The Cornell University Witchcraft Collection, the largest collection in North America, is set to open its first major exhibit on Halloween. The exhibition, which explores the persecution of women through its historic objects, will be on view from October 31, 2017 to August 31, 2018. The collection, once part of the personal archives of Cornell co-founder Andrew Dickson White, is believed to be one of the largest collections on witchcraft in North America.
The opening reception for the exhibit will take place on October 31 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Level 2B, Kroch Library. The exhibit features 200 artifacts from the collection, including trial records, demonology books, and woodcuts. Visitors can learn how witchcraft was associated with women and how these items are typically accessible only by appointment.
The exhibit features rare manuscripts, photographs, and historical movie posters, making it the largest of its kind in North America. Witches brewed magical potions in cauldrons, shape-shifted into various animal forms, raised storms that destroyed harvests, and performed all sorts of malevolent acts.
The collection is open to the public for research, and its Digital Witchcraft Collection offers over 100 English-language resources. The opening reception will take place on October 31 from 4:00-5:30 at the Kroch Library on level 2B. The exhibit will remain on display through August 31, 2018, and the entire physical Witchcraft Collection is available for in-person research.

I’m a huge Radiohead fan. I can take a joke. The writers could have went in many different directions here. They could have compared/mistaken Radiohead for Coldplay, or called them a virgin band, or made fun of their depressing sound, or said that Creep is their only good song. Instead they aimed low. Really really really low. Tasteless, bullying, crass garbage writing, man.
Holy hell. The core part of the joke is that he has a lazy eye and that their music starts slow? I mean there’s so much to dig in with radiohead and I think a joke involving Rockstar blond Thom York meeting the new cryptic more spiritual artistic Thom Yorke meeting each other incroperating the massive image change could be genuinely funny. I kinda get what parts whoever wrote this part specifically think is funny but I don’t get what is funny about it.
big radiohead fan here, and this wouldve been a lot funnier if: -they drew thom yorke more realistically than made him look like he had a stroke -they made him voice acted by either a professional british voice actor or thom yorke himself (like what south park did) -they did research and did an actually funnier cutaway than this
Family Guy used to be great, but this is just intolerable. I don’t believe that there’s a line that can be crossed in comedy, but needlessly mocking someone for their appearance (specifically a part of their appearance that they couldn’t change without serious cosmetic surgery) is bullying. I’m confident Thom himself wouldn’t care, and might even find it funny, so i’m sure he doesn’t feel like a bully victim, but if you take this exact same joke and apply it to a working-class, petrol station employee with a facial disfigurement from a burn or any other such incident, it could be life ruining and completely confidence destroying. My sense of humour is pretty bleak and I really don’t like this culture of people being recreationally offended, but this is just nasty and generates zero laughs, so pointless ultimately.
Several things wrong with this: 1. They used his OK Computer-era appearance rather than his current look 2. His left eye is literally only half closed, so he squints with his right eye to match it 3. The voice they used isn’t even trying to sound like him 4. Radiohead hasn’t made much anti-technology music since Kid A, mostly due to their political views influencing their work more 5. Thom never calls himself a frontman on interviews
Didn’t even make me smile for a second, as a Radiohead fan, this is by far the worst thing I’ve seen that’s considered a “joke” they’re literally bashing on Thom Yorke for no reason other than “haha depressed guy have bad looking eyes, that funny. And it’s also because he had bad eyes.” If you’re gonna make a derogatory joke, make it something like an actual semblance of a joke that has a good punchline. I feel insulted for even perusal this.
literally the sole reason i HATE the writers of family guy. I mean yeah, partially because this is genuine bullying, making fun of someone who’s gone through A LOT already, but it’s what it symbolizes that really fucking pisses me off: the superficiality of it all, the simple necessity to make money while fueling an already dead entity. Poor Thom. He’s allways been insecure about his blinded eye. He even titled a song perhaps after his eye (Glass Eyes). It’s not the fact that’s stated hes a weirdo that offends me, it’s the eye that does. I do admit to a certain extent I love dark humour but this is just idk. Feel uncomfortable laughing perhaps because the target is innocent and specific.
Y’Know, Peters karaoke cutaway was long as hell, but to me at least it was funny in a way. I thought I’d get a small laugh out of this but I didn’t even smile. If peters karaoke cutaway was the worst cutaway in the show, this is the worst parody/joke in the show and a prime example of what modern family guy is.
I watched this on my tv’s YouTube app, I held my breathe whilst opening the comments just praying that people would be calling this out for the unfunny disgrace it is, and for a nice change the comments didn’t let me down, there still is hope for mankind! Quite possibly the most unfunny joke this show has written, and THAT saying A LOT.

For ten years Family Guy has been nothing but low-hanging fruit and mean-spirited garbage for the mere sake of it. It’s basically begging the audience to be offended, blissfully unaware of the fact that you can only be edgy and provocative for so long. Eventually it becomes transparent. It’s funny that they refer to Eminem as “increasingly irrelevant” in this episode because they’re exactly the same thing.
I can see why people involved in animation don’t respect Seth McFarlane. Jokes are just thrown out of context with no consequence to the “story” and they usually are fun just because of how outrageous or unexpected they are. This one in particular is terrible. I don’t mind making fun of people on their appearence, I’m not pc but this is just some obvious jokes a child could make and are unfunny af. Also Thom Yorke is talented af while Seth is just an attention whore that tried to become an actor for some reason.
This is about the most inaccurate thom yorke accent ever. It literally sounds nothing like him. I’ve lived in England for 50 years and never once heard a person speak like this. I’ve no idea what sort of accent that’s meant to be but it certainty isn’t a london one. I can’t even tell if it’s meant to be broadly northern or southern. I’d rate this as the worst clip ever on family guy. Even stewy has a better English accent than this.
I’m not really a Radiohead fan. But I’ve always disliked when Family Guy would go after or insult anyone for their looks. (As if Seth Macfarlane is so unimpeachably hot???) And purely from a comedy standpoint, this is their worst one yet. Also, that bit at the end was, like, the opposite of adding on to a joke like what golden-age Simpsons used to do. What a trainwreck.
