Does Master At Arms Have An Impact On Spells?

Master-at-Arms is a passive Champion System in Elder Scrolls Online, which increases the damage done with direct damage attacks by 3 per stage. It is a Slotted Star located in the Warfare Constellation and affects all skills, including Light Attacks. Master-at-Arms buffs only the initial hit, not the dot, and light attacks are buffed by direct damage and single target.

Physical damage is usually direct damage, while any damage with a lingering effect like bleeding or burning is called DOT (damage over time). If you’re using an AoE direct damage skill, Biting Aura and Master at Arms both apply. The Master-at-Arms slottable will affect your Light Attack damage but not your Damage Over Time from that skill.

For CP, Ironclad and Master-at-Arms effect Direct Damage. Ironclad reduces damage taken from DD attacks, while Master-at-Arms increases the DD you do. When cast, Call to Arms gives allies a 25-point boost to one-handed, two-handed, archery, health, and stamina for ten minutes. This spell is cast with both Ironclad and Master-at-Arms.

The current status of skills affected by Master-At-Arms is unknown, as most threads are relatively dated. For PVE DPS, Master-at-Arms, Deadly Aim, Fighting Finesse, and one flex spot are recommended for a set and forget setup.

  • I didn’t have much time under hand so as to test it myself, but do you know if they’ve fixed Fetcher Infection ? I just discovered your website via this clip, and I really like your explanations showing a correspondence between CP and abilities. They’re clear and easy to follow, easy to catch the underlying logic: before this, it wasn’t really clear in my mind if damages every x seconds over xx seconds, was dealing direct damage or DoT… Yeah I’m lazy, when I play I just want to play rather than test things up to that point, I’d rather look up the Web for those specifics 🙂 (You don’t shew on your words so it’s clear 🙂 – that said because English isn’t my “mother tongue” and sometimes it’s hard for me to guess words when people speak fast, depending on the accent or whatnot – I’m used to the American accent). Anyways, thanks a lot ! Registered.

  • I have a question In some cases some skills that are affected by master at arms will increase in tooltip text but in combat the damage numbers remain the same even counting for first and final hit. And when i put points into thaumaturge it doesn’t change in tooltip text, only the damage numbers increase during combat

  • Any chance you could please do a new version of this, perhaps Mag Pet Sorc on Summerset build? I’m on XBOX so can’t test it as completely as on PC but tooltips and damage output suggest MAA IS influencing a number of Sorc and Destro skills that Asayre and Constellations spreadsheets shouldn’t be. Forum thread going here. Someone has tested a bit on PC and found similar results: forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/5368367#Comment_5368367

  • 5:36 – Overcharged now grants +65 magicka once when procced in addition to applying Minor Magickasteal for 4s which separately gives the +168 magicka for enemies that are hit on a 1s cooldown. This is a big sustain buff for classes like Mag Plar because there is no cooldown on proccing status effects so that +65 magicka can proc more than once from Magicka skills like jabs, burning light, etc. 6:00 – Diseased is not entirely aoe now, main part is still single target. The aoe has a separate cooldown of 4s which deals 40% of the original procs damage. It can hit the main target too though so you actually deal 2 instances of damage for 100% + 40% when the aoe is available. The aoe also spreads defile, but no longer reduces health recovery. It’s only for shield strength + healing taken. There is a cool interaction with the new Blighted Blastbones, it now guarantees Diseased. As a pet, it doesn’t use the 4s aoe cooldown rule because it’s considered as it’s own entity and dies any time it deals damage, so it will deal its normal damage + Diseased + AOE Diseased every single cast. It doesn’t interfere with the players 4s aoe cooldown either.

  • This is what the damage of status effects look like in comparison to each other: – Burning = 100% (3 ticks over 4s (0s, 2s, 4s)) – Poisoned = 66% – 132% (up to x2, 3 ticks over 4s (0s, 2s, 4s)) – Hemorrhaging = 75%/100%/125% (2nd and 3rd stack add +25%, 3 ticks over 4s (0s, 2s, 4s)) – Concussed = 110% (x1.15 if within 4s) – Overcharged = 110% – Sundered = 110% – Chilled = 110% – Diseased = 100% + 40% (aoe 4s cd)
