As Clerics Level Up, Do They Receive Extra Spells?

Clerics do not learn spells but prepare them and have access to the cleric table. They can cast more prepared spells than wizards, but they do not gain extra spell slots. As they level up, they gain access to higher levels, such as one additional 1st level spell slot, two new 2nd level spell slots, and expanded access to the domain.

Clerics can prepare a list of cleric spells for each level they have spell slots. For example, a 3rd-level cleric can choose any 1st level cleric spell they want for that day/adventure. However, they cannot get anything they couldn’t already have, so it doesn’t make their character more powerful.

When choosing a number of cleric spells, choose a number equal to your Wisdom modifier and your cleric level (minimum of one spell). The chosen spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For example, if you are a 3rd-level cleric, you have four 1st-level and two 2nd-level spell slots.

In summary, clerics have access to all of the spells at the level they can cast and below, but they also have more prepared spells than wizards. As they level up, they gain access to higher levels, and they can choose any first-level cleric spell they want for that day/adventure.
