Can Waste Mana Be Produced Via Cryptolith Rite?

Cryptolith Rite is a card that grants colorless mana to creatures, which can be obtained through effects that specify the type of mana, such as Reflecting Pool, Naga Vitalist, and Zendikar Resurgent. However, it does not have the haste feature and cannot be used by existing shells.

The card does not do anything by itself and makes you tap for mana of any color. It allows creatures to tap for mana of any color, but colorless is not a color, so tapping them for colorless mana using the ability granted by the Rite is not possible.

Waste mana is produced by an Eldrazi devouring the color from the mana, leaving what is left as Wastes. Cryptolith Rite allows creatures to tap for mana of any color, but colorless is not a color, so tapping them for colorless mana using the ability granted by the Rite is not possible.

Cryptolith Rite offers a broader potential as it doesn’t restrict mana generation to a specific land type, giving players a versatile edge in any game. Secure the Wastes and Finale of Glory can provide a few bodies early or fill up the board once players have plenty of mana.

The cards Cryptolith Rite, Freed from the Real, and Mana Reflection result in infinite colored mana. Creatures you control have vigilance and can add one mana of any color to cast a creature spell. Mana Reflection must be on the battlefield, and Freed from the Real is attached to an untapped creature you control that does not have summoning sickness.

Does a sol ring make colorless mana?

The concept of colorless mana was introduced in Alpha with Basalt Monolith, Mana Vault, and Sol Ring. It posited that most mana comes in one of the five colors (white, blue, black, red, or green), but a sixth subset is not colorless and can only be used for non-color costs like artifacts. The text for Sol Ring was initially “Add 2 colorless mana to your mana pool”, but was later changed to “Add to your mana pool”.

Many cards include generic mana, allowing players to use any number of mana (colored or colorless) to pay for it. However, generic mana is a type of cost, while colorless mana is a type of mana. The concept of colorless mana was introduced with Oath of the Gatewatch.

Who is the weakest Eldrazi Titan?

Ulamog, the smallest and weakest of the three Eldrazi titans, is known for his bony helmet-like head, exposed muscle, and bony plates. He moves through a mass of tentacles studded with bony spikes and has two arms split at the elbow, leading to four hands. He is known as “The Reeking Titan” due to his constant stench of rotting meat, decay, and sulfur. Ulamog and his brood consume living and unliving matter, draining mana and vital energy from everything in their vicinity.

The processors of his brood transform the consumed energy into spell-like effects, creating plagues, deadly parasites, and endless spawn. The processors leave distinctive white, chalky lattice-like structures in their wake, transforming everything, including water, into a white manaless husk. Ulamog symbolizes plague, the blind bonds between parasite and host, and overabundance, symbolizing creation and destruction in unholy harmony.

  • I mostly like the non-commander combos. ( 2 galvanizers, 3-4 mana myrs, darksteel forge, and a propagator..= infinity myrs. + Toumb of the Spirit dragon land, gain one life for each colorless creature i control….9,999,999 indestructible myrs please. Also i gain 9,999,999 life. Full swing… But this is awesome! Thank you for advice on making myr commander decks actually useful.

  • Weirdly I saw a potential stax/prison style deck when I saw that ability to untap all of your Myr, cards like Opposition and Glare of Subdual actually pull double duty not only tapping down your opponent’s things but also tapping your Winter/Static Orb before your turn to get a full untap because of the wording of as long as said Orb is untapped

  • A bit late to the party, but… good to have you back Wedge! As for my take on Urtet, I’m adopting Tomer’s Tribal Tribal deck concept with Urtet as the commander. I imagine that it would be both hilarious and cool to play, though I’m having trouble getting the mana myrs, especially the blue one (obviously).

  • Those are awesome lists, here’s mine!(it still needs a little help maybe) (COMMANDER) 1 Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch (CREATURES) 1 Alpha Myr 1 Copper Myr 1 Darksteel Myr 1 Foundry Inspector 1 Gold Myr 1 Ichorclaw Myr 1 Iron Myr 1 Knighted Myr 1 Leaden Myr 1 Lodestone Myr 1 Myr Adapter 1 Myr Battlesphere 1 Myr Convert 1 Myr Custodian 1 Myr Enforcer 1 Myr Kinsmith 1 Myr Landshaper 1 Myr Moonvessel 1 Myr Propagator 1 Myr Quadropod 1 Myr Scrapling 1 Myr Sire 1 Myr Welder 1 Omega Myr 1 Palladium Myr 1 Parcel Myr 1 Perilous Myr 1 Sarcomite Myr 1 Shimmer Myr 1 Silver Myr (ARTIFACTS) 1 Altar of Dementia 1 Basilisk Collar 1 Chromatic Lantern 1 Cloud Key 1 Coldsteel Heart 1 Contagion Engine 1 Crucible of Worlds 1 Damping Matrix 1 Darksteel Forge 1 Dolmen Gate 1 Door of Destinies 1 Kaldra Compleat 1 Mindslaver 1 Mycosynth Lattice 1 Myr Incubator 1 Myr Matrix 1 Myr Reservoir 1 Myr Turbine 1 Nevinyrral’s Disk 1 Obelisk of Alara 1 Obelisk of Urd 1 Pariah’s Shield 1 Phyrexian Altar 1 Planar Bridge 1 Pristine Talisman 1 Relic of Progenitus 1 Sensei’s Divining Top 1 Shadowspear 1 Sol Ring 1 Sword of the Animist 1 The Ozolith 1 Unwinding Clock 1 Void Mirror (SORCERIES) 1 Global Ruin 1 Grim Tutor 1 Obliterate (ENCHANTMENTS) 1 Mirrodin Besieged 1 Overwhelming Splendor 1 Tempered Steel (LANDS) 1 Buried Ruin 5 Forest 5 Island 5 Mountain 5 Plains 1 Reliquary Tower 5 Swamp 1 Urza’s Mine 1 Urza’s Power Plant 1 Urza’s Tower

  • Love this article and excited to build it! One heads up for anyone buying the: ‘$40 Budget’ from TCGPlayer. If you put the deck in and use their optimizer, make sure to unckeck the “Foil” option under Printing before importing with the mass entry, as it will try and put in a Foil Myr Sire and Foil Symmetry Matrix, these foil versions are $20 usd ea. A card to manually swap is Clock of Omens, the one in the list by default is ~$5 when it can be had for ~$1

  • Why not run Temur Sabertooth and Dockside in the combo deck? All you need is 5 artifacts/enchantments on opponents boards, your commander, Jhoira and one Myr to send back to your hand. Make infinite mana, use that mana to send a Myr to your hand and recast. You draw your entire deck with Jhoaira and make a shit load of Myr tokens. Buff them up and give them haste….

  • Isn’t it a little stretch to call first 3 decks by different names? Key difference is including premium mana base and some expensive commander staples, they’re still all basically rely on generating tokens and counters. Don’t get me wrong, it is still very interesting and informative article, it’s just that latter decks are more of an upgrades than variations. Is budget version still able to work well? I’m worried about mana base without inclusion of trioms and few other expansive multicolored lands.

  • Combo deck commentary. -> Rocket Launcher is wrong. Goblin Cannon is correct. (with infinite mana you’d need to have telegraphed or left your combo piece ‘Rocket Launcher’ in play to been seen and/or removed.) You can do the same thing with Goblin Cannon, but it avoids the must have been in play since the start of your turn restriction. Check it out.

  • I’m a little bit sad that none of these lists include my favorite combo piece for Urtet: Aggravated Assault. I don’t think it’s any better than anything else listed but a lot more fun for me. Feels neat to ‘use the whole buffalo’. Also I think gemstone array fits really well into the proliferate list. It turns coretapper into any of the mana myr you need it to be, puts you up +1 mana every proliferate, and if you have unwinding clock, allows you to store that mana at half rate if you don’t want to just shove it into Urtet activations. Again neither of these are necessarily better, but they are fun.

  • 🙂 making a myr deck rn and I’ve just been torn by how many awesome ways there are to run this guy. I think I’m gonna end up settling on go wide + beat down with things like Akromas will, but I just can’t help myself but to include a few infinite combos!! The first deck that I’ve ever really wanted this to be a 150 card format!
