‘m adding something new this week to Witch School’s social media. More videos! These short videos will be inspired by tarot, …
I’m a baby witch myself, and my mom is a witch and she made a book of shadows and right now I’m having fun studying from it!she has been helping me on my journey. Most of the time I draw in my own book of shadows when I’m inspired that relates to this. Good luck to all those beginner witches and your not alone. Before I go make sure you do some research!!!💗🤗💓💖
Some great advice and advice I have often shared myself. I’d been on my path almost two years before I actually cast a spell. I’d been a witch a long time before I realised I was actually a green witch. Up to that point just called myself a witch. Nothing more. I didn’t want tonlanle myself as anything in particular. I don’t have a book of Shadows. I have notebooks. And I have them in physical notebooks. And on my phone and tablet. And you NEVER stop learning. Not matter how long you have walked the path 😊 I also say to people is this. It’s not a race. You do not have to get from A to B in the quicker time ever. Nor is it a competition. This is your path and yours only. Youbare nither better or not as good as another witch. You shouldn’t walk in the footprints of another either. Create your own footprints.
I am a beginner witch because I have always made potions whitout even knowing that it was witchcraft. I used to get a four leafed kleever, and waited until it dryed out, then I made it into a kind of powder. And mixed it with water and said some stuff (i guess a spell??) And I would give it to my brother for good luck. And yesterday I discovered witches! And I feel that this is the thing I am created to do.
I love these articles! I am raised as a Christian, but just don’t feel complete. I’ve always been so intrigued by witches and the paranormal. I am just worried about what my family and my husband’s family will think of me. I feel like I have to hide my true self from them, and it’s exhausting! I also have 2 young children under 5 and worry about their safety if I start my journey and mess up somehow. I’m just ready to become my true self and be happy
After perusal a few of your articles I talked to my eldest sister, who I trust more than anyone else in my family, about wicca and witchcraft! turns out that when she was around my age she also got deeply into the craft, and we were able to talk about books, learning and points of interest. She gave me her old pentagram pendant decorated with a beautifully reflective purple gemstone, which I’ve secured into a proper necklace with some red rope. I’ve been wearing it for a long time now, and I’ll be getting some books to study further soon. Thank you for inspiring me! 🙂
Based off of tip 3, i decided to go ahead and share some small things i do everyday for my practice. 1. I have an altar on my desk i light every morning, weather it be with a cup of tea before breakfast, or after. And what i do is I keep a notebook on my altar I use once it is lit. I take a page out, write the date, and use a widgit on my phone that tells me my horoscope, lucky number, and color for the day, and write that down at the top. After that is done, I write down ideas I had for the day, and throughout the day cross them out. Since I struggle with many task, and quickly get overwhelmed with thoughts and projects, it is hard for me to focus and remember everything I want to do, this really helps. It also gives me something to look forward to everyday and has me staying out of bed. Once I am done writing all my ideas for the day, I draw my sigil either on the side of the paper, or in a corner of it before hanging it on the side of my calendar, which i made sure was placed right above my altar. Once that is all done, I use a small jar to put out the candles (do not blow them out, it will blow away your intentions) and start off with my day. If i am stuck and am having a bad day, i will usually go through a playlist I have of witch articles I save for this moment, and take notes while perusal. Another small detail I like to do, when making tea, i use honey as a natural sweetener, and at the bottom of my cup i will draw out my sigil in the honey before pouring the water. I hope this helped! someone <3
This last year has been really hard for me and around christmas I felt like I was missing something in my life. My sister bought me some tarot cards and I started perusal your articles after stumbling on them. They are so comforting and I’m starting my journey into witchcraft, nature has always bought me peace and this just seems to fit right in my heart. Thank you for these articles! Side note, your are absolutely gorgeous and I love your headpiece 🥰
I’ve lost a lot of myself this year for some reason. During the end of last year I was very interested in learning witchcraft, divination, and I was even considering Odinism. But, so many things have happened that I’ve become so hollow and I lost my motivation to do anything or to learn anything. Even though I have a good understanding of how to start my journey already, perusal this article today gave me motivation to continue it. Thank you for these lovely visuals! ✌️
Back when I was younger I started exploring witchcraft as a religion. I looked at so many different options and in the end I was overwhelmed. Now here I am almost 20 years later and coming back to it in a more organic way. I had to travel the country to find the one place I felt most at home is right here where I was born in the Pacific Northwest. I had to go to college and try out a bunch of different jobs before I found the one that was perfect for me, working as a teacher with special education students. Now that I’m settled into a job and location I noticed myself starting to garden, and work a lot with herbs and spices and building a reference library to go with so much of my homesteading and bushcrafting and bonsai books. I also started picking up oracle cards and eventually found a deck of tarot cards that I felt were just screaming my name. Recently I took a step back and thought that much of what I’m already doing and into goes right back to the practice of being a green witch. Now I’m focusing on that aspect and working on building my craft and working it in with all the other things I already naturally do to start weaving things together in a natural way. This has led me to your articles. Thank you.
I really enjoyed and appreciate you taking the time to explain the way that you did. I’ve picked up a tarot deck, pendulum and dousing rods. The tarot overwhelms me and by picking one a day and studying it makes it more manageable for me. I’m brand new, 2nd year “investigating”, learning and this article helps so much 🙏
I actually have my bullet journal/planner and my book of shadows in the same book. I’ve tried to have 2 separate ones but I found it made me less likely to use either cuz it felt like too much work. Plus its nice to have my witchcraft in the same book as my planner. It encourages me to be more active with it every day.
Thank you so much! I feel like the weight on my shoulders has significantly decreased. I want to begin my path and I’m very confused on where to start, but I feel like your article shed some light. I’ll definitely follow this, it really did help me on realizing that witchcraft isn’t a textbook filled with rules- rather, something unique that is special and tailors to everyone. Thank you 🙂
I’ve been into anything Wicca for years now. I’m 41 and I first bought a tarot card pack when I was 16-17 I believe. I still have them but after this article I finally understand how to study the cards … I feel stupid lol I’ve made many book of shadows, I have no idea what kind of witch I am but I sure know that I’ve always been drawn to it since I was a young child. I do have intuition, I can predict a few things, my mom was the same but after so many medications and operations, she lost her skill. I’ve been searching myself for years and with this virus making us stay home, I find myself discovering myself on another level. This article is amazing Thank you
Thank you Ma’am! I have been so turned off by what I found on the internet that I stopped reading and searching. The teaching of you must do X, to achieve Y, does not sit well with me at all. I need to go with the flow and, like you said, find what works for me. I’m now inspired to find more information and go at my own pace! Great article!!
Thank you ! I’m just starting, so i’m i the stage where I look for information everywhere, espicially in books. But articles are also nice and instructive. I really heard you about taking our time to discover this new thing, i will follow your advice 9even if it’s hard because I’m so excited). Thanks again !
I know this will sound cheesy. But I’m crying. Happy tears. Tears of manifestation and inspiration. Your energy and your whole vibe throughout this whole article, has moved me. It’s helped guide me in a way I’ve been missing and needing. The missing piece. I’ve always been drawn to nature and witchcraft. I just started my craft this year and I’m so lost. Lost in how to create or start my BOS. Or even how to start my path. What books to get, etc. I consider myself artistic and creative but have a hard time trusting my process and allowing myself to create. I feel I’m no good at it. This also holds me back in my craft. I feel intimated in that I am not doing things “the right way” or that I’m just wrong in thinking this is my path. It’s always been something I’ve been interested in and drawn to… But I’m also intimated a little by it all. I dream of feeling like I can fit in a witchy coven of girls that finally accept me. But that’ll probably never happen. I’m the black sheep. But when it comes to anything I believe in, I don’t feel I can do it. This is all issues I have with my lack of self confidence. But i just wanted to say that you’ve helped me a lot. And I love your BOS. Total inspiration. I want mine to be beautiful and raw and full of nature like yours.
I have been having trouble getting started in this craft. I am always second-guessing myself and my choices. I would love to set up a beautiful hearth and altar but my room is a mess and I feel so burdened by it. I also want to focus on the healing aspect of the craft but I am worried I will read a book or a spell that dips into black magick without knowing the difference. It’s a little scary at times. Hopefully, I will learn to be patient and will slowly get a better grasp on my research and actions.
I knew I was a witch ever since I was young; I had very vivid dreams involving witchcraft for as long as I can remember, but I really started getting into practicing a few months ago. I’ve been doing a lot of research, and I have to say your articles are so inspiring and beautiful. I’m so excited to be on this journey, and I thank you for all your advice and tips. 💗🌙🌿
Hi guys, I’m Sophie, at first I’m sorry for my bad English I am German ! But anyways just wanted to share my story. My parents were in the Celtic garden and I was in the too since I was born I was there. We were going on walks an searching some crystals and stones ect. In the Wood we found many of them and I still have them! I am not in the Celtic garden anymore cause the people who led the Celtic garden separated so he broke up and yeah I was 6 years in there I was really sad. So I began reading about Celtic and all these and then I found witchcraft. Reading about dark magic and magic at all this were my escape from life. When I was 10 I looked the first time Harry Potter and read all the books of it. And I believed in all this and still do it. People laughed at me cause of that. Now I’m 14 and I‘m trying to shift for a month now but I think I did this all to fast so I read all about shifting and know all now but I have to much negativity in me I need to get that out and I feel really tired so I have a pause from shifting. ( and I need tips for visualization things) so yeah than I tried to control smoke but I guess I did this all to fast without really knowing all this perfect so I’m gonna google for information look on YouTube and tik tok and I’m gonna buy me a witchbook with spells and the story all this. So um I want to know which witch is the right for me . I‘m really interested in spells, controlling things like fire and smoke, I like plants and positions like in Harry Potter I like manifesting these are my interests.
I have some questions 1. I am getting a clear quartz necklace and I searched up how to cleanse it,and I want to know if just putting it in a glass cup with water in it does the trick? 2. What age do you recommend to start witch craft. I am still in the broom closet learning and I don’t know if I am the right age to start.(I am not a child)
You are precious, I am so glad for you and remember not to ever allow anyone who would put you down to bring harm in any way. I am older but, my dear you are an excellent teacher. Your style of communication blows me away as to how clear and absolutely lovely and understandable… please write books, yours I feel would be much better than those that have came before you. Your style I find to be absolutely crystal clear. And I have learned from your tips… I am 54 so that its pretty good, Brightest Blessings to you always ~ The person who wrote right before me I connect with too as I had those experiences as a little girl myself ~ Just be careful to like this lovely one that feels good use that as a guide for others that you click on, measure them by how good and safe they feel comparing them to this one which is as close to perfect teaching that you will find.
I absolutely HATE visualization. This is why I’ve had such a difficult time actually performing spells, and rituals in general. I always got it wrong. I just can’t find a way to visualize without getting uncomfortable or awkward. I’ve decided to take a break from witchcraft in general for a few months, and I’m just getting back into it now, since it is spring and I actually have motivation to do anything at all. Changed my practice from trying to cast spells, over to manifesting in general ways rather than making it difficult for me. I’m making smaller steps for myself and I feel better than I have before. I’m actually making progress rather than being stuck at the same spot. Even though I’m behind, I’m making a better practice for myself, and I can feel comfortable in my practice. I just want people to know that there are ways to personalize your practice based on your needs. It’s your practice, and you can do it in your way.
Hi there! I’m a 13 year old girl 🙂 I’m a beginner witch (Baby witch) and a lot of people say I’m too young to be in the craft, And that witches are evil and or dont exist. I do well with charms, herbs, crystals and potions and sometimes spell casting I think… I really like how open and nice you are, I hope I’m welcome here as a witch despite my age. 🙂 I also do not know what type of witch I am, Does anyone have any ideas?
I really enjoy your articles! They both inspire me to try new things in Witchcraft and fills me with the desire to practice and expand my craft whenever I get some free time at home. Even if it’s just tending to my plant babies, or just making a little magickally infused tea, it never fails to make the mundane into something extraordinary for me, and I’m happy to see so many people have their own little Witchy Ways 🙂
Came here to be annoyed by new-age female “””witchcraft””” But there’s a peaceful energy in this article, and I like your aesthetics, and I listened for a bit and came out with some new knowledge. Now I like you. I guess I shouldn’t shoot people down just because they’re associated with a group I dislike, everyone has things you can learn.
What a beautiful article in so many ways. Thank you. I shut down my craft in my youth (my family forced my to) and forgot about it. I am rediscovering it now and it is overwhelming. Your advice is very helpful and I love the aesthetic of your article and website so much. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
Hi i’m looking for help! I can not find out how to contact my matron. She’s telling me she is a greek goddess and is trying to contact me but also telling me I need to find out myself who she is. I astral projected yesterday for the very first time and I kinda explored it. After exploring, I tried to contact any goddess, I contacted Athena and then Artemis. All what happened is that I saw a bright yellow light and the outlines of a woman talking with someone. Some “weirdnesses” that happen to me are; I always feel connected to the number 2. To the 2nd Tarot card. To the 2nd crystal. Whatever so. I still can’t connect to any Deity. Please help me…
Thank you for this article it really helped me figure out lots of thing and answered a lot of my questions I always loved nature and herbs and everything like that and I really love that I found this article because you explain so good and easy I filled up 4 pages of notes from this most of the other articles I found went bait to fast and weren’t in me level since I am a beginners so this helped a lot thank you😊
As some of the others here spoke of the vibe that you give off is amazing. You really touched my soul. I was perusal this article and tears were streaming down my face. Your voice is so soothing. Here I am 56 years old, I have perceived myself a witch for all of my life. Although I felt almost embarrassed by it. Like I had to hide my true self because it wasn’t the norm. I checked out all kinds of Christian Churches and read everything I could get my hands on about other worldly religions. Because I feel like people will see me as evil if I follow my true path. Even though I am a white witch. There is nothing evil about it . Quite the opposite. I love nature and I love animals. I treat people fairly and I do not judge. I feel that everyone is equal in this world. Everyone has a purpose and everyone is beautiful in their own way. As well as with you my Dear. You are sharing your knowledge and even though I have been through so many years of reading books, reading Tarot Cards, writing in my Book of Shadows, practicing Reiki. You have touched my heart today and caused me to rekindle my love for who I truly was meant to be. I will now go unpack my tarot cards and begin again. Thank You for sharing.
I’m so happy I found your articles! I have recently been looking into different types of witches, and I read about Green Witches and I absolutely fell in love with their practices. This article is extremely helpful for me and my notes, and just the all around vibe I get from you and your articles is absolutely amazing <3 It's really inspiring me to continue on my search and practice into witchcraft even though my family doesn't approve of it ^-^
I’ve always felt this connection with the moon its hard to explain but it feels like something is calling me but I don’t know what I have weird abilities when I dream but every time I share my experiences people tell me, “you’re making that up” and “no one can do that” and it’s just hard to talk about this stuff especially since I was raised in a Christian household and my parents told me witchcraft is evil but it’s not there’s so much beauty in it and I wish more people understood
I got into witchcraft a little over a year ago, I did a bunch of research… I’m mostly drawn to candle Magick and crystals!! Also, my whole life, I have had premonitions weather in dreams or right before something happens, I think of it… I know I’m a witch, I always have!! Even when I was little, Magick is something I dreamed of!!
I have been very drawn to crystals awfully a lot all my life to a point people think I’m crystal crazy because I love looking at them because of how drawn I am to them. Also dreams, vivid dreams, astral projection and dreams of the future have been something that’s a part of me. My family has a line of spiritual people and I got their genes apparently, tarot or card reading is very common in my mom’s side along with the dreams.
I’ve been wondering as of late if the things I do and how I think technically fall under the usual practices of witchcraft. I’ve had siblings and even my nephew ask me if I’m practicing magic. I have basically told them “if so, I’m not aware of it.” But it has been on my mind lately. I do research and practice herbalism. I do study and respect myths, legends, folklore, superstitions, etc and convey these to others in my storytelling. I do use tarot cards, a crystal ball, and incense (not usually all at once) in my meditation. I grow plants. And largely I have a spiritual view on life. Not necessarily religious but spiritual for sure. I don’t know, I get the impression that there is more to this than all of that but it’s been on my mind since I feel so much of what I do lines up. I just have never labeled it. If anything, I consider it respecting some of the oldest traditions that seem to follow humans throughout time and location. I’ve learned some of the medicine practices my father was taught by the Native American medicine men of his youth. I’ve continued these things these beliefs and rituals. I’m just not sure where witchcraft begins or ends for me or if I’m that at all. Maybe I’m just a hodgepodge of different practices I’ve learned of and come across in life and developed my own understanding of. I’m not really sure I’ll find an answer to be honest since witchcraft seems to expand over so many different methods. And maybe it’s ok to not label what I do as such. Not necessarily due to any sense of shame or stigma.
Your point at 10:40 ish is very true, i wanted to give witchcraft a go a while ago, so i went online and look at all the stuff, and very quickly got confused and gave up. There were so many rules or facts that didnt make sense to me (like how sunlight and moonlight have different powers even though moonlight is just reflected sunlight, so its powers should just be diluted version of sunlight) and if i ever googled “beginner witchcraft tips” all it would ever come up with was “RESEARCH” which is true, but what spesfic things, what sites can i trust, what do i do after ive researched, theres so many things youre telling to me research, etc. I just got overwhelmed and gave up. Though today i decided i should give witchcraft a second chance (not sure why, just had a feeling), but take it slower and do what i feel makes logical sense. So im just perusal some articles toaday, and write down some stuff on a digital book of shadows, thats it. Not going to overwhelm myself this time. Give it a fair chance.
I am learning moon phases in my science class, so I basically have a head start with astronomy and the phases of the moon. I really want to learn how to make helpful and peaceful spells, i also want to be able to make potions and be a natural healer. However, I really have fallen in love with witchcraft associated with the sea, and talking to creatures! But for now I am studying and paying close attention to the history of witchcraft and astronomy. Have a good day!! 🫶🏼
People have always called me a witch, and I have always thought so as well, I have always been interested in making concussions with herbs, I don’t know how, but I just know when and what yes to make for people to make them feel good. I just need to study, and make it formal, I would need some advice on choosing some books please, something that is easy to digest, i a lot online and I don’t know which to pick. You really inspire me a lot, thank you . Would you be doing some courses, i will gladly register for it🥰🥰
Thank you💕 This may sound strange, but it’s true. If you SING🎼 to the SUN🟡 of LOVE💓 and THANKS, the SUN will answer you with stronger HEALING RAYS. It’s miraculous, DIVINE. You can use any tune, just add your own words of LOVE and THANKS. The more you do, the more you will see, our LIFE GIVING, LIVING LIGHT. The SUN needs us, like we NEED the SUN. Please sing some LOVE. Thank you again. Wishing you LIGHT and LOVE always✨💖
I want to be a real witch! And this is really helpful! To all my fellow witches out there maybe those who practice divination I feel as though I am being followed By crows No matter where I look there always seems to be a crow near me And some of my friends They swoop extremely low to our heads And watch us from poles and fence posts What does this mean?
Hi, did you just say inter-web things? Half joking but If i may, i believe you are referring to spell-ing. Something people may do in curs-ive. Even possibly in a book of grammer, or grimoire, with a bind-ing. Without being a witch, you can do all these things also. There’s levels above being titled. I think you are a wonderful person without being part of a craft. Create your own. If you would like to talk more about these things please get ahold of me. I think you have a passion for teaching but we all still have much to learn. Maybe we can help eachother. Thumbs up by the way.Great vid.I love people sharing their intelligent views and ideas. What you are doing is very natural. All of these things, paying attention to energy, playing out what you want with ritual and belief, giving thanks or appreciating the powers around us. Not soul-y in witchcraft, just to be sure, or any religion for that matter.
hey 🙂 so im 16, she/her and during lockdown (woo) i got really intrested in witchcraft. i love love love nature, crystals and all things spiritual – i DO know that that isnt just what being a witch is haha, just so you know. but i really dont know how to start and i dont really want to do anything dangerous so i would really appreciate some tips please 🙂 have a good day :))
Is it advised to cast a few spells in one day? I find when I am in “mood” I am most powerful so I tend to do a couple or few and always wondering if that is a bad idea or not. I suffer from severe narcolepsy so my energy is very low and I just don’t know if my current method of casting numerous spells back to back in the same day is something that will backfire. If you could tell me what you know on this question/your opinion etc I would really really appreciate it! <3 Thank you so much for sharing your well of knowledge, I have not found another website with this consistency of content for witchcraft. Much appreciated 🙂
notes im taking 🙂 witchcraft : practice of magical workings – take ur time and explore, don’t label yourself right away – start a book of shadows (book of knowledge as a witch) most witches use this book to keep track of their understandings and magical workings – first thing you should do when you start your witchctaft journey! – where do u start? that’s up to you. the book of shadows is the place I recommend creating your checklist and documenting your findings – mediate or draw a daily tarot card, or add to your book of shadows or cleans your crystals. daily doing it helps you stay connected, if you send a day with your cards and draw one daily and take some time with the card you’ll soon know all of them – read anything you can on witchcraft – take your time. witchcraft can take a bit or a long time to understand. take your time to study. pick one thing and learn about it, and move on to the next. it’s okay to not know right away.
This feels spiritual. I’m thinking about developing engineering skills too. Imagine that. I’ll be a witch, scientist, and a theologian. That’ll be rare. Though the Bible didn’t specifically tell us what witchcraft we shouldn’t use only to not communicate with the dead. So I’m gonna go with that. I’m only gonna communicate with God and my inner spirit.
First off, I’m still a beginner and didn’t attempt any sort of spells!! This juste happened and I have questions. I feel, weird. To say the least. I got into witchcraft a while ago and fell back into it again after my mental health spiraled the deep end. For some context, I always felt somewhat drawn to it and never talked about it to people. And now I’m quite, scared? I lost my grandma to sickness a few years ago, and today I decided to light a candle before meditating and set it back onto my altar that I set up yesterday. The flame was small and quite still before starting, but when I opened them again, the flame got really flickery and tall. I quickly checked and it apparently meant an entity is close to the candle. I took my pendulum and asked if there was an entity, the answer was yes. I asked if it wanted to harm me or my family, it said no. And after a while I learn that the entity is my grandma, she’s not here to harm us (my grandma’s a sweetheart) and that she’s my guide in my spiritual journey and she said that we had witches ancestors in our family??? I feel great that I could interact with her but I’m also quite shaken, it hasn’t even been a month since I got back into witchcraft, but I’m grateful she’s here!
Physics, biology, geology, astronomy, history, sociology, etc. are what one should start with. Yes, they may seem mundane and boring, but the practitioners of the past were scientists and historians first and foremost; in their later years. Dreaming and whimsical fantasy starts during childhood, and as one grows older they realize that there’s more to magic(k) than imagination. Doesn’t mean that one should lose their “What if?”, just means that one should expand on it. Think “Peter Pan meets Sherlock Holmes”. 😉
I really love your articles. I’m a beginner witch. I still struggle with faith in my magic spells but I’m still learning from my mistakes. I am hoping to find what I am meant to do with witchcraft when it comes to how I should practice witchcraft I really don’t know what kind of witch I would be but if im able to call myself one kind I would be a solitary witch. I do practical things and do other things like drinking coffee and I plan on doing bath rituals especially sleeping magic. Anti nightmare spells I can practice. I just need to study and my book of shadows I wrote. I can’t find the old ones but that’s ok. Hopefully they weren’t thrown away.
My friend and I are thinking of getting into wicca, issue is we’re both minors so we don’t necessarily have access to a lot of things for this. Thank you for these tips! They’ve really helped! Also: is shifting a common thing in wicca? I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere but it seems like something im drawn to.
Thank you so much for this article, I have always been drawn to wicca teachings, and divination especially. but knowing where to start can be the most challenging part (more so if you dont have any people who share your ideas) So i found this article helpful. I feel less rushed, like i can take my time now 🙂
I have always been intrigued by the magical powers of witchery and I often identified so much with witches but never had the courage to explore more until a few months ago. I also have started studying tarot and pendulum. I am in love with every aspect. I’m still studying and learning more. I love your website!!!! Its so peaceful!!!
I’ve just found witchcraft, and it’s something that I realize I’ve always been drawn to. I love gardening and meditate as I do it. I’ve always been fascinated by crystals. I’ve made little jars that I thought were just for fun at the time. I have always been super into herbs and have wanted a motor and pestle for ages. I have a stone that helps me concentrate. I have always been in love with candles and thought they were soothing. I am super interested in incense. This has helped inspire me to find my way to begin my journey
i’ve always felt kind of drawn to witch craft but i didn’t think i’d have the money or time to get into it. idk why but today it just clicked that it’s something i want to begin doing, as i’ve felt something missing over the past few months. i have a new job now so i think i’m going to slowly start incorporating witchcraft into my life 🙂 super excited to join this community
I just found your website, and I absolutely love it. I’m really interested in all of it to be completely honest and like you said I’ve been studying it! When you were talking about making a journal I was surprised because I was thinking of making one myself just so that I could keep track of everything ! You’re amazing and I’m going to watch all your articles 🤩
Funny enough, I didn’t know what a book of shadows was but I had a book I wrote what I wanted out of my witch craft My list; -hexes, just so that people quit messing with my friends cause I worry sometimes -understand as much as possible about the afterlife cause I want to see what happened to my grandparents -try to contact my grandparents cause no one will tell me what happened to them. All I hear is old age, but I just want to make sure they were ok and to say good bye -see if I can give comfort to my friends cause like I said… I worry about them. Using stuff like tarot or little things. Even if it doesn’t work I want it to let feel like it does
Hi Fellow Witches, I think I’m an empath (I can sense/feel spirits, emotions, vibes/energies etc. I have lucid dreams from time to time, nightmares, and dreams mostly every night. Most of my dreams have messages/warnings that I’ve ignored and got myself into trouble as well, and the list goes on). I just woke up this morning and went into my pinterest, saw a pic about witchcraft and felt drawn towards it. I also read about the types of witches and felt that I’m more attracted to “Eclectic Witch” type. I’m curious about getting into the practice but kinda afraid because of all the negative stuff that was fed into my mind by Christianity (I’ve left the faith already). My husband is deathly afraid of the word “witch” and thinks that if I start practising, every bad thing in the world will happen 😅 I feel that me being drawn towards witchcraft is a calling/invitation. Is there anybody who can help me reveal whether witchcraft is for me or not?
I was soo into witchcraft when I was a pre-teen.. Made myself a huge Book of Shadows and did a lot of daily rituals. Then someone told me I was being stupid, and I stopped.. I tore out all of the pages of my Book of Shadows, and threw them out. I’ve always wanted to come back to it, but I still have that nagging voice telling me I’m stupid. 🙁 I really loved every bit of it, and it’s something that keeps me awake still, after almost 20 years. I’m trying to get back into it, in small steps, but I have no idea where to start..
Very cool young Lady, I have subscribed very encouraging….I will watch more in my free time but right off the bat, The Book of Shadows – by Catherine Ross – is it okay to name mine this? This is essentially my healer / witch diary right? I’ve started and stopped diaries all my life, now I’m 60 years old, I REALLY don’t know where to start LOL! HELP!
For years I’ve been interested in witchcraft, but I don’t think I can’t do it. I have an extreme form of aphantasia, which is a condition where a person cannot visualization or create mental images. In other words, I cannot visualize at all and I cannot even dream. The only thing I can do is describe things in words. I’ve been trying to train myself for years, but have no results. Is there some ANY of witchcraft that doesn’t involve visualization… or is it impossible for me to become a witch?
I managed to get an old and pretty bottle of maple syrup with a tiny and cute handle on its side and I was like “wouldn’t it be fun if I put a potion in it” so well here I am, about to fulfill my childhood dream- edit an hour later: what the hell does casting a circle mean?😭😭 I can only find the Wikipedia page and I have no idea what blogs to look up for… idek what I should be looking up TT help me
I just found your page. Have you ever been taken back where you find yourself almost in a dream state because you just noticed something so obscure? That happened to me while perusal this article. I had to pause it so that I could gather my thoughts and try to make sense of them. Call it deja vu or that fuzzy state of mind that says to you, “Do I know this person?” Of course that can’t be possible, it must be some kind of energy connection. Well, whatever it is, I must say I have liked all of your articles I have watched this morning, which started with your Spell Jars article. I must explore this further because of two things. For some inexplicable reason, I can’t toss out little jars. I peel the paper labels off and save them. In addition to this, I have been into photography for a long time. Back when film was used. I would save the little black plastic film containers, and being that if I was taking pics I was most likely on a travel vacation. So what I would do is fill each little container with sand or soil of the location I would be presently at. Then, label the container with the location. Sand from beaches all over the world, soil near ancient archeological structures, graveyards, and so on. Thanks for the article which has obviously explained why I have been saving little jars. Now, to find your article on Spell Bags. Thanks again. You have a gift of communicating with sincerity.
I don’t know if this means anything but ever since I was a child I’ve almost named everything. Giving even inanimate objects names…right now I have a collection of 3 sticks I have found on my walks all with names…I will only bring a stick or branch home if feel good vibes from it. And just this morning I woke up feeling the urge that I should go look for another….I know I am crazy…

Can you be a Witch and also be anothor faith at same time,
Hey, Annie, not sure if you still reply to this thread. I see you mentioned visualisation; I sincerely struggle with holding an image in my mind for long or vividly, and because of it, I shied away from actually practising. But I realised that it is also largely about intent, and one thing I do have a strong affinity to is to feel. So, I feel my images, if that makes sense. If I cannot see an image, I will feel it. And it is only something that I am beginning to use. I spent years NOT practising because I could not visualise. Not I FEEL. That being said, do you know of any ways a person can develop visualisation skills?
Long story short I have always been different in the sense that my intuitive is way stronger than anyone around me. Inside I jump up and down like HELLOOOO!!! but I grew up Christian and naturally have strong attachment to spirituality but never seen their beliefs as honest. Not fully. I’m learning, only want love and light and God and the cross will always be in my home because I identify with it as protection love, justice. If that makes sense??? I want to see it all. I am empathic and it can be a lonely journey so I want to dabble in tarrot and spirit. But I also love herbs and a big believer that what u put in ur body is so important even tho I don’t always follow it.
It might be a silly question, but what are potions for? Do you drink then to evolve or heal, or you just make it and do spellwork to manifest something. I am perusal some of your articles but I am confused sometimes. How does magic work? Does it work? I am just interested, please answer, I wanna learn, because these things make me excited
As an ex Christian I’m finding all the fear mongering around witchcraft was meant to keep us from our true power and magic within. Also have yet to see an ugly witch with warts on her nose😂 Finally realizing I’ve been into witchcraft for years and never knew it. Started out with herbs n potions. Are there any warnings or no nos to worry about? Your gorgeous girl❤
I figured out a cool method for Book of Shadows when you have a sudden finding and you just want to jot it down without ruining you nice book. You have a dump journal. When you have an idea or something you learned in “herbalism” for example, you can add a little leaf in the corner of the page or any symbol you like to symbolize that this is for herbalism. If you want to put something in for the moon, you have another unique symbol for that. When you have filled your dump journal with a bunch of spells, rituals, recipes etc. you can easily look though and find all the pages for one subject and prepare you nice Book of Shadows with that one section. This way you do not feel pressured to need to have your Book of Shadows figured out before you start your Book of Shadows. If that makes sense.
