Magic bands are a popular feature at Disneyland Resort, but they are not currently supported at Disneyland Paris. Only MagicBand+ is supported at Disneyland Resort, and MagicBand and MagicBand 2 are not supported at the resort. MagicBand usage is limited to a few features in the theme parks only. Guests who have MagicBand 2.0 cannot use the older MagicBand.
MagicBands can be linked to tickets through My Disney Experience, and they can function as your room key, park ticket, or dinner ticket. However, older technology, such as the original MagicBand or MagicBand 2, is not supported at Disneyland.
Disney World MagicBand+ was introduced in October 2022, but it has a limited set of functionality. Guests can use MagicBands to access their rooms, use them as tickets to enter the parks, and enjoy dinner at the resort. Disneyland Paris does not currently support Magic Bands, and there is no news that these bands will be coming to Disneyland Paris.
Guests can use the same MagicBand+ (and MagicBand+ only) at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and on Disney Cruise Line ships. The MagicPass is a multi-purpose card that contains your room key, Disney Park Tickets, any purchased Premier Access passes, and Meal Plan entitlements.
In November, a CM spoke to about the potential use of magic bands for wearing bracelets at Disney World.

Do MagicBands from 2015 still work?
The older MagicBands are still valid for use in Walt Disney World, but they may be drained of their magical energy and no longer work. They can be out of power by the time you visit in fall. There is no way to test this at home, and batteries cannot be replaced. The recommendation is to bring your current MagicBands with you and see if they work. If they do, you can use most of what the new MagicBand+ bands can do, but not everything. Some interactive adventures may not work with the older bands, but this may not be important to you.
What is the difference between MagicBand and MagicBand Plus?
The MagicBand represents the inaugural iteration of the band, offering convenient park access and virtual queues. The MagicBand+ incorporates additional features, including haptic and light functionality, interactive park activities, and enhancements to its predecessor’s capabilities.

📹 Magic Band: will we get them in Disneyland Paris? | And some exciting channel news!
Is Disneyland Paris going to use the Magic Band? It’s a frequently asked question, but instead of the magic band Disneyland Paris …
The Magic Pass is actually the exact same thing Walt Disney World got 2 years before Magic Bands were introduced. It IS basically the exact same thing as a Magic Band, but in a card form. Magic Bands are more sustainable and more easily kept on you, reducing the need to take your wallet. While the Magic Bands in Florida have double NFC chips in them, making it a possible privacy issue with the tracking, a single chip version for Disneyland Paris is the first logical step. Also, you do not need to return your Magic Pass. At this moment Disneyland Paris is taking the exact steps Disney World took before the introduction of the Magic Bands. So unless they opt for something like Disneylands App driven features, the Magic Bands are and will be the next step, no matter what they might say at this moment (especially since they are now starting to replace the turnstiles, just like WDW did right after introducing their “Magic Passes”). Fun fact: there is actually a Disneyland Paris themed Magic Band already available for Walt Disney World.
Yay articles twice a week!! That’s amazing guys, looking forward to it! 🤗💕 on Saturday we’ll be going to Paris and starting Monday we’ll be in DLP for 5 days 😍 I’ll definitely rewatch some of your articles beforehand, it’s been almost 2 years since I’ve been there last time! Keep up with the great content! 😁👍🏻
How about See you OFF Main Street? Or Wednesday wonders or “There’s no place like home?” Just a few ideas. We love following you guys and we do go to DLP a few times a year (and vlog) but have yet to bump into you. Loved how emotional you were in your hotel tour vlog…that’s Disney magic for you. Thanks for sharing some great stuff and hopefully one day we will SEE YOU ON MAIN STREET! ☺️
Love the idea for another article, you guys are so much fun – and informative! I wish DLP would use Magic Bands – maybe not exactly the same system as in Florida, but if I remember correctly they spent US$ 2 BILLION developing the Magic Band system! One thing I think a lot of people overlook with the Magic Band discussion is how good they are for children! If a little child gets lost and upset, cast members can scan their band, find out who they are, where their family is booked to be next. Older children can have much more freedom with a magic band and permission to buy themselves snacks etc. Magic Bands are secure, too – if your band gets lost, that band is de-activated and your details immediately transfer to a new one (but – a boring grey one! So it’s important not to lose your pretty one, kids!) A little customising magic bands tip for Europeans going to Disneyworld – there’s a shop called Pylones, in Paris, also in London, I’m sure many other places too – that sells a cute little watch that’s shaped like an alarm clock, that’s meant to be worn as a ring. This will fit nicely on the magic band – then you can tell the time, rather than checking your wrist and seeing “Mickey o’clock!” My biggest problem with the magic band in the past was it feels like you’re wearing a watch but it’s not. And you can’t cover the centre of the band because that’s the sensor, but my little alarm clock-ring was really useful!
Hey guys, great article. I also would prefer the Magic Bands but at Disneyland Paris they told us that there System doesn’t match witch the USA one. We also ask (at the Newport Bay Hotel) what we should do with the Magic Pass after leaving the Hotel on the last day. The receptionist told us: ” Please keep them. It is a gift from the hotel.” I don’t know if they changed it know. We was there last October PS: I love your articles! Cant wait to see DLP again on the end of September. Your articles will help me to wait for the next vacation. Hope to see you there. <3
I love your articles! Thank you so much guys! My husband and I love going to Disneyland and our experience with the Magic Pass is that we have never had to return them. Everything on it just expires (room key, entry tickets…). During check in we had our credit card connected to it and were then able to use it for payment in shops, restaurants, cafes etc. You have to settle the bill during check out and they didn’t ask for our magic passes back. But so far we’ve always had an extra room key because the door locks in most hotels haven’t been updated yet.
Hi there.… you guys are great and now will look forward to your Wednesday treats from Disneyland Paris but just a thought but could we have a Disneyland Paris background instead of a brick wall behind you both or Disneyland Paris posters they have for the attractions such as Peter Pans Flight, Mad Hatters Tea Cup Ride…. just looks more fun but keep up the good work you two…. Well done
Sorry, but I’m not a fan of this episode. Why? It’s too long. You have given your opinion and information about the Magic Band, which was excellent, but then it’s missing the point. You could have had a better vlog in 6 minutes, than in 16. More is not always better. I hope you’re not bitter by this, cause I’m giving this advice, because I really love your vlogs in general. Only, not this episode. With best regards…
I think the main thing I like about Magic Bands is how convenient they are on your wrist; so easy to tap for meal credits, FP+’s etc. Having switched from WDW to DL California the last couple of summers it was a pain going back to having a park ticket and separate room key. The card form DLP have seems like close substitute, looking forward to testing this out in DLP in the Autumn.
very good news 🙂 looking forward for the articles… now you confused me a little: when we where in DLRP in November and stayed in sequia lodge we got a Magic Pass, our pass was our doorkey, our mealplan voucers, we cloud use it as fastpasses, our parktickets, contained our names basically everting you talked about…so is Sequia one of the first Hotels to handle it that way?
Hi guys, great article. I was there a couple of weeks ago and the card did everything, room key, access to the golden forest lounge, meal plan, I could connect my cash card to it and park tickets, the only thing it didn’t do was the fast passes and photo passed but I’m sure that will come soon. I liked the card as I never wear things on my wrist but I always wear my pin lanyard so I just attached it to my lanyard. Oh and I got to keep it I asked and was told that the room entry would deactivate at checkout time and all other things would deactivate over the day
I love magic bands and I’m bamboozled that they don’t have them anywhere else!! Yes you can use the card – but we had PhotoPass and used approx 5 fast passes per day so it’s fair to say we’d have to whip out our card a lot but with the wrist band – bam it’s done. It was also cool as it noticed the chip so it’d automatically send the photos to you without having to actually pick it up – although in the US they don’t have photo booths in the same way but areas where you tap your card or band to get the photo on PhotoPass. Also magic bands just look AWESOME
In september i went to Disney and stayed at hotel cheyenne. We had the magic pass there en i thought it was a nice and easy thing to have. And i actuale have it still at home. I didn’t have to leave it there. Im going again to Disney 10-12 march en i think we will have the pass also then. And ofcourse u hope to “see you in mainstreet”
This article is perfect! You guys always make articles on the topics I need! I was researching this question and I couldn’t find much information, the other parks kept popping up. Maybe you guys know the answers to these too: Is it necessary to book restaurant reservations and fast-passes 60 days in advance in low season? it seems crazy early to me. Another very specific question: do they have a celebration button for graduation? (guess why im going haha)
Love this idea. Always happy to have more content from you. I’d love some more in depth restaurant reviews, trailer discussions, film reviews etc. I have a question for you – do you like it when Disney put copies of rides into other parks like Ratatouille going to Epcot and Tron to Magic Kingdom, or do you prefer parks to have exclusive experiences? Love your website. Always fun. 😄
It’s not completly true. You can keep the pass and if you’re staying in a hotel you’ll have your name on It etc. Also Disneyland will get the magicband. But all the systems has to change, the fastpass system, the entery system, hotelsystem. Everything the magicband will cover has to change. Disneyland comment on the magicband question that they will get the magicband. But that it will take some time and it’s really expensive. They also said that they’re first focusing on the Marvel themed section of the parc.
