Fainting spells, also known as vasovagal syncope, are a rare side effect of cannabis use. These spells occur due to a sudden decrease in blood flow to the brain and often result in brief loss of consciousness. Medical cannabis can cause fainting, blacking out, or vasovagal syncope, which can be caused by THC, a natural vasodilator known to widen blood vessels.
While most people can use marijuana without experiencing any issues, fainting is a known side effect that can be the reason for irresponsible marijuana use or underlying medical conditions. Some medical experts suggest that these blackout moments can occur because THC decreases blood pressure in the body, often coming on unexpectedly.
Marijuana users have an increased risk of cardiac dysrhythmia associated with tachycardia, bradycardia, chest pain, and/or unexplained syncope. Dizzy spells are sometimes caused by the sudden influx of THC into the body, as the system is not able to process it immediately. Experimentally, marijuana can induce severe postural dizziness and syncope in a small randomized study with healthy subjects. Certain bodily movements or functions can also naturally cause a drop in blood pressure that may lead to fainting spells.
In conclusion, while cannabis may cause fainting spells, it is an uncommon side effect and most people recover fully within minutes. To prevent this, it is important to take steps to avoid experiencing these symptoms, such as avoiding high doses of potent marijuana, avoiding certain bodily movements, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
📹 Marijuana-induced Panic Attacks (AND HOW TO ELIMINATE THEM)
Learn how to overcome anxiety and end panic attacks: …
Is it normal for weed to make you lightheaded?
Marijuana, derived from the Cannabis sativa plant, can cause headaches, dry mouth, dry eyes, lightheadedness, and dizziness. Although the FDA has not approved its use as medicine, many states have legalized its use. Two drugs, dronabinol and nabilone, made from synthetic marijuana ingredients, have been approved by the FDA for treating nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy and decreased appetite in HIV and AIDS patients. Additionally, the FDA has approved a liquid medication, Epidolex, containing a purified form of CBD, for treating rare forms of severe childhood epilepsy.
Why do I feel dizzy after weed gummy?
Cannabis edibles, containing THC and CBD, are foods infused with the active ingredients. Consuming edibles is advised due to their delayed effects, leading to overconsumption. It is recommended to wait two hours after consumption before increasing doses. Over-ingesting THC should be treated with rest and hydration, and symptoms like dizziness, confusion, dysphoria, and nausea should subside within a few hours.
Does quitting weed affect blood pressure?
The abrupt cessation of heavy cannabis use may cause significant increases in blood pressure in a subset of users, particularly those with preexisting hypertension. The time course of this effect is currently unknown and requires further study. Cannabis, the most widely used illicit drug globally, has an estimated 160 million users. Treatment admissions for cannabis use disorders have increased significantly in the past decade, and the number of people meeting criteria for dependence on cannabis now exceeds that for any other illicit drug. Despite widespread use and abuse, little is known about the cardiovascular effects and health risks associated with chronic cannabis use.
How many cigarettes equal one joint?
Cannabis, with its high carcinogen content and potential risk factors for cancer, lung, and heart disease, is equivalent to one joint and three cigarettes. It also deposits a third more tar and is a probable risk factor for oropharyngeal and lung cancer. The use of cookies on this site is governed by copyright © 2024 Elsevier B. Why does my blood pressure drop when I smoke weed?
Cannabis, the main illicit drug, is gaining popularity worldwide due to its potential health benefits. Recent studies have shown that cannabis use can lead to better cardiometabolic health, while others suggest it increases cardiovascular risks. However, these studies have focused on limited populations and have not examined gender differences in cannabis use.
High blood pressure (BP) has been correlated with CV morbidity and mortality, but the association between BP and cannabis use remains inconsistent. A study has described that cannabis can lead to decreased BP due to vasodilatation and tachycardia. The cannabidiol (CBD), one of the major compounds of cannabis, could reduce blood pressure due to its sympathoinhibition action.
Older studies have focused on the relation between BP levels and cannabis use, with chronic use of cannabis being associated with decreased BP. Studies have shown that the endocannabinoid system could be a novel therapeutic way in hypertension treatment. However, the association between BP and cannabis use remains few studied in general populations.
This study aimed to examine gender stratified associations and interactions of different lifetime aspects of cannabis use and BP levels among the general UK Biobank population. The cohort was phenotyped and genotyped by participants who responded to questionnaires, computer-assisted interviews, physical and functional measures, and blood, urine, and saliva samples. Data included socio-economic, behavior and lifestyle, mental health battery, clinical diagnoses and therapies, genetics, imaging, and physiological biomarkers from blood and urine samples.
Ethical considerations were taken into account, with all participants providing electronic informed consent and the study receiving ethical approval from the North-West Multi-center Research Ethics Committee.
What does weed do to your blood?
THC, a psychoactive compound, has pathological effects on the cardiovascular system, central nervous system, and peripheral vasculature. It causes an acute, dose-dependent increase in blood pressure and heart rate, leading to increased usage frequency and the risk of cardiac arrhythmias and myocardial infarction. Chronic THC use has been associated with increased angina frequency due to a decrease in the angina threshold, diminished sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system signal transduction, serum aldosterone increases, central and peripheral vasoconstriction, and hypertension (HTN). A 2017 study found that marijuana users had an increased risk of HTN-associated mortality even if a prior diagnosis of HTN was treated.
In the CNS, THC increases cerebral vasculature tone and central blood pressure, which in turn decreases cerebrovascular blood flow. This decrease in blood flow is associated with an increased risk of cerebral vascular accident (CVA) and transient ischemic attack (TIA). Three studies suggest a correlation between TIAs and a reversible effect of cannabis on the cerebrovasculature attributed to transient vasospasm and/or increase in central blood pressure decreasing cerebral flow.
Cannabis use may increase the risk of CVA among patients with an increased risk of CV disease (CVD) with or without anti-stroke medications, such as anti-platelet medication. It has also been reported that cocaine and/or marijuana use in young adults with an MI is associated with worse all-cause and CVD mortality.
How bad is a joint a day?
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a condition caused by tobacco smoke, causing a loss of elasticity in air passages that deliver air to the lungs. People with COPD become short of breath and exhibit symptoms of chronic bronchitis. Attempts to determine whether marijuana smoke provokes COPD have produced conflicting results. It remains to be determined whether chronic marijuana smoking actually causes COPD, but there is good reason to suspect that it does.
While many tobacco smokers accept coughing and shortness of breath as part of the price they pay for the pleasure of smoking, fear of cancer sometimes persuades them to quit. However, cellular, genetic, and clinical studies suggest that marijuana smoke is an important risk factor in the development of respiratory cancer. Many of the same carcinogenic compounds present in tobacco smoke are also found in burning marijuana. Unfiltered smoke from joints contains higher concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) than does smoke from tobacco cigarettes.
Since marijuana users generally inhale more deeply than tobacco smokers, they may be exposing their lungs to even higher levels of these dangerous substances. Preliminary research also suggests that marijuana smokers’ lung cells contain higher levels of an enzyme that converts PAHs into a cancer-causing form.
How long does a puff of a joint last?
The effects of inhalation are typically experienced within seconds to a few minutes, with a peak occurring within 30 minutes, and can last up to six hours after use. Some residual effects may persist for up to 24 hours.
Is it okay to smoke an entire joint?
When attempting to smoke a whole joint, it can be a dilemma to avoid waste and unpleasant effects. One solution is to extinguish the joint and save the rest for later use. When a joint is ignited, a chemical reaction occurs, decarboxylating the cannabinoids within the plant matter. This process activates the flower in the joint, allowing it to produce desired effects. The chemical changes that occur after lighting the joint occur quickly, and putting out a half-smoked joint stops most of them.
However, time, exposure to air, and other factors can also alter the effects of the ground buds. In summary, a half-smoked joint can be a useful solution for those who want to smoke a joint without wasting it or rushing through the process.
What is a bad reaction to weed?
People are experiencing symptoms like anxiety, paranoia, and extreme psychotic reactions, leading to emergency room treatment. Commercial interests contribute to drug use and addiction. Cannabis and hallucinogen use among adults remained at historic highs in 2023, with vaping and binge drinking also maintaining high levels. Delta-8-THC use was reported by 11 of 12th graders in 2023, and psychoactive cannabis product use was higher in states without delta-8 regulations or cannabis legalization.
How do I know if I’m allergic to weed?
Cannabis allergies can manifest as nasal congestion, eye inflammation, coughing, wheezing, and sneezing. Skin contact with marijuana, including hemp, can cause eczema or hives. Anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction, has been reported after eating hemp seed-encrusted seafood. Cannabis pollen grains, which emerge in late summer or early autumn, are buoyant and can spread across miles as an airborne allergen.

Once you have that first panic attack from Cannabis it’s hard to stop it happening again and again the next few times you get high. Thinking about that first panic attack next time you get high will trigger another attack. Then next time you want to get high your previous 2 panic attacks will be on your mind and…..You see where this is going. I smoked Cannabis heavily for 5 years with no problems. Then out of nowhere one night it caused me to have that first anxiety/panic attack. Really bad chest pains and one of my arms had shooting pains through it. Basically anxiety/panic disguised as the signs of a heart attack. Ever since then I can’t get high without getting these “heart attack” symptoms. I thought I was the only one until I read through these comments! In the end I decided to just quit weed altogether. I tried edibles to see if that would change anything but it didn’t. Same chest pains and same panic attack. Sucks because I used to enjoy being high! Certain music and TV/YouTube just hits different when you’re high 😔 and obviously food. If anyone does end up having an attack try looking up some breathing techniques on YouTube. Helped me last time I got high. Other things I’ve heard that work are chewing peppercorns, utilizing lemons + their peel or using CBD to counter the THC and help balance you out when you are overly high. Stay safe and remember you’re not going to die! You’re just high. It will pass and be over soon. Drink some water, take some slow, deep breaths and try to relax.
This article/comment section have been so helpful. It’s nice knowing that I’m not alone. I’ve had 3 panic attacks due to marijuana use. I had been smoking for a year or so with no issue and then after a large hit, I had an awful panic attack. I tried two times after because I used to really enjoy smoking, but both times I had more panic attacks. I have been struggling with anxiety ever since. I feel that I disassociate or lose focus a lot. I sometimes even feel like my brain is broken because of my marijuana use, but it is completely irrational. I’m still struggling with this, but articles and research like this has been helping. I really appreciate the content.
I remember when this first happened to me like it was yesterday. I had recently went from smoking everyday to not smoking at all for about 4 months. The very first bowl back I knew something was way off. I couldn’t focus, my mind was racing and like many of you, my heart rate was sky high. About 30 mins in and I was convinced I had smoked pcp laced bud and was probably going to die. I was shaking so bad my teeth where chattering. This lasted all night. Ruined smoking for me forever, which was the only substance I used regularly and enjoyed. For the next 6 months I thought I had a heart problem and went to the cardiologist to have EKGs and an Echocardiogram, at 18 years old. The doc probably thought I was insane. Long story short, this experience f*** me up for a while. 7 years later and I still can’t enjoy smoking, but this really changed my perspective on what anxiety is and had a big part to play on my decision to study psychology. Good to know that I’m not alone.
Hey guys just know you aren’t alone. I’ve been smoking weed for 2+ years and I’m just now starting to have panic attacks from my highs. It really is all about your mindset. For me I go into smoking thinking it will induce a panic attack, therefore it actually happens. I focus on my breathing and then feel like I just can’t breath.
Smoked weed for years, 5 years ago I quit because of severe anxiety and panic attacks, something just switched, I used to love smoking. It’s interesting to see how so many people feel the same. Some people can smoke Forever, we just can’t 🙁 there is a root to our problem. We need to overcome it before we try thc or just don’t do it anymore
I promise guys it’s all in your mind your mind is the most powerful thing in your body,it is the lamp of your body, you have to protect at all cost bc that’s where life flows from .. I went through a panic attack from smoking weed back in February, it is a scary experience but as I would hit the blunt often I use to post February I can really feel my anxiety coming down from having another panic attack .. when you overthink it eats you up my best advice is don’t think about it .. distract yourself, do something you like, it’s not real & it can help you in ways that you don’t even know .. but I’m back to smoking weed not as much but I can smoke comfortably again .. bc I went through the experience of panic it may sound crazy but I’m kinda glad I went through it bc it help me .. just remember it’s all in the mind your not going crazy, hope you feel better, I’m just being real! Love.
this is gonna sound fucked and a lot of people would consider it depression but the best way to relieve yourself of anxiety is to truly not give a fuck. our biggest fear when we feel anxiety is a panic attack. when we have a panic attack we fear death. really spend time with yourself and try to come to terms with the fact that death occurs to everyone and not to be scared. once you no longer fear death then your panic attacks/ anxiety will lessen. i was diagnosed with panic disorder. went to a therapist and took the meds they told me to take and the meds made me worst off. i ended up getting depressed, paranoid, showed symptoms of borderline personality disorder, adhd, ocd just about everything. i really thought i would have to be institutionalized. panic attacks constantly. so i tried to come to terms with the fact that we’re all gonna die. like i said it sounds depressing but i’m not sad. i’m happy. i feel like i’m living life without anything holding me back.
U accurately hit every point about this topic. From tricking your brain into it, to fear of it happening again to depersonalization in the long run. I use to have panic attacks but what I realized is that if I can control my heart rate then I’ll be fine. Which is taking control of the fight or flight response
I first smoked when I was in seventh grade. I would smoke with my older brother and his friends. I handled it really good. It was super fun. Sometimes I felt relaxed and sometimes everything was so funny. My senior year of high school, which was last year, I smoked 3 times. The first time was during school and I had a pretty good time. My friends made fun of me cuz of how stoned I looked lol. The next time was with my friends and the one after that was with my girlfriend. Those two times were the worst times of my life. The good thing was that they were both during the night so I forced myself to sleep to get rid of the effect. I haven’t smoked since. My heart was pumping so fast and I was overthinking my whole life and everything. It was scary. I think this was caused by a change in my personality over the years. When I was in middle school, I was confident and I was the guy to make the whole class laugh and stuff. But as I got older and throughout high school, I was known as the quiet and shy dude. I developed some really bad social anxiety that affects me a lot. I wouldn’t be able to tell this to someone face to face. I would just freeze. I’ve only told this to my girlfriend. And as I struggle, I try to fix it but idk how.
This literally happened to me yesterday I ate too much from a brownie and it hit after 30 minutes and at first it was fun but once it hit fully I was so scared I heard voices but like scary whispers and laughing it was 1 in the morning and I heard cars outside but there were no cars and I closed my eyes and my heart was literally beating out of my chest so I repeated the phrase “i am calm it’s all in my head” until my heart was finally back to normal but then i started feeling dizzy like I was going to throw up and I avoided it as much as possible because I hate it so I just held my hand on my heart and slowly brought it down to my stomach and it really calmed me down I ended up falling asleep at 3 in the morning and woke up a little high so I went back to sleep for about 3 hours and felt so drowsy throughout the whole day and I still feel tired the last bad trip was off smoking but it went away in a couple hours but this was the worst trip by far hopefully it doesn’t continue with smoking
I had my first panic attack induced by pot first in 1984. It struck again in 86 and 88. It then started everyday without smoking it and screwed my life for many years thereafter. No one even knew about panic disorder. No doctor at an ER, no one. So I felt as if I had some dreaded disease. It wasn’t until the early 90s that I tried Prozac that I found real relief. I also started doing things I was most afraid of, standing in line, driving at night, over long bridges and flying. No of that was easy. But once I broke the cycle, life became almost normal. SSIs really do help. But so does behavior therapy. Although I drive for a living today, I still take Prozac. The only thing to worry about is to not drink alcohol while taking it as boosts the effects of drinking by a lot. Don’t do it.
I just had a bad trip from smoking pot last night. I’m not a big consumer of it, my fiancé is though. But when I have smoked it, I usually like the indica, and trying different strains. Well I went into a dispensary yesterday and wanted to get the best, most relaxed indica there was. I got a cartridge refill for my pen. Later in the evening I took little hits here and there, and then I took a bigger hit. I had some dinner, then after I dinner, I had an Altoid. Now this might sound weird, but I swear right after I had the Altoid, within 5 min, I started having that weird feeling. I’m not sure if the Altoid enhanced the affects of the pot, or if it was just the pot itself, but I freaked. I felt like I was having a medical emergency. I was feeling tingly all over and almost numb, including my face. It was a freaky feeling. I thought “Am I having a stroke?” I jumped up threw my shoes on, my fiancé is like “What’s wrong?” He started to get up, and I ran outside, and went to the neighbors she was already outside, and I said “I feel like I can’t breathe!” She had me sit down on her porch with her and she looked at me, “She said you look fine,” and I said “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” But then I told her I smoked some pot, then she said “Ahhh.” She sat and visited with me for awhile until I calmed down. It was embarrassing, but now I know I just got some strong pot. Lol. I don’t think I’ll be smoking pot again. Lol.
I ate too much of an edible last Christmas my smoking weed has been absolutely ruined by this. My heart beats a million miles per minute I overthink but yet I’m miles away from myself its horrible im actually off weed now because of the fear I get no enjoyment from it. It sucks because I used to love weed
I haven’t smoked since I was 16 because I had a bad panic attack. I mean, I smoked a hit here and there but I was too afraid to smoke more than a hit of weed and still am. BUT I desperately want to smoke again! It sucks!! Is there anyway that I can stop these feelings of being afraid? And stop a panic attack if I get one from smoking?
After reading shaans book it made me realize that it’s normal that I’m going through anxiety and that I just keep tripping myself out. My mindset changed COMPLETELY. I wouldn’t say that marijuana caused my anxiety, but my stress. I couldn’t even smell weed without it making me trigger my anxiety but after accepting my anxiety I was able to be around weed smoke and after a tolerance break of a month I will give it another go because I am confident, trigger or not, my triggers will not dictate what I want to do and they will not make my decisions. It’s the fear of another anxiety attack that’s holding you back from going back to whatever you did. Whether it’s smoking, going to the grocery store, DO NOT LET YOUR ANXIETY STOP YOU FROM YOUR ACTIONS. do what you want and do it with confidence. It won’t be easy but you WILL overcome your triggers and you WILL get back to your old self. Last night I got rid of my melatonin. Yeah sure my anxiety creeped up on me, but I accepted it and I didn’t get up from bed and started my breathing exercise. I let it be and it went away FAST and I was able to sleep without melatonin. I did GREAT. I’m going to ditch my l-theanine pills now because I’m actually implementing the 5 steps shaun provides for you in his FREE book. Go read it if you havent 🙂 good luck to everyone much love. You WILL overcome this if you truly have faith you will 🙂
I used to love smoking weed. Smoked from 20 to 27 years then I had a panic attack and the fear stayed with me till my next toke. That was 6 years ago. When I was 30 I experienced panic and anxiety without the weed, it’s stayed with me and I’ve learnt to deal with it and not be afraid of anxiety. I would love to be able to smoke again, perhaps this time I’ll be able to manage it. I miss smoking and need a smoke so bad during Covid
I had my first panic attack a month and a half ago. I was given Prednisone for a sore throat. Now I know that the sore throat was likely allergies along with being anxious about the state of the world but the Prednisone, even at a low dose, made me absolutely and horribly insane. So little sleep. I had two courses and the first day of the second course I landed in the ER after an eight hour panic attack. I had NO idea that’s what it was. I left with a prescription for Celexa, which I quit after three days, and Ativan tablets, which are now in the middle of a chunk of concrete. Prednisone messed up my cortisol. Like I said, I was mildly anxious before. I was okay with that. I didn’t fight it before. I knew what it was. Now I’m carrying anxiety on the daily with all kinds of physical symptoms and I know that the way out is the same as if I had panic without the Prednisone. Daily letting the panic ride the wave so I can gradually come to pre-Prednisone levels. I sure am learning a lot about myself in this process. Like how far back the mild anxiety goes. And, as an artist, just how creative my brain gets about the thoughts!
I had a full on anxiety attack from smoking to much weed a couple months ago. I’ve been smoking since for a couple years, I’m 18 now. I was chillin in my room perusal a movie, and then my heart started pounding so fast, the sound on the movie was fuzzy and I started thinking everything in the world was out to get me. I thought I hit a laced cart since a friend gave it to me. But I then realized he had smoked a shit ton of it earlier.
Best tip, if your having a serious life crisis, don’t smoke weed, it doesn’t help at all, it will make you overthink until you are having an anxiety attack, its hard if you are a regular smoker, its hard to sleep when you stop, so your left there at 1am thinking about your problem, and wanting to smoke……but don’t, it wont help.
The worst thing is, panicking and then realizing, youre not getting out of it for a loong time. I had that experience, over time, I did get over it. I am a little apprehensive about smoking again. But I feel Im a little stronger for it. What happened was, I smoked some, then I thought, screw it, smoked again. Anticipating pressure from your hands to your head before you even touch it, is a trip. But having that sensation 10 fold is almost nightmarish.
I never used to have panicking attacks while getting high, but recently I only been able to do it at night while I’m going to bed and I get extreme panic attacks everytime feeling like I’m gonna die especially cuz recently I had a paranormal encounter for the first time in my basement and ever since then I feel like anytime I smoke up now and get high I feel like I’m getting possessed
i smoked almost everyday for about 6 years totally fine. but in college i started getting super baked and then stressing about homework. my brain started associating feeling high with stress and i started getting anxiety when i got high. happened like 3 times in a row, i was getting heart palpitations and this feeling of impending doom. i quit for about a year and i feel great. i gradually started again but only like 3-4 soft hits and only when im doing something fun like having a cook out or fishing
From my personal experience…. I would suggest never smoke alone as it may lead to overthinking…. Smoke with someone whom u can play and make vibes and laugh as much as u can,,, it will distract your mind from thinking anything bad… Jst vibe the situation with ur mate… And also don’t smoke at night,, idk why but believe me at daytime it’s best to get high if ever going through anxiety attacks by being high… Lastly take a walk or sit in a open place like parks or ur yard jst remember it should be wide open, where u can see sky… Weather doesn’t matter….. It’s jst from my personal experiences.. So don’t get me wrong…ooh one last thing don’t ever drink or eat anything if u ever get panick attack.. U won’t die but u will experience eternal hell.. Remember that.
The accuracy of this article is unbelievable. I’ll tell my story maybe Someone can relate. I smoked weed for approximately for 3 years from 2013-2016 16 to 19 years old. At first everything was fine and all laughs, but then weed started to affect me differently when I horribly failed at my first year at the university. Then I noticed I felt unconfortable with just one hit. I was overthinking, super self conscious, I thought I had a deeper understanding of the society or the world. Social situations Also started to feel weird. I felt I was judged most of the time and I found myself judging others by mere simple and innofensive comments they might have made. This thoughts and feelings were scaring me since It was the first time I was experiencing them. Then camE the first panic attack. I had a big hit on one very “concentrated” joint. My Heart started Racing, I was shaking, completely pale, dizzy and with nausea., couldnt stand still but neither move. My vision became dark and blurry and negative thoughts of going crazy and losing control of my mind started racing. I Also felt “laggy” in my movements and responses. I managed to walk back home scared and in a hurry. Next week I felt okay but I was worried that the drug could have changed my brain forever and I was curious about what really happened so If started googling. As soon as i read a few articles about weed and brain chemistry I started having my second panic attack and as I didnt know It was a panic attack I was convinced I became terminally insane.
You can take stuff that’s higher in CBD and lower in THC. When acquired in more illegal forms this may be harder to do. At a distro they can give you more professional advice but at a much higher price point, obviously. Back before marijuana was legalized in some states, a friend of mine told me that she had this problem for a long time with most strains of marijuana. Someone suggested she start using the Harlequin strain because it was only something like 5 (percent? Milligrams?) THC (something low like that) and much higher in CBD. After that, the given bowl no longer induced panic attacks. It is also a mental state thing: a dose that gave me the panics before, while sitting at home and perusal TV (for example) may not give me the panics when I’m out doing something, or am preoccupied. In some ways, being out in public might give me less of a chance to get hit with it because I’m forced to focus/ function and interact with people…but they have also hit me in public but mostly out of fear (like the doctor here says) of it happening while I’m out in public. The amounts that give me the panic attacks can either make me feel very blissful or bust out in a panic attack. I called them sometimes the marijuana fevers. Because I might get this weird chill sensation, like I have a fever, and the associated case of the panics. Usually I can tell when I start to feel cold when I would otherwise not be.
This is where my panic attacks started i remember smoking a massive bong then all of a sudden my heart started racing, i had tunnel vision, everything immediately became delayed i felt helpless and completely out of control. I just kept touching my face because it felt so laggy like id touch my face then id feel it like seconds later. I just jumped out my window and went for a long ass walk in my socks to try sober up. I never done weed again i was literally saying ill never do this again. The last 2 other times i had another panic attack was at a restaurant after drinking and at work under stressful workload. Now i suffer from anxiety and i have this fear of getting panic attacks anytime, my biggest fear is I’m afraid to lick my lips constantly because i remember whenever i had my first attack the delay in feeling my lips when i licked or bit them was freaking me out cause i couldn’t feel it my mind was so delayed. Every time i looked around it was all delayed i had no control over my senses whatsoever.
Consistent smoker for 13 years here. No anxiety, and never experienced panic attacks until about 2 months ago. Had 6 panic attacks back-to-back and ended up in the ER with elevated heart rate, high blood pressure, intrusive thoughts, sense of impending doom, could not stop thinking about mom and dad passing away. It even felt like I was dying, and felt the effects for about a week after I stopped smoking. Almost like psychosis. I started exercising and walking 2 miles a day. I haven’t smoked since that last attack but feel excellent now. I miss cannabis every second of every day. It is so strange to see how many folks have dealt with the exact same scenario. I’m going to try again after I have put some time and mileage in between the last attack someday. Could be years though. Best of luck to everyone. It’s all in our head.
i hit a weed the first time in my life for about 3 hours ago. And now im perusal this and hearing him explaining the way i was feeling. I am not fully sober right now but i remember that after hitting the last hit (5 times) i started panicking really badly (i was at work) i came down to the first floor, i was telling the tutor girl to call an ambulance and then i immediately stopped them and tried to calm myself down. Im not gonna lie, i dont want to try weed anymore if it makes me feel this way. Ive always thought that youd chill when you take stuff like this, maybe its just me. or maybe the way i always feel (depressed and alone) somehow affects the effect of the weed on me too
I can drink 20 beers in one night and nothing happen me but if I take just one pull of joint I have to go home and be alone (at this point I can even enjoy it) but if I’m high in public I feel like I’m naked, is like I have the feeling that everyone can see what I’m thinking, I can’t explain it, don’t know maybe it is just because we’re not used, because even my friends that smoke joints like cigarettes now, I remember them back in the days when they just started getting high they was nervous, you couldn’t had joke with them, and I remember someone fainted as well
Damn. I had my first panick attack every while I was high alone at 3am. I was the only one awake in my house and I had no clue what was going on and felt like I was gonna be dead. Looked at myself in the mirror and saw myself getting pale. This happened 2 months ago and ever since I’ve only smoked once or twice since i’m scared it’ll happen again
When I smoke weed I think of negative things at a very fast pace. Mostly it’s negative things about what’s going on around me or what I’m doing that very moment. It has always ended with me going to sleep so this feeling would go away. I have ADHD and I’m on the autism spectrum so I’m sure that has to be part of it.
When the mari triggers my anxiety its always a complete overanalyzing of my entire day, week, or month what i could have said or did wrong sum type of irrational perception of being in danger everything that was completely ok when i was sober was extremely dangerous and evil when im high and i want to withdraw and disappear. But i started talking myself down more i start with the presnt moment. Im safe im ok quit being ridiculous enjoy the high.
i smoked 5 years everyday nothing wrong. I loved being a daily smoker and smoked all the time. i took a one week break and smoked again. after that time i smoked after the break i had the worse panic attack that i now get everyday. I felt i couldn’t breath and my throat was swelling. I’ve never had a bad high so i didn’t know what to do i try every so often even though it’s been 2 years now. I still have the problem. i don’t know how to stop them and i want to smoke again. but the panic attacks always stop me. can anyone help?
It feels really weird, never felt this before, I took ¼ of a tlc gummy, after the trip I woke up and I felt weird, now I’m kinda focusing on my heart rate, that’s freaking me out in a way that I never felt, no pain or anything just like I know I got to stop it, but can’t find the way out of the “cycle” I don’t want to feel this way anymore.. help.
Thefun fact with me is when i smoked green for the first time I had a bad trip, panic attack, depersonalisation and derealization together it was like hell. I somehow managed it and had a bad trip and Panic attack again the next time when i smoked . The 2nd time i knew it was nothing to worry about and i started to have fun on a bad trip. Now that i have started to have fun on a bad trip i don’t get bad trip 😂
For everyone that had a panic attack when you got high, was there some thought that triggered the panic attack? In other words, you had some kind of fear of something > you got high > that fear you originally had got exaggerated > panic attack Or was it purely just physical symptoms with no thoughts or fear involved? Meaning you were having a good time > got high > heart started racing, fainting, hyperventilation = panic attack Thank you so much for your feedback/input
I’ve struggled with anxiety and panic attacks for years. Since I was a young kid. Then I smoked weed once and it was AMAZING. Nothing anxiety related happened. I smoked it again and FREAKED THE FUCK OUT, I was basically just high and having a panic attack the entire time. Then I smoked weed again for a third time and FREAKED THE FUCK OUT again, however I only freaked out for about 30 minutes or so and talked myself down and then I was able to throughly enjoy the rest of the experience. While you’re high you just have to find what works for you, and talk yourself out of the panic attack. I’ve also been looking into different strains. Strains that are higher in THC will cause paranoia and anxious feelings, but strains that are low in THC and high in CBD don’t make you as anxious. TLDR; I see a lot of comments from people who developed panic attacks and anxiety from a bad trip, but for me I was having panic attacks WAY before I ever smoked weed. So my perspective is from the opposite. I knew I was having a panic attack while high, being high just amplified it.
I’ve been smoking since I was 14 years old I’m 32 now. The last few months I would get very light headed and dizzy but it would go as fast as it came. When I say I smoke I mean I smoke Flower and Wax been a heavy smokers for years. I came home from work yesterday and smoked a blunt with my brother in law and started getting that anxious feeling and started getting light headed again but this time was different felt like my heart was going to explode out of my chest I started shaking uncontrollably shortness of breath honestly I thought I was having a heart attack. I am currently under a lot of stress and also battle with depression that’s another reason why I do smoke. Last night was a whole different Animal my Wife rushed me to the ER and as soon as I came in they were like oh your having a anxiety/panic attack and it all made sense to me in that one moment the gave me Lorazepam to calm me down which it most definitely did I still feel woozy. I don’t want to quit smoking marijuana what should I do guys?
So I smoke half a joint the other day in my garage and so I went in my house to sit on my couch and I started to feel paranoid like time was slowed down and I started to feel really light as if I was just floating or falling and I got yup and my heart beat started to beat faster and faster I was scared because I felt like I was going to die and I kept think that I was going to die.
Really never thought there were this many people who struggled with this exact same issue. I’m an addict who’s been using opioids, benzos, alcohol, meth, etc on and off for nearly a decade and it all started with me moving from weed to harder stuff, for many reasons, but one of the biggest was because I couldn’t handle weed anymore. I had a terrible trip on a research chem and ever since that I felt like I was having a horrific panic attack/Heart attack just about EVERY time I smoked. I don’t smoke for the most part anymore, but I tried picking up a vape pen a few months ago and giving that a try, and I still got that anxious, chest pain, fast heart rate feeling. I’ve been sober but struggling immensely with anxiety these past few months and idkk if I’ll ever smoke again, but if I do I feel so much better just knowing that there are so many people with this same issue. Thank you for the article, and especially thank you guys for the comments. It’s given me a lot to think about
Just happened to me like 3 weeks ago. Really bad experience, went to the ER thinking I was dying. My heart rate was in the 130s, but they still said it was just panic stuff. Since then I’ve had several more panic attacks and just overall high anxiety and some depersonalization. Just got on Lexapro a few days ago. Ideally I’d like to tackle this with therapy and wean off of the lex, we’ll have to see. Shit sux
ive been suffering since i was 13 im now 17 i still take therapy i started to live with it but the first time i had a panic attack i was 13 i smoked i was really high i was at a train station everything felt like it wasnt real i panicked alot im not to sure what it was for about 2 years to 3 years on i sufferd really bad anizety attacks every day i would have about 6/7 of them a day my mom wouldnt know what was going on i only started to live with it a year ago and sorta get anziety used to my life it doesnt go away i still suffer i dont have panic attacks like i used to i just overthink, If anyone else has gone through what i had please feel free to respond to me
I mean bro I had one but I dealt with it well and then a few months later I started having really bad anxiety like im scared or self conscious about people looking at me that bat which im not or maybe im so in denial that I dont realize I keep licking my lips when people come around and notice I swallow alot and feel like my nose is flairs uncontrollably idk what to do its kinda destroying me Ive never delt with this before and before that I felt unshakeable and really confident so idk what happened I smoke and thats it sometimes drink.
Your blood pressure goes down when you smoke weed and your body compensate by raising your heart beat. One of the reasons I stopped smoking weed years ago was because of how tacky I would get. The bad trips completely defeated the purpose of smoking, which was to feel good. However, I’m glad that it scared me enough to stop. There were times my heart rate would stay elevated for long periods of time. I’ve saved a lot of money over the years from not having to buy weed. Most of us would do good without it.
This might sound wierd but the way that i fight my anxiety nowadays is mentally challenging it like its a physical opponent lol if i get bad anxiety its like my body goes into survival mode and i tell my myself im no pu$$y ima fuck this anxiety up only one is gona come out this alive today! Lol strange tactic but it works for me
So glad to see I’m not alone. I’ve been having panic attacks from weed for 2 years and didn’t stop smoking for 1 day had over 1000 panic attacks from it probably. addiction is hard but I’ve finally stopped even though it’s only been a short time so far but I use to have anxiety when I first started smoking many years back so I stayed away but then one day I got the relaxing effects now back to the anxiety effects so I recommend to try a month off and see if you can reset the brain to not be so stressed when high.
I smoked for 14year stopped for 6months then started again and would get anxiety that I have never had before. Weed drops your blood pressure alot and your heart races because it’s trying to pump oxygen around the body due to the blood pressure dropping if you get dizzy and feel like your about to passout it’s because a part of your brain (can’t remember the name of it) isn’t getting the oxygen it needs. When to much THC enters your system it shocks the body because it isn’t used to it anymore or has never been used to it for 1st time smokers. Trying not to think about it won’t change the affects.
I appreciate this vid man, i had a seizure the other day while i was high n when i got high a few days later i started panicking very hard n thought I was gna have another. This really opened my eyes to what that was, im bunning up again today so I’m gna use what u’ve said to help me out. BIG LOVE man all the best 🙂
I also just got finished smoking on my patio and as soon as I came in some people out side start lighting fire works out side and I was on auto panic level 2 not extreme but it was enough to stop my appetite and lasted for about 3 hours it’s calming down now listing to this article helped aswell. Thank you this makes much since. 5☆
for my first time i got REALLY high and i saw like swirls and i perceived my high as eternal damnation like i was already in hell i was worried everyone i knew and loved was also in hell with me and I get jealous of people who don’t have this problem but after that i smoked and it happened again but it wasn’t as bad like i felt like i wanted to be sober again but being high itself wasn’t bad and i also noticed things i would never notice sober i felt like my friends weren’t really my friends and i kept trying to act normal but since i was noticing things i couldn’t before i felt like i noticed they can tell I was trying to act normal
I had my first Cannabis induced panic attack at work and it was so embarrassing omg I had hit a buddies wax cartridge (A Plug n play) and I felt fine at first I had been a smoker for about 2-3 years and so I thought I’d be fine but after about 20 minutes of getting off break I started feeling odd and outta no where BOOM I felt like I was dying my heart started beating out my chest I convinced myself I was gonna die I got so panicked I told my supervisor to call 911 🤦🏽♂️ they checked me out and they told me I was fine looking back at it now it’s really funny but still shocks me I haven’t touched marijuana ever since lol
You’re damn correct, it induces hardest anxiety, far more than that it gave me OCD, it starts with panic attack & stress, to neutralize stress negative thoughts come out & it also has made me empathetic & telepathic & now ppl are listening my negative thoughts. Thus I cannot be myself and I has to live in this constant state of imprisonment, this imprisonment feels like constant stress & anxiety & the loop goes on until people go away or I don’t hear their voices,
In conclusion depersonalization from weed made me think a lot of shit about witchcraft and i still think about it i felt like i was gonna die any time soon but i keep waking, right now i’m in a lot of medication and if it doesn’t work out i will accept it hence it’s a free highness 😂😂 on that i don’t enjoy the trips but I’m getting used to it i know it feels like shit but i will accept it 🥰 just that i lost interest in everything and i lost appetite if i could get a medicine for my lost of interest and appetite then i’m cool with the highness 😎🤞🏻
two tips: 1. 3:1 ratio. have cbd on hand. for every 1 hit of high thc concentrated cannabis, take 3 hits of cbd (in either bud or vape form). I would recommend taking two hits of the bud and six hits of cbd for the first half hour. Alot of people mess up with this and get way too high very quickly. Its not a race, and once you build a tolerance – you can take more. This is also helpful for saving money and the most efficient use of the bud you have. 2. Dont hold the high thc bud in for longer than a couple of seconds. Treat it as if it were a cigarette, inhale but don’t continuously hold it in until you stop having anxiety.
Smoked weed daily for about 10 years, never had any issues. Then in a matter of a month or two I started getting slight anxiety just after smoking weed, which would go away. But after a month or two I had a major panic attack and I wasn’t even getting high at the time – I was at work, with some stress and working fast. Ever since smoking weed almost always caused me anxiety which made me quit it altogether. I kind of tricked my body into reacting this way because of worries I have regarding unfair testing practices for drivers I might become a victim of, etc. Now I just don’t smoke and am better off. I wish I didn’t have to go through that stress and I am very angry that I had to give up something I like because I was pushed into anxiety by the law but I guess sometimes you can’t afford to wait around for justice and just need to adjust yourself to life… it’s only worth what it is because of the assholes you share it with anyways, be they stupid coppers or others 🙂
My main problem was that I’d eat food quickly or eat dry food and this combined with cotton mouth/ being high would cause me to believe that food was stuck down my throat. This would cause a panic reaction that would transform into a bad trip and fear of weed in general. This same panic would carry over to eating in general when I was already anxious/ stressed/ tired/ or just eating too quickly. I’d eat something and believe that it was stuck in my throat/ could kill me. I’ve experienced this enough (and survived) that even if I’m high as fuck I can still rationalize my way out of it that I’m not choking and it never bothers me when I’m not high anymore. I can still enjoy weed but I have to be careful/ mindful if I’m eating when I’m high. I haven’t smoked in months and I don’t miss it, however. Anyone else have a similar situation?
I used to have really bad anxiety and still have it sometimes, and this incident happened about a month and a half ago. I had a really bad panic attack at work and as soon as I left I started crying for no reason and my heart would race. It came out of no where. The next couple days pass and my friend invites me to smoke. Keep in mind I used to smoke about 2-3 joints a day 4-5 days a week. So I’m used to marijuana. So my friend invites me to smoke and right after about 8 minutes of smoking that joint my heart goes crazy and it hurt like crazy. And I’m super scared to actually smoke again, like an actual joint. But I’ve tried very very small dosages over the past few weeks but doesn’t feel the same. Just want to know if anyone else has experienced the same thing and some info about smoking would be great! Can I smoke again? Or can I smoke and take CBD? Is it the strain I need? I just really love smoking but if I have to give for good I’m okay with that.
I was smoking my brother dab pen at least 5 hits and before this, I haven’t smoke in a month or so and I always would smoke everyday but I stopped. Anyways, I was feeling fine the first 10 minutes, then I saw visuals like two eyes were looking at me and and then I started to have a panic attack. This had never happen to me when I smoked and I thought I was gonna die so I went to the hospital and was going nuts lol. I wasn’t high to be honest, I think my anxiety kicked in and went crazy
I started taking pre workout, I had a panic attack at the gym. Then I started having panic attacks during things like driving long distances. Then I started having panic attacks driving on the highway all together. Now I don’t drive on the highway, I had a panic attack while riding in the car on the highway, now I don’t ride in the car on the highway. My world has become a 10 mile radius.
Sorry bout the length lol The crazy thing about it was i smoked so much(daily) and for so long, to the point that i could go through a 1/8 of wax in 1 – 2 days(on top of bud) tops, with ease. Then one night i hit around a .1-.2(i had been smoking the same shit for a couple days, no problem) and it was like the most terrifying experience ever, like i really thought i was gonna die and ever since then i cant enjoy smoking. I quit for a year just to lower my tolerance and everything cause i was smoking way too much and figured i needed the break, but now everytime i smoke its just the same feeling over and over. But i guess all things come to an end, i definitely miss it tho!
I get anxious because I know I chose the wrong path and are only just coming out of a serious addiction to alcohol. I don’t look too sick anymore. When I was drinking for weeks on end i would get delusional. Sometimes it’s worth having a quiet word with yourself. And you’ll probably never want to do drugs again. And that’s okay. I’m sober again. Even coffee makes me anxious. If this is you. do not give into peer pressure. You’ll end up talking to psychiatrists and a mental health team. They will invade your privacy, put you on poison and ask you ridiculous questions that only God understands. Look after your head and your money. Anyone got any papers?
Honestly I think my shit was laced I smoke weed every day and I picked up some weed like a week or 2 ago and I’ve smoked it twice and it made my ears start ringing to where I couldn’t hear and I started to lose my vison it was going black and my heart was hurting from beating so fast and my chest was hurting I was super fucking hot as well and felt like I was gonna die if anyone has felt these symptoms smoking could you help me out and lmk what you guys think cause I’m scared to smoke cause I’ve never felt like that before definitely not going to smoke the shit I have now but I just want some help to see if anyone’s experienced this
Ok I’ll leave this comment here since all the other comments are old, please share your experience and if it went away it would help so many others (including me) who would like to do it again with no panic attack, my personal trip was awful (the most recent one yesterday) the rest were fine but this time I felt my heart pumping and skipping beats it felt like I ripped a hole and it started squirting blood everywhere I didn’t feel sleepy (which surprised me) and made me think my weed was laced but it probably isn’t laced (fortunately after perusal this article I knew) and my heart still pains me but less and it isn’t pumping as hard please reply to this comment and share your experience and/if you got out of it and how
For all the people who still want to get high but have the anxiety, it’s the high coming on all at once. I recommend just using a cart or something and taking small hits and building up the high to a state your comfortable with. I’ve always found going from sober to feeling like my mouth is swallowing itself and someone banging my chest is terrifying.
I’ve been having bad panic attacks the last 3 months after I had a bad stomach ache and wanted to puke because of dabs beer and junk food. Ever since that experience, Everytime I get high I don’t feel good, I’m very self conscious and over think shit. My voice locks, and throat feels funny like little spasms, I focus on my breathing, drinking and eating. It’s a horrible experience that I wouldnt wish upon anyone . I used to smoke 24/7 dabs on dab pens without coil for a year and stopped to get a rig. I started to excercise 4 times a week, eat better and lost some weight. I smoke now once a day or every 2 days but my tolerance has dramatically gone down compared to smoking 4-8 times a day everyday no breaks. After my highs go down, I feel better i stopped doing dabs, transitioned to back to herb bong or joint. Edibles are less instead cause I dose small quantities. my throat feels irritated after a joint or bong rip, it’s time for a break
everytime i smoke my heart beats fast and im scared im going to die of a heart attack or something and freak out, then i feel good after 1 or 2 hours weed is just not for me. my drug of choice was always oxycodone. never had nothing freak me out on oxy always felt super combfortable and talkative. combfortable in my skin
I used to enjoy smoking. But all it took once that one bad trip. And once the thought of death enters your mind, it’s a hard thought to filter out. And now, I deal with thanatophobia regularly. I don’t know whether it’s a “bad trip” or whether you really are subjecting your mind to a gateway for demonic voices to enter. You can overcome a lot of barriers in life. But you can’t overcome death knowing that it’s going to happen but not knowing how and when…..and it’s nothing you can do to stop it. Smoking weed induces this thought and I hate it so bad.
I dont smoke weed as the last 2 times I did, I had anxiety attacks… for anyone scared of it, after you smoke and you feel it coming on.. grab a shaker of black pepper and take slow deep breaths through your nose (with the jar right at your nose).. this will calm you down and give you something to focus on. It does work.. I fumbled around trying to find out how to get out of the state I was in and read it somewhere, and it did work.. not smoked since though as if I have to do that all the time, then whats the point. If this helps one person, Im happy
I had a bad trip just once while on a substance and after that I just started having panic attacks around the people who were responsible for it and I never had an issue like tht before even while I was on substances before but ever since that incident I developed hand tremors when I smoke in public or when am handing something over to a another person. I know it’s cause am overthinking but I’ve controlled it at times but there are times when no matter how calm I am I still get it . It’s been almost a year since the incident. I just felt tht sharing this here would help myself in some way☺️
I smoked once and had a really bad anxiety attack I thought I wasn’t real and loads of other things now even if I smell weed I get anxious or even if I see someone smoking or they’re high I get anxious. Every time I drink even a glass of alcohol I have a panic attack or feel anxious. I think just the worry of me having one again causes it.
Hello whoever seeing this, I had a severe anxiety attack and completely disconnected from reality when I smoked weed few days back and it was not my first time smoking weed, I took some too strong puffs and I can say it was not fun I literally felt that I’m gonna die, Im eager to do weed or acid in future please let me know will benzodiazepine will end this bad trip because Im scared to take benzodiazepine after smoking weed, please let me know. Thanks in advance
My state doesn’t sell normal weed that has alot of d9 in it. It sells this d8 stuff that is noticeably less high than d9 but also less anxiety at least if you have a normal tolerance. After like 3 weeks of just d8 I don’t get much anxiety type effects so I would look for it. It comes in a normal flower form for those that don’t wanna vape but they also have edibles and vape.
sounds strange but if I smoke during the panic attack, its almost like I smoke through it, then it passes and I’m in it. at that point I can smoke as much as I want and not worry. its just that toe dipping step that grabs ya by the boo boo. also can do baby hits and work your way up. once you conquer bigger hits, it gives you confidence and that confidence keeps anxiety away in my opinion.
I used to smoke for about a year, but my heart won’t let me smoke anymore because weed actually almost killed me. I have a really rare heart defect (TAPVR) and my resting heart rate is around 90 because my heart only gives me 2/3 of the oxygen of a normal person. Even if I do small hits, my heart rate shoots up because of my defect. There’s no cure for it besides the surgery i had. I can’t smoke anymore and it fucking sucks 🙁
What happened the first time for me is i took a few hits out of a bowl before one or two hits out of this shitty homemade gravity bong and nothing happened to me for at least 20 minutes so i was like what the hell. I did go into my first time only trying alcohol once before this, expecting it to come om gradually just the same. All of the sudden my ears started to ring out of nowhere and numbness formed in my hands and feet spreading throughout my whole body. I had a massive panic attack at the feeling and layed on my stomach until it finally went away, a huge sigh of relieve and i was high. It only lasted about a minute but it was the worst anxiety attack i ever experienced so i didnt touch bud again for almost 6 months. Then one night i was at a small party the same year and had about 5 beers in so i was pretty buzzed when i was offered a blunt so i took a couple hits and once again nothing happened. I was having fun drinking move and then threw a dip in and suddenly it hit me so hard i woke up about 30 seconds later and they said i lost my pulse for a few seconds. Most likely it was laced but i didnt touch weed again for 4 years. Then two nights ago after medical marijuana became legal in PA i was with a buddy who had it. I was drinking with them and was tipsy when they talked me into trying a blunt again. I said fuck it its been too long so i did. It unlike the other times hit me nice and gradually and before i knew it i was comfortably smoking all night. It was manageable and enjoyable i could definitely tell the difference between drunk amd high, and i had my first good experience.
Ive learnt that i have to set myself up for a successful smoke. If you smoke to run away from thoughts, ur anxiety will grow and will focus on any un dealt with issues. Ive have found that a few hits from a water pipe has the best results too. 99% of the time i have issues is too much thc intake because ive watched a dope as yola article and had 10 lung hits of gorilla glue
Ngl i had a panic attack at school I don’t know why I had been smoking never had a panic attack it was weird that I had one at school at all places I wasn’t nervous or scared but my body started getting hot so then I went to the nurse then second time I went to the this party I had 3 blunts and liquor also 9 BLK’S if anybody know what that is🙂but that’s when I was really was terrified after that i never went to another party
I had smoked marijuana two times and the second time.. it went all bad where I had my first panic attack and i thought I was going to die, which continued for the rest of the night. I had to fly back to my city the next morning.. where I had no sleep and had calmed down with everything that happened but once I waited to get on my flight.. I remember everything and my heart started racing fast again and went not one but two planes like that which has difficult to deal with. I went to the doctor and they said my heart was okay and even did blood work and everything was fine too. The only thing I deal with is my heart facing and feeling tension around my chest area and sensations around my body.
Glad I’m not the only one that felt this. I was smoking heavy for 2 years straight with no problems and then boom took a hit (not even a full bowl) and immediately felt off. It didnt help that I was going deep into existentialism. It felt like I could see all my lives. Its hard to explain the feeling and for a while I thought that it really was the universe telling me something. Obviously now I know that I simply had a panic attack but damn it fucked up smoking and haven’t smoked since then. Still got a 4 month old joint sitting the dispensary package
thanks so much for this Shaan. You legitimately answered all my questions. Before perusal this, I exactly thought of “what is wrong with me, why is this happening to me”, and I felt really shitty because my friends are having such a good time with weed, but I’m not at the moment. I hope your program will help me overcome these bad highs I’ve been having!
I used to have a lot of panic attacks, now I don’t have it anymore, just sometimes but it’s very difficult. I used to smoke a lot before, now I smoke less, like 4 blows, quit the fire of the blunt and wait to another session, and pauses of 2 or 3 days before another session. Another hint is, do something u like, eg, I like to walk, make soft exercises, clean my house, yoga or meditation, activities that I have to focus on something to not have a lot of thoughts on my mind, and if u see ur becoming weird, just think, weed is just like that, it’s okay, why am I overthinking on a moment I should relax and let I go ? Why do I have to take this so serious ? ( my eng is not very good I hope u guys understand )
I’m so glad I’m not alone I’ve smoked weed for about 2 years on and off however I had a panic attack the other month I smoked again to see if it still happens, it did, then again 1 month after I smoked 4 joints with some friends and it happened. It’s like a sudden darkness goes over my head within a matter of seconds then my heart beats extremely fast for about 3 hours and I think I’m going to have a heart attack. Think I’m going to give up on weed 😔
Hit a dab pen last night. First time ever touching weed. I felt like I was dying. I couldn’t breathe, I about passed out and it felt like I was having a heart attack. My entire vision was gone and I couldn’t feel any of my limbs for a good 5 minutes. I will literally never touch this shit again. There’s a reason it’s called Devil’s Lettuce because I was convinced I was going to die.
I heard that smelling the vapors of black pepper makes an attack go away fast. I even Googled it and it said the same thing. I had two ounces of a lot of different strains. And my attack hit me so hard that I got rid of all of it. It was helping with my inflammation but wasn’t worth the panic. If you never had a panic attack then you have no clue what is waiting for you.
My first time I actually got high was with edibles and I remember that I felt fine then I suddenly knocked out I couldn’t l tell if it was for a couple seconds or an hour but when i woke up my mindset switched to being scared for no reason I remember that I couldn’t feel shit and touched ice but didn’t feel cold to me i was just tripping and scaring myself more for no reason. So I recommend if its your first time Never use EDIBLES unless it was just me being a pussy
For me, I used to smoke weed when I was a teenager. Then one day I had an attack. Thought my heart was exploding. Swear I could feel my blood in my veins lmao. The next few times, I panicked. So I stopped smoking. Recently, I started going to therapy, and somehow, while in therapy, I talked myself into trying weed again. It was a weird convo. Tried it again, had a panic attack. Eventually I found that I have to micro-dose. Just can’t handle large amounts. An 8th lasts me like a month. But I slowly worked myself out of panic attacks, and can definitely say weed has helped me with depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
One time I smoked only 3 bowls but I just woke up after sleeping a very long time. When I sleep for long periods and wake up I feel like I’m going to faint I don’t know why it usually happens in the summer when my sleep schedule is fucked. But anyways I smoked these 3 bowls got really anxious when I was home alone and just felt like somebody was perusal me for some reason. I looked In the mirror and my anxiety just got worse so bad I eventually thought I was literally going to die because I kept feeling like I was going to faint. I sat and out of nowhere it was like my hearing faded away and my vision was tunnel vision for a minute or two then it slowly came back. I thought it was pretty crazy because I have never fainted before but I came close but after my vision and hearing came back I just walked it off…pretty weird.
I used to smoke every day literally morning afternoon night everything was nice until 1 day I literally felt my heart about to come out of my chest I thought I was getting a heart attack that was about 1 year ago I’m scared to even try smoke again but I can’t lie I fucking miss the buzz man I just wanna have a trip now and then. Not sure what to do man should I wait a bit longer?
