📹 50 Dollar Tree Hacks that BEAT Amazon
In today’s video. I share amazing home hacks using items from Dollar Tree that are just as good, if not better than those you can …
I bought my dog the Rope toy from the Dollar Tree and found out that the strings were going down her throat as she would bite and tear the Rope toy up and when she pooped she pooped the strings I actually had to pull the strings out her butt which would really hurt her she didn’t bleed or anything so I stopped buying them so I do not advise anybody to buy string toys from anywhere for their dogs
Dollar tree is one of my favorite stores to shop. I have three Dollar tree stores near my house and if i can’t find it in one, ill visit the next. I sell handmade candles, so I but a lot of my office business supplies there and all my candle vessels at the Dollar tree. I also buy many of my home cleaning supplies like toilet cleaner, dawn soap, multipurpose cleaners, microfiber cloths to clean my car and bath, etc, carpet deodorizer and I love their party supplies, birthday cards, gift bags, seasonal decor. I love their coloring books and preschool activity workbooks for children, my son just turned 4 and he is learning math and to write numbers and letters by tracing them. They also have nice socks that are very soft and comfy. I do have the bowl with the handle for pancakes or for mixing food. Their disposal foil pans are awesome. I would like to buy those square vegetable containers to store fruit and veggies. I don’t really buy anything of Amazon anymore, I go online to google to compare prices or ill go to Ross they also have sales and qualify products.
I love all these ideas. They would be great if I lived alone. However, my husband and son aren’t into this. I’ve put labels on spice containers. One for Spanish, one for Asian, one for everyday spices. Took me 2 weeks to find the salt shaker. It was with the tomato sauce. Have a sharps drawer and utensil drawer. Once a week I used to straighten it up. Now, I don’t care. I have no idea where all the towels have gone. I wear mismatched socks – as does everyone else in the family. I refuse to wrestle the mate to my sock off my husband’s foot.
I am so jealous of your Dollar Tree. It is so big and clean and organized. I almost want to get a job there so I could help whip it into shape. I won’t be able to make it bigger but maybe make it appear so. And encourage the others to take pride in our store. We are a old small town. Have to drive 40 mins to get to another Dollar Tree. Love, love, love your articles.
A few months ago I used those same items to store my purses…with the exception that since several of my wider purses are also taller I turned the shelves upside down so the legs are pointing up. My wider purses fit about three in between the legs without falling over. The smaller/narrower purses go in the divider rack.
I love DT TRY ME or Travel size toiletries. I have a pretty basket in my Guest room I put these items in, I also added a Sleep Mask, mini sewing kit, I also have a personal flash light for emergencies, I Have pets so i have a “Lint Roller” in my basket. Guests Love these things. Very helpful when they forget to pack something.
Hello, really enjoyed the article. May I please make a suggestion? For safety, when you were storing your tableware I noticed that all the blades of the knives were pointing up. Store them blades down so you don’t accidentally cut yourself. Sorry just one more thing. When scraping food off a cutting board use the backside of the knife not the blade side. This will save the blade from dulling faster and save the board’s surface at the same time.
2:15 Great tips but gently whisk in the dry ingredients and allow them to be slightly under-mixed. I use inexpensive pancake mixes and fix them by adding a few big dollops of sour cream to the batter, 1/8 tsp more baking powder and a tablespoon of sugar (preferably turbinado) lightly stirred in it and you will get a soft, slightly sweet, creamy, fluffy pancake that will taste like a pastry chef would have made it. Top with Nutella for best results! That’s my daughter’s favorite version. ❤Also, wanna know a secret to making the fluffiest OMELETS? Add a big dollop of the unsweetened pancake batter and whisk that it. It’s actually IHOP’s secret to their pancakes. 😅
I showed the ice cream scoops on my website…. they came from Walmart and were originally priced around $4.98….. (our stores left the walmart price tags at the top of the plastic strips they came on) I purchased 2. sadly they are not all that great. Ours were both broken within 6 months time 🤷♀️ Then the egg shelves didn’t fit my shelf-I couldn’t win in the kitchen department lol The fan blade cleaner also didn’t f It 😂 I still like it to dust hard to reach places so it wasn’t a total loss.
Hello what a great article. Thank you. For me the drying racks are so light and flimsy that when you have one or two lids it falls over. I personally do not like them. I also like regular size pancakes, so I would suggest using the little round containers with lids that are hanging around the store in packs of 4 or 5 and they are great too and bigger than the ice cube tray. 🙂 I hope this is helpful a little.
I have been sitting here screaming “noooooo” like a maniac because I’m a hack freak and lately I have lost my creativity. The cake on the lid made me scream the loudest. Ok, so I need space. I have dumping to do but need storage for neatness so I’ll be hitting the new Dollar Tree that just opened up a couple blocks away and TEAR…..IT…….UP!!!! Thank you I’m subbed here now.
A hack for dusting your fan blades: slip an old T-shirt completely over the blade (you’ll need to be on a ladder if it’s high obviously) and wipe the dust down into the shirt, so none of the dust falls onto the ground or your bed, dinner table, couches etc, or if you have allergies and just don’t want dust flying around in the air! Works really well if you’ve put it off for awhile and they got extra dusty 😂
I’m in 🇨🇦. There are two $ Trees at either end of town. Everything here is $1.50. The other day I saw a couple of items for $1.75, so prices are very slowly creeping up.There are no bonus areas ??? in either store. There are so many items shown in American stores that just can’t be found in 🇨🇦. However, this was so extremely helpful. It gives specific items to at least look for. I love that when you find something that you are not sure will work, that you try it out and tell us whether you think it is a good buy or not!!! Fantastic!!! So many useful hacks. Have a few that I am going to get on this afternoon. Thank you!!
I use Dollar Tree lidded plastic pitchers to store Bisquick, 10x sugar, Semolina flour and corn meal. BUT best of all I proof bread dough or flatbread dough or English muffin dough in them. I can watch it rise. I buy the galvanized frame and add magnetic hooks and put my measuring spoons on it (Adhere to inner cabinet door.) Love your website.
Your tip with the Parmesan lid fitting the mason jar, the Parmesan jar itself fit my mason jar blender that I bought at Hobby Lobby! I looked for months trying to find😃 a mason jar to fit the blender lid and nothing would work! It just spilled all over the place. Thank you! Now if I ever break the jar, I have the Parmesan container in different sizes to fit it! 🙃
Hi 👋 This is my first time seeing your article. I found it because I was just looking up news about $ 🌲 and have just learned that prices are going up again. Never seen $🌳 + Before either!! Anyway, I like many of your hacks, they are genius! Some you have to be careful about because the cost simply adds up and they might not be as cost effective. I just want to mention that using glass for storing items, cutting and mixing is best, unfortunately plastic leeches and scraping and mixing in a plastic container, particles will come off the bowl and into your recipe. All in all Keep up the Great Tips!
I watched your ENTIRE article. That earned a subscription from me. Thank you. That and I do LOVE dollar tree. Why pay more when you don’t have to. I do love Amazon too bc I’m addicted to Prime article and for convenience of delivered to the door…it’s my second BFF. I’m sorry but it’s hard to break up with that one.
Some of these are pushing it. I was shopping yesterday and there was a Michael’s next to the Dollar tree. I buy my jute rope and nautical rope at Dollar tree, also wooden beads in a circle. 1.25 Dollar Tree. 7.99 at Michael’s. I wish I vcoukd show the pictures here. Identical. I buy a ton of things at Dollar Tree. Some are not as good as Zi would like, but mostly, they are fantastic! Dollar tree has really upped their game!
Hi Liz! Love your ideas on how to use products. In your article you show a clear container with a handle that you show storing jello in the fridge. I use these containers to store items on higher shelves. The handles make it easier to pull the container out in the higher shelves. I use them above my washer & dryer to store spare cleaning & laundry supplies. I also use them in the top shelf of my baking cabinet for things like jello, pudding, cocoa powder, etc… Thanks for your articles 😊
I’ve worked for over fifty years, because when I started work the pay was much lower than today, I receive much less than other people. Way less than a Thousand dollars per month. Oddly enough, a friend gots 900.00 per month and only worked 8 weeks of her life, our husbands made about the same amount of money over the years. So why the discrepancy in how much people receive? And guess what, five years after I’ve retired I’m back working… ( and before anyone says ” why didn’t you save?”, We did, but medical bills wiped us out.) Get help with medical bills??? Nope, made $200.00 over the amount to ” qualify” for help….. this government cares more about lining their pockets on the back side of ” aide to other countries” than they do their natural born citizens…..
This is Lorraine from Corning New York I just love perusal your articles you have a nice calming voice that I like to hear you have given me many great ideas for my home 🏡 and I really appreciate the ideas you are very pretty woman you don’t need to wear makeup to cover up that natural beauty😊😂❤🎉 I bless you everyday I want you to have safe travels while you are shopping be well and be safe and be happy I think about your articles and you often keep the articles coming they are awesome and you are awesome thank you
10 years ago I learned a craft I used to get wine bottles and liquor jars and make them into laps. Well then I started doing more with Glass. I could buy a unique pottery crock at the thrift store and I could turn that into a planter I can turn a mason jar like a colored one into a planter, I’ve gotten so good a lot. I can do for holidays or sports theme lamps. Anything that needs a hole? I’ve gotten pretty good at making it with the diamond bit cutter and I am addicted to the small leftover glass comes in like mushrooms or something unique pesto, I will wash them Jar labels out and I will use them for you Candy. I could use them for Medicine like muscle cream one muscle cream a small container. I’m really love to save Glass. I’m really good at it. I’m really good at recycling but glasses probably my favorite and those plastic containers do a lot of stuff with them, the container with baby wipes I use them dryer sheets I do gardening so I even save some plastic for whatever for my gardening fertilizer pallets are all kinds of stuff
OMG, all that plastic everywhere. It’s not for me. I make ice cubes in stainless steel ice cube trays. I dont use zipper plastic bags or any plastic wrap. I understand dollar tree is for low budget dupes, but I really am staying away from plastics, so most of the stuff there, I wouldnt buy. We are trying to reduce microplastics in our body not add to it. We will do without.
Those rug non slippers that you just showed are terrible. I tried them based on one of the DIY You tubes. Not yours but they do not keep the rugs from slipping as they stick to the floor but not the rug, so the rug keeps slipping & then your foot catches on the floor slipper preventer. Been there done those.
