Do They Regain Their Mystic Falls?

Mystic Falls, once a hub of supernatural events, has become one of the few places in the world where non-traditional magic has no effect. This means that most supernatural species and magical artifacts have no effect. In the Vampire Diaries season 6 finale, Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) decides to return to Mystic Falls, but it is not for Elena. Stefan returns to visit his mother’s grave and saves Elena, while Damon returns to bring back everyone.

The town’s founding has changed from circa 1790 to 1860, and then back again. Stefan returned to Mystic Falls around the anniversary of his mother’s death, and Damon returned because of a spell that remained in the town for the first half of the season. Witches and Supernatural Hunters forfeited their ability to use their powers while in Mystic Falls.

In the finale of Vampire Diaries, Bonnie returns to town and Elena is happy to have her back. However, she and Damon still have a fling back in the fall after they came back to life and Elena lost her.

Mystic Mercantile, which opened in June 2024, offers the most unique experience in Mystic Falls, the iconic Salvatore House living room. The town was built upon grounds that had seen the advent of the Originals, the killing of witches, and the ancient werewolf packs over thousands of years.

Bonnie returns to town, and Elena graduates medical school, and she and Damon move back to Mystic Falls once she graduates. Despite everything, Damon still asks Bonnie if he has to kill someone to help him.

In conclusion, Mystic Falls remains a pivotal part of TVD mythology, with its connection to supernatural events and supernatural creatures continuing to be explored in its successor series, Legacies.

Did Katherine come back to Mystic Falls for Stefan?

Stefan and Katherine are now away from the house, and Stefan tries to explain why she is back. Katherine claims she is back because of him, but Stefan tells her he was never in love with her. When he tells her he hates her, she stabs him in the stomach and runs away. Elena finds Stefan and helps him with his wound, while asking for Katherine. Damon arrives and tries to provoke Stefan over his kiss with “Elena”. Stefan insists that they must be united now that Katherine is there and not let her drive them apart.

John leaves to say goodbye to Jeremy, explaining that he grew up learning to hate vampires, just like his father. Jeremy wonders why the ring doesn’t protect him from accidents but only if death comes from a supernatural cause. Damon returns home and finds Katherine waiting to say goodbye. They kiss, and Damon asks her if she ever loved him and if he can forget everything so they can start over. Katherine tells him she never loved him and it was always Stefan. She leaves, leaving Damon heartbroken.

Does Bonnie get back to Mystic Falls?

In Let Her Go, Bonnie returns to Mystic Falls with renewed magic thanks to Qetsiyah’s blood. Kai’s incomplete Merge ceremony with Luke causes side effects and makes him “magically diseased”. Jo and Alaric are reluctant to help them, but Kai realizes he needs Jo’s magic to complete the Merge. He reveals that the spells created the Prison Worlds are bound by the magic of the leader of the Gemini Coven, and if he dies, the worlds will collapse.

Unconscious of the existence of multiple Prison Worlds, Jo agrees to give up her magic and lose her status as a witch to complete the Merge. However, the 1994 Prison World collides with another during an Aurora Borealis, and Bonnie is in a winter night. She finds a journal discussing the power of the recurring Aurora Borealis and framed photos of Damon and Stefan from 1864.

As the Prison Worlds collide again, Bonnie rushes back into the tunnels, realizing that the Northern Lights can be used to cast a spell. She slices her palm with the Ascendant and states the incantation to create a portal to the real world. Just before the portal opens, Bonnie is approached by a woman with auburn hair and blue eyes who asks her name. Bonnie is transported back to the real world, where she shows Damon the video she unknowingly recorded as she was sucked into the portal. Damon confesses that the woman was his mother, Lily Salvatore.

How do they get back into Mystic Falls?

In Christmas Through Your Eyes, Malachai Parker, a Siphoner, uses his siphoning power to absorb the Magic Purification Spell from Mystic Falls, effectively stripping the spell from the town. This allows vampires and other supernatural beings to return home and negate the spell’s effects. The Travelers’ Curse aimed to nullify all forms of magic except Traditional Magic, which they considered “pure”. However, the spell’s effects are gradual, stripping away magic layer by layer over time.

Original vampires and their sires were created using Dark Magic, and the magic that reanimated their deceased bodies will be stripped from them until they are returned to their final state before being turned into a vampire. This process forces the vampire to relive their death before transitioning into a vampire.

Sheila transported Bonnie and unintentionally Damon to the 1994 prison world, where they were resurrected. • Kat Graham who played Bonnie on The Vampire Diaries is such an amazing actress! She played the role of Bonnie so well. The way the writers treated her was just horrible. She played her part better than the other actors. She worked so hard. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that by the writers. I heard that the actor who played Damon stood up for her and threatened to quit if the writers permanently killed Bonnie off the show. The writers shouldn’t be able to get away with the way they treated her. That is what I heard. I don’t know if it’s true but if it is true then it’s awful and the writers should be punished for what they did. Kat Graham is an amazing actress. She is going to do amazing things in her career. I am so happy that Kat Graham didn’t quit even after what the writers put her through. I wouldn’t blame her if she did quit. But I am glad she stayed on The Vampire Diaries because she did an amazing job! She is an incredible actress. I want to be an actor myself and I look up to Kat Graham. She is really good at acting!

  • I’ll say it again! The Mikaelsons got their own spin off, but the Bennett witches should’ve also got their own spin off it would’ve been amazing to explore the witches and we could’ve also seen Bonnie ancestors, her mom, grandma, etc. all through the Bennett storyline starting from the first Bennett witch to Emily to idk the other witches to Sheila to Bonnie’s mom and idk maybe seeing Bonnie discover more about her bloodline even tho she’s already super op, idk I just want to the see the lives of each Bennett witch, their power/magic, their coven, and then their death, see how they reacted to the Salem witch trials

  • Bonnie sacrificed herself to resurrect Jeremy then his character gets scrapped so early on. Enzo gets killed and Bonnie gets weakened so she can’t resurrect him. Of course the ingredients and spells would be different for each resurrection but she could find a way with her psychic world and her magic to resurrect Enzo, since the crappy writing just ended Bonnie’s story with “I’ve finally figured out this whole witch thing.” 😒😒 Still the best character ever!! I will always find my way back to perusal clips of Bonnie.

  • She is THE woman of the show. She is the real hero. So incredibly powerful!! yes she’s a witch..but i think her values make her so strong. My real queen!!She was insecure, fragile, she lost people that she loved but she continued to fight and to protect her friends also if she needed protection. She is an incredibile woman. Thank you, Bonnie Bennet.❤

  • Never connected with a character as strongly as I have with Bonnie Bennett; and also loved the actress behind the character, Kat Graham, just as much as Bonnie. What a beautifully executed, and well deserved celebration of the strength and support this character has unconditionally provided everyone with. Of course, I’m left wishing we were given more of Bonnie, but this final battle just kept me screaming and jumping in my seat, GURL I WAS CHEERING THEM BABES ON LIKE NO TOMORROW, WHEN I SAW GRAMS AND LUCY I LOST MY SHIIITTTTT!!!!!!! And that last “I did it..” was just so beautiful to see. I’m going to miss Bonnie, blessed be gurl. and slay.

  • For all those wanting Bonnie to of had her happy ending I wrote this : Bonnie’s ending is still unfolding but all of those traumas and things that have caused her pain have helped her grow beyond her limits ! I imagine her on a hike, wind blowing her hair in the breeze, she’s climbing the mountain, hasn’t reached the top quite yet . Just then she turns back and sees the breathtaking view of the forest and towns far off . She remembers everyone, grams, her mom, her dad, her friends, her cousin Lucy she met once . . . Jeremy, Luca, Enzo ❤️‍🩹The leaves rustle in the wind, a small tear falls she wipes it and smiles huge “I made it guys ” and she looks back up towards the peak of the mountain to find the love of her life she found when she least expected it with their small children laughing screaming wild, running around him as they look down and say “mommy hurry up !” 🌲🌈⭐️✨ Bonnie :”coming ” as she wipes her tears, smiling, with a little laugh running towards her happy ever after 🌻

  • Qetsiyah did not care about Bonnie. The season she was in TVD I thought she would be more loving to Bonnie when she finally met her but she wasn’t. So I understand why she wasn’t in this scene. She only cared about herself and ruining the life of Silas and Amara. If Emily was there it would have been perfect!

  • I don’t get emotional when perusal 📺, but when I saw this scene, and in the moment when one by one a Bennett witch came to the aid of Bonnie. When the room filled with past generations of Bennett witches, I couldn’t hold back the tears. That moment became spiritual for me because after losing my grandmother, back in 2008, I could almost feel her in the room with me. That scene was one of the most beautifully written and most emotionally powerful scenes on the show that personified the true essence of #BlackGirlMagic… (pun intended)😊

  • Let’s just all be grateful that they didn’t kill our girl, lord knows they probably wanted to…but they knew better than to start that war….I’m just happy that she’s alive and that she left that town and her crappy friends to start her own life. This scene proved that she was always the strongest out of everyone on this show and she never needed anyone to look out for her, she was a Bennet witch backed by a powerful line of witches of powerful women and she survived all that crap on the show, all on her own, bc she never needed any of her basic ass friends. She was the girl that never knew what a strong person she truly was.

  • It’s not even debatable Bonnie is the strongest character on the show and deserved so much more acknowledgement and a much better ending. Jeremy was on set for 3 seconds max. They could’ve at least reunited them. Either way this was the most powerful scene for me. Just wish she could’ve gotten a bit of a happier ending. She deserves it.

  • The one who sacrifice a lot, died multiple times, helped Damon and Stefan get out of problems and for me to see her keep fighting in this scene I cried because she was a strong person and she will forever be respected as Bonnie Bennett in the show and for her not to get her happy ending it’s just not right

  • Bonnie was the most powerful witch Hand stout even in the original series and The Vampire Diaries she is the one which who had to endure and suffer and scratch and scrape just to survive she is displayed the most powerful Magic in the entire series combined she is the epitome of what that series deems a witch she is the embodiment of the spellcaster and she is the queen Supreme regardless of what any other fans have to say she has been through hell and high water and she is a rank a witch in my book

  • Seeing Bonnie being able to hold back Hell Fire even for a minute was impressive. As shown with a coven of witches (all Bennett’s, I assume) from when the Maxwell bell was rung the first time, they barely held it back and were all consumed. To see Bonnie draw the Hell Fire away from Mystic Falls and still walk away from this was soooo awesome. It was really great to see Bonnie’s Grams, Lucy, Ayana and The Witch of the Five as well. I knew the Bennett witches weren’t gonna go down without a fight. I’m glad to see this is how it ended. Amazing.

  • ep·ic ˈepik/noun: epic; plural noun: epics 1. a long poem, typically one derived from ancient oral tradition, narrating the deeds and adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the history of a nation. adjective: epic 1. relating to or characteristic of an epic or epics. Bonnie Bennett = the only truly heroic character in this whole damned show and the only character who committed legendary deeds and acts. Bonnie + Bennett line = the only truly epic scene in this whole “epic” episode

  • me and my mom cried so hard during the entire finale we’ve been there since day one and loved Bonnie. she was my favorite character really all the witches good or bad were I just hated how they wrote her so weak and then finally at the end showed that we was one of the strongest witches in the show I hope her and Quetsiah make appearances on TO somehow cause that would be amazing maybe on her trip around the world she stops in Nola and helps Freya

  • Best scène in the series finale. but 1st. Emily isn’t there because there was scheduling issues with the actress. 2nd, although Qetsiyah is her ancestor, she did not show one ounce of care for the Bennett line or bonnie. she was a manipulative bitch who was extremely selfish and jealous. so on that alone she wouldn’t come to help. 3rd, not only is this a powerful scene, but the symbolism of the Bennett Family Line being the most powerful group of witches since the beginning of time has come to fruition on this scene. “You are more powerful together than alone”. had there been any other witches who tried to do what Bonnie or any Bennetts did, they wouldn’t succeed. I feel that down the years, bonnie probably ends up helping Caroline with the twins. Or that bonnie finds a way to bring Enzo back. because he didn’t go to Cades hell, he was stuck in Bonnie’s dimension. If anything, bonnie has proven to be the most powerful witch to date. no other witch has been an anchor, sacrificial lamb, had a combo of spirit magic, dark magic, and expression all at once. no other witch was able to take powers from 100 dead witches, use it, and live to tell the tale. no other witch has created a psychic blast that created it’s own dimension. if you look at each Bennett witch, they have done one thing that signifies their life. Emily created the spell for the tomb. Lucy and the armory as well as help vampires for years. Sheila and Kai’s prison world. Qetsiyah and the other side. the witch who created the brotherhood.

  • I really think that Plec and Williamson should’ve given Bonnie a better story arc, rather than just the “friend in the wings, only remembered when needed” type. I personally feel that Bonnie’s friends were thankless and didn’t appreciate much of what she did for them. She deserved a better ending than this. Hoping they make a spin off for Bonnie, but I doubt Kat Graham would want to reprise the role.

  • The ‘Other-side’ has already been destroyed at this point. And it has been implied on the show that dead witches can do magic only through a talisman which said-death-witch has used during their lifetime here on Earth and in some case if they have physical foothold here on this plane as we’ve seen when the veil was lifted. So using this logic, those dead Bennett witches cannot do magic here on this Earth. I think they were just there as Bonnie wanted them to be there for emotional and psychological support. Bonnie destroyed hell with all by herself and placed herself in the hierarchy of one of the most powerful witches of all time (if not the most) in TO/TVD universe.

  • Who’s ready to read a lot of typing? For those of you upset that Bonnie and Enzo didn’t have a happy ending I urge you to read the following. At the end of the series she was given new (or previously untapped) levels of power. So that’s done and not elaborated on? She didn’t die. We do not know the limitations of the power she now holds. Is she like Jean Grey? Powerful telepath and telekinetic added on to being not just a witch but a Bennett witch? Who’s to say that during her travels in seeing the world that she doesn’t seek out answers to what she now is and what she can and cannot do. Cade even said she was on his level of power. That was also before she tapped back into her magic. Which also let’s not forget the saying “There’s ALWAYS a bigger fish”. Were her and Cade really the most powerful? But that gets into other territory. Look deeply at the rules of the universe. (TVD and The Originals) Resurrections to an extent are possible you just need to know how. In a world where every supernatural being is created by magic, where there is a will there is a way. You just need to know the right spell and have enough power. Also with enough power you can create your own spell. (Qetsiyah, Ester, Dahlia, a few to name among the many that created their own spells.) All spells have to be created by somebody. Take into account also all of the dark objects and spelled items in the world. (Spelled items being a daylight ring/ bracelet or siren bell that’s created with Nature magic instead of dark magic) There are things to help her.

  • Well.. This bonnie end up like one of the most powerfull wicthes ever, not only showed a great feat of raw power but psychic power, enough to created a entire word made of this… with the time she will developed her psychics power at cade’s level ( probably the level he had when he created the ) … This means she is a psychic wicth… nothing ever existed in both show… making her unique

  • Bonnie didn’t have help to stop the hellfire. The otherside didn’t exist anymore so all of her ancestors would have been erased or moved on to find peace. When a supernatural being finds peace they no longer can access their magic or affect anything in the physical world nor can they see anything in the physical world. If Bonnie actually did get help from them she would’ve had to draw all of their spirits back to the physical world and give them all their magic back, while holding back hellfire, which is quite impossible. Enzo was the one who helped, he made her see her ancestors so that she wouldn’t feel alone, and to give her the confidence to do it on her own.

  • Such a moving scene seeing Bonnie and all her ancestors defeat one of the greatest force of evil to happen on the show 👏🏽 Emily wasn’t there though 😞 and holy shit everyone has been talking about Lucy and I couldn’t remember which one was Lucy until I saw her here and remembered she was the witch who helped Katherine in S2. Glad she was back again 🖤

  • Bonnie is the most powerful character in the verse but a lot of hope simps aren’t ready for this conversation. Bonnie is out there stopping hellfire, creating and destroying dimensions a feat which none of the original’s witches were and can able to do. Some idiots even think that Davina is stronger than Bonnie lol

  • Its funny how everybodies ending except for the Main 3 (Delena Stelena) was the best. Elena ending was good but so blah at the same time. The final ending scene with Damon finally saw Stefan again was really good. Bit this was THE BEST scene next to Bonnie websiteing the spirits to kill Claus in season 2.

  • Everyone would be dead without Bonnie. She deserved this moment, she was always alone when she made all of her sacrifices. She deserved to know she was never alone, she was always stronger than everyone else in this world. Powerful witch from powerfull Bennet bloodline and the most powerful witch of all. And so amazing woman.

  • That great end with the return of the magic of bonnie bennett in its maximum splendor, we missed this bonnie. My favorite character, the most versatile wrestler and powerful witch. I agree the witches Emily and the ancestor of the lineage bennett Qetsiyah lacked to be really epic. Although the witch ayana mentor of esther mikelson and lucy made up for that. But it was great anyway this end.

  • What I love the most about this scene is that Bonnie finally got resolution on feeling so alone. Throughout the show she struggled with that: Season 2 when she met Lucy and revealed that she felt alone being in the middle, when she met her mother the next season (abandonment issues), when her father died, when she took on the pain/burden of being the anchor, when she went to the prison world and almost killed herself, when Damon went to sleep and left her to fend for herself. She has been the loneliest character trying to find a connection since the beginning. So seeing Grams, seeing the line was her finally realizing that her strength came from them and that she has never been completely alone, despite death. I also love that for a show learning how to deal with grief, everyone deals with it in their own way (finally). Elena finally learns how to deal with loss by thanking Stefan for playing a huge role in her life and letting him go. Caroline grieves and creates a school with Alaric. Damon deals with it by holding on to the moment he can see his brother again. And Bonnie acknowledges that the dead are always with her (as a witch). This scene simultaneously resolves two issues: death and Bonnie’s loneliness.

  • This scene along with Stefan/Lexi reunion was most emotional for me! Bonnie not giving up and Enzo right there to give her strenght along with Grams 😭 Bonnie and Enzo were so perfect and they deserved to spend their lives together! I just don’t understand the logic of Bonnie not being able to bring him back as she is such badass witch, and we know Bonnie Bennett never gives up!

  • It’s upsetting that we will never see Bonnie Bennett again in this universe unless they were to recast which they better not. The only way we would even be able to know what Bonnie is up to is through other characters bringing her up. Which they have only brought up her past and what’s she’s done rather than what’s she doing now. I hope she’s happy and found the love that she deserves. I wonder if she stayed in contact with Elena and Damon tho, and maybe Jeremy? I feel like she did but I don’t think she’ll want to return to Mystic Falls ever again. Especially after what happened to Enzo.

  • Loved this scene, It made me cry so much… Bonnie has been my favorite character since day one. It’s sad how much she has lost and i totally feel like Enzo should of stayed alive, although i don’t complain because the story between them was so beautifully done. Also just seeing Her family uniting as one to help her was just great ♥ definitely one of my top favorite moments in TVD

  • Bonnie was and always will be one of the strongest witches because she used dark magic which allowed her to take down the originals, Davina could only do it with the power of the 3 harvest girls, but even with that power Davina would die eventually from the amount of power. And one day it would be awesome if Bonnie came on OT and tried dark magic again to take down a very powerful enemy

  • Bonnie is the real hero of this show. She dies at the end of almost each season trying to save everyone then finding a way to return just so she can save everyone else again. She deserved better exposure.I would’ve preferred that CW and Julie Plec invested on a spinoff of her life away from Mystic Falls, instead of Charmed Reboot and Legacies.

  • Actually this time mana and as well ability power upgrade she can actually to Enzo from the death right? She did once for jeremy First the original mum need to website the entire bloodline of the witches to do the spell she do it alone Second she did bring back someone from dead she dies and level up to have magic almost same level as her first witch did And then the expression draw power from the dead Each time as time and story go on she likes Breaking rules and constantly withdraw power beyond her pool and survive the exp and the power become her basic power and she’s becoming a bad ass. And now creating a world unconsciously destroy hell . She’s the worst nightmare of those enemy. And best ally of the main character .
