A Witchcraft Case On The Internet?

A Case of Witchcraft is a story from The American Historical Review, Volume 23, published in 1998. It tells the story of Urbain Grandier, a seventeenth-century priest accused and found guilty of sorcery, evil spells, and possession visited upon some Ursuline nuns in Loudun. Grandier was accused of causing mass possessions that spread through the convent despite attempts at exorcism.

The story also explores the long-concealed secrets concerning the Dark Arts and the Great Detective. The Confession of Agnes Sampson, one of the “North Berwick witches”, is mentioned, along with a certificate that Jane Guppie is not a witch.

The article also discusses the importance of attestations of witches and witchcraft, such as women. Reginald Scot’s 1584 book, “The Discoverie of Witchcraft”, is considered one of the most influential books on magic ever published.

As a Catholic priest, Urbain Grandier faced numerous trials and litigation, including the blatant manipulation of justice by religious zealots during the Counter-Reformation. His downfall was orchestrated by his enemies, who sought to manipulate justice and punish him for his involvement in the occult.

In conclusion, A Case of Witchcraft is a fascinating account of the complex relationship between religion, witchcraft, and the supernatural.

  • honestly at this point if you can’t see something is really off with beyonce & a lot of hollywood you’re blind.. Eyes are the windows to the soul & she seems to of lost hers a long time ago & not to mention the ppl at beyonce & taylor swift concerts having full memory loss which is prob tied to energy harvesting it makes me nauseous.. also the iniation into the cult of taylor & beyonce coming out in red “blood sacrifice” when the whole kanye crying happened & then adele & a lot of others alwats having to pay respects to beyonce calling her the first lady of music so essentially jay z & beyonce the occult leaders in the music industry..

  • There is a spiritual battle going on, and people need to open their eyes! We have been programmed to think that the spirit realm only exists in movies. Oh, how foolish I was to believe that. The devil is real. God is real! Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life! Everything you are looking for can be found in him. All of your questions can be answered by him. Don’t look to the world for the answers you seek. Turn to him while he may still be found. Whatever it takes, turn to God while you still have the opportunity.

  • Kimberly is literally giving Beyoncé too much power in which we all have this power. She needs to pray that whomever is against her, may it boomerang back to them. She can also pray whatever she wants on Beyoncé as well because we are all one at the end of the day. Never give someone more power than yourself!

  • There is so many things that are going on in the world, that we have no idea about, people in power and our what we call stars we have no idea what they all are into and what they all do in their private lives, so this woman was behind the scenes she could have seen and heard things so don’t dismiss her she could be telling the truth

  • There is a prophecy blog on YouTube titled THE MASTERS VOICE and there are specific articles regarding Beyonce’s entanglement with the occult titled THE STARS WILL FALL part 1, THE DIRT OF HOLLYWOOD pt 2, and THE SODOMY RITUAL pt. 3. These articles are incredibly eye-opening and definitely worth perusal even if you are not a believer and simply viewing it for entertainment value.

  • Been perusal you for awhile now and I absolutely love your content.. Very thorough in your intell before message vomiting all over the web 🕸 Even saying simple words like that.. Web.. small ways of rubbing in our faces we be gettn caught. Damn. True story Also a stoners nice high epiphany 😶‍🌫️ Thank you @SLOANHOOKS Keep being you and keeping yourself and content real Throwing in that Prayer for all on here perusal or skimming 🙏 Recruiting By Speaking The Lords Truth And Asking For Those Hands Of Protection. You A Real One 💯

  • it might seem dumb saying this but her eyes seem as if there’s nothing behind. like no soul. i look at interviews or pictures of beyonce back in the 90s/2000s and i don’t know but i get weirded out when i look at the difference between how her eyes look now vs how they looked like a decade ago. they now seem darker, just like how usher’s eyes looked like in one of the met gala’s interview (though maybe they could be eye contacts idk) but he was also saying weird stuff. her eyes remind me of diddy’s eyes too— soulless.

  • I remember when Beyoncé’s Sasha Fierce album came out and she was saying it was an alter ego she used to get through stage fright. She also said she didn’t think she’d like her, if she met her in person. I thought it was weird, because she’s been performing since she was a child. In a later interview for her next album, she said she k//ed and buried Sasha and didn’t need her anymore. Honestly, made me think of disposing of a Ouija board and burying the pieces. I’m not sure what she’s into, but I think there are some otherworldly aspects at play.

  • 💯 BELIEVE HER. Her body language is telling me she’s telling the truth! Edit: Smh!!! Why would an established successful highly gifted musician who worked directly for Beyonce come out and say this stuff? Oh and btw she never actually came out publicly with this information, the lawsuit was leaked to the press. Sooooo why???? Because she’s all of sudden decided to destroy everything she’s ever worked for? Or she just enjoys getting blacklisted and mocked online? I’m waiting… 💅 🥱 🤔

  • Like this comment if you Went to Church this Sunday(Today)✝️ Lord Bless you, Thank you for giving your son Jesus Christ for our Salvation from the world. Hallelujah Thank you. Protect me and Fellow Christians who are perusal this article. For we are perusal so we know the evils of this world. Bless you Lord and Savior, Amen.

  • SLOAN, IT IS ME DEBORAH!!! So jazzed that you got my invitation. Kinda wild that this is the topic, as I am a practitioner (but none of that dark evil stuff). Been sending love and light to you for many moons now 💕 🌻 I meant to include a little note for you but life happened and it didn’t get included. May joy follow you everywhere you go and may you live in peace and prosperity. 💕

  • Agua florida was one of the only things to have helped a relative of ours who was in distress, I was told this when I expressed like an ok-ness with the aspects of Catholicism that we are taught isn’t ok. If someone’s struggling honestly what’s the harm in a sprinkling of water. All types of cultures could have a history of using these types of symbols but only certain cultures really bear the burden of the stigmatized perception of these symbols and things – again, I’m not standing by every aspect of these practices- but if something is helping 🤷🏻‍♀️ especially when ppl are believing in God and his ability to work in these situations

  • From what i’ve heard, Beyonce is part of a similiar african religion that I’m part of, and while the spells are real ( trust me, they are. ) everything you do to others comes back to you. Her orisha in particular is oshun which is a maternal goddess, goddess of riches and is known to be very good and plentiful. if she truly is misusing her magic then she’s doing so with bad entities, the Orishas don’t condone that sort of thing so if she truly is out there casting dark spells on people it will all eventually go back to her. axé!

  • Sloa i like you so much you and your friends are just awesome and I can’t help but tell you something you gotta think about, life is good yet Angel of death be like “I do not send sms like d less 3 I’m just like…ding dong!” On a serious note guys, death has no age no health condition no prior warning and in Islam repentance when you know you’re dying is not accepted, Islam is Essential and not for weak players if you are sincere do not wait! Revert and the rest will come step by step 🙂 go to a mosque, ask each and all of your questions and see for yourself

  • omgosh Sloan I love you! I can tell you were raised with very spiritual people. Whenever the devil or witches are even talked about my grandma would say “pray the blood of Jesus over yourself and your family” She wld tell us if you are at a sleepover and someone wants to do the oija board you tell them they are entering into a demonic realm, and you leave! WE DO NOT PLAY Around, IN THE Name of JESUS!!🙏🙌💜😘

  • Oh my how I have learnt that rule “be silent in your craft”!!! Yes I agree I would never do a working, talk about a working illustrate a working etc that I wish to manifest. It always saddens me how people can be so negative about others, even other witches So onwards I strive in silence and build slowly in those whom I trust. Great content. ❤

  • THIS is the article I have been waiting for! I am so excited hearing your take on this tag. I am thrilled you took it on. I am a 40-somthing practitioner who has been following your content since 2019 when i first began my journey in learning about all things witchy and magical. Your articles have been so educational and were instrumental in the steps I took as I was learning early on. I value hearing your thoughts on these topics too. Ok, back to the article!

  • If I had to make a list of favorite WitchTube creators you would be on the top of the list because your knowledge is vast and yet you are humble enough to admit when you don’t know something but can still direct people to good books that lead to the answer. In that way I feel you have become a quasi-coven leader to many who would otherwise be lost in the vast ocean of fake information or stuck in an environment that they don’t fit in with.🌹🌺🌻💐🐝

  • I have a friend who is a high priestess. I asked her how long it took her to achieve that. She was a member of a strong coven. She said it took her 19 years to get initiated to that level. She said it was extremely hard and demanding. There is no substitute for that. Seems that people are going for shortcuts now and that is not good. Many people are doing it now, not out of genuine interest but out of egotism. I don’t know the effects of doing this with witchcraft. In ceremonial magic that can be very dangerous especially with Enochian. If you are going to learn a craft, any craft you should try and go the distance and not use shortcuts. Everyone needs to learn, but learn the right ways and techniques. Thank you for the article! Great job!

  • Excellent as always, Hearth! I’d love to have a “pretty” and esthetically pleasing practice, but that is not always possible, lol. My main altar (and my diety altars, to a lesser degree) is a chaotic hot mess at the moment. I’m always chasing stray herbs and dripping wax around my work space 🤦‍♀️ Plus, I have to be a little slap dash with things. My partner humors me, but he’s not someone I would do a working in front of, or even talk about it with. And we live in an apartment with my adult son (he’s also aware that I’m a practitioner, but not the details), so long spans of complete privacy aren’t easy to come by. Fast and ugly is the only way sometimes! 😄 As I’ve grown in my practice, I feel far less bothered by it. 📚

  • 📚📚📚 Always enjoy hearing your thoughts on things, Hearth. I actually prefer the longer and more in depth content format of you tube articles, blog posts ( oh how I miss the time when blogs were at their height, before social media took over), books, and if we are so lucky, person to person conversations. Out of curiosity, do you recall that first book you found at a library? I was in my early thirties, it was 2009 and the first one I checked out was Green Witchcraft by Ann Moura. Hope Spring is unfolding beautifully for you!

  • Hearth, after listening to you waffle for over an hour, I could never think of you as anything other than a real person. You may have a computer like brain, but you bring the human element to everything you do. You did a great job on editing this one down, I thought it was going to be the length of a live stream. 😉

  • You look so gorgeous here! I’m about 3 years into the craft and about 6 years into my spiritual path and I’ve always thought people are too naive when it comes to spiritual stuff. I’ve always had the notion that I’m just at the beginning and know close to nothing when you think about all there’s to learn.

  • Your the only one I watch on article. I myself just follow my path. Some spells that I like I will post if it’s how I practice other than that…nope. I will help out someone if they are searching but I will also tell them keep looking to you find what makes you comfortable. My way is NOT the only way. & even though I’ve been doing this for 49 years I’m still learning. You never stop learning! Anyone who sais they know everything n done most…RUN!

  • Hearth! I don’t comment often but I wanted to say, thank you so much for this article and taking the time to talk about these important topics! You explained everything beautifully. I enjoy all of your content and I have to say you are the one creator that I have learned the most from. Definitely one of my favorite content creators in this community. I think you are truly special. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing. BTW you look stunning!! 📖📖📕

  • I like the mini-media literacy class! I love what you said about short-form content and how people should make the effort to do their own research and confirm for themselves if it’s accurate or relevant. I’m a media professional in my daily life so it’s nice to see people online say this. It’s sad that it has to be said, but reminders are always GOOD. 🙂

  • I started of with Wicca but I don’t really reside with that, I’m not sure I have a style as my practice has dwindled a fair bit, I don’t have any deities or anything like that, I do recognise sabbats but I don’t necessarily celebrate, i love nature and the feel of it so I spend a lot of time just embracing that area and I try to go the natural way with herbs and spices, flowers etc I definitely live by the correspondences and believe in a lot of the occult lore like the fae and signs etc, but I’m not sure I’m a witch anymore as I rarely cast if I do it’s for a friend or my kids if they need some help with something and my tarot skills have definitely dwindled with my lack of practice. I keep tabs online face book insta and YouTube, and I resonate with so much but I wish I could meet people that are nearby and share my “practice ” with, also my adhd makes it so hard when I have no one to remind me lol 😂, I feel better knowing just because I’m not constantly casting or worshiping a deity doesn’t make me less of a witch, I just don’t feel the need to daily cast, I also have health issues and I’m a single mum with minimal support so after I get home from work I’m drained so it’s very difficult to build the energy to do a spell, especially when you need to out so much into the prep let alone the actual energy you use while physically casting the spell itself. You have honestly made me feel less of a failure or a fraud and more a normal witch xxx

  • Although I think short form content has a bigger reach, I think it’s ineffective in keeping witches long term. I think it’s a reason why sooo many give up on witchcraft or forget about it. Because they see short aesthetic spell clips and crystals and but as soon as they get used to the instant gratification of that aesthetic, they move on before getting to research it and learn about the subject🤕

  • You look especially beautiful today, there’s something about your hair and makeup that just suits you so well to my opinion 👌🏼 obviously the website is about the content but I do appreciate the aesthetics of the background and I can see your dedication and your work through these details as well. In general, thanks a lot, I’m very much alone in my path and you’ve helped me a lot throughout the years especially with your massive q&a’s those I absolutely adore. I’d love to hear someday that you have a course or something like that, since I believe it’s important not only have systematic and structured studies but also have someone you trust supervising you, especially when you want to go to the root of all things. Appreciate all your work, you’re a superhuman to me trying to get everything done ❤️

  • I have been following your website since the beginning of my journey. So for roughly 3 years I have been absorbing the knowledge you have to share. I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything you do for the community. I really appreciate your hard work and research on the topics you speak about. Hope you have a lovely day.

  • 📚📚 📚📚 adding extra books, because your content is unceasingly valuable as ever. long-form is my preferred format of receiving information, so don’t ever think you’re saying “too much”; far from it, honestly. there’s a major reason why you’re amongst the very small, a literal handful, amount of practitioners i do subscribe to. thank you so much.~

  • This was a great article. I’m new to this – at least becoming part of the community, and I appreciate knowing how to look for the red flags, and understanding this better. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach. You’re one of the first people I watched. I tend to Like, but not Comment, but I’m trying to change that. Thanks again. Amazing website!

  • 📖📚 I loved the part you mentioned towards the end, that it’s very important to talk about certain aspects – even if it might throw some people off – because it would create more safety. (Like working with demons, etc.) I personally have found the online witchcraft community about 5 years ago but I still very much consider myself a beginner. I also don’t live in a country where there are a lot of witches or covens or anything. While I have read a few books, I do get a lot of my information from YouTube creators. And I would be very interested to learn about blood and sex magic, but if nobody talks about it it’s very hard to know where and how to start.

  • I have not practiced in awhile, but recently I’ve been freshening up on my knowledge in the subjects I find most interesting and absorbing how others who share similar interests do their practice online; I have discovered that I have different skills that no one else I’ve discovered does and Idk if it’s a good thing or a bad thing.

  • Commenting again! Look, I’ve stuck around for the whole 89 hrs of you “waffling” 😂❤ I set up my altars without any influence. My last one was mostly things I found on my own property. Then I looked online. I had moments of, ” that’s so pretty!! How do I do that??” Turns out, I’d have to spend lots of money and end up with something that meant nothing to me and had no energy from my land and family. I still have it set up with my dirt, rocks, cactus ribs and horns I found from a bull that passed away on my land before I ever moved here. It might not be someone’s idea of “witchy”, but it’s mine. ❤ Do you always.

  • Hello! First, I wanted to say I love your content and I’ve been a quiet follower of yours for years. Your articles on energy manipulation helped me astral project for the first time in 2022. Second, I would love to see more content of yours regarding “taboo” topics that you’ve mentioned. I see you have a pattern, and I would be 100% interested if you were to have class-style articles, how-to’s, etc. I know each practice is very individualized and unique, however I have personally found that we share a lot of views and techniques on magical practice. I’m certain many of your followers agree and would love to see you post more adult/taboo topics you would be willing to share your experience on.

  • I will do this tag on my (micro) website soon! I think it’s important to talk about this in the community and we all have different inputs. Also, you look stunning in this article, Hearth! You always look great of course, but this style was really YOU! Thanks for sharing your perspective, I really enjoyed it. / A magickal practitioner from Sweden.

  • Thank you Hearth, for always including everyone!! Although I don’t have mobility issues myself… I find that it gets overlooked, often in witchcraft, particularly. Also, “armchair witch” I heard a Youtuber mention that once, and I was mortified because I felt like that’s what I was doing. I really put myself down about it, so thank you for making me feel better about that. I’ve not watched the whole article yet, but I felt I had to mention how much we appreciate you for always including all groups of people and for not pretending that you have it together allll of the time! It’s so refreshing. ❤

  • I am new on my path. I had no idea where to start except to read books. I am so glad I found you. I have watched several of your beginners articles and will watch them again and again. You have given me a much better understanding of what it is and is not. Also given me invaluable advice on where to start and what the basics are and how to go about practicing them to get a good basics to start with before going into it too fast and too soon and too far before knowing and doing the groundwork first. I really had no idea where to even start before perusal you. You are very knowledgeable and I like how you speak and your vibe. Thank you so much for giving me a place to start my learning and my journey.

  • I disagree on the bit about perusal other Youtubers and “imitating” them. Nothing wrong with drawing inspiration from others if some of their methods resonate with you. For comparison, most of modern history’s greatest artists (be they painters, musicians or film directors) took inspirations from those who came before them. Adopt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own.

  • This article is so helpful thank you so much. I appreciate everything in here. And I’m really glad you mentioned the instant content. I am a creator in a different space and it’s the same over here. I’m glad as a creator you are taking your time because that’s the right way to do it. Thanks for being here. Here’s to learning patience and enjoying the journey.

  • I have been perusal you since 2020 when it started my magical journey. Because of you, I have learned to do my research and follow my personal path. I have watched other creators from tik tok and YouTube where they give their knowledge but it comes from a place of “my way or the highway” attitude. You are right witchcraft is very nuanced. It took me 2 years into my craft for me to really find my strong point. I love your website. Thank you for everything you do

  • The majority of witchcraft is study and learning. Anyone who is practicing all the time is doing it for the sake and not out of true need. Spells should always be necessity and we try mundane solutions first. Either that or they’re very experienced and selling their services which is obviously fine. So I don’t think it’s at all fair to complain about people not practicing. The vast majority of my practice is a protection spell at Halloween, cinnamon in my coffee for luck and cleansings. That’s really about it. I don’t have a lot of need for much else. We need less gate keeping .

  • I hear you on people offering spell casting services and saying they can do physically impossible things….especially as an agnostic witch, it really amazes me and bugs be, because I feel like witchcraft is more to get into the right mind state to manifest and then to maintain that mind state in regards to the things we want….it’s more psychological for me, to be honest, so I always kind of get a kick out of people claiming they can do impossible things, but it’s also not funny when they charge like $200 or more for something like that, and sometimes thousands and take advantage of vulnerable people who probably need therapy or spiritual coaching and cannot afford it. I’m sorry for the rant, but honestly…it makes me sad that these people give all readers and spell casters a bad name. 🙁 And when I say that someone needs therapy, I don’t mean it in a negative and cruel way. I’m a witch who performs spells regularly, but I still go to therapy….and I also know it’s a privilege that some people have no access to unfortunately!

  • Like you said. You do talk a lot & get so many words & knowledge out there . Luckily you have a lovely voice thats kind to the ears & worth listening to . Your knowledge helps loads also. 👍💚. Oh i forgot to mention. You said you been doing your craft for 17 years. Did you start before you even started school? You look very early 20s.

  • Hi. Just seeing this now. Thanks for sharing. I’m a talker too. I’ve taken from Spells of Magic, but never heard of it, so always took it with a grain of salt, but it seemed a good source, but I di d notice some people didn’t know what they were talking about. . Now I know. thank you. I always wondered why it takes years. I often feet less then because I didn’t achieve a high standard of knowlledge or an iniation. Yet I find it more comfortable.i love what you said about Tiktok articles vs. Long Youtube ones. ❤

  • Hello Hearth My Darling 😊 I am one of the Witches who studied a year and a day I also done another year of the US & British tradition craft, It’s allowed me to find lots of different information from around our Kingdom to what Helena Blavatzski sent to the states…..hope spelt her name right 😅. not much of a fan of her….but same with crowley he was gross, but without these people, though. we wouldn’t have the Gnosis. I’m very much a Left Hand Path practitioner. I don’t like to over share online,my deities aren’t so keen. As people should really do the real work. READ AND PHYSICALLY DO THE WORK! It’s not called the Occult for nothing right 😊 Blessed be 🥀🕯🤘🏼🐈‍⬛️🐍🦇🐦‍⬛

  • This is such great information! I’m thinking of starting a YouTube website myself but not sure if I have thick enough skin. I really appreciate the content you provide. You are incredibly brave and strong! 📚 📖 My favorite creators other than you are: Ivy the Occultist, The Witch of Wonderlust, Magical Crafting, Bente the Norse Witch and The Order of Chaos. I also recently took a 6 week witchcraft course from Sanhre at the Order of Chaos and it has expanded my life and my perspective in so many fabulous ways! And yes, he charges because that is his business. Money well spent and I have gained a witchcraft community for life.

  • Re: why the witchcraft community expects things for free — I believe a lot of it comes from seeing it as a religion (or at least religion adjacent), and usually Christianity, and they expect everything in it to be available for free because of that. (Even though even in Christianity, divinity school to actually become a priest/pastor is not at all free and has the usual costs of higher education and involves many hours of unpaid work — but the typical congregation doesn’t see all that.)

  • Your answers show a strong maturity and a real appreciation of the craft. In answer to to the Why would anyone expect a witch to do courses for free it comes from the days before the internet when we did everything in person and the old Gard stated that charging for craft was wrong. ( It’s been decades since I heard this but it might of come from Doreen valiente?) I was one of those who went through the “Year and a day per degree” school of thought so I entirely understand your frustration with the ” I’ve been here for ten minutes, why isn’t it working?”. Well done, young lady.

  • @HearthWitch – Hi Hearth, love your website! Just commenting to request some topics that my witchy friends and I that follow you would be stoked to learn more about: Solomonic and “high” magic culture/practices, as well as angel vs. demon magick, the pros and cons of working with each and why some people might choose one over the other. Thank you so much!

  • Thank you for your insights! I’m only just beginning my journey into witchcraft but I have resonated with this subject area for most of my life. Since having a kind of breakdown last November and being unable to work since then I have been working on healing and figuring out how to sustain a meaningful life in this capitalist, rat-race hellscape. Right now I am just sort of armchair-y, just being a sponge for whatever information then cross-checking. Though I have been struggling to find the “whys” like for instance when I look into the solar festivals and I find that they’re often syncretisms from sparse and sometimes contradictory European folk traditions. This is often the case simply due to the fact that knowledge if not preserved will be lost to the sands of time especially the further back you go. I tend to be quite skeptical of “organised religions” such as Theosophy or Wicca as I think in order to create cohesion and something that appears beautiful, which is often misinterpreted as truth, you have to sand away the nuances in order to make aspects seem ordered. So I was relieved to discover folk and “chaos” practictioners who take a more fluid approach which personally I think reflect the nature of reality better. Anyway, enough rambling. Blessings all 📚📚📚

  • Oh woe, the seeker who asks a Big Involved Question and wants a small quick answer. Answer: Tell me what you researched on the topic so far. I also think there’s an element of much reading or talking online about the Craft but much less experience of doing it. Read about circle casting and it seems easy, straightforward. But the act of turning inward to vibe a location, marking the directions, calling the quarters, greeting the guardians and feeling the energy is something that must be experienced. We practice the Craft.

  • I’ve had mostly negative experiences online when it comes to witchcraft and the occult, from a ton of misinfo adopted by new practitioners that were originally spread by protestant evangelicals to the sheer amount of new-age dilution of materials. Certainly, plenty of honest practitioners are out here, but witchtok really makes me cringe. Don’t even get me started on the scammers :/ I sound pessimistic, but the flip side is that it made me hyper-vigilant in my work and I’ve been able to help other people navigate those waters, too, so it really does come down to which communities and individuals you come into contact with.

  • I can rely to this article. To be honest, I do not follow that many witches on YouTube, but being more LHP myself, I actually also follow Orlee Stewart, or Cyber Witch from New Orleans. She is also quite down to earth and in many areas on the same line. I totally love her tutorials on magick and summoning demons. She is a satanist and might not be into what some folks here are about, but to me she is genuine as well. Here is link to her website: youtube.com/@OrleeStewart

  • Sooooo when’s the book comin out? You have soo much knowledge that could be on paper. Start searching the net again for new questions and make a book out of it. There is so much out there that people wanna know and we have you here full of this knowledge we seek! I personally believe you would do an amazing job at that book. You just have to search for questions. You already have a couple platforms to receive more questions if you ask people to come up with questions.

  • I will say something that is vary upsetting to me that has happened numerous of times, is I use ingredient that are agentsed the norm, like for example, what may be normally seen as a ingredient that is used in cursing, I find as a protecting ingredient cause that’s the way it makes me feel, but people will attack me for it. Example is everyone keeps telling me red pepper flakes are not a protective ingredient, but for me it is, it’s a caring ingredient, a protective one, but I constantly get yelled at for it and makes me shut myself away and for lack of words, become a “closeted witch” do to it

  • hearth,,,EVEN THOUGH I DONT FOLLOW WITCHERY .. I HAVE THE MOST RESPECT A PERSON COULD POSSIBLE GIVE TO SOMEONE LIKE U!!!! i have learned sooooo much from your articles. i am learning about divination aka pendulums. its articles like centering/ grounding/ your trip to glasenbury etc ….places that i most enjoy. i live in Maine,U.S.A. and you have the most gorgous country!!! im a country girl at heart anyways… i LOVE HOW YOU GO IN DEPTH in ur articles and explain things out with your own point of view… I THINK we have “lost touch” with each other due to computers/ electronics. its impossible to “show feelings” through typing . i think thats where theirs a loop hole in computer socializion. ppl just throw their reactions out there….. not taking into account the recieving end…feeling go out the window aka baby with the bathwater …..they dont think twice..and its soo damm sad!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! for everything you do..!!!! i SOO APPRECIATE YOU AND THE EFFORTS YOU PUT INTO YOUR CONTENT!!! cant wait to see the next one !!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

  • Love this content. Thank you. One thing that I feel it would be good for viewers to consider is that “words are magic” and that one must take responsibility for what they say. In that respect negative or vicious comments are likely to come back on the commentor and if nothing else spreads negativity into the quantum field which we would hope no one really wants. If someone doesn’t like your content they can just go elsewhere and keep the negativity in check. You are my favorite practioner on YouTube. 🌠❤🌠❤

  • Loved this article, I would have watched all 4 hours of you talking if you had decided to post it that way js. In regards to taboo topics (blood magic, demons, sex magic) I am a Hermetic Pagan Alchemist walking the left hand path at this time and would really like to start a Youtube website discussing more esoteric and dark themes within the magical community. But, as a hermit I am unsure how to even approach this. Your opinion, or any advise you deem worthy, I would be deeply grateful for. Thank you Hearth, and blessed be.

  • I like your website so much. I agree with a lot you have to say. So many people flock to witchcraft bc it’s a fad and has been a fad for a while now. We can see this with the over emphasis on aesthetics and flowery practice/language vs. creators who are more rugged, not as neat or eloquent, less rigid or a little more rigid. And I want to be clear, aesthetics doesn’t mean that a person isn’t serious about their craft, but we must admit that we have a problem with boosting content that is mainly aesthetics, but turn around to complain about the “lack of substance”. There will be times where learning about witchcraft will feel like attending a college lecture. Other times, it’s like leading a group of Boy Scouts out into the woods and teach them about the great outdoors. And a few times, there will be times where you’ll have to figure it out and fly by the seat of your pants. Witchcraft is a craft. You must pour time and energy into it, otherwise your skills may stagnate. I have other super unpopular opinions about practicing witchcraft that I know will get me booed so I keep them to myself. lol I thought about making my own YT articles but I cycle between people not being interested in what I have to say, and people being judgmental because I want to do content on less talked about subjects (necromancy, cursing, infernal spirits). If I see another spell jar, I’m gonna scream! My gripe with a lot of people on the internet (and sometimes IRL) is the fear mongering around certains spirits or concepts, ex.

  • 📚📜📖📓 I rather enjoy your honesty and approach on this subject. I feel like social media, and certain books, give us unrealistic expectations of living as a witch. It resonated when you said you only work with deities when you need to and not every single day. That perspective is important, because a lot of us have full time jobs and busy lives. Not to mention time for other interests besides occult related topics. I need my comics, books, music, and television shows as well!

  • 📖📗📖📙📚Hi Hearth, I haven’t watched all of the #occultea tag articles, but your responses are some of the most thoughtful and intelligent, and compassionate. It was great to learn about more about your background through your history with social media. Yours is the first explanation that made me aware of how volatile YouTube’s algorithm is and how it drives a creator’s content choices. Now I understand the tension between what creators would like to do and what they feel they have to do to earn a living. And, agreed, witchcraft is messy. Bits of candle wax everywhere after carving symbols, herbs and oil on your hands, matchsticks, half-burned incense, ashes. . . I don’t think there is an altar cloth I own that doesn’t have melted wax. Cheers! Bex youtube.com/@Thewitchescookery; Alwyn Oak, youtube.com/@AlwynOak

  • What you said about ppl consuming the online content instead of practicing is so true I am one of those ppl that are very cautious I know that I know what I’m doing and know how to do spells etc but I also suffer low self esteem and have very little faith in myself so it makes me very cautious to practice I’ve done spell jars which I enjoy but to do bigger rituals I lack the belief in myself I need

  • Although I understand the reasons behind not making this or other articles 4 hours, still I find myself wondering what you said in the other 3 hours that I missed. I have found in being present for your live streams, that are generally about that long, that they are filled with important and useful information for the entirety of the stream. This was a great article giving lots to think about. I’m so glad that I discovered you because you have been instrumental in helping me learn and grow my practice.

  • Hi Hearth! I just subscribed! I agree with so much! Doing my own research I know the word magic was first found in Qus and may have been the orgin of Hekate. Their word was “Heka”. Broke down it means, He= use Ka= personal energy/life force/soul. This is my understanding. It’s about using your OWN energy to create change in your life. Hekate was a Goddess of scholars as well as witches in Greece. Her form was a female with torches. Gathering knowledge lights the unknown. Learning is fundamental in being a witch. Always. I’m 52 and I learn still. Some of what you say, like joining a coven or having levels (like initiate/baby/beginner) is really Wicca. Wicca is a religion of it’s own and isn’t witchcraft. I have no 1 religious practice. I find inspiration where I need it. Practicing witchcraft is not about rules or morals or beliefs at all. It is more “chaotic”. Although, I think of it as more natural and human. You do what you feel, that’s it. A lot of witches feel annoyed at being lumped with Wicca. It feels like gatekeeping everyone with 1 religion’s rules. I found some fellowship on social. I think that’s the gold and worth scrolling past all the toxic positivity and drama. I’m so happy I found your website. It’s good to hear a practical voice.❤

  • This is why I love your website so much. You are you, no fluff, no getting involved in social media drama in your posts, just good, useful information given by your sweet personality. I’ve never felt like your content is a grift, or put out there just for the algorithm/money. You have always encouraged us to find our own way, yet shared how you do it, or your experience/knowledge on a subject. ❤🪄🕯🔮🧿💐🙋‍♀️❤️📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚

  • 📕 📕 📕 📕 📕 📕 Seriously, Hearth, 1:19:14 of pure intelligence and common sense…. I’m all in 👌❤️🌙🫶🏻! Thank you for being you! 😊 If I had a wish… it would be for @IvytheOccultist and you to collaborate! You are both so knowledgeable, inclusive, intelligent (of course)… You both complement each other in many ways in your online approach… As the saying goes: one can dream 😉😊

  • Another good article! Thank you. Though I pick and choose what I want to see. After listening brings up more questions than answers. A good thing! A few comments I have so many so go with ones that think are important. Not all pagans are witches. Yet all witches are pagan. The wise ones of old lived their practice. One can live within a spiritual life without going all Christian on it. One does not need to have pentacle, Scandinavian myth tattoos, to study the craft. When I 1st started into my study I learned it was all “closed”. Don’t tell people unless you don’t mind the questions or being rejected. In a group is ok. Everyone else no. Ha

  • I do not like witch tok I feel it’s so short and uncompleted and just not a good way for folks to learn and grow! I like YouTube imuch better to find athletic witches to learn from like you or my first was the Late TipToe Chick whom I loved! And for community! I actually miss her deeply and searched for other’s to learn from and grow and I found you years ago now. And I’m still here. Unfortunately alot are not here I have found in the United States especially when you live in the Bible Belt here. 😅😊

  • To be honest the online spells are sometimes misleading or just for the lols some witch-toks are just randomly annoying cause some spells arent real spells or they aren’t being specific about what to do. Thats why i usually just follow spells that are in spell books by other witches and wiccan practitioners or i follow my recipies and spells.

  • I completely agree about courses costing money. Not only are they spending their time teaching you, but they spent countless hours LEARNING their practice to begin with. I’ve learned 99.9% of my practice from free content, library books, and experience. Yes, you can pay for a mentor IF you’re able. But assuming that you’re entitled to their wisdom is complete BS. It’s not just a gift, it’s a talent that they honed over time.

  • Thats how I began lol. 13 & in the library. 😂 though recently I have felt grossed out by some of the witch community. I hate people thinking they know everything about you just because they talked to you for like 5minutes lol.. I stay in my own lane…or someone always thinks ur after their sunshine when all you sought was sisterhood & knowledge. And yes! Lol always assuming you know nothing about your craft because you bought someones course lol or didnt read such & such at certain time… yeah 😂 I am so happy to stay in my lane! 😂 Just sometimes you click on the wrong person. Judgemental stuff everywhere! Im actually shocked sometimes. We are all on a journey through life people. 🙏🏼 Student of life all-round ✨️ Thats My Lane 🤘🏼 Love the way you do your Q&As btw! Awesome ❤

  • Such a great article. I loved the Influencer Authenticity section. I generally censor my practice when I’m commenting on a article, but I will communicate that I can relate to the working or enjoyed the content. Although what I will say I include baneful magick in my practice as without the dark you can not have the light and balance is imperative in all things. I also liked a comment you made under Imposter Syndrome & FOMO about clean beautiful altars. To me when I see a clean altar on social media it’s not a working altar. I remember viewing a content creator’s article on their practice and it was so refreshing to see their altar all messy, wax everywhere, incense dust smudged into their altar cloth and I commented that it was finally nice to see an actual working altar or viewing a article where the creator is cleaning up their altar for the next working, that’s nice to see too.
