Can Byuakugan’S Chakra Cloak Cause Blindness?

The Byakugan, a dōjutsu, is a powerful tool that can see chakra better than the Sharingan. Its ability to see chakra is a significant advantage, as it allows users to avoid blind spots, predict movements, and exploit weaknesses that would otherwise go unseen. When activated, the Byakugan eyes can see in a 360 degree dome around the user, with only a narrow, narrow view.

The Byakugan also grants exceptional visual abilities, ranging from X-Ray vision to chakra pathway perception. Users can choose to seal or forcibly open tenketsu when struck, giving them complete control over their opponent’s chakra system. There is a “second stage” called Tenseigan, which has its own Chakra Mode, on par with Naruto’s Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.

However, the Byakugan can cause eye strain if continuously used, and its abilities are simple nearly 360 degree, telescopic vision. It can be disabled through exessive stimulation, such as flash grenades or chakra flares. The Byakugan can also see a person’s chakra flow and several chakra points throughout the body.

In summary, the Byakugan cannot read anyone’s mind, but its base abilities are superior for everyday civilian use and do not require major emotional trauma to activate. The Byakugan’s unique abilities allow users to see a person’s chakra flow and several chakra points throughout the body.

What is a golden Byakugan?

A Bōenkyō Byakugan is a golden Byakugan that is awakened by members of the Ōtsutsuki clan who consume the Byakugan of a fellow clan member. After the initial activation period, the user can switch between the two eyes at will. Many Bōenkyō Byakugans are activated when they turn into chakra fruits when they come of age.

The Bōenkyō Byakugan retains all generic abilities and can temporarily shrink their near-360º vision to project their vision, allowing them to see anything they want from vast distances. Some Bōenkyō also grant unique abilities, such as Sukunahikona and Daikokuten.

Bōenkyō Byakugans can be transplanted into non-Ōtsutsuki or those who have not awakened the eye. In these cases, the Bōenkyō becomes paler yellow and gains a distinct pattern, resembling a dharma wheel. Non-Ōtsutsuki who obtain the eye may find their chakra significantly strained.

Bōenkyō Byakugans are heavily demanding of their chakra, making members who have consumed chakra fruits more successful at using them for long periods.

Can the Byakugan see through walls?

The Byakugan, a powerful fighting creature, has a unique ability to see through walls and peer underground, making it excellent at tracking and staying on top of things. Its wide range of vision, stretching over 800 meters during Shippuden, makes it a formidable opponent. This ability can be combined with genjutsu to expand its impact to a nation, as demonstrated by Kaguya’s Infinite Tsukuyomi, a deadly weapon that Kaguya used to her full effect.

Can a Byakugan user see themselves?

The Byakugan, a kekkei genkai dojutsu, originated from the Ōtsutsuki Clan and is associated with the Hyūga Clan, descendants of the Ōtsutsuki. It is considered one of the “Three Great Dōjutsu” and is present from birth. Users with the Byakugan are typically identifiable by their unique eyes, which become featureless white only when their Byakugan is in use.

Some users’ Byakugan take on atypical characteristics, such as Imawari Uzumaki, Mukai Kohinata, Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki, Urashiki Ōtsutsuki, and Isshiki Ōtsutsuki. Imawari Uzumaki is a descendant of the Hyūga clan through her mother, but her eyes become featureless white only while her Byakugan is in use. Mukai Kohinata’s family split off from the Hyūga clan several generations before his birth, leading most to assume his bloodline was too diluted to possess the Byakugan.

Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki’s Byakugan usually appear identical to any other Byakugan but take on a golden color after absorbing Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki’s power. Urashiki Ōtsutsuki’s Byakugan also appears like any other but takes on a golden color after consuming the chakra he collected along his eyes. Isshiki Ōtsutsuki only possesses one Byakugan, in his left eye, with his right eye seemingly a different dōjutsu.

Can Byakugan see through chakra?

The Byakugan, a powerful clone, can see chakra to a greater extent than the Sharingan, allowing users to distinguish clones and identify individuals’ chakra signatures. This ability allows the Hyūga to use the Gentle Fist style of combat, which allows them to control their opponent’s chakra. In Book of Dark Night, Mukai uses the Gentle Fist to split an opponent’s chakra-based jutsu, allowing it to pass around him.

The Byakugan’s ability to see chakra allows users to determine if an opponent is performing a genjutsu, as seen in Ao’s account of the Fourth Mizukage being under the influence of a genjutsu. However, unlike the Sharingan, the Byakugan does not provide a specific defense against an opponent’s genjutsu. In Book of Dark Night, genjutsu is considered a viable method of capturing Mukai Kohinata, even with the Byakugan.

The Byakugan can increase the effectiveness of a user’s genjutsu, as seen in Kaguya’s use of the Byakugan’s vast range to subjugate entire nations. Momoshiki claims his Byakugan can read the fate of others, but he laments it doesn’t allow him to see his own.

Why didn’t Hinata awaken Tenseigan?

The equation for awakening the Tenseigan is incomplete, as it lacks a crucial variable: an Otsutsuki clan member must transplant a pure Byakugan from Hamura’s descent into their eyes.

Can the Byakugan see pressure points?

Can the Byakugan see pressure points?

The Byakugan is a blood inheritance limit of the Hyuga Clan, a founding noble family of Leaf Village. They are said to be the ancestors of the Uchiha clan, who possess the Sharingan eye bloodline. When activated, Byakugan members gain extra-sensory perception, allowing them to see the tenketsu, the internal chakra circulatory system, and have a near 360° view of their surroundings. This ability is used in conjunction with their own chakra to create the Juken Ryu fighting style.

Clan members can use their fingers or palms to emit chakra to flow into their opponents’ bodies at the tenketsu points, stopping or increasing their opponent’s chakra flow. However, if the internal coils are attacked, it can damage the internal chakra producing organs, which can be critical for even highly skilled ninjas. The tenketsu serve as connectors and exit points for the chakra pathways, and being stopped by a Hyuga clan member greatly reduces a ninja’s ability to utilize their chakra for jutsu.

Can Byakugan evolve to Tenseigan?

The Tenseigan dōjutsu is a unique dōjutsu with heightened abilities, much like a fully-evolved Rinnegan. Its visual acuity surpasses that of the Rinnegan and Byakugan, with the Tenseigan user being able to see vast distances. The Tenseigan Chakra Mode is composed of cosmic energy, and it is believed that when a Byakugan reaches levels of insight that allow the user to perceive cosmic energy, the Tenseigan awakens naturally. The Tenseigan’s abilities are vastly heightened, surpassing the capabilities of the Rinnegan and Byakugan. The Tenseigan’s limit is paltry compared to the Byakugan, which can see vast distances.

Can Byakugan users go blind?

Can Byakugan users go blind?

The Byakugan, also known as “White Eye” or “Evil Eye”, is a genjutsu technique that can blind a user for one day in real life. This technique is only effective on ninjas of the same or lower rank, but higher-ranked ninjas can break out if they realize it’s a genjutsu. The Byakugan’s sight cannot be blocked and allows them to detect anything within a 50-meter radius, making them close-range experts.

The Byakugan can only be obtained through great Rping and training, and before claiming to have leveled to stage two, a pm must be sent to assess power control. Stage 2’s do not cost extra money if already obtained stage 1.

Is the Byakugan the weakest eye?

Is the Byakugan the weakest eye?

The Byakugan, a dōjutsu with the greatest insight and clarity, surpasses even the Rinnegan in visual acuity. Its abilities are primarily related to its sight, with its primary ability being a near 360º field of vision. Initially, a Byakugan user gains an automatic 50 metre field of vision, allowing them to see for 50 meters in any direction. With intensive training, this limit can be extended to cover vast distances and magnify targets.

As the eye that sees through everything, the Byakugan can see through solid objects, darkness, smokescreens, and other forms of concealment, making stealth impossible in front of a Byakugan. However, some barriers can distort their vision, usually possessing strong or foul chakra.

The Byakugan’s enhanced perception allows the user to track fast-moving opponents, but it is still pointless without a body that can match the force. Overall, the Byakugan’s abilities are unparalleled in the world of dōjutsu, showcasing its exceptional visual prowess.

Can the Byakugan be deactivated?

Can the Byakugan be deactivated?

A transplanted Byakugan, unlike the Sharingan or Rinnegan, can be activated and deactivated at will and doesn’t drain as much chakra as the other two dōjutsu. It can also evolve into the rare and powerful Tenseigan, which was originally manifested in the Ōtsutsuki of old, including Hamura Ōtsutsuki. A Tenseigan retains all its abilities as a Byakugan but grants two unique abilities: Truth-Seeking Balls and the Tenseigan Chakra Mode. It also has superior visual acuity compared to a Rinnegan.

  • Chakra-infused projectile weaponry seems like a respectable way of increasing a Hyuga’s ranged options. I’ve been saying that a Hyuga archer would be horrifying to deal with as an opponent; you can’t sneak up on them, and if they can infuse their arrows with Wind-Nature Chakra or Lightning-Nature Chakra, then you won’t be able to take cover either… the arrows will just punch through everything on their way to you. And they can potentially do this to you from miles away, beyond the range of typical sensor-type ninja. From an offense standpoint, Hyuga archers are basically perfect for assassinations of high-priority targets. If a character isn’t named Naruto, Gaara, A, Uchiha, or Otsutsuki, then they basically have no way to defend against Chakra-infused projectiles; and those are ones they notice coming, what about Wind-Nature infused arrows from five miles away? Sure, the aftermath isn’t subtle… that still doesn’t un-kill the target. From a defense standpoint, Hyuga are unparalleled. Just station a whole team of Hyuga archers along the outer wall of Konohagakure, and watch as serious problems within and beyond the Village wall get resolved with high-velocity pointy sticks. If someone gets past the arrows? They’re still Hyuga, Gentle Fist is always going to be an option, especially for when they run out of ammo.

  • I always found it weird that the Hyuga clan were close range fighters primarily. Which is great and all, but they would make amazing snipers and I always hoped Neji would take Kidomaru’s bow because if you can see through walls from thousands of feet away you can essentially have aim bot and kill people from a distance

  • Naruto beating Neji was ultimately plot armor. Not only did Naruto use 9 tails chakra, Neji thought the battle was over after repelling Naruto with Kaiten and subsequently disabling his Byakugan. But I completely agree, there are so many missed opportunities for the Byakugan. I had expected Neji to play a bigger role in Shippuuden since he was the ONLY one from the Konoha 12 to become a Jounin. This implied that he wasn’t demotivated after the naruto battle but pushed further than anyone else.

  • Honestly speaking, Neiji should have been able to create his own variation of the Eight Gates. He learned the technique from Gai so he knows how it works. Plus Gai would help modify the technique if he asked sincerely considering that he’s his student too. Also, the Hyuga clan should be the most knowledgeable people in the world about how the human chalkra network works. Plus, the eight gates aren’t a complete technique considering that it was created by one person who was lacking knowledge in many areas. Neiji could have even used his knowledge on chalkra networks to improve the technique and mitigate it’s backlash. Would also explain why Lee is able to use it more often when he barely used it before. Finally, Hygua’s have the ability to control the flow of chalkra within their tenketsu points. Neiji could have used this knowledge, worked with Gai, and created a eight gates variation specifically for Hyuga clan members using this ability. Also, while filler, we have seen eight gate variations before with the seven heavenly breathes. Lastly, we even see Sasuke imitating Lee’s abilities after getting beaten by him. We could have Neiji do the same. After perusal Lee using the eight gates. He admits that he would have lost in a straight up fight and then puts all his attention to learning the eight gates; creating his own variation. We could even see Lee go on a quest to perfect the eight gates adding in Neiji’s improvements and adding in more improvements by seeking different experts.

  • As a Neji fangirl and fanfiction writer, these ideas are sound. I may implement and/or modify a few for a story I’m currently working on. The Hyūga deserved much more respect and reverence than what Kishimoto gave them in Shippuden, especially since they descend from Hagoromo’s twin brother Hamura. With this article, you have earned a like and a subscription. Well done.

  • Neji’s fight with Kidomaru showed the Hyuuga’s full potential too early. The main problem is that they adhere to tradition too much and don’t explore anything beyond it. I’d like if Neji and Hinata truly embodied the “Aim Higher” family motto by either creating new Gentle Fist techniques and incorporating outside jutsus like you said to help mend the relationship between the branch and main family. Especially after witnessing just how powerful the Sharingan is capable of getting. Also, rather than evolving Byakugan into something else, maybe we could’ve seen more uses for it like how Mukai Kohinata was able to see the weak point in a jutsus and destroy it or how Kagura used hers to read minds. Maybe lock those particular abilities behind needing to infuse the Byakugan with Senjutsu chakra or something.

  • I love the idea of an upgraded byakugan. The susano like cloak sounds sick. I also love the idea of neji learning the eight gates and maximizing the range abilities of the upgraded byakugan and hinata focusing on the susano like cloak and twin lions fist sounds like a great what if. It’s funny to think of neji becoming one punch man and flying through the sky. Also of them using their tenketsu points to move at high speed and make insane shots would be great sakuga.

  • Something struck me about the “rotation” ability. It kind of reminds me of the Rasengan, and while it was brief they did explain with Naruto’s first use of the Rasen Shurikan that when it struck the chakra became unstable and shattered into tiny needles that just destroyed the chakra network. I can imagine with the Hyuga’s precise chakra control and the ability to shoot chakra out of any point in their body that by simply replicating the biproduct of Naruto’s Wind ability they wouldn’t even need to touch their opponent to break their chakra network down. it would be an explosive technique that is devastating to anyone hit by it.

  • The Hyuga clan has eternally been my favorite. But some stuff that always bothered me was why they never molded chakra natures into their techniques, why they never used Genjutsu, why aren’t there more children in the clan? Lol I’m hoping Hima gets a semi dark Deku phase and reinvents what’s possible, because you know she’s about to have been adopted by her grandpa….. but so is Kiwaki…. Which is bound to set off some red flags….

  • Honestly something that I had expected to see back in the day was after the chakra point explanation about improving or shutting down chakra flow was: after seeing Neji showing off shutting it down I really thought they’d pair Neji and Lee for some 2v1 and while both are fighting Neji would slip jabs at Lee ramping him up over the course of the fight. Would’ve been a neat way to show point manipulation for Neji, a showcase for Lee’s strength, and a great team building experience for both of them. .. then Neji died 😂💀

  • Actually, I think the best way to make the Hyuuga relevant is to actually acknowledge and play with the political aspects of the Naruto-verse. Lean into it fully. The Hyuuga operating in the background, but are still living with a reminder of what happened to the Uchiha clan. A powerful clan, feared yet full of vinegar. While the Hyuuga are likened to honey. Full of decorum, rules, restrictions and aristocratic facades. The Uchiha ran hot; while the Hyuuga ran cold. This clan is one of the 4 noble clans with connections and personal treaties in other lands. And they should’ve had a major presence or at least reputation in the capital. I’ve seen this written extremely well in fanfiction. Portraying this clan as a living breathing culture with the walls of Konoha. Think about it. We have a Main branch that considers itself superior and lives worth more than their brethren. Then you have the lesser branch, walking on eggshells, indoctrinated, sometimes fearful, resentful, angry and subjugated. Sacrificial lambs for the slaughter. Yet overall the Hyuuga are massively secretive and tight fisted about their lineage and bloodlines. So, Neji would’ve never been able to marry TenTen unless he was free; which never happened in the series. Hinata married out, because it was a political and social gain for the Hyuuga to be closer to the Hokage seat by blood. Since becoming Hokage is steeped in nepotism. The Hyuuga play chess, not checkers. Next, since Neji was literally the main focus into the clan.

  • One thing the Hyugaclan was lacking was actual screentime. So the first thing I would add is that the Hyuga members could see recognice people through their chakra network. Because of that camouflage, shapeshifting or anything of that sort is hardcountered by any Hyuga member. That would have been greatly usefull during the ninja war arc because that would mean they can identify the white zetzus who infiltrated the ninja army. And because of that there would be a good reason for Hyuga members to be around everywhere on the battlefield and to be targeted by white zetzus and by other ninjas that were resurrected by edo tensai. In terms of power levels I would add 2 things – one is a way of striking chakra points without actually hitting the opponent through a short distance chakra release – something that could be told very well as part of a strategic fight where the other guy makes a point in not getting touched by the Hyuga and then it is revealed that he didn’t had to actually touch him because he knows that technique that works over a short distance. The second one is to add chakra elements to their chakra releases. This could work offensively as they could then hit somebody with a burning fist or a lightning fist or water fist and in extention to that manipulate their opponents chakra even further by for example heating up their opponents body with fire or solidifying it with stone or defensively as those releases could be added to rotation for creating a permanent ice shell with water chakra or repelling stuff further away with wind chakra.

  • If we see chakra points like pressure points, the Hyuga clan should have a unique set of healing jutsu and buffing jutsu. We already saw one seal that the Hyuga clan has, but they could have some sealing jutsu to rival the Uzumaki clan. If they do get a ranged upgrade, that means long ranged healing, seals, and buffs. The Hyuga could be downright broken

  • I just look at what Kaguya was able to do by just looking real hard at people with her Byakugon. We haven’t seen any Hyugu come anywhere close to making someone explode by forcing a huge amount of power out of themselves. Like, heavenly rotation is obviously similar to it but as you mentioned, its pretty weak and depletes chakra way too quick because its not focused. Its just disappointing to see how far that dojutsu got nerfed.

  • Neji was my favorite character from the original genin cast and I’m so disappointed in how under utilized he was. This article covers like exactly what I would want plus so much more! I pictured them being able to do a compressed air palm like an air senbon and be able to hit the tenketsu points from range. Definitely hope we see Himiwari get an MS equivalent of Byakugan. And a Twin Lion Cloak Mode would be crazy, I love that idea. I’m glad Gale Palm gets worked into Borutos fighting style though.

  • Since it is a big Clan with a side branch and being considered the backbone of their military, you could do the following. Have them have multiple skill branches that Hyuga can learn once they know the basics. You could then make the main branch follow the more “noble skills” and the side branch the supporting, protecting skill branches. E.g. Main family frontline learns chakra fighting with higher speed etc. and the side branch learns protective and interception techniques. The main family learns shooting arrows from far away and the side branch learns healing. This would feed into the dynamic of the two class system within the hyuga and Neji and Hinata could break this up by each learning a skill from the main family and side branch to showcase their personal growth and power (by having learn two advanced skills unlocked).

  • Himawari needs to learn Flying Raijin using Minato’s method of throwing kunai. With the range limitations of the Hyuga, a way to close the gap would make any of them a broken character against a lot of threats in Naruto and Boruto. I think it would be cool if Himawari studied under her Uncle Neji’s former fling, Lord 8th Tenten. Himawari could learn summoning jutsu, but focus in summoning her kunai then herself to her kunai. The Flying Sunflower comin at ya! 🤞🏽

  • “See, the Tenseigan can only ever be aquired by an Otsutsuki, when an Otsutsuki takes the Byakugan of a Hyuuga clan member…” WAIT…could Otsutsukified Boruto just pop a Byakugan in his socket and get Tenseigan as well? if yes, you almost foreshadowed Boruto getting Tenseigan with that sentence ˆˆˆ

  • Your description of a potential upgrade to the use of Rotation is something I always thought would eventually happen but they never did. Or like how in Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, a similar technique to Rotation, the Seikūken became the more refined/more efficient Ryūsui Seikūken. Another way I am surprised Hyuga never exploited their eyes is like how Transparent World in Demon Slayer is used. They’re masters of hand to hand fighting so they should be familiar with how a human body moves when it attacks/dodges/feints/ect.

  • Honestly, I think a big problem with characters from those clans, not just the Hyuga, is that they tend to feel super homogenised. Every Hyuga just uses Byakugan/Gentle Fist, every Nara uses their shadow possession, Akamichis with their expansion, Uchihas with Sharingan/Fire Style etc. None of them ever think to learn any jutsu from their chakra nature or a bit of genjutsu or.. anything? Makes them all feel like iterations of each other, and makes it super easy to just pick one character and say “yep, they’re the best from this clan cause they do the clan’s stuff better than anyone else,” whereas they could stand out a bit more if they did other things. Like, if Shikamaru learned some genjutsu to use on the people he trapped with Shadow Possession to ensure they stayed down. Or even things like you mentioned in the article about releasing chakra from tenketsu points to achieve different results like barriers or flight. Sure, it’s still derived from the Hyuga’s Gentle Fist in a way but it’s applying their skills in a new way.

  • Also the Hyuga Clan should learn Sage Mode. They’ve already got great chakra control, so it shouldn’t be that hard to learn, and injecting Natural Energy into an opponent to turn them into stone sounds pretty boss. Plus adding a slight range boost to taijutsu, with gentle fist. Oh, and the sensory boost Sage Mode provides could cover for that blind spot.

  • Buffs for Hyuuga: Add ninjutsu to the juuken. When they have close combat attacks, that attack the chakra flow and points, than, should they be even able to use Ninjutsu, that target this points. Even Sasuke attacked this points with chidori senbon in the movie. Or, Kishimotgo should maked it more clear, what the juuken can. In the novel was a half Hyuuga able, to cut a fireball with his finger, without burning himself. So, give them more attacks to destroy ninjutsu. The uchiha was strong in it. The Hyuuga was strong in meele. They would be more balanced, if the Hyuuga had attacks to destroy the ninjutsu (esspecial SUsanno should be weak agains the juuken, because it is only a mass of chakra).

  • Not gonna lie, the last ability you talked about that would mess with someone’s molding of chakra is a sick idea. It’s not even an auto gg like MS abilities, but still broken af. Idk how you came up with that, but it would’ve been a perfect “MS version of the byakugan” fits their style and everything.

  • The problem was ultimately the sharingan became the ultimate “i can do anything bullshit tool”. The orignal idea was the Sharingan gives you this ability to basically track your opponent perfectly to the point you are almost reading into the future, while it was hinted early on that it is also a buff to genjutsu users. You could also use its tracking abilities to teach yourself new jutsus quickly, so lets say you never once did water dragon, you could learn water dragon in a near instant just by perusal someone do the hand signs. Zabuza vs Kakashi being the coolest version of this display. Making this the Ideal tool for Ninjitsu specialists and later on Genjutsu. The Byakugan while not having any genjutsu buffs, and not having the level of foresight that the Sharingan offered, had a different approach in tracking people which in some ways was considered superior with the fact it basically gave you x ray vision so you knew where to hit your opponent perfectly. And with how it worked you also had near 360 degree vision making it so you had nearly no blind spots when fighting. The perfect tool for Tai Jutsu specialists. But Notice how Byakugan is the ultimate tool for Tai jutsu, while Sharingan covers both Ninjitsu and Genjutsu while also being pretty useful for Tai jutsu as well. That’s where Byakugan became worthless in comparison. Sharingan did everything. While it lacked the x ray vision of Byakugan, the fact it did everything else made it the superior ninja tool, to than be given buff, after buff after buff.

  • I actually have previously thought of an upgrade to the Byakugan… kinda. I heard in this one explanatory YouTube short about the Byakugan and its drawbacks that the reason for the veins around the eyes is because the Hyuga focus a lot of their blood into their eyes to use the Byakugan. Hence, I decided to basically combine it with the Vermillion Eye from Demon Slayer. A forbidden technique of the Hyuga clan that has them focus even more blood into their eyes, turning the sclerae a deep crimson. It enhances the user’s already-incredible visual prowess even further, allowing them to see even further than normal and, like a user of the Sharingan, precisely read the opponent’s movements and chakra flow to predict what techniques they will use. This enhanced perception allows for an absolute precision that is unrivaled in the ninja world, making the user untouchable and unstoppable… but there is a great risk, which is why it was forbidden. Overuse of the Byakugan can already leave a Hyuga temporarily blind (as seen at one point with Neji), and with this technique, one risks irreversible damage to their eyes, possibly closing one’s Byakugan forever. Eight Trigrams: Crimson Lotus

  • Ngl, they don’t need a buff. They just need to use what they ALREADY have! They can shut down your chakra, see chakra frequency which allows you to phase/cut through almost any jutsu, see through most Genjutsu, perfectly control their opponents chakra and as such turn off certain organs/muscles, can cast Genjutsu on ANYONE within their range of sight. Slap on learning extra jutsu on top of this and you get someone who can easily compete with the top 20

  • And the hyuga should be genjutsu experts, since they can see chakra they should be able to manipulate it more efficiently than any other clan (including the uchiha)and be able to break themselves out of it, I feel like it was a missed opportunity and also nick I’ve been asking for a full tenseigan vid for over a month now….when is it coming

  • One aspect of the Gentle Fist that doesn’t get brought up a lot is being able to increase the flow of chakra. The Hyuga could use it to buff team members to make their abilities more powerful due to more chakra that can be pumped into it quicker and of course draining chakra faster. Like a mini 8 Gates buff to almost anyone. They could also add nature chakra to their Rotation and turn themselves into a Rasenshuriken or whatever element they use. Given their mastery over chakra control, wouldn’t they theoretically be good at using sage chakra? I don’t know if they have the requisite large chakra pool for it though. Maybe not a full sage mode transformation but perhaps enough to buff their air palms or something. Also, Kaguya used her Byakugan to extend the range of her genjutsu. So in theory a Hyuga could do the same, as suggested with disrupting jutsu. Or combine with other ninja to increase the range of the Yamanaka clan’s mind jutsu or something.

  • My thought was to draw inspiration from the Pain Pull and Push skill, however with a focus on Chakra. That is, the first moment lets the user do an strong 1 Almighty fist that blocks incoming chakra (Fire, Water, even people holding chakra) around a 360 deegre at and max distant of 300m. This would be an uppgrade version to the spin Def move. The second move lets the user take the Chakra control to the next level, by pulling chakra towards the use, of which the user can follow up with Gentle fist…This move would solve the problem of having long distant enemies. Both of these moves have obvious weaknesses, namely the opponent must have chakra for these moves to work, which is good as these moves are too strong.

  • One additional thought I have, is that in addition to the ability to manipulate another person’s chakra to disrupt techniques, focus also be put on the penetrative aspect of their eyes. Such as, being able to see surface level thoughts or something, giving a minor battle precognition against anything that thinks. (With the mangekyo equivalent, maybe the Tsuranuku Byakygan (lit, Piercing White Eye)).

  • Easy, make a filler arc about Himawari finding that turtle that goes back in time. She tells it she wants to meet her late Uncle Neji, the turtle accepts. Time is reverted back to the war arc. Instead of Neji dying, he is greeted by Hamura and he tells Neji that he is his reincarnation and he gets 6 paths chakra, tenseigan and all that jazz

  • Everything you said is valid and all of it would have been a welcome add to the hyuga I can see Neji asking Lee for some training tips on the eight gates and hinata learning the full body cloak technique while both get the upgraded byakugan. And the senbon would definitely have fit Neji and tenten’s kid

  • I loved the Hyuuga drama a lot in pre-shippuden and always thought it was really weird that all the clans problems kinda seemed to have been resolved after the Chunnin exams? Neji’s issues with destiny were challenged but fundamentally nothing changed, I expected some follow up. Plus he was kinda implied to be one of the strongest in the gen in the exams + being the only one to become Jounin early. A really odd character to drop considering all the work done to build him up with good backstory and hyped potential. This is the fanfic writer in me speaking, but Neji should have had more interaction with Sasuke. They were foreshadowed to fight plus they are both dojustu users. Not only that they actually have a potential lead into each other’s stories with Neji being all ‘the strong are born strong and we are slaves to our fates’ while Sasuke was raised to think that he’d never surpass Itachi’s strength and that ‘his hate would never be strong enough. He would always be weak.’ We think of Sasuke as a genius, but from Sasuke’s pov he was always playing catchup to Itachi and was trying to overcome his weaknesses. But while Sasuke was willing to do anything to gain power and push past his ‘fate’ Neji was a lot more defeatist. So a fight between them could have introduced the inferiority Itach-Sasuke conflict and also been a better wakeup call to ‘you can change your fate’ for Neji than a Neji-Naruto fight that was won using Kyuubi power. Though Sasuke teaching Neji that if your willing to do anything you can make your own destiny is a mixed bag.

  • I see a lot of people saying that the hyuga would be great snipers which i think is the best option if they were to be rewritten, I have another idea. I would make the hyuga masters if chakra molding along with buffing their visual prowess even more. I would buff their visual prowess in 2 ways, I would give them the ability that you theorize madara to have that being able to discern clones from the original user and give them essentially a cellular zoom function to allow them to diagnose people (ninja doctor house). I would make them masters in general chakra molding as well, by that I mean I would give them various abilities related to this. I would first give them a counter part to the sharingans copy abilities, so instead of allowing you to copy hutus of nature transformations you know I would allow them to copy nature transformations themselves but have to learn the jutsu because they would be able to see the chakra flow and be able to copy it. The other way this chakra molding would apply is I would make them masters of shape transformation and chakra projection, them having a deeper understanding of the flow of chakra means it just makes sense for them to be talented when it comes to shape transformation, but I would let them master chakra projection as well and give them a technique similar to naruto’s chakra arms and have hinata be the one to teach him how to do this which would give them more time to connect during shippuden. I think these would be great buffs to give them because it would help scale them to early shippuden by giving them similar abilities to your hiruzen which would help solidify their place as the strongest clan on average in the leaf because even though the uchiha have stronger members if the hyuga have children who know all 5 nature transformations on average they would be stronger.

  • 1. Using more than just twin lions ( tiger, leopard, wolf, eagle, dragon) all with different special abilities 2. Allowing them to exert charka from their eyes allowing them to make their opponent feel a heavy weight or pressure and counteract ocular genjutsu 3. Sealing trigram moves 4. Cloak based on the twin animal they choose to learn 5. Dive into how they can disrupt charka flow/constructs more

  • I particularly like the idea of a chakra mode because it theoretically adresses some of the disadvantages of gentle fist. It protects the user from attacks, especially ranged attacks, without the need to remain stationary like in the rotation. Also, I’d have to imagine it would be quite useful if they unfortunately had to fight another gentle fist user.

  • At the 15 minute mark the release of the gates and use of the gentle fists made me think of the ability to website chakra natures directly into the body as an ability. Such as if your proficient in earth chakra and could release a gate to turn your body into dirt and stone but reconstruct it or your opponents making the damage they take permanent or something.

  • >Naruto wins with no special abilities or boosts Naruto literally ONLY was able to beat Neji because he had an extra chakra battery with Kurama’s chakra. Otherwise Naruto would not be able to move, let alone use any jutsu. Against a regular opponent they’d be fully incapacitated, Naruto won because of something special he was born with.

  • Good take, I think the Chakra cloak is the right idea for a improvement for the hyugah, it could even be shown before the tailed beasts cloaks to show that this concept exists and the beasts do it at a much higher level. Similar to the ressengan and tailed beast bomb. If they could make a any kind of Chakra cloak they could start modifying it in different ways, add fire nature and now it burns whoever you’re in fighting in taijutsu, wind or lightning to increase the taijutsu speed of the user. Earth element could perhaps be a weak version of kakuzus skin hardening, or a second skin like gaaras sand. I would love to see a article on who you think the best 2 man teams would be outside the ones we see in the show already. Or reorganizing the 3 man teams to make the best teams possible. Neji and Lee on the same team seems like a waste. Or you could drop tenten for Kiba and have a pure taijutsu group each with their own specialty

  • It’s not that Hinata is the only person that can use Twin Lions Fist, Its more that she’s never taught it to anyone else since she is the creator of it. If she were to teach it then anyone in the Hyuga clan with the skill level to learn it can. the question is why she never taught such an incredible skill to anyone else, not even Neji. Could you imagine a combination of Twin Lions Fist and Air Palm!

  • I actually had idea similar to what Nick said about Rotation and Twin Lion fists. Like what if Hyuga shot Chakra from the Points on their Arms and Hands, Then Spun it around their Arms like how you create a Rasengan? Imagine getting Hit like twenty times by what is basically Rasengan Hands! Plus it could still function as Rotation as well, So if you really feel like Styling on someone You can Just Punch your way through their Jutsu instead of having to Stand their and Spin around.

  • Haven’t watched the article yet, but here’s how I’d do it. In order to improve the Hyuga clan, I’d play to their strengths. They’re essentially, the opposite of the Uchiha. Where the Uchiha are Yin aligned, tha Hyuga are Yang aligned. They have their stupid OP see-through vision, good chackra control by default that only increases by training in their clan techniques and chakra aligned to yang. They’re basically born as disgustingly OP medical ninja prospects. Imagine an entire clan full of master medics. They can use gentle fist to operate inside patients without opening them up and can see through the patients to see exactly what they’re doing Their potent yang chakra would make their healing better than the average medic. They’re also good at seals. Change their curse seal with a strength of a hundred seal and the entire clan turn absolutely terrifying. Since yang chakra is substance, they could create solid chakra constructs like the twin lions but make say, bows instead. I say this because normal bows are useless and slow to high level ninja, making the bows from their chakra would make them as potent as could be sustained by the user. Like Sasuke’s susano’o’s bow. Imagine the Hyuga sniping you from 20 Km away with chakra sapping/sealing chakra arrows. Use the 64 palms arm acceleretation principle to turn that sniper into a sniping machine gun. Use from and nature transformation to create elemental arrows, like mini indra’s arrows.

  • I think it would be cool if the Hyuga could shoot chakra from their fingertips to mess with others chakra points from a distance. They would essentially be silent snipers, but not too overpowered since it would be less precise and maybe not block chakra as long as direct contact like with gentle fist

  • I’d say long range genjutsu make sense. I mean like getting hit with illusions from a km away. Wind seems to be the clans element, can be used with gentle fist. Single touch the chest injections cutting wind chakra into multiple organs. Or wind that creates a pressure bubble in the enemy and boom. And who says that the hyuga power ups need to follow their strengths? Sharingan is supposed to help you see better, copy jutsu and cast genjutsu. But MS can create black fire, manipulate spacetime, manipulate reality, create giant chakra golems and etc.

  • Love the vid. Allowed me to think of cool things thats hyuga clan members could do: 1. Combinging the air palm and twin lion fist- launching the lions as a projectile ( hyuga’s version of a hirudora) 2. Combing gentle fist with elemental release- imbue lightning release to ur fist to shock ur opponent internally or wind release to cut their tenketsu points from the inside. 3. Rotation shockwave- picture a rotating shinra tensei 4. Sage mode gentle fist- combining frog kata and gentle fist seems like it would be broken. Or the frog strike which is a shockwave of nature energy, by applying that maybe u could shut down more than 1 tenketsu with just 1 strike 5. Chakra arms- just like kcm naruto is able to use kurama chakra arms for range, imagine that in the hands of a master gentle fist user 6. Upgrade fighting technique- the gentle fist is cool and all, but what if they applied other attackes like using kicks and elbow strikes (might not be called gentle fist but would be more versatile). Imagine a kick that takes your chakra. 7. Awakening- full 360° vision with no blind spot, precognition like the sharingan, faster reaction speed ofc, as stated in the vid injecting chakra through the eyes to shut chakra network down, give who ever awakens this their own abilities (like how the ms does) so long as it can be worked into their fighting style The thought of neji punching tf out ur tenketsu points is funny 😂😂. Once again love the vid

  • Another thing the hyuga clan could do is imbue their gentle fist twin lion fist and rotation techniques with elemental releases. They could imbue rotation with fire style to scorch anybody who tries to attack them they could imbue gentle and twin lion fist with lightning chakra which could allow them to disable multiple tenketsu at once or disable parts of someone’s nervous system which could prevent them from using the part of the body attached to the nerves they disabled for example they can strike the nerves in someone’s shoulder disabling the shoulder and arm in the process

  • 7 heaven breathing. could of been what the hyuga needed. not having it as some bs filler. also the filler where Hinata uses pretty much lasers that should of been pulled into canon also. the hyuga using abilities like the uchiha would be neat because they are rivals. they should have stuff to compete with their abilities. like the susanoo. something I thought of was the 8 gates. it gives the users veins kind of like the byakugan does. maybe the 8 gates was made by the hyuga and Might Guy’s dad might of learned it from them. or maybe a Hyuga was practicing opening the 8 gates on others and just used him as a test. not meaning to teach him how but giving it to him in away. they could use the 7 heavens to use the 8 gates safely. but it being the 7 heavens it can signal that they couldn’t find away to make the 8th gate safe. might guy learning something of the hyuga and Kakashi getting the sharingan from the uchiha its a neat little mirror. but yeah the hyuga having the 8 gates but not using them unless they know the 7 heavens would be a neat little thing. like oh people can learn the 8 gates whatever let them kill themselves but we know how to use it safely. for the most part. like its a combo ability and people that learn one has to learn the other. other wise it kills them.

  • I think if they ever did reveal a byakugan version of the “mangekyou” they should get the ability to create weapons out of chakra like kinshiki did, and since their whole deal is perception and insight, maybe they could read peoples minds as well. Like they can already emit chakra from their bodies into tenketsu points with gentle fist, imagine they create a a chakra spear and stab someone’s tenketsu in the matter of like an instant. Since they’re already presented as close range experts anyway this would make them a monster up close.

  • I wish that in between Naruto and Shippuden that Neji and Rock Lee trained together. Throughout the first series Neji gets a bit of a reality check by seeing what Rock Lee can do with the Gates, and by getting beaten by Naruto. Then he wins a fight but barely survives and learns that Naruto got beaten by Sauske. This would have been a real humbling moment for Neji as he understands hes not the strongest of the 13 anymore, and in reality hes falling further and further behind. Ideally i’d love in the last moments of Pre Shippuden Naruto if Neji went to Rock Lee and asked him for help in training. Then during the time skip they work together, Neji teaching Rock Lee to use his chakra control to do things like Morning Peacock (only with air instead of Fire) and Rock Lee could teach Neji how to use the gates to improve his Taijutsu. That would let Neji do things with his gentle fist and Byakugan that no other Hyuga could while emphasizing a major theme of the show, “working together as a team improves both sides”.

  • Something I want to add in on this to make the Hyuga more connected to the story is what if Minato got the inspiration for Rasengan from a Hyuga’s rotation defense. It would expand on how something that was inspired by a clan’s technique can later be expanded on and sever chakra points with the rasenshuraken, just like how the Hyugas are able to do it in a more direct way. I don’t even think that this would lessen the feat that Minato did in creating the jutstu, but would instead expand on how he is able to think outside the box. It would also tie in Naruto and Hinata’s relationship since the Rasengan would be a marriage of Hyuga technique and Minato’s genius.

  • For me, the Hyuga always made for THE perfect clan to use medical jutsu…offensively. They’re perfect for it – they already have a degree of insight into a ninja’s body that any regular medi-nin would probably kill for, Kabuto vs Tsunade was a great moment to show how medical ninjutsu can be used for things that aren’t strictly healing some dumbass, and their ability to emit chakra as a fundamental skill makes the use of (potentially more advanced) chakra skalpels practically par for the course. Add that to the upgrade for the Byakugan you talked about and you suddenly have someone who is incredibly adept at shutting opponents down in a myriad of ways while having an uncanny ability to stay in the fight for however long they damn well please. Especially if they can use special pills to replenish chakra, have a Byakugan-based technique to steal it, or are just such maniacs that they’re able to prevent the enemy kneading chakra before they’re even ready to throw down.

  • The byakugan could use an evolution like the mangekyo that didnt need a transplant. Or alternatively, if a Hyuga transplants an eye of an Otsutsuki this form would take place? It could give true genjutsu immunity, a massive range of observation, a full body chakra cloak you mentioned, kaguyas mind reading ability etc. The base byakugan should be able to have abilities like Mukai, reading a jutsu and destroying it with gentle fist. Also a ranged ability is a non brainer, just shoot chakra from your points at the target.

  • NCHammer, noticed you didn’t mention Hanabi at all. What do you think of Hanabi Hyuga as a character in the Boruto series? I think she could be the female version of Neji in the Boruto series part 2 instead of the trash, side-character treatment. I had hoped that the Boruto series would’ve given a few new, undeveloped Jonin the same teamleader treatment as Kakashi and Guy received in Naruto and that Hanabi and Konohamuru would be 2 of them. I had hoped these 2 characters would’ve been allowed to grow with their teams instead of Kakashi and Guy who were already great shinobi. Would’ve been a good difference with the Naruto series. Would also like it if Kishi has Toneri come to earth to train the Huga to give them a powerup, and not just Himawari and Boruto since I’m getting sick of how many Jonin get clapped in favor of Boruto’s generation. If Kishimoto doesn’t give more Jonin side-characters like these more development it will never even come close to Naruto’s series level.

  • It’s weird that they don’t have an advantage for healing techniques since they can see the flow of chakra better than anyone else. Honestly, they should even be able to figure healing out on their own. Also, similarly special harming techniques that debilitate in other ways than the pressure points bit

  • One idea I’ve had for Himawari, which would be Hella badass, would be a mix of borutos vanishing rasengan and the 64 palms. She could make mini rasengans and fire them like boruto while doing the 64 palms from a distance. Hoping they do something with her considering she has now lost both her parents. I NEED a boruto vs Himawari fight now.

  • O expected hyuga to be able to slice through jutsu by breaking apart the chakra in any attack (pretty much atomizing any attack or separating the chakra structure of it). Amaterasu? Slice. Rasengan? Nothing. Maybe the level of jutsus requires a higher mastery of byakugan and slicing of jutsud, hell why cana. Hyuga make its make its susasno out of pure chakra and solidify it. Imagine a Susan’s going 8 Tristram 128 palm on another susano or a dang tailed beast bruh. So much potential….

  • I think the upgrade for the Byakugan should alter the way their vision works. At a base level the Byakugan let you see things at from far away in terms of distance and space. If we want to really make it more on the level of the mangekyo sharingan, I suggest that at a higher form it also allows you to see through time. Maybe not to a completely broken degree, but precognition in the short time frame would still be very useful in the fight, being able to know what your opponent is going to do before they do it lets them anticipate their attacks before they do it. The dualism between space and time also fits in with yin and yang theming. I would imagine it’d be similar to Shulk’s ability from Xenoblade to see the Ether in the world, or in Naruto, seeing how the Natural Energy flows to get predict how things turn out. I feel like it would come full circle with Neji’s character arc and his turmoil with feeling predestined to being just a subordinate branch member. He viewed his fate as sealed and determined even before he was even born. But once he’s changed his perspective and his outlook on life to being able change his fate, he’s able to see that there are more options for him and see the many possibilities in the future for him. You mentioned it briefly, but we also never got to see gentle fist being used in a supportive way for the boosting of chakra points when hitting them correctly to direct them. Like imagine Neji hitting his own chakra points to give himself a boost. Maybe that could allow them to open up their 8 gates in a controlled manner with less setbacks.

  • you see I’ve always sat there an been like yeah byakugan is pretty good for taijutsu, but i mean I really feel like they could use their eyes to really hone and perfect types of ninjutsu, and even learn/master ninjutsu faster by seeing what others chakra does when using ninjutsu. You add precision to anything and you make it stronger, hence why sharingan users are good at things like shuriken jutsu, i feel like applying the principles of what the byakugan allows others to see, with ninjutsu could really be something kinda cool/strong.

  • On the senbon; I’d always thought they would evolve their air palm technique to being able to fire precisioned and targeted bursts of chakra into the opponent’s network. A long range 64 triagrams sorta deal. Surprised it never went there, but Kishi was too busy sucking off the uchiha at that point…

  • Here’s a super simple idea, give them a clan wide nature affinity or two. I suggest wind and watter for the main and side families respectively. Then you could have a whole bunch of their moves upgraded with their elimental realise. This would expand their moveset, differentiate the noral higya ninja from the truly exceptional, and diffrentiate the branches more. Pluse at the higest level a Hugo who trains with both the main and side branch can get ice which is crazy powerfull. But almost none of them would be willing/ able to do that because of their politics. Ice+rotation to instantly create a blizerd and bring visibility for non dojutsu users to zero. Ice projectiles + gental fist would mean infinite chackra blocking ice projectiles that could be shot from anyware on the users body. Frozen lion fists to sap your enimies chackra and warmth so they can’t use ninjutsu to or taijutsu. But all of this is locked behind the ability to use a kekkei genkai so it would be rare even amongst the best hyuga ninja. This way you can have lots of room for growth without breaking the entire clan.

  • What if the secret of the “main branch”, making them superior to the “side branch” was the Tensaigon? I remember you did a article a while back about ‘why don’t sharingon MS users just trade eyes, for EMS?’ and I’m thinking now ‘what if that’s exactly what the main branch Hyuga family did?’ Except, obviously, they don’t need to unlock MS first (because that doesn’t exist for them). This would be a significant change, but not require extensive re-writing. It would show exactly why the branch family was weaker, and be just one more reason they have those curse marks on their foreheads. What would be the benefits of this upgraded Byakugon? I think you expressed several excellent ideas for that.

  • Imagine if Neji and Ten Ten fought with Sakura and Chiyo against Sasori. Just imagine a both character development for these two characters, their growth of power scale, techniques and as well relationship between them. I can imagine Neji going beyond his limits against the iron sand of sasori and his weapons with venom, as well as Ten Ten fighting the puppets and using all the tools, understanding the function of the puppet tools (both for Chiyo and Sasori) and manage to damage him in the process As well as showing how dangerous and powerful are the Akatsuki.

  • I love this article I feel like this clan is truly underrated when you think about the world lore, this class should be full of murderous psychos like the are you barely see any like the other clans in the village, but they just do the thing they do their jobs they don’t grass for power all the time they’re not trying to unlock new abilities to become gods they know that they’re bloodline abilities, dangerous and their careful with it I thought the way they did the second plane with me but when you know what you’re capable of, maybe it’s not so bad

  • It’s simple. Rock Lee uses Gate 3 and can speed blitz Gaara’s sand shield. At Gate 6, he can speed blitz Madara. With Gate 7, Might Guy (Gai) was able to speedblitz and overwhelm Jyuubi-dara. Even without the strength increase, the speed alone means a gentle fist user can shut off an opponent completely before they can ever mount a counter. And gentle fist users are already faster than hard fist users because of Rotation being several hundred miles an hour.

  • I think the hyugas could be somewhat relevant without changing a thing, I can’t think of a single time anyone has used the chakra boost ability of gentle fist, and if a hyuga trained their speed to be near Minato level, they could shut down most of their enemies chakra points before they could react. I think if neji had survived he could have become the speed blitzer and Hinata could have became the most overpowered support character by boosting her teammates.

  • I like for the Hyugas to actually crippled people with the gentle fist I mean the gentle is a move to attack internal organ for instance Neji vs Hinata fight which Neji put Hinata in cardiac arrest but for some odd reason Naruto was tanking then? But then Kishimoto remember gentle fist can blow up organs for the Neji vs Kidomaru fight. just saying the Hyugas wouldn’t really need much of a upgrade if they where kept as organ busters

  • Personally I would make the Jogan a evolution of the Byakugan that can only be unlocked if you die and come back, this could happen from something small like your heart briefly stopping or dying and being brought back to life via Rinne Tensei (that’s what it’s called right) or Edo Tensei also I’d have the Tenseigan be a evolution of the Jogan that can only be achieved if you have both Hyuga and Kaguya blood, master Sage Mode and see a loved one die, similarly I would change the Rinnegan to only be achievable to those with Uchiha and Senju blood who mastered Sage Mode and briefly died

  • I feel like the Hyuga would’ve made a great parallel to the Uchiha Clan. The Uchiha focusing on fire elements and ninjutsu, their sharingan being able to see through and create genjutsu and learning to copy ninjutsu via looking at it. Meanwhile the Hyuga could specialize in water release and taijutsu, their Byakugan not giving them the abilities of genjutsu but full immunity to it. And capable of not copying the ninjutsu but understand and better perfect their chakra control. The Sharingan would evolve into the Magekyou, amplifying the aspects of their clans abilities at the risk of thei vision and general health, burning away their eyes and chakra, sacrificing their future for power, while the Byakugan has no transformation and instead slowly grows the user’s abilities and understanding, maintaining their future but limiting their power. For Sasuke, he wants power, he wants to get stronger and will sacrifice/burn everything he can to do so. Meanwhile, Hinata and Neji want to grow stronger as well, slowly understanding their abilities as a whole. Neji, wanting to be seen as great as the main branch despite being seen as lesser than them would be the offensive genius while Hinata, who wants to unite the two branches, would play a more gentle and supportive role. Both utilities growing for the sake of the future.

  • I think although hinata did her best it doesnt looked like she was a match for Pain at anytime, if she had a longer fight with him, maybe if he struggled longer to pin her down, that would have shown more about the strengh of the hyuga because honestly she looked quite week. Yes the Rin`negan is quite overpowered but as if there would have been no longer fight if the Byakugan is acually that strong

  • I always thought Hinata as a medical ninja would’ve made more sense, after all the Hyuga are essentially walking MRI scanners, along with their mastery of chakra control would have made her perfect as a student of Tsunade. Neji on the other hand could’ve evolved his offensive capabilities and develop new ways to perform chakra attacks. We see his air palm but what if he websiteled chakra at pinpoint like a bullet so in essence a long range chakra bullet. This coupled with his bloodline trait would make him vicious at short and long range (depending on how far the chakra bullet would last) plus because it would be just pure chakra like the Rasengan it wouldn’t have an elemental affiliation with which would be countered. It would also then explain how Boruto could develop his throwable vanishing rasengan as he would’ve learnt it from his uncle.

  • 12:05 – Just find another way for them to get a proper Tenseigan. 17:00 – Kenjutsu is sword play. Bukijutsu is the term for any & all weapon usage. 17:15 – Those aren’t Water release nor senbon. That’s just her modified version of the 64 that hits 360 degrees around her. She’s just striking the bees with her fingers as if they were senbon. 19:00 – 361!

  • I feel like not only did the Hyuuga fall off the map but also Kurenai. She had the perfect opportunity to tell them, “You ideas are barbaric and out of date. Catch up,” through Hinata. I mean, it’s not like Kurenai had a student that was adverse to physical combat, was training on Chakra control since she was born, and could theoretically influence anyone within her range. Definitely not. This could have also affected Neji, seeing how the failure of the clan became stronger by branching (ironic) out into areas outside of the normal taijutsu. This would be the step that let’s him study under Lee about the 8 Gates. Eventually studying medical jutsu to balance out his weaker body (compared to Gai and Lee) to last longer under this strain. I feel like these two could have gotten the Naruto and Sasuke treatment. By being rivals with each other, they drive each other to greater lengths. Just not to the point of betrayal and retrieval like the other one.

  • Would have definitely given Neji distance chara point blocking and chara wings around the Garra rescue arc. This completes his bird motif, gives him a true 360 circle of vision, flight, and a ranged attack. Add in some sort of Genjutsu and you have a decent lvl2. Hinata would get similar exept the Lion Fist instead of the wings, signifying that shes now proud of herself and will fight those who threaten her world/loved ones. The two would have trained together diring the skip, Hinata sticking up for her cousin to her dad and forcing traditions to change, continuing Neji’s “was caged but now free” revelation while giving her angecy in her own family, inspired by Naruto. I agree about the 8 gates, that would have poped around the war arch for Neji, atleast gates 1-3

  • Hyuga should have the ability to counter opponents juutsu via mixing in the counter element into their attacks. Or just weaken the juutsu over all. Hyuga are about countering and crippling. They arent there to beat their opponents into submission with overwhelming force. They are about removing your ability to fight from you. They should have been ninjuutsu and genjuutsu counters with raw taijuutsu users like Guy and Lee who rely less on chakra than physical strength giving them the hardest time. Hence their defensive focus up close.

  • Some abilites that the Hyuga clan should have been able to perform are lip reading and jutsu replication and chakra control. Being able to see chakra move throughout a persons body, they should be able brute force/replicate ninjutsu through a lengthier process than the sharingan. Also the hyuga clans chakra control from practice of realing chakra form different points in thier body should afford them use in pure chakra ninjutsu like chakra strings, or even the rasengan.

  • The main downfall of the hyuga clan is in their fear of progression. They could have been amazing medics. They also could have been skilled genjutsu users. Hell, they had the ability to see the chakra in their targets brains. And it wouldn’t have to be the heavy handed genjutsu that was constantly used. Sure I could use a demonic hell viewing technique, or a genjutsu that paralyzes you with an illusionary tree but why? What about a genjutsu that shifts your perception 2 or 3 inches to the side. For a clan that could kill, cripple, or disable with a mere touch…..

  • I’d change it so that high level byakugan users could notice that one of the shadow clones’ chakra is moving slightly different than the others, thus telling them who the real one is. How cool would it have looked for Neji to just ignore hundreds of Naruto’s shadow clones and blitz the real one, causing all the other ones to go up in smoke?! A quick list of benefits: 1. Makes Neji a better rival for Naruto. 2. it would cause Naruto to stop relying on shadow clones all the time. 3. Gives Naruto and Hinata a special relationship since she’s one of the few who can see the real him. It doesn’t change the overall narrative of the story, but this small tweak could add so much more to flesh it out.

  • OK CRAZY IDEA HERE BUT HEAR ME OUT WHAT IF- instead of Naruto Sakura and sauske being the big three it was neji Naruto and sasuke? Naruto representing the biggest dreamer, sauske representing the nihilist and neji being the middle ground willing to do anything for the leaf while Naruto was focused on getting stronger to save sauske neji would be getting stronger to kill him if necessary and to stop Naruto from throwing his life away on his own path???

  • I don’t really like to change much of the story on this type of hypothetical scenarios so i have to say that i disagree with that Kurenai take. Instead of changing her i would exploit her genjutsu abilities with Hinata, her favorite student. Theres nothing in the story that states that a byakugan can’t perform genjutsu, if you know how genjutsu work, you understand is a possibility. It was stated that you could amp yourself by opening the tenketsu, Neji should be doing that. Bukijutsu is the term you’re looking for when you talk about Kenjutsu but overall the senbon take is valid asf, the Hyugas need more long range attacks and considering how Guy is a bukijutsu master Neji should have that aswell. I don’t think that the gates should be used there as it would take away from Lee and Guy himself. Another thing i would add is the Hyuga clan having secrets on the main branch and Neji hearing the gossips, just like the upper class of the Uchiha knew about the tablet, the Hyugas should have their equivalent as their story is just as rich or richer. Of course showing more of the other byakugan users would be of great help, Hiashi and the others. They were victims of lack of screen time imo. Strength wise the average Byakugan user should be able to fight the average 3TS user, the upper class Hyuga like Hiashi, Hizashi, that dude from the novels and Neji should be able to fight the upper class of the 3TS like Tekka, Fugaku, Sasuke and Itachi. The problem comes with the MS but a strong Hyuga with twin lion fist could do something at least to the susanoo ribcage or something like Kaguya did against Sasuke’s susanoo but to a lower extent.

  • To be fair, Naruto did have a lot of special things againts Neji. He had the Shadowclones Kenjutsu, Chakra of Kurama, and he is an Uzumaki. Uzumakis have a lot of Chakra and they can withstand far more punishment to the body than regular people. The Uzumaki were a feared Clan for a reason. So while Naruto was not a Genius like Neji, nor did he have Kekkei Genkai, but also a lot of people underestimate Naruto’s ability to think outside the box and surprise his opponents, which he does in most of his fights.

  • Can you make a article about the IQ lvl of every important characters, cuz i dont understand why people feal the need to give naruto only 90 IQ considering his always quick with a smart move… i think they give him 90 cuz ppl call him dum or loser, but in realaty the reason he behaves like this is that it was always the only way he could get attention from others.. that is also why he has so strong intentions on “never going back on his word” beacous he is afraid of losing the ppls trust

  • I think a neat concept would be hinata or neji discovering the leaf village had taken known techniques of the huyga and suppressed them, making them forbidden jutsu and using the interrogation squad under danzo to remove the memories of these techniques from living hyuga members. Would add to the distain of danzo, give the hyuga new abilities, and create a reasonable excuse as to why we hadn’t seen these abilities sooner.

  • It’s crazy that hinata didn’t get some upgrades after getting her eyes back in the last. I mean technically they were infused with Otsutsuki blood and chakra. Wasted opportunity. Would explain the Jougan too since Boruto is the first born with chakra from not only the 9 tails but blessed by Hagaromo too.

  • I don’t think the Hyuga has necessarily been forgotten, underutilized maybe, but not forgotten, that’s why we have the Tenseigan and Jogan now. Those are to the Byakugan what the MS and Rinnegan are to the Sharingan. Although I REALLY like your idea of having a Hyuga Jonin Sensei in part 1. Replacing Kurenai with a female Hyuga member could also create this dilemma where she goes against the clan’s intermarriage to marry out of the clan with Asuma, and Mirai would be half-Sarutobi and half-Hyuga. At least they did this now in the Boruto anime with Hanabi. Also it makes perfect sense for a Hyuga clan member to incorporate Sage Mode or Medical Ninjutsu in tandem with their Byakugan and Gentle Fist. Being able to see vitals in the body, the chakra network, know where to administer first aid, or being able to combine Gentle Fist chakra point attacks with Frog Kumite to extend your range would be great ways to abuse the Hyuga clan’s fighting style.

  • The 3 upgrades to the Byakugan i would propose would be them to find a way to use less blood so it doesn’t become obvious when its being used, second would no longer require activation or deactivation, its always on and doesn’t strain the eye or charcka as much and to finally cover the Blindspot. I really believe the best course of action for the Hyuga clan is to become puppet masters. The can control more puppts than anyone else due them being able to expell and control chakra from any chakra point, they can use gentle fist through the puppet giving them more range they would be able to see the entire battle field so they wouldn’t be as limited as the red Scorpion. And imagine if the lion head cloak idea over a puppet basically a small little Voltron five lion heads over a construct that is also taking chackra form the enemy to charge the attacks against them.

  • Make the true power of the Hyūga clan be the ability of the most advanced among them to create their own signature move. For Hinata it’s the Twin Lion; so I would get cute with it and give Neji the “Diamond Lion” Tenketsu, a perfect Susanō-sized chakra avatar in the shape of a lion that has the same effect as a base form gentle fist, but on a larger, more amped scale. From there you could have Neji steadily progress from basic attacks to eventually mastering the “64-palm lion” or something. Could you imagine a “massive lion rotation” technique? Now I’m just more upset they killed my boi😢

  • Another simple yet very powerful upgrade is giving them the ability to absorb the chakra in ninjutsu, nullifying it as long as there isn’t too much chakra or its not a sage jutsu. This would further align them with the Otsutsuki who (most) can absorb or nullify ninjutsu, and it wouldn’t be a stretch at all since they can expel chakra from their chakra points, mold that chakra into constructs, and the twin lion fists takes your chakra when you’re hit with them. It’s strong but not broken.

  • Bakugan clarity is different for certain users.. example Hinata Bakugan had more clarity bc it was more pure than neji same Sasuke nd itachi nd kayguya Bakugan was strong enough to see her her grandkids chakra in Naruto nd sasuke nd could read your soul nd heritage from chakra. Bakugan is broken bt with heritage nd certain chakra signature added u can always do more in base nd evolve
