Astrology, a branch of paganism, has its roots in Eastern European pagan beliefs and traditions. The Zodiac, a symbol of the zodiac, is not inherently Pagan but has been integrated into these practices. Astrology is based on the idea that everything in the universe is interconnected, and it is central to Pagan traditions. In ancient times, astrology was considered a belief system interconnected with culture, politics, religion, and nature’s cycles.
In Hinduism, astrology was practiced by priests in Babylon as one of two ways for priests to determine the will of the gods. Astrology has no direct relationship with Paganism, as older forms were based on the annual sun cycle without considering planet positions. While many pagan faiths did utilize astrology as part of their practice, there was no historical religion devoted entirely to it.
In Pagan times, people believed that the planets had magical powers and were more in tune with nature. They saw crops grow when the Sun was strong in the Pagan world. Pagans believed that the stars were divinities or controlled by divinities. Early Christians and early Jews were vehemently opposed to astrology, attributing it to demonic origin. Practitioners of Wicca and astrology see consulting the spirits of nature and the universe as seeking wise counsel from a greater force than themselves.
Historically, astrology is rooted in pagan idolatry, with the basic concept that the movements of heavenly bodies control our lives being heathen. Some Pagans consult astrology, while others use Tarot cards, runes, or pendulums to access spiritual knowledge. Some Pagans read horoscopes for fun or seek guidance, while others are rooted in the ancient pagan practice of astrology.

What does the Bible say about astronomy?
In Psalm 8:3-4, David contemplates the greatness of God, observing the stars overhead. Psalm 19:1:1-6 celebrates the heavens’ glory, highlighting the sun’s position against the stars. Psalms 81:3 and 104:19 suggest that God created the moon to mark seasons, the Hebrew calendar’s appointed times. In Isaiah 38:1-8, God performs a miracle to prove King Hezekiah’s sickness and save the city from destruction by making the shadow on the royal sundial go backwards.
What do the Pagans believe in?
Pagans believe in deity manifesting within nature and recognizing divinity in various forms, including goddesses and gods. They view nature as sacred and the cycles of birth, growth, and death as profoundly spiritual. Human beings are seen as part of nature, with reincarnation being a significant aspect of their existence. Pagans have a positive attitude towards healthcare staff and are willing to seek medical help when sick.
Pagans worship pre-Christian gods and goddesses through seasonal festivals and ceremonies, which are observed by patients in hospitals. Individual patients may have special requirements, such as having a small white candle or a figure of a goddess on their locker.
Is astrology related to paganism?
In contrast to the cyclical observances of the pagan sun festival, astrology is not directly linked to the annual sun cycle. This is because in earlier forms of astrology, the positions of the planets were not considered.
Did God believe in astrology?
In Matthew 28:18, Jesus asserts that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him. This contradicts biblical wisdom, as chasing after false gods is a sin. There is no biblical evidence that God has given authority to stars or astrologists. Pursuing predictions about our destiny or personality is biblically sinful, as it takes power from God and gives it to something other than God. A horoscope cannot change what God has already ordained before we were even created.
Which religions forbid astrology?
Early Christians and early Jews were strongly opposed to astrology, with some even attributing it to demonic origin. The Church Fathers imposed strong sanctions against astrology to protect their flocks, with mathematician Aquila Ponticus excommunicated from the Church in Rome for astrological heresies in A. D. 120. St. Augustine believed that the determinism of astrology conflicted with Christian doctrines of man’s free will and responsibility, and that God was not the cause of evil. He also grounded his opposition philosophically, citing the failure of astrology to explain twins who behave differently despite being conceived at the same time.
The first astrological book published in Europe was the Liber Planetis et Mundi Climatibus, published between 1010 and 1027 AD. Ptolemy’s second century AD Tetrabiblos was translated into Latin by Plato of Tivoli in 1138. Dominican theologian Thomas Aquinas proposed that the stars ruled the imperfect’sublunary’ body while attempting to reconcile astrology with Christianity by stating that God ruled the soul.
The thirteenth century mathematician Campanus of Novara devised a system of astrological houses, while astronomer Guido Bonatti wrote the Liber Astronomicus, which King Henry VII of England owned at the end of the fifteenth century.
What religion started astrology?
Astrology has been a significant cultural tradition for centuries, with various cultures including the Indians, Chinese, and Maya developing elaborate systems for predicting terrestrial events from celestial observations. The Old Babylonian period of Mesopotamia saw the practice of astrology, with Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa being one of the earliest known Hindu texts on astronomy and astrology. Chinese astrology was elaborated in the Zhou dynasty, and Hellenistic astrology after 332 BCE mixed Babylonian astrology with Egyptian Decanic astrology in Alexandria. Alexander the Great’s conquest of Asia allowed astrology to spread to Ancient Greece and Rome, where it was associated with “Challean wisdom”.
After the conquest of Alexandria in the 7th century, astrology was taken up by Islamic scholars, and Hellenistic texts were translated into Arabic and Persian. In the 12th century, Arabic texts were imported to Europe and translated into Latin. Major astronomers like Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler, and Galileo practiced as court astrologers. Astrological references also appear in literature, with poets like Dante Alighieri and Geoffrey Chaucer and playwrights like Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare.
Astrology was considered a scholarly tradition, accepted in political and academic contexts, and connected with other studies such as astronomy, alchemy, meteorology, and medicine. However, new scientific concepts in astronomy and physics called astrology into question, leading to its decline in academic and theoretical standing.
Why is astrology considered witchcraft?
The conviction in malevolent spiritual entities gave rise to a dual condemnation of magical practices that sought to benefit humanity rather than cause harm, as well as divination techniques of all kinds. This was largely due to the fact that the ability to foresee and predict future events was often perceived as being closely associated with witchcraft.
Is astrology paganism?
In contrast to the cyclical observances of the pagan sun festival, astrology is not directly linked to the annual sun cycle. This is because in earlier forms of astrology, the positions of the planets were not considered.

But the Occult in general was having something of a ‘moment’ in he early 20th century. William Butler Yeats, the Irish poet, was actively involved with the Golden Dawn, and Aleister Crowley and HP Lovecraft were of this time too…Germany was not the only country where an interest in paganism was taking place
Artists tend to predict the future because creativity is intuitive at it’s core – I do remote viewing and have predicted a number of future events in my own life and the world at large (useful skill to have actually) – the process involves getting into a flow state and intentionally websiteing and recording information about a specific target – when an artist is painting or a musician is coming up with a song, or a writer on the Simpson’s is trying to come up with episode ideas, all are using the same intuitive faculties as a remote viewer – they are just doing it without a specific target. With the Simpson’s Phenomenon in particular you have a team of skilled creatives writing parody about the real world – their intention is to create situations that are amusing and based loosely on our shared experience – it makes sense that with this intention they would pull some stuff from the actual future once in a while, simply because certain events have “gravity” in psychic space and at the quantum level (where our intuition & creative faculties operate), time isn’t limited to a single linear direction the way we generally perceive it to be in our 3D world. Another one of my favorite examples of this is the book “Futility” about an unsinkable ship called the Titan, which ended up hitting an iceberg and sinking… the book was written 14 years before the sinking of the Titanic. Many people jump to conspiracy theories when these coincidences happen, but I am pretty convinced it is just precognition on the part of creative people.
So i’ve done Hitler’s zodiacal releasing, it’s probably one of the most poignant examples of it i have. He had his Lot of Fortune in Cancer, in the 10H. He overall had 3 “eras”. Cancer- 25 years 1889-1914. Leo- 19 years 1914-1933. Virgo- 20 years 1933-1945 because he thankfully died. But basically you could think like the two biggest turning points in his life outside his control were in 1914 and 1933. Gee, i wonder what of significance happened in those years. But i was thinking of this while listening, starting in 1933 it was ruled by his Mercury in Aries. This Mercury that rules his Pluto-Neptune conjunction. I always think of his Aries Mercury as being that ranting, raving screaming he was known for. But at least from Hitler’s perspective his entire reign was literally ruled by Mercury. When you think of the Nazi regime, all the worst parts were during this Virgo period in Hitler’s life ruled by an Aries Mercury. Which is… a really succinct way to think of the Nazis. The Virgo style, this obsession with perfection and cleanliness and rank and order. That famous Nazi “diligence” or attention to detail. But to further describe the flavor this Virgo is ruled by an Aries Mercury, so they’re “warriors”, exalting selfishness and generally a martial nature. I had been leaning more towards thinking of Odin as Saturnian but i’m back on the fence. Great work Dan!
There is a tarot deck with all the famous sketches of each demon. Obviously should not be used, but on looking at each new, they actually resemble historical characters. One of king charles in particular. These sketches are from 1800’s. It does make you wonder if artists are in touch with the beyond, for warning purposes.
Wow! This parallels a story Steiner told of an ancient German master called Sig, possessed by Odin with the task of “leading the Northern culture to its downfall” or “tragic doom” in order to make way for the next stage of development eg Christianity. Allow me to spice things up by adding that in the Eastern part of Europe (which sadly is usually ignored) in 1899 (10 years after Hitler was born) Corneliu Zelea Codreanu was born in Romania (he had German origins from his mother’s side btw). As an adult, he started The Legion of the Archangel Michael – ultranationalist and anti-Semitic organization. Didn’t you mention something about Michael? A fundamental feature of the Legion was the cult of death and the glorification of sacrifice… Weird enough, a while back, I found an ultra-nationalist Swedish youtuber who absolutely loves Corneliu Z Codreanu. I couldn’t believe it tbh
Thought provoking take. Archetypes/ Gods represent the various energies and patterns that govern the mechanics of the universe. These energies are supremely potent, as they have the force and power to create and destroy, which our ancient ancestors understood and respected. Our forebears had a much better grip on the forces of nature, and what was needed to appease/ please the Gods/ Goddesses within their pantheon. Each culture had a rich heritage of mythological tales, which were a source of guidance for honouring the natural cycles of life. the decline and deliberate persecution of pagan traditions marked a spilt in the psyche of man, as we were cut off from the source of guidance, rituals, customs, that maintained our connection with the Gods. They still exist, as the powerful entities they have always been since the dawn of time. The appearances we have of them are irrelevant, they wield the same power and force whether we believe in them or not. Every pantheon & civilization has their own versions – different Gods/ Goddesses but they represent the same energies/ forces. Every pantheon has Gods of War. Goddesses of Fertility….etc. In the case of the Germanic people, it would make sense that they fell under the spell of this God in the incarnation of Hitler. The timing of his birth with this painting suggests a preparation for the later defeat of WW1. The energy of this God was embedded deep in the psyche of the Germanic people, and the archetype was ripe for activation after such a crushing defeat.
Can you do an astrology of WW2. Because it the Axis were wining non-stop almost by sheer luck int he first couple years of the war. And the Allies were making blunder after blunder, it baffles the mind how stupid they were, stuff they never did in the later years of the war. So, it seemed that astrology or some sort of other influence had something to do with the early success of the Axis powers. If you study history, you can see that both the Japanese and Nazis had the same sort of uncanny luck that beat the Allies in the opening years of WW2. The Low Countries, the battle for France, the early stages of the North Sea, the early Desert war, the opening of Barbarossa, just everything went the way of the Nazis. Pearl Harbor, the Invasion of the Dutch East indies, the Philippines, and Singapore everything went the way of the Japanese. And the amount of sheer stupidity done by the Allies to cause them to lose all that, seems like it’s more that just as series of uncanny accidents.
Given your loose familiarity with Steiner you might also like to unpack the idea that the being that possessed Hitler was indeed the preparer for the incarnation of Ahriman. IS that also there in the stars? Ravenscroft also gives an interesting and entertaining introduction to Nazism and the dark occult forces residing in the belly of the beast, though academics will be less enthusiastic. …………. 19 minutes in I see you did 🙂 BTW Soloview’s “Short Story of the Anti-Christ” is very interesting in the context of events in and around Israel.
It is also very easy to be possessed on amphetamine in my opinion, from my own experience and from what I have seen. The perfect drug to produce the magical and warlike state. Punk was born from the same place but musical dissonance . Obviously I haven’t done the astrology Very interesting article thank you.
I have a variation of that Thule symbol tattooed on my face. I didn’t mean to. I’m from a town in Montana called Circle where I grew up on a farm. When you register a brand, it has to be original, so we would know who’s animals belonged on which ranch. My father registered the circle x brand, just because it was a two-iron brand that wasn’t taken in Circle yet. He didn’t mean anything nefarious by it, but the brand that I tattooed under my right eye like a teardrop to symbolize growing up on a farm in Montana, looks eerily like the Thule symbol.
Wow. Got goosebumps right off… Excellent journalism — in a very new-Earthian way — cuz only then will your approach that includes the spiritual aspect be “normal” reporting instead of esoteric/threatening. Yeah… you’re digging around and connecting the dots of what no one else is seeing. Great job! (Too bad it’s so ugh of a subject.)
Not a portal opening for odin but to the aesir. Odin was not born aesir but jotun like his brother loki. Tyr is aesir an the orginal skyfather the father of baldr, odin is a manipulation of modern pagan belief he is a god but not the, in order for him to continue living they put him in a perpetual state of fear hence his anxiety of ragnarok. He allowed Christians to use him to convert as a sky all father deity but ultimately like his brother loki it is his nature to rebel in a rather extreme way. Tyr aint racist example how he treated fennrir an other jotun allowed odin to become aesir after the ydraggisil ritual of 9 days to deify him. The truth about all this will be revealed but im blessed thst ive had acess to some of this information before yall. Jus dropping the jems
I almost decided not to let my light shine, but I listened to the Lord, and He said to shine a Light. First, let me summarize a little about my experience in this life. I was raised up in the Pentecostal Holiness denomination of the church. It was a strict upbringing, but all things considered, I was a happy child. My parents got saved when I was 5 years old, and we moved to a small community of like-minded believers and we lived there until I was 12. I’ve always been fascinated and intrigued by the Word of God and had a God-given ability to notice patterns and symbolic repetitions in the Scriptures. So when I was 5 years old, a preacher laid his hands on me and prophesied saying that I would help to lead many people to God. Then at 6 and 7 years old, 2 other preachers from different cities also prophesied about me leading many souls to find redemption. At about the same time, my parents and I were attending service and I was sitting behind another member of the church, brother Mitch, and as I was sitting there, I began to look at the back of Mitch’s head to the point where I was actually staring at his head. I had begun to see snakes swirling all around in his head. Not knowing at the time that some people in the community were trying to catch a prowling, peeping Tom who had been stealing men’s and women’s undergarments that were drying on the clothes lines. My parents knew about it but they hadn’t told the children about it. My mother didn’t think much about it but knew that it was a sign of something.
In Norse mythology the gods are prophesized to return for a final fight at the end of the world, and Odin is defeated by Fenrir the wolf whose main characteristic is that it continues to grow to consume the whole world until it its restrained – echoes of the British Empire, which came closest of any to consuming the whole world? Perhaps we should be expecting Thor to come back and take on the serpent which coils itself around the whole planet (world government?) next. Perhaps Putin is Thor, he seems macho but not too bright the same as Thor and he’s certainly taking on the global hegemony as he puts it.
Just because someone resembles someone from the past doesn’t mean they’re possessed. As well, the body cannot be POSSESSED! The body only has room for one body…Your Own! But yes, there is such a thing a spirit ATTACHMENT. An entity attaching itself to one’s auric field. So.Did Hitler have a spirit attachment? Or are we merely blaming something else for his behaviour? Erasing his personal responsibility ???
Great article essay again Dan! Especially the connection you pointed out between Wotan, Mercury and Gemini. That brought up a question to my mind, however. What about the first Pluto-Neptune conjunction in Gemini, in 1398-99? Did that also wake up some Wotan-like spirit in the history of the past 500 years?
Interesting when you know the history of Yahweh. Because he is a war god. And the Son of El. El is SATURN. When you merge this with what the early Gnostic Christians believed the God of the Old Testament to be, the blind god Yaldabaoth, or the Devil himself, and the similarities between Jesus Christ, and the biggest religion that was going on around that time, which was the worship of Dionysus. The wine god. And here you have Wotan, manifesting in mortal form … The Gods are still at play.
I truly respect how deep and detailed this analysis is, but honestly even at the most basic level of astrological interpretation – your Sun sign – Hitler is a fascinating case with a birthday that is literally on the border of Aries and Taurus. Failed painter turned fascist military dictator who had a grudge with borders, among other things.
German poet Stefan George had the clearest understanding of Hitler’s vile nature. (See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_George) He had a very low opinion of Hitler, wrote a poem called “The Antichrist”, and was an inspiration for two brothers in his “circle” — Claus and Berthold von Stauffenberg — to try to overthrow Hitler in the July 20th plot because of Nazi evil. Claus witnessed and protested against the Shoah that he witnessed in Vinnitsa in August, 1942: “They are shooting Jews in masses. These crimes must not be allowed to continue.” By 1944, he would sometimes quote “The Antichrist” and had told a fellow Catholic in the resistance, “We are being tested before God”. Some of the plotters were motivated because Germany was losing the war, but the morally-motivated ones are a timeless reminder that whenever and wherever human evil arises, there are always good forces fighting back! German Chancellor Olaf Scholz couldn’t have attended D-Day commemorations if he didn’t come from a now-honourable country that the failed resisters helped create.
When I was young below 10 years old, I have so many questions why Jesus become God because I’m lessening to my mother’s story about the Bible and Jesus. My Mother can’t answer it. Even my grandmother who were born again Christians can’t give me the clear answer and saying Bible is holly that as a human we can’t understand what was written. They all explained me about holly trinity. Until I landed in United Arab Emirates Year 2009 were I see how Muslims live and started to understand Islam. All my questions were clearly answered. Now I’m a Muslim praying to one and Only God Allah SWT
This was brilliant and sensational. An absolute masterpiece. As an ex Catholic and Ex Christain who understands Jewish history and familiar with Greek history this makes so much sense. Jews died for Monotheism for 100s and 100s and 100s of years and were oppressed for 100s more because they wouldn’t align the Roman occupation and worship their God’s… The Roman’s used the prophet Isa(as) and turned him into God because it already aligned with their pagan practices. Strict followers of Monotheism (Jews and Muslims) have always been an oppressed people dating back 6 to 10 thousands years ago and the same is true today. Anyone who aligns with the 1 God, who doesn’t associate partners, who knows God doesn’t have children, wives, roommates etc, that God doesn’t share his divinity to any of his creatures and that there is nothing comparable to him wins in this world and the next and we are willing to die for it. Literally everything else is nothing but conjecture.
“Hamza’s critical analysis of character of Prophet Mohammad” argument: 1. Was prophet Mohammad a liar? =) Human beings lie due to their motives. If there is no motive why should a person lie. He was known as truthful and trustworthy before claiming prophethood. People used to keep their bailment with prophet Muhammad pbuh. Because they knew that this person will never cheat. When two tribes went in conflict, they used to call prophet for making a decision. What was the emergency to lie after spending 40 years of his life. Let us analyse all the possible motives. Money: We know that prophet Mohammad pbuh was married to richest women in Mecca. After claiming prophethood, he became the poorest in the city. His wife Aisha RA narrates that for 40 days there would be no food to eat except dates. He was offered too much money and status by the pagans to stop preaching the message but he denied it by saying “Even if u keep sun in my one hand and the moon on the other, even then I won’t stop preaching this message of truth” . And by the way inventing a religion is the last thing that a person will think to earn money🤑😂 Fame : fame without money and luxury is useless. After claiming to be a prophet, he and his companions had to face oppression and severe torture in Mecca. Due to which they had to migrate to Madinah. Even there they were attacked by the mushriks of Mecca several times. What kind of motive is that and why would a person spend his whole life to gain such a fame?
As a Christian perusal this article was very interesting and insightful, it made me re assess many assumptions I had and increased my existing interesting in Islam. However, while I am a still a Christian and obviously disagree with him in certain ways and I don’t think some of his language is the best for peaceful inter-religious dialogue, I can see his point of view and hope he continues with his website. Mashallah
Excellent dawah. Best convincing explanation I have heard. Indeed concept of triune god is rooted from paganism. I reverted in 2018 after much research on Islam. Alhumdulillah 4ever. May ALLAH guide my family to Islam. May ALLAH forgive all muslims and grant us al jannat ul firdaus. Jazaka ALLAHU khayr brother. Subhanu ALLAH. 🤲🏻
One of the reasons that makes me stick to Islam badly is the pure monotheism . Alhamdulilah for being Muslim . I tried several times to imagine that I am Christian and listen to their responses and try to make it pass through my mind and my heart but seriously I couldn’t get over the fact that their doctrines are very weird and all pagan . Something inside me still rejects their doctrines .
SubhanAllah so true. I was reading the Bible yesterday because I felt sad and missed my old life (asrifirgAllah, May Allah guide me and us all) and the first thing I read was about rituals of sacrafice to God. Burnt offerings and all this strange stuff. Sounded just like the pagan religions of Ancient Rome!! But when I was Christian we never heard of this from the Old Testament, only focusing on the New Testament and how Jesus “saved” us all. The old and New Testament are such different books that it’s obvious it was written for 2 different religions and a lot of it feels very pagan. May Allah strengthen us in our deen!
Salamu Alaikum brother. Mashallah. You’re doing a phenomenal work here. May Allah rewards with goodness. However, I would like to translate your articles for French Speaking Audiences. I will not infringe any copyrighted material. Just a translation for an audience that doesn’t speak English. I believe this would have a ripple effect inshallah! Please say yes!
This article is incredible. The amount of time that is invested in doing research and bringing forth the message in the best possible way in this article, just needs to be appreciated immensely. If you still don’t change your pagan ways after perusal this clear article, with all the proofs and references that the speaker has given, then there is something seriously wrong with you. How much regret would you feel if you don’t do your own research and die in the state of ignorance. This article really needs to be shared on every social media platform possible!!!
