Do Scientists Think Chakras Exist?

Chakras are a system of energy centers in the body, believed to be a product of spiritual belief systems. Despite widespread belief in their existence, there is a lack of scientific evidence supporting their effectiveness. Some skeptics argue that chakras are nothing more than a theory with no real backbone, and that they do not exist. The seven main chakras in Hinduism and Buddhism are believed to run along the spine, starting at the base and extending to the crown of the head.

The chakra system originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC and can be thought of as our body’s subtle energy system. There are seven chakras, each with a unique meaning about our body and life. While these ideas fit snugly into a more modern explanation of the chakras, there is no scientific evidence to back them up.

Chakra theory followed the Vedic concept that living beings are energy, not merely mind-body matter. It took science 5000 years to accept this concept. Although the chakra system may be discussed among yoga practitioners, it is often regarded as a myth among scientific communities. Chakras are a deep science developed from ancient wisdom and are not a “new age” phenomena. Believers in chakras claim that they experience physical, mental, and emotional improvements after alignment of their chakras.

In conclusion, while there is much controversy surrounding the existence of chakras, many people report the benefits of working with their energy centers. Despite the lack of scientific evidence supporting their existence, many people continue to practice their beliefs and practices.

Is there any scientific evidence of chakras?

Chakras, a concept in Hinduism, are believed to correspond to physical body parts, particularly the nervous system. The nervous system consists of the brain and spinal column, which contain nerves that branch off from the spine in bundles called plexuses. Primary chakras, located down the spine, may correspond to the central nervous system and their connection to specific health aspects may relate to different nerve plexuses. For instance, a 2017 cadaver study found that the root chakra might be related to the inferior hypogastric plexus.

Does God talk about chakras?

The Bible does not explicitly mention the chakras or energy, which may seem like a cause for concern. However, it is important to note that the Bible is not the only source of information about God’s creation. It also shares God’s promises in the world. The Bible was not intended to be an exhaustive text describing the intricacies of God’s creation. However, we can find concepts like the “breath of life” in Genesis 2:7, which refers to the vital life force or life-giving energy. This highlights the importance of considering the Bible as the Word of God and not as an exhaustive description of God’s creation.

Are the chakras good or bad?

Chakras are energy centers that can have both positive and negative effects if not properly equipped. Working with these centers involves releasing old emotions and experiencing heightened consciousness, but it can also expose one to negative aspects of the energy world, such as intense energies and exposure to bad spirits. It is crucial to approach chakra meditations with caution and avoid overwhelming the system with trauma.

For example, if a blocked third eye chakra is causing difficulty trusting intuition and foresight, it can be balanced through third eye opening activities over time. However, forcing a chakra open can lead to negative effects, such as overwhelming the system or causing harm. It is essential to avoid forcing a chakra to open quickly, as this can lead to negative effects.

Are chakras psychological?

The chakras represent the human soul’s architecture, revealing the inner psychology of how we respond to life. The ability of each chakra to handle life force effectively is influenced by our programming. As we grew up, we created defenses in our body armor, belief systems, and emotions, which can sometimes serve us but become ineffective in adult life. These defenses are largely unconscious and become “normal” until something doesn’t work in our life, such as our body, relationships, work, sexuality, or communication. To explore this inner territory, we need a good map to understand our inner territory. By examining our programming, we can better understand and address the challenges we face in our lives.

Are chakras haram in Islam?

Chakras, Meridians, and Reiki are practices in Islamic healing that may not be explicitly impermissible, but they have some connotations and influence from other religions and cultures. It is best to avoid these practices and follow other prescribed ways of Islamic healing that are more fitting for your faith, physical, and spiritual journey. The divine energy and healing of Allah Most High and his Prophetic Light are better and free from doubt than other energetic healing methods. An example of a dua asking Allah Most High for light is to recite and memorize it, asking for His divine light to enter each limb and body.

Should Christians do yoga?

Yoga, a platform for physical, mental, and emotional wellness, can benefit Christians in the same way as all practitioners, regardless of their religious beliefs. Self-awareness, a concept in yoga, is universal and involves achieving mental clarity by focusing on the present moment. This is applicable to both yoga and Christianity. For yoga practitioners, self-awareness is an objective, while for Christians, it serves as a means to an end. Through self-awareness, Christians can identify faults and circumstances that hinder their connection with God, promoting a deeper connection with their spirituality.

Is yoga haram in Islam?

Yoga provides a multitude of salutary effects and is not a religious tradition that forbids its practice. It is appropriate for those who find it enjoyable and those who are uncomfortable with certain aspects may choose to abstain from participation. The roots of yoga are not affiliated with any specific religion.

What does God say about energy?

The speaker evinces pride in their faith, asserting that they will serve as living proof of their dedication to Christ’s altar, even if they are executed. Furthermore, they express a desire for others to share in their joy, stating that they do not feel sorry for them, regardless of their actions.

Are chakras a theory?

The chakras are seven centers of concentrated metaphysical energy in Hindu spiritual traditions, positioned from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each chakra vibrates at its own frequency, funneling energy from the universe into the body’s energetic system. Although the chakra system is discussed among yoga practitioners, it is often regarded as a myth among scientific communities due to limited research.

Anatomical theories of the chakras have attempted to link them with anatomical locations in the physical body, such as the esophageal, aortic, hypogastric, and pelvic plexuses, the prefrontal cortex, and neocortex. However, psychologist Richard Maxwell calls these attempts “overly zealous attempts to reduce chakras to a physical structure”.

Why do people believe in chakras?

Chakras are believed to provide subtle energy that aids organs, mind, and intellect in functioning at their best. Although not extensively studied in medical studies, they can help individuals understand their mind and body like any religion or belief. Chakra beliefs have been present in Hindu and Buddhist spiritual traditions for at least 1, 000 years, with some suggesting they date back to 1500 BCE or more. Chakras are mentioned in ancient Hindu spiritual books like the Vedas and Yoga Upanishads, suggesting people likely believed in them before the information was recorded.

What religion do chakras stem from?

The term chakra, derived from the Hindu/Yoga tradition, refers to psychoenergetic centers in the subtle or nonphysical human body (lingadeha) discovered in ancient India. These centers move in a circular manner, funneling universal energy into the human energy system. The ancient Upanishads, dating back to the seventh century BCE, mention an esoteric human anatomy composed of subtle life energy or prana, consisting of 72, 000 nadis or channels. The Maitri Upanishad (6.

21) mentions the Sushumna channel, central to Kundalini Yoga philosophy and practice, as well as the chakras. The Upanishads also describe five elements – earth, water, fire, air, and ether – associated with this subtle body. Meditation and its practices are central to the Vedanta philosophy and practice, as described in Adiswarananda’s meditation guide and Avalon’s book on serpent power.

  • This website made me research sacred geometry about 5 years ago until I went down every rabbit hole of history and spirituality that I could until I learned too much. I have a few less friends now and most people think I’ve done too many drugs. Unfortunately, they are right, but I don’t regret perusal all these articles many many times. Thank you for these articles! peace.

  • I want to say before I forget. Spirit science is one of the only reasons I am who I am today, plant medicine opened my eyes to a new world and spirit science educated me on this new world. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. When I was younger and first watched these articles they have me life. We appreciate everything you do for the life on this planet!

  • Yay i was your 100th like on this vid! Your articles are soooo amazing for a lack of better words!!! I am a muslim and honestly i dnt whole heartedly accept certain spiritual knowledge.. not due to fear of education but because of my upbringing and undying certainty of the truth in my belief! But hey…. i insanely love your articles and think it’s very educational and inspiring

  • This is really crazy, because all these years you guys have been making articles and somehow I never subscribed until last week. And then I decided to watch the really old articles in order. I was wondering where this one was and was searching everywhere for it, lol. That was literally like 2 days ago. The universe works in mysterious ways, 🙂💗

  • When i was 17 I used to do psychedelics, and one time i was perusal the Marvel movie Dr. Strange. For the first third of the movie i was entranced by the trippy geometry, but when it got to the part in the temple. Her voice. Her proposal. Then the notion of the spirit and astral plain. It captivated me, because i was an atheist at the time. Yet this wasnt off the cards. This had its own ground, outside of religion. Id never looked into spirituality, under the impression it was hippy stuff. But that movie, in that sensitive state. it compelled me to try to achieve that phenomenon. That however, didnt play out well. I became an obsessed level of determined, and after a straight month of attempts. I succeeded. I ignored the warning of jumping ahead and got what i sought. It, didnt play out well. It shattered me. I wasnt ready to learn i was wrong beyond a measure. It drove me mad with a thirst for answers. Because that was REAL. More so than this dense dream. All i needed was to understand it. No belief, no preconceptions, no limits on my perception. Everything was back on the table now. I dove head first into the rabbit hole. I lost my sense of self and my desire. I hit a hard reset and became someone new inside someone elses body. I inherited their memories, their face. Their life. I fumbled the relationships they had built up and continued alone. I found the means of hitting the reset again and willingly surrendered control. Like before, a new ego formed in the absence of the last.

  • its funny timing that i finally found a good and informative website about the Questions that bothered me for quite some time. I knew about number syncronosities beforehand but i subscribed exactly among the 1.11 Mio other people, which has same very hefty meaning! what a reassurance for walking on this path.hhahahahha

  • Thank you spirit science =) The glands of the 3 d eye is the Pineal gland and the pituetery gland as you use them when using your 3d eye in 3 d 😉 I think for the Crown it is the Hypothalamus. I remember this as Drunvalo Melchizedek said the Pineal gland is a eye it has a lins or what you call it in english just as the two other eyes has. And you use it and the pituerery gland together to get your 3d eye vison. Thanks for all your great articles.. Inlakesh <3

  • Alright question. If I were to wear a shirt with the colour of olive, would that increase the green and yellow or the green? Or what if I were to wear black or white? does black increase all my chakra points since it’s a mixture of all the colours? Also if you were to be exposed to the moonlight would that help us to the 8th chakra (based on your secrets of the moon article)?

  • How do we know the order of the colors? Is it just a popularity tendency? I have a conviction that the colors are actually the other way around. Starting at the bottom with violet and ending at the top with red. I know that the chakra colors are based on the color spectrum of the rainbow. What I find with the rainbow is that rainbows go from violet to red (from the inside to the outer rays). Violet is at the bottom of the rainbow and red is at the top. If it is the other way around, it would only be because it’s a double rainbow. And, in a double rainbow, the second one is just a fainter mirror reflection of the clearer first one. Also if anybody knows anything about the seven Spirits of God, I have some Scriptural references that also show why I think the colors are from violet to red and not red to violet.

  • I remember back when spirit science first came out.. I’ve been living by this since then and have told everyone I know about it and told them they gotta watch these articles because they’re life changing! Im glad im getting on here today seeing that it’s blown up alot and millions of people love it! WE ARE WAKING UP TO OUR TRUE CAPABILITIES! And i love it!

  • You are doing an outstanding work. Such an honest and deep research. Your teachings are like we are in an old era and some master or guru is giving universal knowledge…have no words. You are truly an inspiration and we need more of you to bring a real change in the world and within us. Loads of Gratitude and blessings. 🙏🙏🙏

  • What makes me uncomfortable of these series of articles is how you simply state things as if they are unquestionable truths. You can’t just say ‘Those problems are because of your chakras being unbalanced’ without having some sort of argument of why that is, or elaborating in how a Chakra related perspective is beneficial for our world view. What I mean is, this is more a way of looking into life (which can bring answers to you) than an actual description of how the universe works.

  • The articles of your website quite precisely changed my life. I am so thankful for your work! 💜 Spirit science introduced me to concepts of multidimension, energy, unknown human history and other incredible perspectives with considerable evidences. The name of your website is just the best. When our spirit and our scientific knowledge come together, miracles do happen. Lots of love to you and your whole team💜

  • Calling this science is… Inaccurate. But all of this is based on observable truths and can still lead to important discoveries and understanding. The model of chakras is inaccurate to reality, but is a great model for how to balance your health and emotional well-being. This goes for nearly everything this website provides. On the whole I think this makes your website incredibly beneficial to your viewers, and has gained you a new skeptical, but impressed subscriber.

  • I am very spiritual and I believe in reiki and am actually about to study to practice it myself and am about to go get it done for the first time and I know I could really use it and it made me feel tingly when you mentioned going to get reiki cuz that’s what I’m about to do! Love your vids man I’ve learned a lot

  • Id love to see a article about throat singing and its affects on the body. Its almost everywhere around the world and was commonly used to help bring one self closer to nature . The resonance creates a harmonic overtone. A mystical note that no individual sings but rather, it is the result of the sound waves converging together creating a sound usually 2 actives above the intended note. The interesting thing is instead of it being quieter or more subtle the noise can be felt strongly throughout the body of the individual and those hearing.

  • You guys are really doing an awesome job I knew a lot but I’ve learned a lot more perusal you I would like you to do a article explaining agnostic beliefs starting with the Archer ons the demiurge and Sophia they seem to be the exact same belief system of the Egyptians the demiurge being ra. I would like to hear your opinion

  • “-People are dying all around, tonnes of things are fucked, we got crisis everywhere, what problems do we resolve first? -Well, we have to strengthen copyright laws” I need a hug guys, those people are so dumb, I’m so tired, I just can’t believe how dumb they are. Is it only to force people to get creative, I mean the underlying thing, the positive one, cos some really aren’t that creative, they aren’t, bunch of stubs critiquing away really… but I understand, creation consumes a lot of energy, it requires lots of research… and… we have a life for goodness sakes sigh

  • I am sending Reiki to anyone who accepts it. May our chakras be clear and bright and balanced and working perfectly and harmoniously for the highest good of all concerned. May we all become aware of our own chakras and any imbalances and receive divine guidance on keeping them balanced at all times 😊 namaste ❤

  • I am an indigo child. Although I do display traits of Crystal children as well. I’ve heard of hybridization between the two but is rather rare. Also I can manipulate my own energies and even manipulate the fire on candles alongside other powers like telepathy and dreamwalking. I want to align my chakras in order to awaken my true latent power. Now I know how, thank you.

  • I should’ve watched this a long time ago… didn’t realize that about sunlight but it makes perfect sense & yes it does make me want to eat better. How fun to know that I can give myself an auto-boost with finding food to match my needs! Didn’t know abt color baths & the depths of reiki. So cool, but a little scary to let someone in my energy again. If you know of any reputable ones here in the U.S. please lmk.

  • As soon as I heard copyright, I blew a top. I mean, come on, who in the world should care what music you’re using in your articles? What the hell! I guess world is full of morons. If I had created some kind of music I would let everyone use it, I wouldn’t bitch about it! This is beyond unbelievable… I am sorry this happened to you Patchman.

  • Thank you for your talent to communicate wisdom and knowledge in a lighthearted way, Spirit Science. From the first moment I heard your voice I could sense your open throat chakra and your ease in expressing through it. I think it’s because I lived through a gradual opening of mine and experience a fountain that finds its way through it. Also in singing, which helps. One thing that I’ve noticed when meeting Reiki healers, is that they’ve passed exams while carrying all their issue burdens in their backpack. I don’t believe in how Reiki is taught, at least not in Holland. Self-reflection doesn’t seem part of this training, but waving with the title? Yes!

  • +Spirit Science Can you please do your own #MeToo experience article please. I really think you can raise enough momentum through social media in order to raise funds (gofundme) for consulting a psychologist and a lawyer. It doesn’t matter if you feel you aren’t able to win the suit, a lawyer might find something you are missing and in the worst case scenario, the silver lining will be to expose your abuser which will save future victims. Please do this. I have the personal account of someone who might be able to get the ball rolling. I beg you; don’t just take this shit. My friend can pass this on to Phillip Defranco.

  • The Creator of Existence does enough, what we have left in this world; whether it is by factories, Artists or The Creator of Existence self The countless materials, the shaping or the trees matter to the next generations. This next generation can invent solutions for the over flow of specific producing, the produced food, music or even technology! The Creator of Existence knows what to do with all of it, People Can help The Creator of Existence by helping other people. I believe conserving is similar to saving (reducing) recycle, reduce, reuse. The Creator of Existence taught the existence to be alive 🙂

  • It is simple to choose what you want to beleive but giving something a try it definitely worth it I have noticed myself that after working on my chakras My life just got better I was able to communicate better Be comfortable around others Found so many opportunities Never missed an opportunities Treated the Universe And I as One Which allowed some miracles to happen

  • Hi I have been following your website for years . Your articles have helped me explain to so many that what I do through aura work and chakras is not evil or devil worship. I have always from a very young age been able to tap into my third eye . I see auras and chakras, along with other things most people can not see . I am a Spiritualist that is fascinated with the merge of spirit and science. I just want to take the time to thank you for all the work you put into these amazing articles . Have a fantastic day ✌️💖🤗

  • It is interresting though that on a mystic level it is being taught that each level of creation “desires” to elevate to the next level, so for example plants function is to feed cattle who then feeds us who are at the top of the food chain. “You are what you eat” is true and I always considered the vegetatian or non animal way to be the “spiritual” way, it was interresting to hear another perspective (taking the industrial senseless killing out of the picture, the topic was strictly spiritual).

  • Conscious light put thru a prism would show the reality we build within. A physical eternal dream, once it is dreamed enough times and everything is observed. For what is the point of reality to us if we do not learn it all. One life is only one side of an infinite amount of possibilities. One good one bad. Ying and Yang. Until we know God as thyself.

  • This website straight up describing the endocrine system as Chakras. I find it fascinating. If one of these things are out of balance your whole mood and ideas change. The endocrine system is in control of our hormones. Hormones influence our emotions and can allow us to feel spiritually contented through the nervous system that websites electric energy. This article is just a simplified version of explanation using spirituality to of explaining scientific terms and analysis.

  • Hello! i am a long time watcher on your website and was wondering if you can make more articles about the chakras and how they affect us. as well as maybe the smaller chakras and how our soul star hand and feet chakras need balancing as well… i wish you a great day and would be extremely thankful to learn more about it!

  • Why have you not mentioned yoga as a way to balance the chakras? Reiki can be effective but is a bandaid and a short cut to doing the work. IMO Dangerous to offer ppl shortcuts to such an important subject as their spiritual journey. Thank you for creating such informative content on these important subjects. 🙏🏼🤍

  • Why is it that the most ancient texts dont hold color in correlation with the energy centers but western “spirituality” pasta always portrays the points with colors? Wouldnt we want to learn from the original masters and not additions from translations? Also. Although I am a fan of the authors, why do we never explain the methods of “balancing” the chakra? Ive seen students jump up angry out of the red baths and heart broken out of green baths so… any associte of mine will laugh and call this pseudoscience. I need ammunition here friends…

  • Hi guys. I really like your articles and how clear they are in explaining complex topics. I wanted to ask you if it is ok for me to reference and put a link to certain of your articles or even take a clip to insert in my articles for my website, obviously saying where it comes from. That way I don’t have to explain the same thing when someone has done it so brilliantly already. That is to say, that I don’t want to sound as if I am stealing intellectual property and I think now we are all helping each other out as a collective. The website I’m creating is about specific tools to stay in high frequencies while balancing the whole system. This is why I think this information is crucial, so I can present my tools for people to use when they don’t know how to get about mastering their energy. Thank you. I appreciate your support with this.

  • I’m going to Rassenshuriken this website with my chakra then place everyone in Infinite Tsukuyomi since chakra is all the sudden real. Then I’m going to tap into my God Ki and Hakai this whole planet into non existence since this website is a actual thing. Oh wait chakra and God Ki aren’t real so I guess everyone is safe…. for now lolol

  • Have u connected to the idea yet that earth is mostly silicon dioxide (quartz crystals)… which in a plasmatic state… long ago… makes earth a star.? The sun is plasma (quartz). Thus the magnetic field. Only stars; no planets (some alive, some dying, some dead). I wonder if u will cover this in the “history movie”? 🙂 Peace in & love out
