but I don’t control what I believe once I’ve heard all that’s out there. article essays are one of my favorite formats of media-consumption, and it seems like you’re pretty good at it. The only complaint I have is that sometimes your work is wanting for conciseness (which I totally understand as an English major), but I see why you want to fully explore your ideas. I’m excited to see what you choose to evaluate next. I’m going to be honest; I’m only a little over halfway through the article and I might not finish until tomorrow because of how late it is.

  • I used to believe in astrology to the point of having insecurities about my sun sign. Now I see how crazy it was XD Thank God I was self aware enough to say to myself WHAT THE HELL GIRL and started questioning my beliefs. I’ve been thinking about astrology, zodiacs and all the other things for a few weeks now and I am really grateful for this article because it helped me to look at the topic from more scientific point of view. In my life spirituality is crucial but when certain aspects start to make me feel so bad as zodiac signs would, it is time to take a step back. Thanks, Anna! Blessings, love you!

  • Of course theres no scientific measurement. It is a study of cycles of planents over centuries and how that links to humans and everything as a whole. Just like theres no scientifc meansurement of ‘god’. Science = measurement – you cant measure philosophical ideas. Theres plenty of things that cant be measured but it doesnt mean they arent valuable. Both logic and philosphy can both exist it doesnt have to be science VS… science is just measurement of what exists, nothing beyond.

  • I think that this renewed interest in astrology is part of the internet’s or this generation’s “personality type” obsession. So this includes mbti, temperaments, enneagram and d&d alignment charts (for some reason). That said, you don’t have to address this, but I am actually curious about your thoughts on personality types and online tests, specifically mbti, because it’s really the most popular, or even the other personality type tests I mentioned above. Like do you think some of them have the same problems with astrology, or do they have basis, but many people like to oversimplify them?

  • As someone who believes and practices astrology this is the most comprehensive and respectful skeptical article I’ve seen so far. I personnally like it because it’s a way to get interested in others and theirs lives. I grew in believing in it because of multiple weird coincidences I had but sure it’s not scientific proof. However I could say that Astrology is not comparable to hard sciences but more to social sciences. For example psychotherapists don’t agree on everything and have different references, a different therapist could tell you different things on yourself. Some would refer to Freud, other to Jung does it mean psychology is false? Same for sociology or economy different politicians can elect theories they like best to justify their actions. Also not believing in astrology could also imply confirmation biases. For example you will look more into statements you find false about yourself in your reading than the true ones. You could as well over-estimate Barnum statements without realising it. Because it’s a matter of judgement it’s hard to really perceive what’s true or not. In my opinion it’s ok to let people decide what they believe or not. Astrology doesn’t hurt anybody as long as it remains in a healthy relationship to one’s life. I think whatever you choose to believe in or not it’s important to remember the logical and realistic cause of each event. Blaming mercury retrograde for everything won’t help you.

  • I am a believer in astrology, I will say that first because I would say some people might deem my bias before they read the rest of my comment. I really like this article. It’s thorough, unique and extremely interesting. I have done my own chart, used apps and also, used computer generated charts. I’ve never paid for one. I would really be interested in doing so but I digress. I completely see your point in the confirmation bias- automatically saying something works because they believe what the stars say are correct because they see the positive or negative traits within themselves but hearing you break down how some statements are blanket traits and some are specific was SO much fun. I love to watch articles that challenge my beliefs and though it didn’t change my mind and make me stop saying “I’m such a cancer” or “makes sense, I’m a Pisces rising”, I can agree with almost everything you said. At the end of the day, charts are fun but my chart is riddled with inaccuracies. I’ve had tarot or palm readers tell me I must have a lot of Sagittarius in my chart because I am obsessed with freedom and travel or I must have a lot of Gemini in my chart because I’m “changeable” while in reality, I have one Sagg placement and I believe one or no Gemini placements. Thank you for posting such interesting content and I love how long the articles are. You are so researched and I value that. You’re one of my favorite content creators, up there with unnaturalvegan.

  • Thank you for this article Anna! Lately I’ve been drawn towards questioning what I believe and why. This came at a great time! There’s another website called TheraminTrees which I think you may enjoy. Side note, I’m pretty fed up with people using horoscopes as excuses for their behaviour and also judging others so quickly because of their sun sign. (I know not everyone who believes this does this) I love how you communicate information, I found it easy to listen to and understand and the time flew by! Thanks again, we need more articles in this style on youtube.

  • My story begins with religion, then getting out of religion, then getting out of religious beliefs, then discovering Tarot and Magick and all of the stuff around that. Finally, I became an atheist and put all of it behind me. I was really into Tarot as a means of “self discovery”, always telling people and convincing myself that I was using Tarot not to divine the future, but to “learn about myself”. Studying the archetypes was interesting, but beyond that, I started to feel like using the cards would affect my mood in ways I didn’t like, especially if I did a draw where the cards were “negative” cards. I finally came to the conclusion that the cards were not helping me in my daily life – in fact they were more often than not a hinderance to having a healthy mindset. I slowly reduced my use of them until I just put them away for good. Putting your trust in random oracles may seem like a way to finding yourself, but in reality they don’t really do anything other than sow confusion, especially when the cards lead you to make connections and come to conclusions that aren’t really accurate. If you want to “know thyself” then get with a professional, licensed therapist who can help you in ways that aren’t random, confusing, and generally have nothing to do with your reality other than you trying to fit your “story” onto what the cards/horoscope/tea leaves are “saying”. The cards can be just another crutch, another reason for you to make assumptions and attach feelings to what you believe you read in the cards, when in reality they mean absolutely nothing – and taking them to mean certain things can be detrimental to you, and to those around you whom you ascribe “messages” from the cards as well.

  • Most of my birth chart information from astrology actually worked for me but I do think you have a point! I moreso see astrology as a fun tool to explore and study different archetypes of the sign and see how I relate to each of them. It helps me a lot in seeing how I perceive myself since when I read my chart, I noticed my interpretation comes from my own self-perceptions. However, I do think it’s best to not blindly believe that you are your chart and it’s better to read it with a grain of salt. I don’t think it’s also good to use that for compatibility and excuses for our behavior since ultimately, it’s our choice to behave in such a way and it’s up to us how to handle relationships, not a chart. Though it might give us a false sense of self, I still think it’s interesting to see how we define our own self-concept (I don’t ask people to read my chart since I feel like they interpret it based on their own perceptions of the signs which might be different from how I perceive my own chart). And whether it can predict events or not, personally, I think it’s better for me not to know my future lol. I can say I’m 50:50 when it comes to astrology. I just take what works and leave what doesn’t. It’s just an interesting idea or concept that gives me more insights on my own self-perception. But I’m definitely not gonna believe that my birth chart defines me or my identity. Thank you for this wonderful article! 💯💛 I think a healthy dose of skepticism even if astrology works for you can help you not be too attached to it being the full truth of who you are.

  • We have so many layers to our beings and perception of reality. How we perceive ourselves ultimately shapes it. If one identifies as a capricorn, rising scorpio and moon leo for eg, they begin to mimic those traits based on the knowledge theyve gathered around those personality traits. Everybody wants to feel belonged and part of a movement and groups, so tribes and knowing thyself makes us feel more conscious (woke/aware). Stars are a guide to our core frequency and a map to the sky just as everything around us can influence our behaviour. Nevertheless we are limitless multidimensional beings that can cocreate new realities. Astrology is merely a fraction of who we are just as the sun and moon influences your mood, star charts or not, you are your own creator of this dimension. Some people just need some form of identity for their ego because it makes em feel special and seen.

  • The day I started going through my spiritual beliefs looking for logical fallacies and logical deductions was a mind-blowing journey that hasn’t ended. I believe God exists. This one argument I take at face value. From there I start to examine my beliefs with logic. If it is illogical, I start looking at its roots, scriptural basis, scientific validity (if science is involved). If I found the belief was just relative and illogical … flush. I’d rather have a small world view of things I believe that logical, are rational, have scriptural roots, than believe a ton of stuff I confess makes zero sense and has no real historical basis. That’s a spirituality that is all about perpetuating lies.

  • I feel what you discussed could be applied to card readings. We take what we want from the reading and disregard what doesn’t serve us. I would love for more analyses in more of the new age stuff especially since I think there are more con artists than ever now since anyone and everyone can be an expert…

  • As a anthropological student and graduate, your work on this subject was quite objective and investigative. Truly we can hardly comprehend collective or individual human existence but only examine it from many perspectives and weigh the from our own experiences and cultural glasses. Thanks for your analysis, Anna

  • AAAAAAA she’s a gemini! Me too! 😝 I enjoy astrology the same way I enjoy the wizarding world of Harry Potter, learning about time travel theories, and mythology, etc… I do not believe in them, but they are fascinating, fun and fantastical. Anyway, I just found your website and I’m L💗VING it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your content. It’s been great for binging during housework and long drives.

  • I love this article, I relate to the season you seem to be in through exploring beliefs and researching like crazy! I honestly would love to have a cup of tea and debate/talk. Hard conversations are my favourite with well reasoned arguments are my favourite:) This article was very well done, didn’t agree with everything tbh, but I appreciated all of it. I’m still discovering where I sit, personally, I find my natal chart highly intune to me, when I look at each placement and what that’s meant to affect/influence. I think I also believe in God but I’m the first to support science and research and by no means do I believe everything in the bible. I believe in science, I believe in proper arguments and scientific theory. And as of yet haven’t found super compelling ‘evidence’ for religious or spiritual practices yet, that would hold up in stringent debate. I also think that is because, there hasn’t been a huge amount of unbiased exercises performed. What I mean is, often there is a religion vs science divide, which leads to argument based discovery instead of discovery based discovery. To kind of contradict, I also hold the view that if something ‘beyond us’ was at play, and influencing us and our individual lives, it probably wouldn’t quantify with our scientific methods anyhow? ‘Everyone faces challenges in their lives’ is something that is true for me, true for everybody, could be proven true physically in the body, to socially, financially, etc. but I havent seen a survey on challenges i face, what quantifies a challenge, or whose challenge is greater. That, is how I currently understand astrology. I hope you keep making articles with so much passion about these issues and loads more, I like the practical approach that seems to be a rarity when approached without agenda. (sorry for the weird probably incoherent and contradictory rant, have a fab day <3) xxx

  • I loved the whole article and I use astrology, tarot cards and stuff as a tool for reflection, because it often confronts me with something I wouldn’t be able to if it was just in my mind and not on paper if that makes sense? as to the moon, I have more personal experiences f.e. the menstruation part, I can’t remember where I stumbled upon it but I read different cultures had ‘bleeding tents’ for the women on their period and it was common to bleed on new moon and ovulate on full moon. Since I have a chronic illness (endometriosis) I observe my body a lot more and saw that I always bleed on full moons and tracking the because I just needed to know when the full moon is. apparently you can change that with artificial light but I haven’t tried that. I then asked my friends to observe, but just the ones without hormonal contraception and they all tended to bleed around a full or new moon. (it is said that full moon periods are more painful, seems to be right for me). could be a coincidence though. being a farm girl and talking to other farmers there is a difference in animals behaviours and how plants grow etc. but I don’t want to write too much here, it’s just really interesting in my opinion and worth observing. I was just thinking about all that because of the womens app you mentioned that asked around and there was no info on if the women they asked used hormones (and as a vegan you know we have all kinds of hormones in our food that might affect us as well). there are studies that link the microbiome of our intestines to how risky we are, certain parasites that have the ability to manipulate us and so I think there is definetly more to our personalities than the stars we are born in.

  • Huh, this article was awesome! I’m so glad I sat it through in one go. I like that you mentioned the scientific method in the beggining, I attend university and I would like to tell you, it was very well explained and incorporated all the important aspects. I found this article to be very mature and exhaustive, and I really enjoyed every second of it. In my opinion, this was truly worth the long wait:) Looking forward to your next upload!

  • Here is the really BIG problem I have with astrology – your Sun sign is defined as what constellation the Sun was in in the sky, when observed at the time and location of your birth. The problem is, all of the astrological signs were established in Babylonian times, and the Earth has a bit of a wobble, so our view of the sky has changed in 4000 years. – so say you were born in the year 1995, and you are a Capricorn, then if we magically went back to the time and place of your birth, and looked up in the sky, the Sun should have been in the constellation of Capricorn, the problem is, it WASN’T, it was in Sagittarius! – So how could the Capricorn traits even be about you? – Astrologers have no good answer to this fundamental flaw in their belief.

  • Re the Gauquelin Mars Effect. Professor Paul Kurtz was very disturbed by the many sun sign columns that appeared in newspapers and magazines in the late 60s. He was inspired to start an organisation, CSICOP in 1976 to debunk astrology and other paranormal claims. In France, Michel Gauquelin was producing remarkable results and Kurtz set about disproving him by conducting an experiment on US sports stars which he assumed would show no significant Mars effect. Gauquelin warned Kurtz that his Mars effect did not work for basketball players. This may have been because height was a major factor in selection and this limited the pool of potential athletes. Also, Gauquelin advised the effect only showed up in top athletes. Despite being advised of this Kurtz deliberately chose basketball players and many sports performers who were not at the top of their field. By doing this he got a reverse Mars effect that was statistically significant. It turns out that Kurtz had cheated in his avid desire to debunk astrology. Testimony to this can be found by Dr Dennis Rawlins, an astronomer and co-founder of CSICOP with Kurtz. He was asked to do the technical calculations and was outraged when he discovered that Kurtz had falsified the results. see cura.free.fr/xv/14starbb.html for his account. Kurtz’s cheating is also reported by arch sceptic Geoffrey Dean in his book Astrology Under Scrutiny. It turns out that when the data was reanalysed by Professor Suitbert Ertel (a sceptical scientist not an astrologer) and Ken Irving an astrologer, Gauquelin’s Mars effect was replicated in the US sports data.

  • progressive millennials and gen z’ers: racism is bad, discrimination is bad, misogyny is bad, class hierarchies are bad, organized religion is oppressive. we shouldn’t treat people with bigotry based on where they come from, who they love, or how they look also progressive millenials and gen z’ers: omg he’s a leo i can’t date him

  • i really appreciate your point of view as well as the effort and research you’ve done to make this article. I had one thought come up when you were categorizing other peoples reasons for believing in astrology into different fallacies. I believe that the scientific method is a useful tool for understanding this physical universe in which we live. However, it cannot prove the existence of spirituality as that is an individual experience and not recreate-able for use with the scientific method. I personally am a relativist in the sense that i believe each persons truth is true for them. If you base all your understanding of this world on the physical science of it all, then that is your truth and what will make sense to you. But, i personally do not do this. I have had experiences on psychedelics and in meditation that cannot be proven or explained with scientific principles and yet it changed my life forever. I believe the fault in your argument is that you believe that the scientific method is the best way to determine truth, which is a choice and an opinion in and of itself. i personally consider myself a more spiritually based person and thats been my guiding force in life. I do not care much for scientific methods and such as it doesn’t spark interest for me. i am much more interested in learning about people’s individual experiences and how thats shaped them or what i can learn from them. You mentioned Buddhism and all other religions not being able to be true at the same time but i disagree. I believe that since individual experiences and truth is always relative, in one persons universe, Christianity is true because its how they choose to see the world. I used to think that way until i came to the conclusion that it didn’t stack up for me and my experience so i left it behind and dove more deeply into eastern spirituality. Buddhism is literally saying: nothing exists except for your experience. This breath, this body, this moment is all that exists and we do not need to idolize one individual or listen to a certain book for knowledge, there is divinity everywhere and its a question of if we have the eyes to see it and the heart to become aware. If you only value the western understanding of physical universe based science then that is the only truth you will value and pay mind to. However, there is a complex spiritual world existing beyond the veil of our physical perceptions that holds great mysteries and understanding but according to the way you choose to evaluate your experience, you would pass it by and not pay it any mind. My point is, if you even happen to read this comment, is that i think youre very intelligent and i would love to get a coffee and chat sometime about the nature of the universe according to all the peer reviewed articles and then slip come DMT in your mug and see what you have to say about the nature of the universe once you have a chance to venture beyond the world in which we have been trapped our whole lives. Please keep making articles i really enjoy your honesty and your sincerity and i hope one day to begin to make my own content as engaging and interesting as your articles. <3 Peace and love always

  • One thing I’d like to add the scientific methods outline (6:48): “Try to disprove your hypothesis as many ways you can. Document this.”. I think this is the most important point which makes difference between pseudo-science and real science. In other words, pesudo-scientist wants to prove his/her hypothesis, while real one tries to disprove his/her one.

  • Personally, I think of Astrology as an esoteric tool meant to help one understand themselves. Not specifically speaking to you, but I personally hate when Buzzfeed Quizes and Horoscopes are brought up as examples during a contrarian or a supportive analysis on Astrology, because those are generalized forecast/ideas that don’t always reflect on an individualized experience. It also doesn’t help that people base one’s idea of Astrology on stereotypes of the astrological signs (aka Sun sign), when one must consider are so many “planetary placements” and transits. The latter part would require a years of studies or a professional Astrologer’s expertise. Lastly, I also don’t agree with anyone who uses it to either judge other people, or to gaslight them for their faults. So, I can see why it can have a negative affect on one’s ability to think objectively. But this is when it is not practice in a healthy way. I loves Astrology. It is fun. If it is a practice that is used in a healthy way, then I don’t see the problem with it. But, I respect your analysis

  • I believed in astrology hardcore for a long time. I`m a Sagittarius sun, Virgo moon & Virgo rising. I do somewhat identify with Sagittarius (but every single website/quiz/etc. blurb about Sag says I’m obsessed with traveling and refuse to settle, which couldn’t be farther from the truth. Traveling sounds like fun but I haven’t done much of it and it’s certainly not a priority), but not at all with my moon & rising sign. I think as humans we’re always looking for meaning in things because we wish so badly for there to be a “bigger picture” or a bigger meaning of life. It’s our nature. There’s nothing wrong with using it for fun or self-reflection but I also think it’s important to question everything and not let yourself get boxed in to labels. Thank you for this article!

  • Tropical is aligned with the solstices and equinoxes. Solstices happen four times a year no matter which hemisphere you are in. Winter in the Northern Hemisphere is harsh. Summer in the Southern Hemisphere is harsh in a different way. Also… this is an issue of DIALECTICS. Two things that seem to be opposites can still both be true. Western and Vedic astrology can seemingly be in opposition in their approach but still both provide accurate and helpful guidance.

  • After perusal this and thinking about it I think Astrology is something that can be fun and can genuinely help people to discover qualities in themselves that they didn’t think they had, but it could also be harmful. I have BPD and one symptom I experience is not being sure of any of my qualities and not being able to describe anything about myself. For example, I could fill out a personality test one week and then look at the answers a week later and feel like none of the answers describe me. I find a lot of people who struggle with this (or other similar issues) are the type of people who are into astrology, maybe because it provides them with a sort of baseline to refer to when they think about themselves, and it’s important to have a sense of identity. This is one of the reasons I really dislike mainstream astrology and how people insist that certain signs have qualities like being fake, manipulative, or cold, which makes up a large part of the memes and discussion around astrology I see in online communities. I feel lucky that my sign isn’t one of the ones that are constantly bashed on (like Gemini, Scorpio, Leo to an extent, etc.) or I might have a worse opinion of myself. All of that aside, it can definitely be fun to indulge in the fun parts of astrology, and I think it’s perfectly fine to allow yourself a bit of magical thinking (or “spirituality”) if it isn’t impairing your functioning. I wish astrology would exit the mainstream though.

  • As a practicing astrologer, I appreciate this :). I learned from you to not base the validity of astrology on the planets location in the sky. Thanks to your research, i will try to look at it in context of time (month, day, hour, year) – rather than just on earths perspective (which changes). In a study like astrology, it’s so easy to bring cognitive biases into it. Trying to avoid those is the biggest challenge. I try to start out with a clean slate when observing someone. I see how they navigate and relate to the world. How they react, engage and show up. Once I have a conclusion, I’ll ask them their sign and if their comfortable, for the rest of their story. When I’m right (without asking), I know that we’re getting somewhere. It will take a lifetime of observation, humility and discovery to really understand this. But I will certainly try haha. Astrology is 100% intuitive, and the contexts we have now are merely a guideline to help interpret energy. I don’t know if I believe in astrology. But I do believe in predictability, order, systems and synchronicity – even in beings as complex as humans. I don’t try to predict the future for anyone though. That’s dangerous business & self fulfilling prophecies are all too real. Thank you for your research, Anna!

  • Very impressive article! I’m happy you included the differences in people’s chronotype in link to season of birth. And thanks for being open minded and objective. I come from a skeptical, atheist family but was drawn to astrology for the esthetics and also my very anxious personality. Astrology, or any religious belief, in my opinion (and from what I’ve observed in myself and others), give people a securing grid through which sense can be made of a otherwise seemingly chaotic universe. As with my Ocd, the credit I give to astrology always ramps up when I am overwhelmed by life and feel completely out of control. The Imaginary scaffolding is reassuring but also becomes a cage. I always joke that religious ritual is simply a shared Ocd. As for Tarot witch is also very “fashionable” these days, I think the attraction is also the archetypes and visual patterns that are pleasing. As I draw on people for a living, I know the strength of symbols one can identify with. There is a true placebo effect in belief, not to be taken lightly (people live and die for ideology’s sake since the dawn of time). I wish I was immune to it, some people seem to be, but I unfortunately am not. Thanks again from France for the very informative article.

  • It’s really hard to parse out cause and effect. A good example of this is the stock market, it is not totally random, but smart people have lost large amounts of money gambling on the market. People are not very good critical thinkers. I see people losing money in gambling casinos and as they play the article slot machines they seem almost in a daze. No the odds do not favor them. Looking at the world in an objective manner is difficult to do. We do have biases. I think she hits on a good point with truth relativism and how there is no way to debate this point of view. STOP. You can believe the earth is flat, but you are wrong, there is no truth relativism involved; it is a false belief. Truth relativism is easy as a philosophical belief system. But that’s the only thing it has to offer.

  • I keep coming back to watch this article again! This is like the third time lol. I remember I got so tired of people at work asking me what my sign is and then saying “ohhh, you’re not like a Gemini; you’re not bossy or two-faced at all,” or “oh now I can’t talk to you.” I get that it’s just fun for them, but some of them would begin to think about me differently and I wonder how often they’ve misinterpreted my intentions because I’m a Gemini. I love space and I love studying the stars and the planets but it feels like scientists only look to space to prove something they’ve already decided is true, while astrologers try to convince us that the stars and planets influence our lives based almost entirely on personal testimony and invalid astronomy from thousands of years ago. Why can’t the norm be a genuine observation of the heavenly bodies without so much bias and irrationality? It feels like when I was in biology and instead of telling me anything about how the animals behave and how their organs function, they told me about all the theories of evolution and all the arguments against intelligent design. I signed up for biology but got philosophy.

  • I find tropical astrology and other factors including circumstances, upbringing, routines, priorities, to influence a persons behavior. It’s never what makes a person but rather what influences them and I’ve experienced can be causation for certain things that I otherwise would not be able to understand or put my finger on.

  • I enjoyed this article! As someone who finds astrology fascinating it really made me think and reflect. So thank you for your level-headedness. I was hoping you would show your chart but sadly you didn’t. I’m VERY curious. Could you post the information or a picture? You obviously don’t have to. Thanks again!

  • Penn & Teller did an episode of “Bullshit” on this topic. It gets especially bad when astrologers give advice on family relations, work, or even medical stuff, of which they have no skill. And charge money for it. James Randi also did a fun segment on astrology on his show “Exploring Psychich Powers”. You can find a clip if you search James Randi Debunks an Astrologer. Contains a cameo from House actor Hugh Laurie, and british know-it-all Stephen Fry 🙂

  • Interesting points, however, Astrology is not a science, so you cannot apply the scientific method to it. It provides clues/symbols for interpretation, and that gives a lot of bias/inaccuracies etc. Personally, I have found very good astrologers and very bad ones as I have found very good doctors and very bad ones (not that I can really compare the 2 anyway). It is hard to read all the meanings separately, which a lot of inexperienced astrologers will do (which I am aware of and as someone interested in astrology I cannot offer to read anyone’s chart). Overall planet position in a chart as well as degrees, aspects with each other and in specific houses create a specific, let’s say “influence” (not to mention the most common ones, sun, moon and ascendant). It will be interesting to know where the “science” behind these “influences” come from and the true origins of astrology but unfortunately, I’m not sure we’ll ever know.

  • as someone who is very invested in and believes in astrology, this was a very interesting article and I appreciated seeing a skeptical perspective. It was refreshing to see someone do real research and go beyond sun signs. personally feel like the interpretations that can be drawn from charts are far more complicated than the Barnum effect statements- they can tie in areas of life together, signify career and relationship probabilities, and show relationships between your tendencies that are far more specific than “you are sensitive/loyal/caring/creative/hot tempered.” planets in my experience can also signify pivotal events in a life and not a reoccurring theme or personal characteristic, and 7th house planets can represent other people in your life. I personally dislike the interpretations provided of your chart, they feel shallow and like a lot more can be specifically drawn from your placements. It feels like they took the auto generated statements for each placement instead of looking at the chart as a whole and how the pieces are intertwined- none of these were full readings that connected the planets. lastly, I find that a birth chart reading at an older age is a better time- when you’re as young as 19 the same connections cannot be made as they have not played out. thanks again for your analysis- very insightful and in depth.

  • If I try hard enough I can relate to any sign lmao. Every sign has “traits” that a lot of people can relate to so obviously a lot of people are gonna relate to their sign and believe in astrology. I used to be obsessed with astrology but now i realize it’s not real. Think about it, every trait that you think you have because of your sign(s) can be explained by your environment and psychology.

  • I’m glad to see that you have posted this article Anna. I can’t watch all of it right now ( 1:36:25 ). But I’m sure that I will watch every second of it in the next day or two. In the past, I have learned that all projects that you tackle culminate in articles which are sincere, insightful, well thought out, balanced, reasonable, and logical. Somehow, at your young age, you have the discipline and the skill that I would only expect from a seasoned scholar. I am eager to enjoy perusal this latest creation of yours.

  • I used to be into “new age” practices, including astrology…. then I jumped into the rabbit hole, learning the depth of the deception in this world.. long story short I was led to the ultimate truth, which is Jesus. He is exactly who He said He was, the Son of God, who died for your sins. Salvation (eternal life) is found through trusting in His blood atonement for sin. Anyway, I just felt led to share. Call out to God, ask Him for the truth. If you’re genuine, He will reveal himself to you. Blessings! -Aubriel

  • In my opinion the biggest flaw in astrology is the main point of reference: the birth. I think that is not really relevant. A fetus is living for 6 months (9 months if an embryo counts as living individual) before that. It is proven and common sense that external influences are affecting you (at least in fetus state) even before birth. The only thing is that who invented astrology didn’t know that at the time…

  • I have some belief in astrology solely because of the moon. The moon’s gravitational pull is so strong that it moves all the water on earth, and people are like 70-something percent water. I think it’s possible that the moon has an effect on us that we’re not aware of, though what it is I’m not sure. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  • Take it from someone who has every single placement in water/earth; astrology is real. Astrologers have been talking about the grand Pluto/Saturn conjunction last January for the past 7 years. Please watch a article on this from long before January. We don’t understand Astrology completely; a lot of it is influenced by people’s erroneous interpretations. Its the next level of physics; we simply don’t understand it completely. VERY well made article by the way. Doing the digital nomad thing too.

  • Although I like astrology, I always had problems with it. 1: Astrological analysis always begins with having a chart and using it to justify or explain someone’s behavior. It never works the other way around. E.g. analyzing someone’s behavior, creating a chart based on the observations and checking it against a generated astrology chart. 2: Statements are often too vague to be credible (Barnum statements). 3: Multiple people are born at the exact same time, in the same timezone. According to astrology, all of these people should have similar traits, relationships and attitudes, which is hard to imagine. Number 1 and 3 would make great experiments.

  • I’m in the group of people who believes astrological charts, but at the same time living with the cognitive dissonance of my natural skepticism. I love reading charts and determine which statements are true in specific to me, and for other people, but I still generally believe that birth charts are Pretty accurate and useful. both of my parents are the poster children for their Sun Signs

  • I’ve been studying astrology and i didnt understand philosophy enough to form a conclusion on it. I actually wrote my college essay about how I don’t believe in them but thinking about how the esoteric themes coincide with science formed my deep interest in social sciences. The mystery of consciousness in psychology and “the invisible hand of the market” in economics are things that supercomputers can’t calculate but we still search for answers. This is a great article!

  • About that quantum entanglement : it is believed that quart can’t exist on their own since they do have an anti gravitational force between them, which means that it pulls instead of attracting. This strength of this force grows as the two particles are more separated in distance. Thus to separate two quarts, you would have to apply an infinite amount of force to stop the two particles of being repulses from each other (connected to each other). 2 quart that are at different opposites of the universe are then interacting together because of this pulling force that exists between them 🙂

  • The article aside. It seems that you have Gemini traits off of the bases of how you talk and the importance of intellectual conversation to you. Does that mean that I’m going to go all in and say you are exactly everything a “Gemini” is. No. We are all complex individuals and based off life experience and many different factors your astrological sign is a moot point to how much of a wonderful person you are! ✨ So this is why someone’s astrological sign is of no importance and I like to look at it through the lense of just something fun to analyze. But there shouldn’t be a need to be those things just because something that isn’t completely proven says you are those things. I’ve had my fair share of people making harmful assumptions of me and how I’ll react based on my sign and being 1000 percent wrong. So then we could say that astrological signs don’t even exist and it’s just by happenstance that someone would have certain traits of the sign it says we are. Maybe there’s a biological reasoning of what time we are born correlating to the season of the earth. Also I think people can have many different traits that don’t attribute to their “sign”. I’m deemed a Scorpio. And people think I’m mean, hyper sexual, and revenge seeking. When I’m literally the complete opposite of all those things. Then they say look at your moon and rising. Both of those are Pisces. We can just correlate all of those traits to how we were raised, traumas, what we learn, our habits, who we are around etc.

  • As a researcher, i really appreciate this article with a slight statistical analysis and journal evaluation and so on. I personally think it’s fun, have read my birth chart and even enjoy perusal YT related to tarot (not astrology) for passing the time; but i wouldn’t call myself a “believer”. Even thought science does not have an answer for everything, nor can we explain everything, when we find that something widely accepted in the past is actually wrong, we make the adjustments and go off from the new evidence, so even the argument that “even science is not reliable” is weak (to me, at least, but i may be biased because it’s my profession). The “studies” that people quote as being evidence of astrology working are soooooo poorly done, it makes me a little angry even; but also, the studies are very very old, and in the world of science (at least in natural sciences), something older than 10 years could stop being a reliable source because of the speed/rate advances are made, so i wouldn’t exactly quote something done in the 1950s as evidence. Like you said, they aren’t even peer-reviewed, which means they aren’t even reproducible. Also, your cat scared the crap out of me, but it was a cute surprise once i realized what i was seeing hahahaha

  • I feel like a black for not being into astrology. Even my very scientifically-minded friends take it seriously. I’m trying not to be annoyed with it because I get how it’s fun but I cannot stand it when people who have known me forever discover I’m a Libra and make blanket statements about me that are totally off. I also hate it when people say things like “I hate Cancers”, etc. I know people love to categorize things but I’m just rubbed the wrong way by it. It also doesn’t help that I’ve never identified with my sign’s traits, so I guess I’m biased. But still!

  • I think (Corey Goode) put it best – “we take our knowledge, experience, our philosophy and the sum of all of our experiences and grind it up to form a ‘Lens’ which we look at the world through. The problem is are you looking through a CLEAN LENS”? Pulling your beliefs down and taking a close look at this is a good thing, but these are ‘Your Beliefs’, remember that!!^_^

  • Good article! I’m lttp as usual, but here are my comments on this. For the causes (29:50): 1) Orbital resonance: How does this connect back to the time we were born? Particularly when someone comes out of the womb (because this can’t refer to the natal period, since early/late births would have to be accounted for), the ratio of orbits will affect them? How does being pushed slightly harder affect your entire personality? This one doesn’t add up. 2) Magnets: What is the “human neural network”? I’m no neuroscientist, but our brains do not share some wireless link to each other. And again, how does the time of our birth change who we are via this mechanism? 3) Synchronicity: So if it just happens to happen, it’s true? I mean, I guess, if it always happens, but we know that’s not true, so we can throw this one out. 4) Quantum entanglement: Ahh, classic physics buzz words. So quantum entanglement is when two particles become “entangled”, meaning they always share the same properties. So if you measure the spin of particle A, particle B will also have the same spin. How do the moons and planets relate to that, especially with tropical astrology? Does the moon’s (relatively weak) gravitational force send entangled particles from a constellation directly into your brain? No? Then how does this actually work? (it doesn’t) 1:25:30 This is another case of correlation, not causation. Interesting, sure but meaningless on its own. 414 subjects is a pretty sad sample size as well, especially when they are being split into 12 groups.

  • i wish you used cafe astrology or some online program. I feel like astrologers are subjective because it could depend on their level of professionality, mood, how much they feel like writing, how much they remember/know… At least with a website you get the same depth of information no matter how many times you input your information. I was really curious to see what your chart actually looks like. Also I bet if you hire the same astrologer by a different name you would get slightly different wording, possibly interpretation. Therefor the accuracy in your instrument is up for debate.

  • You mentioned that you don’t think people believe in the Greek gods anymore… I beg to differ. Many Pagans revere multiple gods, including the gods from Greek mythology. I myself do not believe they exist, but I do believe the idea of the gods can be useful when a person is trying to change something in their life or to appeal to a higher power.

  • Perhaps astrology as we know it today is flawed, just as is science.. Or simply incomplete. There is so much more to astrology than what you were looking at and unfortunately astrology loses its accuracy the more it is simplified. It is highly complex and modern popular astrology doesn’t approach many things right. You said yourself that it’s not only about the sun sign so why did you feel duped about your sun sign not feeling accurate when you didn’t discuss other planetary placements, aspects, other important points in the chart like the nodes, midheaven, asteroids, critical degrees, houses, planet rulers etc. You oversimplified many things and keep in mind that reading the description of a placement or aspect might not be accurate to your chart due to other factors that diminish or even reverse the general meaning of the placement or aspect. There are so many factors that all need to be taken in simultaneously and it is complex. Try looking into astrosophy or Hellenistic astrology with an open mind (and not taking the religious references too literally, but more symbolically). You can also look into hermetic principles and alchemy, which went hand in hand with the ancient art of astrology. With approaching astrology there has to be an open mind to higher energies, powers, or entities at work, as relying on science explanations are very “inside the box” whereas astrology is not. Just like Jung’s theories regarding archetypes, symbolism and the subconscious. Astrology isn’t the answer to everything.

  • I know this article is older by now, but I just wanted to say I LOVED your article so, so much. This is by far the most thorough article on astrology on this site- you addressed the logistical and scientific issues of astrology, while also acknowledging that for some people it has some value. You also talked about things I think about pretty often, like everyday implications of logical fallacies, and the process of logic and science itself. Definitely gonna use this as a source for a article I want my to make on my own website about pseudosciences/astrology. Thank you so, so much for this article!

  • Thank you for this very thorough article. If I may submit my opinion, I believe the significant focus on The human experience in regards to astrology and mysticism should be or can be that of the revelation or argument that the human being as an individual or collective has far greater powers than astrology could ever claim to have, including the power to manifest reality based on belief, and the power to see into non local time and space, by way of our natural senses that have not popularly been quantified or defined. Occam’s razor would suggest many shortcuts around much argument dealing with popular criticism or support of astrology. My theory is that astrology is a book of order that helps us to deal with chaos, by assigning our roles in society and in relationships according to a cyclical dispensary of archetypes which in larger cycles satisfy each individuals need to pass through various lessons and opportunities for growth and connection In other words, astrology is a random generator of life lessons and advice much as a teacher may give but with less intimacy

  • I observe astrology as a part of my religious practices. For me it has to do with soul stuff and isn’t a tool for prediction but for introspection. It drives me nuts when new-agey folks try to talk it up like it’s scientific. Cause it just isn’t. It is strictly a spiritual thing. Thus, I would never expect anyone within the realm of atheism to even begin to look at it with interest in studying it, and I feel like it’s rude of us as Pagans/Spiritualist/whatever folks wanna call themselves to act attacked when someone doesn’t believe the same crap as us. Like, I left christianity because of their proselytizing and judgemental bs, i’m not about to throw that same bs at others. My values are heavily based in science – the Big Bang is my “creation myth”, I have moving experiences thinking about the hypothesis of a cyclical Universe (expanding and collapsing back and then expanding again), i find majesty in the sciences of biology and botany and learning how nature does what it does. And i’m very strict about keeping those scientific wonders to one side of my beliefs and being very clear that the woo-woo crap I do believe in on a personal level is nothing more than a choice as a part of my faith-based practices (which I have to maintain for the sake of my mental health.)

  • My mum has this weird superpower of talking to people she just met and then knows what star sign they could be…. She’s right like 80% I don’t know what she’s doing, or if there’s something real about birth charts but this is one thing that I believe could have something on it. Horoscopes not their just for fun and stuff but the whole character/birth thing idk.

  • Thank you for making this. I did a deep dive into astrology too (birth chart etc) about half a year ago, and found it to be insanely negative, bashing me for personality traits that I do not have. My Mercury in Gemini apparently means that I talk too fast (as well) or that I can’t shut up. When in reality I know and other people around me know that I filter a lot of what I want to say in and out of intimate relationships. Of course, you can consider that as communal reinforcement.

  • I dont believe in astrology but i think its fun and comforting, and im also interested in astronomy so i just like similar topics xd idk you could say i like -cultural exploration of how people saw the complexity of out universe before they knew what we know now -The aestethic -roleplay that its real, pretending that there is magic in things because its fun

  • Find an accurate astrologer. Same as finding a specialised doctor. I don’t believe astrology as traits, it is as an evolutionary life path. Different astrologers themselves have a different area of research, as well as a different approach/view. Depending on which area they chose to spend time diving into. I don’t buy the pop culture and belief of astrology as personality, nor the ‘textbook’ definitions listed on pop websites. But astrology accurately gives us a blueprint of our life lessons, our checkpoints, our psychology that triggers repetitive patterns, childhood environment, it pairs well with psychology, these life lessons are for both individual and as a collective. Same as what we are going through now we have collective lessons. Find an astrologer, who has psychology background, a scientific eye,, appreciates history; understanding the patterns over time, and has the brain capacity to assimilate all this data. I employ the observational and developmental method. As with most specialised professions this would come with a value. As such, a great astrologer won’t be on fiver. Lol. Alternatively, with your mind, you could become your own astrologer, dive into the depths of it, do your own research, case studies, etc. I’ve been studying astrology for 8 years, the more I dive into it the more I discover there is still yet to learn. Most people who don’t believe in astrology do so because of pop representations, and haven’t studied it. Cheers!

  • People need to stop going off of popular descriptions, reports, and what they’ve been conditioned to believe about signs, planets, etc. I know astrology is real because I constantly feel energies from people (or get signals from physical features) that will let me know what sign they are. I am right majority of the time. I could feel you are a Cancer and I was correct. What I find is that the energy I pick up from signs in real life are very different from what the texts and other people say. Therefore in my mind I have a totally different set of descriptions / attributes for each sign, planet, etc than what is currently accepted as true within astrology communities.

  • I believe there’s value in understanding how people interact with each other, and how your personality can affect others and vice versa, so astrology isn’t without value. I could even POSSIBLY buy into the idea that planets could have some degree of affect on our lives, but star signs just don’t make any practical sense. Mostly because constellations themselves are nonsense. They’re stars that appear close to each other because of relative magnitude and their relative position to Earth at this time in history. But many of the stars within them are hundreds, if not thousands of light years apart. Many of the components aren’t even stars – they’re nebulae or other such phenomena. There’s no plausible reason why a random assortment of unrelated celestial objects would have any practical impact on our lives. It could be valid to say that a person is “acting like a Gemini”, but saying that because someone was born in a certain month that they’ll have to act like a Gemini is absurd.

  • this modern astrology stuff, like co-star & modern rulerships (using the outer planets uranus, neptune, and pluto as rulers of signs) are totally baseless and unexplained. yes, there is a 23.5 degree orbital wobble that sets the ecliptic off from the constellations, and in sidereal astrology they take this wobble into account. but astrology is a system of archetype; it is not about the actual electromagnetic effect from these planets, but the manner in which they influence our ideas of what makes up the world and our human experience – archetypal, mythic forces that despite assigning meanings to, cannot be fully explained. i highly suggest the book cosmos and psyche by richard tarnas. astrology is real, it is just often misused. as a traditional astrologer, i use systems that can be traced back to the babylonian and hellenic times. its very different than the AI generated BS on costar, or other baseless modern astrological trends.

  • Another excellent article thanks Anna (from a fellow Cancerian ♋️😝). I also loved when your cat decided to pop in and say hey 🤣.. I have always been on the fence about astrology. In my personal experience, I tend to find most (but of course not all) the people I meet broadly align with their star (sun) sign which I find interesting! However, when it goes beyond that and we go into the realms of moon signs, rising signs, birth charts, timings, houses etc etc etc I just can’t buy into that. Too confusing, too many contradictions, too many different interpretations that don’t agree. On a side note when you mentioned you were only 19 I nearly fell off my chair! Your intelligence and ability for articulating in depth research is really impressive 🙏🏻. Thank you for keeping us all informed and aware with your bright, beautiful brain! 🧠

  • I really really like your approach, serious and objective. I would say one thing though. Getting 5 – 20 – 25 $ reports is not making astrology’s accountability any favor. There are a lot of astrologers who are self taught and not really good. But there are people who study for years and years before becoming professional astrologers. These people are not going to charge 20 $ for a serious report. So, although everything you say is very well thought, I wouldn’t trust these reports as accountable astrology data. Sorry for any mistake in my grammar 😉 XXX

  • I used to be someone who used to figure out people based on their sun sign till I realized how futile it was. To really get the drift of astrology, one needs to figure out their natal chart that gives you information about the positions your planets and houses are in, providing you with an overview of your personality according to your birth date, place and time. Then come natal aspects which give you a broader perspective about how the planets work together and this is where things get intriguing. I know astrology is not everyone’s cup of tea and it can be super vague at times. I personally like to use it to understand my strengths and weaknesses and how to polish and work on them, respectively. Having said that, I avoid mindlessly believing everything it has to say bc that’d just be counterproductive. In my personal experience, deep diving into my natal chart has definitely helped expand my perspective on myself and life. It has helped me get in touch with my shadow side, something that therapists help us do. I can swear by my experience but I’d also like to add some words of caution – one shouldn’t take it too seriously. Astrology is merely a projection, a vehicle to help you get to know yourselves a little better and that’s it. It won’t give you all the answers you might be looking for so it’s better to not get obsessive. So yeah, there’s my two cents on the topic of discussion.

  • I appreciate your rational and logical approach to this topic, however you completely oversimplified the whole topic. You didn’t take into account house placements, aspects, critics degrees, angles, decans, duads, rulerships, or any of the other things that would influence the interpretation of a sign/planet in your chart. It would be cool if you went back and revisited this topic more thoroughly, maybe you could even get your birth chart professionally read. I’d love to see your reaction to that. Also sidereal astrology is 100% more accurate.

  • I really appreciate the part where you talk about how some people who believe in astrology will look to conspiracy theories. A few people in my life are into astrology and taro cards etc and I enjoy it and think it’s fun but I guess they really believe it and since the pandemic these same people have fallen for the vaccine, bill gates type conspiracy theories and it’s so upsetting to me. I never though a belief in something as fun and innocent as astrology could lead to believing in literally anything 🙁 love your articles!

  • As an astrologer, I appreciate you honest dissertation. First, I want to address that I don’t “believe” in astrology anymore than I “believe” in english. Astrology is a symbolic language, like tarot; I do believe there are unknown, yet unfound scientific connections that will come in research. The houses and signs are PURELY SYMBOLIC ie they don’t exist and any astrologer who says they do is not so rooted in the truth. The planets are real though, we know this astronomically. And being that we’re in a quantum, energetic universe, it makes sense that these huge physical bodies of gas and/or rock that are attached to our sun by gravity might have an affect on us on earth like the geomagnetic field. Uranian astrology and Vibrational astrology are 2 newer facets that don’t rely heavily on signs because of how esoteric they really are and actually are more interested in vibration or orbital resonance as you would say. Since the planets are real in my experience reading clients charts and reading my own chart I’ve had great results and feedback. I focus predominately on planets and signs and houses as attributes and it’s been accurate and helpful vs the mars in cancer means BLAH BLAH BS lol. But people can also use astrology as a crutch or it can become a source of anxiety for them if they perceive their chart to be negative but it’s not that serious. Sometimes we just want to know more about ourself and/or have someone help us get out of a slump. I don’t believe in absolute relative truth but I do know that for those who are drawn to astrology, many find it very empowering and enriching. BUT there 100% needs to be more scientific research done on astrology, no doubt! Quantum physics and biology have seemed like the most obvious places where a connection may exist so I’m so grateful you brought up Quantum Entanglement <3 but again you're right to question it. I don't think people realize we are literally emerging from a veritable dark age- astrology can be apart of the new scientific revolution too. I think this article would have been more scientific if you had actually talked to some astrologers and some of the astrologers who are doing research to look for evidence; because you present the arguments of your followers but they're not experts so it stands to reason they can't properly explain why astrology works. or if it works etc ALSO i don't think it was accurate to lump the planetary vibrational argument with the everything affects everything. That was basically the best argument in the responses and you lumped it in with an argument that was easily debunked lol.. AND you started the article talking about how the stars are basically irrelevant and I was like "Yeah, tru". Then later on you talk about stars that a millions of light years away that should be included if astrology was real but how could they have the same affect as mercury or venus which sit between the earth and the sun. If the vibrational argument is true then the stars are completely irrelevant because they're so far away they wouldn't over power the planets closer to us. Asteroids are precarious because like you said, there are so many and this is where a main issue comes in. There's too much information in charts, so the very things you disagree with in your chart may be contradicted by one of these know asteroids or points or something that is even unknown. And seriously reducing things down to planet in sign is like cutting up a monet painting and describing the section you cut out. It's not accurate because the chart is one thing, not a bunch of pieces. Also Astrologers don't know everything anymore than scientists do and I think there's definitely the astrologer who is fanatical in their belief but every good astrologer I know is genuinely just trying to help those people who are interested by reading whats coming through the chart. and i say reading because it's a language, now languages evolve with time and so should astrology. BUT including every asteroid, every star and all that is unnecessary because the vast majority of those celestial bodies won't be large enough or close enough to disturb the motion of the big players we all know. THERE IS EVIDENCE OF THE MOON AFFECTING PEOPLE- More babies are born in full moons for ex. "The theory of the lunar effect on births is based off the fact that the moon's gravitational pull causes high tides. Since the human body is made up of 80 percent water, the pull is believed to speed along the childbirth process, according to Discovery Health." and "I think if you talk to anybody on the front lines of the hospital, emergency room doctors, labor and delivery, etc. it’s always like that on the full moon, everyone for some reason is really busy," Matthew Guile, a doctor at Sutter Memorial, told Fox 40." source huffpost.com : huffpost.com/entry/full-moon-babies-lunar-effect_n_927703?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZWNvc2lhLm9yZy8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAALieOtRtBUA_SgvzF8vdRfz8t4-ug2NkPt3XM01wthFajzKDgD0xNykIJr6cqGDArGRAO_PIrJGljlTonE1lvbZeFX80bqTcT_xdg0AQsWGNJ-_ACKh5fbiItpBMhiiDSAIpbL1zg-ZU7nCosF8GycZyxvm8zA9OF-OOYJKIH0xy ---- this is just one article that took me 2 minutes to find. How are you going to both claim that astrology is problematic because they don't include the star and numerous asteroids while also claiming the other planets are so much further away than the moon they can't possibly have an affect. It's like you're trying to attack astrology on all sides but not quite getting it anywhere. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR: An astrology reading should be at least 75 dollars or that person is just playing a numbers game. A lot of energy and research goes into reading a chart and this really cheap readings aren't doing that. They are probably literally reading things out of a book and acting like it you. Now with the effect of believing something is you because it's for you and positive is an interesting assertion but it doesn't disprove astrology interpretations as accurate. ALSO NOT ALL INTERPRETATIONS ARE ACCURATE, And lowkey you are popular, you have over 200k subscribers lol high school popularity isnt the only kind of popular. And you're only 19 but you already lived in a van for a number of years. It's like you don't know yourself that well or are looking for any slightly wrong thing- I only know you through this platform and I really respect you as a person and creator; so I hope you don't take offense to this message.

  • Firstly, i loved the article, it was very well researched and insightful. I’ve been studying astrology for about a year. In the beginning i did fall for the western tropical astrology, but i didn’t resonate with it. Then i got into sidereal/ vedic astrology which makes a lot more sense to me. In vedic astrology, the regular zodiac signs are broken up into 2 and a half parts called nakshatras (lunar mansions) which is a game changer. Using my understanding of vedic astrology, i can confirm cancer isn’t sensitive. The qualities of cancer are rooted in deep misogyny as cancer is ruled by the moon which is the feminine energy. Could you please make a article on sideral/vedic astrology. Even though it holds no scientific evidence, i do believe it to be true as it has helped me understand myself better.

  • I think “Im super sarcastic” IS a Barnum statement. that’s because I personally met tons of ppl who considered themselves sarcastic when they were not . I think people mistake sarcasm with sass/being generally witty, and everyone WANTS to believe they are witty and have this cutthroat sense of humor, and therefore – people think they are more sarcastic than others. ‘Sacractic’ just turns into this vaguely positive trait that in some way websites intelligence and humor to them, and who doesn’t think they are intelligent and funny? And edgy?

  • It’s hilarious when someone says that “science has been proven wrong”… I mean, the phrasing of that in itself raises the question of whether they think that science is a single philosophy unto itself, the whole of which could be “proven wrong” in one fell swoop, or whether they simply mean that some former scientific theories have been proven wrong in the past… But then, even if they believe the latter, it’s like, what do you think it was that ultimately proved those theories wrong? MORE SCIENCE!!

  • i don’t have all the answers for astrology but i learned that astrology can’t cause anything. more like it gives out signals/indications like how the clock on the wall says that it’s 3 but it’s not making it 3. i also learned that a birth chart at a given moment is a promise to unfold like a relationship, jobs, or a human life and that astrology isn’t pseudoscience because astrology is not science unless you’re claiming it to be then yeah, it is pseudoscience. i remember u mentioning about retrograde and yeah, you’re right about how it cant be in retrograde cos it’s not. or that the whole co star app.. uh i’ve heard that it’s not by real astrologers (i didn’t do research so pls do it on ur own) and the whole horoscope thing, i don’t trust it 🤔 edit: thanks for making the article because you’ve actually researched through and through with your facts and reasons using what u know or learned. that’s actually impressive.

  • Anna, I first want to say thank you for the time and effort you put into this article. I watched from beginning to end and thoroughly enjoyed your presentation of this subject. I have been studying astrology seriously for several months. I have spent literally hundreds of dollars on readings, books, and even an online course. However, more recently I began to wonder if my affinity with astrology was all rooted in confirmation bias and the desire to believe that our existence has some greater cosmic meaning. I grew up in an abusive environment where religion played a large role. Although I left that religion decades ago, I think I’m still grasping for something to believe in. Something to fill the void where religion once lived in my psyche. It’s painful to think that our lives might really have no true purpose and everything is chaos. My pursuit of astrology has felt like a frenzied attempt to connect all the cosmic dots in order to feel like there is some kind of order to things. Moving forward I may have to step away from my astrological studies. I’m not sure. My heart feels deflated, having spent so much time and effort on something that may have no real validity in the end.

  • I’m sensing good vibes, but not opened mind. It looks like you are mostly just trying to ask others opinions just to tear them down with some “proven to be right” logic that is backed up with definitions. I respect your capricorn visdom and attitude, this is what made you pick up all this information and make this article. But the problem is that you keep on doubting everything and don’t see what’s beyond. If someone explains their believs on this topic, you just stay focused on what you belive and you protect it – the same reason why you could spend so much time gathering the information and making article – protecting your truth, not expanding your safety zone. Saying that someones believes don’t make sense, doesn’t mean than it’s wrong. We are much more than just boxed in creatures. Astrology is a great tool to lead us to our true selves. It’s up to you to take the opportunity or turn away. I’m not here to defend astrology or say that it’s always right. I’m just questioning the way you interprete things.

  • Some nuance happening in your chart is that because you have SEVERAL Cancer placements throughout your personality planets, you have a vvery strong Cancer vibe… even down to your round, moon-like face shape. BUT because you have Leo, a fixed fire sign, as your Moon sign, it is a very dominant placement in your chart. Any time you have a fire or water sign as your moon sign, it becomes a dominant placement over your sun sign. So yes, you will have a lot of Cancer traits, but you will also have a LOT of Leo traits…. and those two signs are verrrry different, so you might pick up more or less of those traits from each sign which makes you…. an INDIVIDUAL…. NOT a ‘zodiac sign’… that’s why astrology isn’t easy to just prove or disprove with the scientific method… it’s interpretive. You are the COMBINATION of all of the signs in your chart, which are each activated at different points throughout your lifetime. You may have alllll these cancer placements in your chart that have been hidden by your Leo traits for your whole life, and suddenly when you get into your 30’s, you go FULL Cancer. But! Astrology is a deep well of knowledge… You’ve scratched the surface! Congrats! Keep going and you’ll eventually realize astrology is in fact the secret to the entire universe…

  • astrology is just a big fat barnum effect. i hate how some believers slash my friends often make astrology as an excuse for people being shitty, like “oh, he’s a taurus, of course he can’t commit”, or undermining some people’s blood sweat and tears to nurture their positive traits and give the credit to astrology for that, like “oh, you’re a pisces, you’re so empathic”

  • i enjoyed your very methodical evaluation on this subject. I can appreciate that everyone has a different opinion on what is or isn’t considered true. I think that finding commonality between those opinions and discussing the differences, leads to a better understanding of other people. From what I understand, God(s) have to be infallible to keep reality from tearing apart. I believe that ultimately we all on some level, dislike being told that our reality is less correct. Some of us will do whatever mental gymnastics we can to keep our realities intact. As a weird side note, I enjoy the sound of your voice, it is rather soothing. Also from WI, happily residing in FL.

  • I disagree a bit with your definition of a theory. You say a theory is close to certainty. That’s often true: the heliocentric theory of the solar system, evolution by natural selection. But there are many theories that are far from certain. Chomsky’s Strong Minimalist theory in Linguistics is a good example. Many think it’s wrong but others (like me) think it’s correct. Or the theory of group selection in Evolutionary Biology is another example. People like Dawkins think its rubbish but E.O. Wilson who has an equal reputation to Dawkins is a firm believer. My point is that theories exist at many different levels of completeness and certainty.

  • Hi!! idk if anyone has said this but I HIGHLY suggest you look into your Vedic (sidereal) chart, because Vedic Astrology, the one used mainly in the East is actually the original and accurate thing. It is based on the true constellations in the sky while Western Astrology (the most popular one, used by almost everyone nowadays) is based on the seasons and the position of the Sun and it represents our ego side and that’s why it is not accurate at all to so many people and no one can do predictions with it. the ones that find it accurate are probably the ones who are too stuck in their egos. When I found out and researched more about Vedic Astrology everything finally clicked and not only my natal chart but the charts of my family members and friends were 100% true. So basically you are not a Cancer, but Gemini (because in vedic astrology everything shifts back by 23 degrees) and Gemini is an air sign, so more intellect rather than emotions + having so many planets in your 3rd house which that house is ruled by Gemini just intensifies the energy + also your venus might not be cancer but gemini as well, along with your mars and mercury . And those contradictions may be perceived as contradictions because the information about each placement is written generally…astrologers should take a look at the whole chart and explain how the planets in your own chart really communicate and not just throw general info about each placement + there are also aspects which represent exactly the communication between the planets in your chart. There are so much things that can change in your Vedic chart and the other important thing is really the astrologers that are giving you the info, because nowadays many of them are doing things only for money and no knowledge of the actual facts. I hope you give it a chance too and who knows, you may for once be shocked by the accuracy of the REAL deal that Vedic Astrology shows you. You may have more air and earth signs so that may explain everything. <3 I am also suggesting this article. She is my absolute fav astro girl and she mentioned you in her article where she says a lot of truths that many people miss about astrology : youtube.com/watch?v=q8jtVblrWVQ&t=708s

  • ha, just to make (any) comment, to this who believe in astrology and argument by magnetic field and influential of it : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellar_magnetic_field, and periodic field reversal is different in every single celestial object, plus is impossible to not make ” measurement ” of spacetime efects, to give example how important is,and its affect on are daily life : astronomy.ohio-state.edu/~pogge/Ast162/Unit5/gps.html for @Anna’sAnalysis 2+2 its not equal 4, its very very tiny more(or less i don’t remember now ), i cannot find this proof in google, but this who study math or phisics and had to proof by using only axioms 0<1,1<2 and so they know what im talking about and maybe they have easier access to some page where that is done . Backing to astrology, from physic point of view we "live" in very very narrow "size" of universe where Newton laws /rules are accurate, and we sens only 3+1(time) dimensions, while we know the is much more ( outerplaces.com/science/item/17464-scientists-found-proof-fourth-dimension not the best article but..xd ) In my personal believes/observations in astrology ( all rules apply so scientific false ) somewhere there( very very deep ) its a seed of true, and not, im not taking Any advise or so from astrology/st obot what to do with my life 🙂
