Do Mystic Allies Qualify As Pets?

In Diablo 3, any AI-controlled entity owned by a player is considered a pet, including pets summoned by their pets. This includes DH sentries, companions, pets from procs like Maximus the 2h sword, skeletons from the ring set, WD dogs, gargantuan, and fetishes. The Mystic Ally is considered a pet in Diablo 3, as it is an AI.

Pets are classified as ‘Non-Combat Pets’ or ‘Cosmetic Pets’ who are summoned from the Wardrobe like aesthetic items. They cannot help players in gameplay. The Mystic Ally summons two Mystic Allies that fight by your side, increasing damage to a single element for 4 seconds. This non-static effect rotates through the game.

The build works with Area Damage (AD), but Mystic Ally unfortunately procs it at a reduced rate, making it meaningless. However, as pets, Mystic Allies do utilize Attack Speed as a separate damage multiplier among other interactions. Any item that increases pet damage, like enforcer, tasker, and theo, counts as a pet.

The Mystic Ally is a Focus Monk skill in Diablo III, unlocked at level 22. It grants a permanent combat pet that attacks enemies, provides passive bonuses, and can buff all pets summoned by your class skills and passives, but not items. The exceptions are items that summon pets that link to your class.

It is important to note that Mystic Ally is a pet, and you can see your own pet’s HP bars next to your own. In summary, any AI-controlled entity owned by a player is considered a pet, except for followers and hirelings.

These similarities include the use of AI and the possibility of falling in battle if their master dies. Those who have chosen the Necromancer, Druid, or Witch Doctor class have the option of inflicting considerable damage through the use of pets. However, other classes may elect to prioritize the utilization of pets. In Diablo III, the pets of other players are displayed in a transparent manner, which reduces their visibility.

Patch 2. 4. 1 introduced nearly 20 new Pets to Diablo, with most being dropped by the Menagerist Goblin. After killing the Goblin, a random Pet in the form of a legendary consumable item will appear in your Wardrobe. To summon Liv Moore, visit The Weeping Hollow and kill a rare Super-unique zombie called Ravy Lilliwhite. Ravi is a direct reference to Ravi Chakrabarti and Major Lilywhite, who are big fans of Diablo 3.

In Diablo, players may encounter various types of Pets, some of which are obtainable during regular game-play and others are rewarded for participation in special events, achievements, Season’s journeys, or purchasing Limited or Collector’s Editions of Blizzard Games. Participation in Season Mode is recommended as the cosmetic rewards are easy to obtain and unique, likely unavailable ever again. The Compendium provides a list of locations, routes, and tips for finding the Menagerist Goblin.

In Diablo 3, there are two types of pets: Non-Combat Pets and Cosmetic Pets. Non-Combat Pets are aesthetic items summoned from the Wardrobe and cannot help in gameplay or battle but can collect gold for players. Cosmetic Pets enhance certain items like Enforcer, Tasker, Theo, or Mask of Jeram. However, their attacks do not give life on hit and do not trigger any special effects. A list of all pets in Diablo 3 is provided, separated by how they can be obtained.

Does mystic ally count as a pet?

In this context, AI-controlled entities that are owned by a player are considered to be pets, with the exception of the follower. The Ring of Emptiness has no impact on the damage inflicted by pets; however, the Phantasm rune of Spirit Barrage is considered a pet for the purposes of interacting with Mask of Jeram, Tasker and Theo, and Enforcer. Nevertheless, it should be noted that this has an impact on the Ring of Emptiness. It is advisable to experiment with the system when there is uncertainty, as some aspects may be ambiguous.

  • Hi I have been asking google and a bunch of places, we are now in prepatch, but they took away the ability for me to be able to see my pets abilities, I would like to know if there is a place where they hid them or did they take them all away? I used to be able to see my pet abilities and now I’m not, it used to be under the spell sheet and your pet abilites would pop up on the next tab but as it stand they are no longer there, thank you in advance.

  • Good guide, just a quick question. I love to run double wolf, normal wolf and Gara (spirit wolf). Just for the look and feel. I notice leech helpt me alot in open world content. Just a question I get this is the most optimal use of pets. But if you’re just a cusual player going for low m+ with guildies and normal maybe heroic raiding and some open world stuff. Does it matter so much to give up on a favorite pet. How much difference is the ideal pet gonna make?

  • i have a question regarding the second pet via animal companion talent which allows me to use 2 pets at once no matter what and how i tame beasts it always allow me to summon gruffhorn as a second pet. It doesnt let me choose which other pet i want to use as second one and its getting annoying. I even tamed another gruffhorn which doesnt summon aswell. Help! What im doing wrong? And if so can i have other pet as a second? Thanks in advance. Should i release the gruffhorn in order to summon other pet as active? Im afraid if i do that i won’t have 2 pets at once since that is the only one summoned.

  • Just to add. If you don’t need the spirit beasts heal, and you don’t need mortal wounds because someone else is bringing it. You can also opt for a pet like a chimaera that deals aoe damage. This can be especially useful in mythic+ or general dungeons when you need more aoe damage since there’s so much trash mobs. You can also swap pets later if need be for some specific situations.
